Maybe something like Tipbot as UserU said would be cool thing, but Bitcoin probably isn't best option for such thing and using other currencies - well, I hardly can imagine such thing.

The only other place that I know of to have such a tipping facility is Twitter which has a (third party add-on) which facilitates tips being sent via the Lightning Network.  I only have about 265 followers and follow about 65 users (and hardly ever mention bitcoin, or the forum for that matter) so I haven't bothered trying it out, but there are others here (at least one who had already posted) that might be able to provide some insight on how effective it is.

Have you tried the doubling your bet until you have reached a set target amount and then dropping your bet back to the base amount method where you slowly build up your winnings sticking strictly to amounts you feel you can afford to loose?

There's no point betting the house only to have the host refuse to pay or, where your connection isn't going to last.
1903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lucky BTC Holder Activates Bitcoin Wallet with $17.4 Million After 8.8 Years Fac on: September 24, 2021, 03:24:08 PM
I would imagine that there will be similar stories from more modern times of people squirreling away a few thousand dollars worth of bitcoin now (probably in paper wallets they forgot the location of, or, hardware wallets they forgot the passwords to) and, in years to come, those coins will have matured into tens of thousands of dollars worth of BTC.
1904  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia Claims Portal Registration on: September 24, 2021, 02:37:57 PM
If this is yet another front for a scammer data mining, then even if you yourself can't recall the information, the scammers might only need to look through your post history and make an educated guess as to whether or not the information will gain them access via one of the "real" methods of recovering funds.
1905  Other / Meta / Re: Donate option for bitcointalk staff on: September 24, 2021, 02:33:12 PM
No.

Just no.

A moderator or mod might be inclined to favour someone with merits if they knew funds were then going to land in their donation tipping jar at the end of the day/week/month just to give one example.

Banning, or even Nuking the occasional user would be another way admin / mods might earn money from "random" donations with no oversight.
1906  Other / Meta / Re: Banned words as usernames on: September 24, 2021, 02:29:47 PM
The underlying program SMF that this Forum is powered by has provision to add any and all words, real, or made up to it's list of banned from being used when registering a new user account.

Names such as those exampled previously in this thread are no doubt already on that list, but other words such as "forum" or indeed bitcointalk are probably added to prevent e.g bitcointalk.net being registered as a user name.
1907  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase raises $2 billion in junk bond sale on: September 24, 2021, 02:20:46 PM
However, how can $2 billion in junk bond sales be playground gossip? It was Moody’s that classified those bonds as junk bonds because of the cryptospace’s uncertain regulatory environment. I am also quite certain the documents of the sale has been processed and reported to the SEC.

I think we're straying away from the fact that this is how the sub-prime mortgage lending got out of hand with the debt on sold to whomever saw a chance to earn a quick buck that increasingly wasn't there.

Unlike the housing crash, there's no "tangible" item to recover or even abandon with crypto.  Coinbase might have cleared $2B of debt, but someone has to carry that debt until it's repaid (which I doubt will ever happen)

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are into yet another grand-final with their 36 - 16 win against the Manly Sea Eagles.

I've been out all evening and haven't been able to get a chance to review the game, but the score tells a tale of the Sea Eagles didn't make the grade on the night.  (I really thought their game had come together over the last four to six weeks - especially last week's thrashing of the Roosters 42 - 6).

Tomorrow we see whether the Storm or Panthers go head to head next week in the Grand Final.
1909  Economy / Reputation / Re: Known Alts of any-one - A User Generated List Mk III (2021 Q3) on: September 24, 2021, 02:02:24 PM
You should probably move your discussion to a separate topic since this topic is no longer what it should be.
Please move the citation to another thread. Perhaps other users will join your discussion and also express their opinion.

Actually as this is my thread I'm happy for it to continue (it's not going to last much longer given the compelling evidence being put forward by everyone).  People are being civil enough, and with each denial comes fresh investigations that uncover new leads that others can follow up.

@GeorgeJohn needs to weigh up how much longer they want to be in denial Vs how many more investigators will come in and pick through their prior post history.
1910  Other / Meta / Re: Ban evasion. on: September 23, 2021, 10:05:05 PM
I'm trying to understand the context of the exchange between the two quoted in the first post.

BlackViruse is stating they had a banned account in 2015 (which is presumably when that previous account was banned) while the cryptopreneurbrainboss seems to be telling BlackViruse to abandon that account and start again (and "trust no one").

Is the brainboss hinting at something to BlackViruse that would occur once they've created a new account ??

Apparently I'm in loss!

This is the same issue facing anyone with PoS coins that pay out high interest rates, there's a tendency to cash out the coins gained through interest (cash out the interest, keep the principle).

You should calculate the lower price times the total coins versus the original buy price and the number bought.

When I do my free rolls in a block of five to ten days and if there's enough to buy 100 FUN tokens, then I do ... And, once I accumulate 500 FUN, then I'm investing to earn the interest.

More FUN tokens = more free rolls = more FUN tokens .
1912  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin Forks -How to Claim the most valueable ones with Coinomi(trusted wallet) on: September 22, 2021, 10:59:11 PM
I found this website which looks better for finding forked coins:
https://findmycoins.ninja/

I do recall trying that site out a while ago, however, the wallet addresses I was looking at keep coming up with the following:

Quote
The address contains more transactions than allowed.

So I've just stuck with the one I referred to as I'm really only looking to recover what I can rather than delve too deep for fairly minor (and in my humble opinion) unnecessary forks.
1913  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin Forks -How to Claim the most valueable ones with Coinomi(trusted wallet) on: September 22, 2021, 01:10:13 AM
Hi, I've just come across this thread and would like to let you know that the Ballet Wallet  also imports forked Bitcoins (some of which the current version of coinomi doesn't handle)

I read a while ago the "trust wallet" can import, as can the Tangent Wallet HOWEVER, I can only confirm coinomi and Ballet Wallets as I have only tried them out.

Both coinomi and Ballet you can either import (via sweeping) as described above, or, go one step further and sell the forked coins via inbuilt exchanges within those wallet's apps (if you know what you are doing).

Given coinomi has more of the "major" forked Bitcoins, I would suggest anyone wanting to sweep and reclaim forked Bitcoins firstly import/sweep Bitcoin (original/core) then sweep to coinomi, then gather up any remaining forks that Ballet Wallet covers - depending on your preference for wallet apps.

These wallet apps don't cover all varieties of forked bitcoins, but they do encompass major forks.

Block Chair wallet explorer can give you a report on any forked coins sitting in otherwise empty wallet addresses.

As always, make backups, do your own research and make informed decisions before undertaking any of the above.

If anyone reading this would prefer to have someone else undertake this process, it's easy enough and I can do the above for you and send the extracted funds to you, or, sell/send proceeds.

Is there anyway to append settings to the end of the URL https://bitcoindata.science/bitcoin-units-converter.html so that I could bookmark the page to start with e.g. USD to AUD instead of default USD to EUR
1915  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: User @Pbacala scammer on: September 21, 2021, 11:22:01 PM
More reson to oppose any flags is rhetoric whereby "the end justifies the means" as in "by any means possible" which is a fundamentally flawed methodology.

Sad really.
1916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bullion (CBX) 'the Digital Precious Metal' | 2019 Roadmap published on: September 21, 2021, 08:26:40 PM
The problem is - the explorer (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/cbx/#) is on the wrong fork now. It should be contacted regarding the matter.

Also, someone should confirm if CREX24 is on the right chain.

cryptoid has gone onto the "wrong" fork with a few other coins.  From recollection sexcoin was one of them.  They corrected the issue once contacted, so there shouldn't be an issue there.

Hopefully Crex24 have a dev support hotline - do we know who it was that arranged for Bullion to be listed on their exchange?

I'm now at block 3892460 found a minute ago.
1917  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: User @Pbacala scammer on: September 21, 2021, 11:27:45 AM
I had supported the flag in this thread, then the accused spotted this comment in the other thread:

https://ninjastic.space/post/57985305

I have looked @colires's profile before, I know he is very suspicious, so I didn't actually delete PM, instead, I fake a screenshot and sent to him.

I think both scam accusations need to be looked at a little more closely given the accuser has stated they faked a part of their evidence.

I am withdrawing my support of the flag.
1918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: September 21. HUGE dump! on: September 21, 2021, 11:13:01 AM
As per Binance exchange, the 24 hours low of bitcoin is $42,500, so what's next?

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but it's already 11:10 GMT on the 21st of September, 2021 and the price of bitcoin is hovering around $ 43,380 according to Bitcoin Units Converter.

The price goes up, then down, then up or down (or even sideways) ...  But it hasn't "crashed" ...  Are you sure it wasn't just a pothole in the road?
1919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zimbabwe minister urges citizens to embrace Bitcoin on: September 21, 2021, 11:09:29 AM
I would have referred to Zimbabweans as having adopted bitcoin as their base currency rather than implying bitcoin was ever illegal and suddenly it's become a legitimate commodity in that it has been legalised (in the same way soft drug use is legalised in some countries after being illegal for decades).

My block chain count is up to block 3891970 which arrived in the last few minutes, so I guess my block-chain is on the forked chain.

So, I guess the question that needs to be asked is:  If we are all on the same block-chain, does it really matter?
