wait a minute. logged out and now can't log back in using same user id and unenrypted private key. get an "invalid rsa private key" message and then it locks up in "Executing" mode.
yeah, confirmed problem. got in initially, looked around, set up a new order, all no prob. logged off and tried to login again with same user id and unencrypted private key and now i get the above error.  |

try openssl.exe, or try to put the full path to the openssl executable. in that case do the private key and executable have to be in the same folder? |

In 8 months: 20/0.06 = 33333% (or 33332% GAIN) That's a monthly compounded rate of: 0.06 x (1+ n ) ^ 8 = 20 or n= (20 / 0.06 ) ^ (1/8) -1 n=1.06, or a 106% gain every month In other words, your value is 206% of last month's value (or approximately doubling every month.) Proof: 0.06 * 2.06 ^ 8 = 20 so to answer your question, doubling every month, for a year.... 2.06 ^ 12 = 5839, which is 583,900% You were off by a factor of 10. **note, I did monthly compounding. Continuous compounding will yield a different answer, but pretty close.** LOL, this is precisely why we believe in Bitcoin! |

don't laugh. several early adopters got btc at $.003 for a 633,333% rise given a 19 btc/shr. Bruce, the growth in price has been parabolic and won't continue like that forever or even for the intermediate term. no one knows for sure tho  |

I'm really sorry about this guys.
When I started glbse I was unsure how to handle this sort of issue, should people have their buy and sell orders cancelled because the withdraw btc from their account?
So I decided that people could make any order they liked, and it would show, but only be processed if there was a matching order for it. If any order that matches doesn't have enough shares or btc in their account then the order is removed.
I though people would be civil about it but it has turned out not to be the case.
So from tomorrow I will make the change.

At this point it would cost tens of millions to seriously disrupt the bitcoin economy, and while the big banks obviously have the capital to do it and it may be in their interest, I just can't see anyone convincing them of BitCoin being a threat. Mammoth corporations seem to be slow to move on things like this. The only ones who would be able to put that kind of money in are hedge funds, and they will probably try to profit on a huge run up in price first. If we start seeing multi million dollar trades I'd be worried, but for now it looks like all individuals so far.
banks work in terms of billions, no sweat. the majority of bitcoiners think the gov't/banks will try to make a move sometime in the future to shut us down. shorting us to oblivion is the most obvious way. the only way they could do this is to convince one of us to play in their sandbox by setting up an exchange allowing short selling denominated in USD. look how they've capped gold and silver. |

this ask IS an error. its impossible. someone needs to contact Nefario to fix that asap. i'm at work. i've sent an email to Nefario about this but no response yet. this order is an error unless glbse has allowed "short selling" which i know i has not. this puts a cap on the share price until we get this fixed guys so help me out. |

mtgox should never allow shorting of BTC denominated in USD terms b/c a JPM could respond to unlimited margin calls on shorting losses with unlimited USD's handed over to them by FerBanke. this permanent BTC short would hang over the BTC market like a dark cloud preventing any further BTC price rise or even worse, crashing it.
OTOH, if mtgox demands margin calls to be reserved with BTC, thats a different story and could be an opportunity to crush any short seller, JPM included.
