1901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: GLOBEDX VIDEO CONTEST - $10,000USDT PRIZE POT on: May 19, 2021, 04:46:30 PM
They have announced it here: https://twitter.com/globedx/status/1394953235115352065

The thread starter forgot to make an announcement reply here, so I just manually browsed it on their official Twitter account.

My entry didn't make it, but I respect their decision despite spending a lot of time and effort in doing the video for them. I know that videos with real person facing the camera is allowed as the thread starter says, but it looks like I ain't doing enough. It's a contest anyway so I know the risks, so their decision is final and these guys deserve to win.

Anyways, congratulations to the winners!

Thanks to Elon boy, his tweets alone influenced the entire market whether bullish or bearish. Although that he is free to express his opinions, but it is what it is. The positive side of it is that we could finally buy back at lower prices. Like me of course, I wanna buy back BTC when it is going to be bearish, so it's a good opportunity because I know that the next wave of bull run is going to come anytime soon, but we don't know when will it be.

1906  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: reasons for bad trading on: May 15, 2021, 12:39:49 PM
many times while trading we let our goals down and get greedy or fearsome. the problem are the reason behind, mostly psychological reasons.
two scenarios

a. price went +20% up, we dont sell.
reasons
we dont need the money now
we anticipate more gains         (greed, market sentiment)
we see others with more gains (greed, jealousy)
we dream of million                 (greed, new life vision)

b. price went -25% down, we sell.
reasons
 we need the money now
we are fearing it will crash more          (fear, market sentiment)
we doubt our initial decision to buy      (judgement by single point of time)
we see others leaving the investment   (fear, mass psychology, group)
we see other investment that are not -25% (fear)

thats why many books advice to trade in smaller steps.  dont go with a gut feeling, set a goal and stick to it.

the biggest impacts to our psychology? maybe the media, the news, the rumors.
we read something and anticipate that it will move 'others' and so we act on our own.
we do it, but we have no idea what it should mean. what should a musk tweet mean to a price? 3%? 10%? what should india banning crypto mean?

It’s always important for us to set our stop loss no matter if it’s spot, margin, futures, derivatives or copy trading. Been there done that. If we don’t do this, it’s one of the reasons that the way we trade is bad if that certain coin or token is going downhill.
1907  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you see yourself quitting after this bullrun? on: May 15, 2021, 12:26:32 PM
I currently have a couple of crypto jobs right now. If I had that big amount, I would choose not to quit even after this bullrun until my guts tell me that it’s the right time. Let’s say if I had that amount, I would maintain my job while diversifying my funds to invest in real assets like land, property, etc., or starting a passive income business with real products, etc. Coz’ for me, having no work makes me bored. Like my parents right now, they are both retired and no work, and they admitted that they are bored and looking to work on something.
1908  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elon Musk loses $20B since SNL..would you believe? on: May 15, 2021, 12:19:32 PM
Here's the complete article.

Elon Musk loses $20B since SNL, as Michael Saylor comes out firing

Quote
Tesla stock has dipped 14% since Elon Musk appeared on SNL, with Musk estimated to have lost $20 billion in that time frame.

Elon Musk has reportedly lost $20 billion since his May 8 appearance on Saturday Night live, as the news of Tesla halting BTC payments for cars continues to send shockwaves across markets.

On May 7, the day before Musk made his appearance on SNL, Tesla stock was sitting at $669. In the week since the stock has declined 14% to sit around $573. According to Forbes estimates, this sudden drop has seen Musk’s $166 billion net worth plunge by $20 billion down to around $145.5 billion.

The 14% drop this week adds to an overall downward trend for Tesla stock over the past 30 days. On April 14 TSLA shares were sitting at $784. Today's price of $573 marks a 26.91% decrease over this period according to data from Tradingview.

If this is true, then why Elon would make such a stupid action?

He is not stupid, let's say he loses in this portion but for sure he has made a profit more than he loses.

That’s karma for him. But ever since he made that filthy comment about Tesla not accepting Bitcoin anymore due to “environmental” concerns, I truly lost my respect to him. For just a statement like that, it wiped out billions in market capitalization, only for DOGE to come up a few days later with his next ridiculous statement.

We can’t just let him control the whole market with his strong influence, you know? Of course, the bears would be happy because they can buy back at discounted prices, but eventually the market would quickly recover.

1911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla no longer accepts Bitcoin payments on: May 13, 2021, 12:19:21 PM
Now this Elon boy here is playing us like puppets! Bitcoin is now trading at $49k+ after trading sideways between $56k to $58k range. I know this market correction is normal, because we’ve been there before. After Bitcoin reached all-time high of $64k, it flash crashed down to $47k before slowly recovering back above $55k. His announcement alone takes us by storm where the whales took advantage of that crash and starts manipulating our minds and will be buying back at their targeted price.
1912  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin correction thread. on: May 13, 2021, 12:07:53 PM
1913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Token. on: May 13, 2021, 11:58:17 AM
I had a colleague of mine who encouraged me to buy Shiba Inu last time, but I didn’t listen. When it was announced to get listed on Binance, SHIB has skyrocketed. However, it still doesn’t have a real use case and fundamentals like DOGE. As I was still waiting for SHIB to plunge even further as I am setting up my buy order, one friend of mine told me that SHIB would only pump if there are new exchange announcements. As Binance is the biggest one, I think SHIB already reached it’s high price and we don’t know when it will be seeing SHIB in that all-time high price again.
1914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you bought with Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2021, 11:52:05 AM
The recent item that I have actually bought with Bitcoin was vitamins. I got a friend of mine who is a licensed distributor, in which he is the one providing me the supplements. However, when I asked him if he likes to be paid with Bitcoin, he didn’t hesitate to say yes and our transaction was smooth.
1915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for the next Doge! on: May 12, 2021, 12:37:48 PM
I came across this video( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2NE1OebVNw) the other day which refreshed my understanding of NFT!

Digora aims to bring Native Blockchain Gaming and Asset-Arewarding NFTs into the mainstream.

I don't know if it will be a success, but I'm looking forward to the performance of this project.

Looking for the next Doge...

I remember the time when my colleague advised me to buy some Shiba Inu coins last time, but I didn’t listen because it’s just another meme coin like “It’s the next Dogecoin” with no fundamentals and real use cases. Now it is on the top 20 in market capitalization on CoinMarketCap, I guess I have missed the hype boat. Could have bought some and take profit with it because I know it’s not long term. Now there are other “Inu” tokens out there like the Sanshu Inu, Akita Inu, Hokkaido Inu, etc.

They’re remain to be funny dog-themed meme coins and not going to be very good to hold in the long run. If you are just so alert in the charts, you can easily take profit when it “moons” high.
1916  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency, now a fast rising trend! on: May 12, 2021, 12:29:22 PM
It is mate! Congratulations to us who are sticking on with our crypto journey. I have to admit that when I was jobless in the early of 2020, I almost give up on crypto and slowly transitioning myself to travel niche. However, pandemic has started and it ruined my plans. So what I did? I got back into crypto! I was desperate until finally I landed a crypto job, then saved some money, hungry for more income opportunities like getting back into participating airdrops and bounty programs, etc.

The trend did starting off with the Paypal announcement and the rise of DeFi and NFTs. It will continue for a very long time. This market is still very young as of the moment, so we have to take advantage!
1917  Economy / Economics / Re: people stop complain about economy and ccovid on: May 12, 2021, 12:17:11 PM
Here’s what I am feeling about the COVID-19 pandemic now:

Positive side - Of course, crypto bull runs. While under the pandemic, it gives me the opportunity to strengthen my portfolio and learn new skills. As a result, I’m a full time crypto Youtuber. Been doing so many videos unlike in the past few years. Got consistent ambassador tasks, sponsored videos, exclusive interviews with various projects, airdrops and bounty programs, contests, etc. In the end, so many opportunities right here in the crypto world. Before the world returns to normal, I am saving as much as I can and lesser on expenses. And of course, my goal is to become financial literate in which my income should be bigger than my expenses.

Negative side - Getting bored with my daily routine. No mass gatherings allowed. Daily curfews. Feeling jealous of others who have traveled during the pandemic, especially those who are in Dubai. As Philippines is currently in the second wave, traveling cross-region and overseas is so difficult due to border restrictions, ridiculous swab test and quarantine costs, etc. I am so disappointed with the efforts of the government, but salute to the medical frontliners. As for the police, they’re not doing enough too. And there are still many stubborn people defying health protocols by choosing their own happiness rather than for the benefit of our country.
1918  Economy / Speculation / Re: One Year After The 2020 Halving, Bitcoin Price Has Gained 533% on: May 12, 2021, 12:05:09 PM
I remember the time Roger Ver personally sent me $10 worth of BCH in a blockchain conference in the Philippines almost 3 years ago. However I quickly sold it when it was over $20. That time, BCH was hovering around $200 to $300. If I could have hold it until now, I would have gained even more lol.

Hello digitalgold manager
Why did I not receive my tokens last month?

Digital Gold contract was attacked by hacker and everything is on hold, we wait for the team to develop new contract.

Check their main thread or Telegram group for more info.

Will there be a 1:1 swap or just snapshot? I have temporarily stopped participating in Digital Gold bounty until the new contract is up. I have seen the contract but no holders or any activity yet, so I think auditing hasn’t finished yet.
1920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: GLOBEDX VIDEO CONTEST - $10,000 PRIZE POT on: May 11, 2021, 09:45:19 AM

What is Globe about?

Globe is a crypto derivatives exchange where institutions and consumers transact digital currencies like Bitcoin via perpetual futures contracts. Perpetual futures are a derivative product that tracks the underlying index price. They’re in high demand as they enable hedging and risk management, short exposure, and trading with leverage. This platform remains the only low latency, institutional grade crypto derivatives exchange open to the public, delivering 3 microsecond latencies and extreme throughput and performance during major market moves. Moreover, Globe’s open access data and Globe Research helps level the playing field data-wise between traders and institutional investors

Globe's Partners and Investors

Globe has raised $3m in a seed funding round. Some of the investors are Y Combinator, Pantera Capital, Tim Draper's Draper Dragon Fund, and Wavemaker Partners, among others. Hence why Globe has been given the name ''the Coinbase for Derivatives'', since Y combinator was one of the first investors in Coinbase back in 2021.
