1881  Economy / Economics / Re: Twitter Crypto head and staff resigns on: December 18, 2022, 07:42:47 PM
I personally am glad that the world is finally seeing Elon Musk for the person he truly is and not for the person whom he's not.  Elon has never invented anything of my knowledge and for all intents and purposes seems to run business pretty poorly.  He's mostly made it money around hype and smart business savvy (being a great bullshitter).  I don't see Twitter working much better than any of his other companies as he seems like a toxic asset and one that's coming from the very top.  I would have left twitter too if I were them.
1882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All Hal Finney's Tweets on: December 18, 2022, 07:39:35 PM
I absolutely love going through the bitcoin "masters" (if you will) tweets, posts, forum writings etc and Hal Finney is of course no exception to this.  Personally I believe that Hal Finney and Nick Szabo combined to create bitcoin.  It just makes too much sense to me when your really dig in to it. Regardless you can learn so much about each of these great cryptographers /cypherpunks by going through their old text and I encourage everyone to do so!
1883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: December 18, 2022, 07:35:00 PM
When is this sick and disgusting thread going to end already.  I really do respect the fact that this forum has freedom of speech, but when it comes to hate/physical acts of violence being promoted I'm just not so sure I can get down with that.

But the one thing of the freedom of speech I do enjoy is telling each and every one of you who support this that I hate you.  I think you're sick twisted demented fucks and that you need major psychological help.  You and your country need to evolve as humans if you think this is okay.  It's as simple as that.
1884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 18, 2022, 07:30:49 PM
Good luck to everyone today. Even though in this league I'm well already out of it lol, I do have another league where I'm fighting for a playoff spot so if you're in the same position...I wish you the best of luck!

I had to start some real ugly players today like Chris Moore the WR for the Texans (thank you for that Deebo Samuel injury).  Had some really tough decision too between guys like Kenneth Walker, Stevenson, and Dobbins.

Can you guys believe the season is almost already over. Time flies!
1885  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat and crypto and stock is bs, but property is real on: December 15, 2022, 01:26:02 AM
Yeah, going to be difficult to take advice from someone who writes as poorly as you do...first off.  Secondly it is abundantly clear that you do not understand the concepts of cryptocurrency and it's even more clear that you don't understand the concept of company stock and how it works.  You actually do own part of a company, have voting rights etc.

I would suggest you spend some time studying about how it all works.
1886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SBF, arrested! on: December 15, 2022, 01:21:48 AM
Actually I wonder why SBF got arrested? is there any rule he broke? but I can't find any laws that he broke.

It's the risk if anyone leave their coins on centralized exchange and it's their right if they use customers money for investment or other thing to make more money, even banks did that. I believe they have a rule if they're not responsible to recover customers money when something bad happen, all centralized exchange have this rule. So it doesn't make sense for me if SBF go to jail just because this problem.

"It's the risk if anyone leave their coins on centralized exchange and it's their right if they use customers money for investment or other thing to make more money, even banks did that" .. actually banks DO that.  It's called fractional reserve banking and the great crash of 2008 proved how and why this can be a very dangerous proposition.  SBF is yet another example of why this practice should be minimized.

The guys also did countless amounts of lying and deceiving, so it's not like he didn't do anything wrong, because he certainly did.
1887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proof Of Income Will This Pass on: December 15, 2022, 01:19:04 AM
I'm curious which countries actually demand this, and not so sure I actually think it's a bad thing.  Personally I lean more on the side of lesser government, more of a libertarian type-ish when it comes to government rules and regulations, but I think this could actually promote good gambling habits.  That being said, I wouldn't want to deal with it and would certainly try and use ways around it if possible.
1888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is your local game includes in online casino ? on: December 15, 2022, 01:16:36 AM
Thanks for sharing, I love learning about other cultures and was glad to read about another local game from on of the replies on here.  I'm not sure there's any sort of local game in my area that could be turned in to a game that could be used on a gambling platform.  The only local games I can think of that I grew up with are pretty universal in nature.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Deebo have a bit of a history of being injured? He’s certainly has this year at least. I’m really going to need him in one of my other leagues if I have any chance at making a run for the championships (which I doubt with all the injuries I’ve had this year).

He was wrecking ball last year, but yeah he's been plagued with a hamstring injury for the majority of this year.  So have I, btw, but I'm paid much less and my hamstring has no impact on my job duties.  Getting old sux.

As for your Fantasy Leagues, I think you can write Deebo off for the remainder of the fantasy season.  If he does play again this year it probably won't be until Week 18.

Yeah that’s going to be one heck of a game this weekend. Even with all the injuries I’m kinda surprised to see the Niners still favored by over 3 points at the moment. Can’t wait for this showdown.

As long as Bosa, CMC, and Mr Irrelevant stay healthy I think we'll be fine.  Deebo is obviously an important part of the offense, but mostly on novelty plays.  He's super fast, so he'll be misses as a standard slot receiver also, but none of that is insurmountable from the team's perspective.

As for our fantasy league, I'm in the running for last place!  I guess it's fitting since I won the championship last year...  I feel like the Rams.  Cry

Are you sativa roller? If so, best name in the league hands down Smiley  Used to love me some of Dead too. I was a big fan of theirs even as a little kid. I remember their music video with puppets coming on TV as a kid, hence where my fandom started.

Oh yeah I’m aware of how great Deebo was last year.  I wouldn’t just classify him as a gadget player though. He means a lot to that offense and with him gone that’s going to make Aiyuks job all the more difficult. I can’t see them going very far personally, but we shall see.
1891  Economy / Economics / Re: BlackRock says get ready for a recession unlike any other on: December 13, 2022, 07:45:53 PM
I'm first not sure I can agree with BlackRock here in their assessment.  As someone who also closely follow financials (being that it's my job to do so), I've seen countless outlets predicting a recession for years now.  I remember back in 2016 there was a big "recession" scare that never materialized.

I'm not saying it's not going to happen, but I just wouldn't bank on it.  Yes this should be bitcoins time to shine, with inflation being where it's at, but unfortunately bitcoin is still too closely related to the stock market.  I'm not sure we are going to see this separation anytime soon (though I sure hope we do).
1892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We No Longer Pay People Directly on: December 13, 2022, 07:42:20 PM

The less we use cash, the more we pay people through a corporation. The last remaining use of cash and direct payments is Tipping.
Everything else we must pay through a corporation. We cannot pay another human unless there is a corporation involved. As cash disappears this becomes a final fact -- a corporation involved in every financial transaction you pursue. In each transaction, the corporation is taking their percentage but also controls and monitors your transaction.

While I would agree that this certainly does seem to keep becoming more and more the case, I can't say I agree with you in full for how much this is actually happening.  I still know of a good amount of businesses where people actually request cash in hand.  For example my dry cleaners will charge something crazy like 5% if you decide to use a credit card instead of cash, which essentially forces you to use cash.  The laundry mat down the street only takes cash etc etc.

1893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why every casino got bad habits? on: December 13, 2022, 07:39:47 PM
I think lumping every single casino with an ANN thread here as being ripe with issues/problems is a bit unfair perhaps. I certainly don't disagree that most seem to have complaints of some kind, but I also think we have to look at the people who are doing the complaining pretty closely too.  I think some of it is just miscommunication, not understanding the rules etc.

Now don't get me wrong there's plenty of accusations which stand true, and thankfully we have an avenue to expose those here on the forum.
1894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have Lucky Casino? on: December 13, 2022, 07:36:46 PM
It seems like you've just sort of convinced yourself that this Casino in particular is the best for you, and like you said you tend to just feel more comfortable when playing at this one in particular.  I have a couple like this, both IRL (in person) and online.  For the in real life/in person casino there's a specific casino in St Louis that I always just seems to have the best luck at.  I try and go there as often as possible, but I also sort of don't want to go too much and ruin my luck lol.  Of course this is all just stuff made up in my head, but hey, superstitions are a big part of gambling are they not.
1895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 13, 2022, 06:22:24 PM
Without Deebo, I'm just not sure that the Niners will have much of a chance.  I mean without their starting quarterbacks I'm not sure they had a chance, but especially now.  Will be a lot to have to overcome.

It's a high ankle sprain, so he'll likely be out for at least three weeks I'm guessing.  Hopefully he's back before the playoffs.  He'll be missed for sure, there are a bunch of tricky plays that just wouldn't work without him.

The only game that I'm really concerned about is this Thursday at Seattle.  If we win that one we clinch the NFC west, so that guarantees the 3rd seed at least.  The rest of the season looks fairly easy with the Commies at home, a trip to Vegas, then the Cards at home.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Deebo have a bit of a history of being injured? He’s certainly has this year at least. I’m really going to need him in one of my other leagues if I have any chance at making a run for the championships (which I doubt with all the injuries I’ve had this year).

1896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Fanatics getting in to sports betting online on: December 13, 2022, 04:19:35 AM
“ Fanatics Betting and Gaming has an industry edge combining one of the best global databases of diehard and casual sports fans, proven creative marketing and social strategies, cutting-edge technology, and Fanatics’ global brand recognition” https://www.fanaticsinc.com/fanatics-betting-gaming

Curious if anyone had any thoughts abut this. I personally have never been a big fan of Fanatics (to those who aren’t aware of who they are, they are an online sports apparel website. They’ve expanded in to other sectors such as baseball cards, where they purchased Topps, a legendary baseball card company).   I won’t be using their services , but admittedly very curious how well they’ll do.
1897  Economy / Economics / Re: A new dimension in the FTX saga: Sam doesn't read books! on: December 13, 2022, 12:14:12 AM
Unfortunately, Sam Bankman-Fried's views about compressing books in blog forms are shared by most youths of this generation. Most of them seem to be on the fast lane to achieve success without investing time in the foundational knowledge of a particular field or endeavor.

Regardless of the claims that learning should be concise and attractive, they cannot dispute the fact that knowledge and experience are not cheap. Yeah, quality and not quantity should be the benchmark of scoring a book but to get a piece of in-depth and comprehensive knowledge about a concept there is a need to gather information from diverse authors of different blogs, books, and other material. There is some vital information that is not available in blogs, you can only access them in books.

The former FTX boss has accepted to appear before the Senate Financial committee but he warned that his testimony wouldn't be helpful. He stated that his comments might not reveal what the lawmakers wanted because they would not be detailed.

You are certainly right in saying "Unfortunately, Sam Bankman-Fried's views about compressing books in blog forms are shared by most youths of this generation".  It's sad how the youth today has changed so much in this sense over time.

It's no surprise to me what so ever that he doesn't read books, or is dumb enough to say something like this.  I've never met a super intelligent person who doesn't read books, and a lot of.  This is just very telling to me.
1898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin unit look like in real life on: December 13, 2022, 12:11:46 AM
Gavin Andresen, former lead bitcoin developer (appointed by Satoshi) did come up with the idea of "physical bitcoins".  Essentially some posted a coin they had made which is thought to be the first ever produced and Gavin suggest they add and address to the coin by putting the private keys on the back of it, and cover it up.  ( see this and the historical timeline of physical bitcoins here- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5174217.msg52116521#msg52116521 ).

This sparked the first ever physical bitcoin/physical bitcoin wallet ever.  First BitBills were introduced, then shortly after Casascius.  Casascius made these coins as a way for people to better be able to grasp the concept of bitcoin.  He felt that if people had something in hand, it might help them to better understand the concept.  So this one thing you could try to use to help out.
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling techniques on: December 13, 2022, 12:00:28 AM
The only gambling techniques that I really have probably solely resign with poker, or Texas Hold'em to be more specific. This is easily my favorite games at the casino (roulette being a sizably distant second).  I think one of the main thigs, or techniques I use, is just ultra concentration.  Players often do different things when playing to try and psych out their opponent, and for me it's no different.  I just try and think of anything other than poker when I'm playing, especially when I've got a great hand or trying to bluff, this way I try and come of as even keeled as possible.  I try and always look the same..straight faced and calm.  Of course this only works for in person gambling, and not online.
1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 12, 2022, 11:50:32 PM
I'm curious who you guys would list as your top 5 players in the world right now? I think you've obviously have to include
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and Kevin Durant.  But after these three, I feel like it's pretty hard to round out the top 5.  I feel like Lebron is still in this category, although of course getting pretty close to longer being there.  But who else would you guys choose to round out your top 5?
