This week is going to be really exciting. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) only a day and a half to make adam lose his bet...better get moving! then again i'd be just as happy if we stayed 30 +- 1 for awhile Agreed. I'd be delighted if we consolidated here for a few weeks or months.

Wrapping things up, the best news of the day may be this: https://btcjam.com/listings/2053 ... Check out the collateral as BTC-TC assets functionality! Very cool use of the BTC-TC OAuth API. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Kudos to the BTCJAM team! This is a brilliant addition to both BTCJam and BTCT.CO! One question though...what happens to dividends paid to shares whilst they're being utilized as loan collateral?

I like the way how you're trying to improve the quality of new assets on btct.co, but I'm not so sure about the black market tab. I feel it's just going to lead to a lot of faulty assets, untrustworthy issuers or ponzi schemes being traded on the black market. If the moderators has voted no for it, it shouldn't be trading. It won't be trading unless five moderators have already voted yes though, so I don't understand your reservations. What about an asset with 3 YES votes and 8 NO votes? It'll be stuck there forever until four more people vote no? A newly listed asset with 3 yes and 8 no votes would not be traded as it takes 5 yes votes to be listed. If this theoretical company then received 2 more yes votes(5y8n) then it would appear on the main market screen. If the asset then received 7 more no votes it would then be moved to the black market. At least that's my understanding...I'm certain someone smarter 'n me will correct me if I'm insufficiently caffeinated.

Maybe this is answered in previous 100 pages of posts... Why can't they use https://btct.co/ ? No one really trusts btct.co. I'd rather see it on BitFunder. Curious why you believe BitFunder is trustworthy and BTCT.CO is not?

Bullshit Fabrication continues.
"The ASIC team has promised me pictures of the wafer tomorrow, Tuesday the 26th. As soon as I get those, I will be posting them."
26th has come and gone with no update. Josh should probably start saying " maņana" "unemployment sucks" given how often "tomorrow" turns out to be at least a week later than estimated. FTFY

The point of me going was to see they are for real and they are doing what they say they are doing. I look forward to seeing a more detailed description of your time at BFL's facilities. It still seems like unless you saw something ASIC hashing with your own eyes that there's still significant risk that there will be further delays that could render current orders unprofitable or stretch ROI into years.

Why fly a guy all the way from Australia to see store rooms of boxes? Why didn't they wait till they had something to show off?

friedcat, do we know when the share trading platform will come online? (Of course getting up boards is the priority.) Does anyone know the fair market price? I saw some trade at .38 recently. Thanks! They've traded @ up to .52 recently. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144676.20

They're bumping orders placed at least EIGHT months ago from the first batch to the second batch with a questionable decision and as we already know BFL can generate delays from nowhere so there's no guarantee that those sacrifices will yield any streamlining going forward at all.
|
|
|
It's simple at the moment as you cannot order from Avalon until batch 3 opens anyway and placing an order with BFL will not result in a product anytime soon...if ever.
I suggest you wait for more information and then choose a vendor when there's a choice to be made.

I love how bitcoin attracts all the assholes and dicks. It is just a magnet for gold bugs, speculators, tech guys, thefts, and real dick faces. Someone has a different opinion, god forbid. To all the haters suck it fags. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ...you forgot to mention the immature homophobic clique.

Do you need to know any programming or how to code anything to setup an Avalon miner? No. Is it as easy as downloading the miner program and setting up a worker and ahead you go? Does anyone know what would go into setting one up, and what you need to know or BUT beforehand? Thanks. Looks pretty st8forward and easy to me. Most of this stuff has been addressed in user threads threads available here and elsewhere: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140539.0...as to comparisons to BFL gear ease of use, one can only speculate as no end users have their gear.

Same, save that I ordered on the 3rd and opened a support ticket on the fourth. Not a peep from Avalon more than three weeks later.
Close this ticket and open a new one. Do this every week till you get a response... Thanks, I guess I will have to do just that. Pester them until they stop ignoring me...sigh.

Has anything ever gone well for BFL? No doubt a lengthy string of really good luck is right around the corner.
Seems strange that they'd delay five months and then choose to render 16% of their first batch of chips unusable to pick up a week or two(hopefully), but they're the self proclaimed experts.
Goodness no, BFL is terrible at making predictions. I usually take their updates with a grain of salt and add 2-3 weeks onto any date they give. Shipping March 9th? Naw, probably April 6th. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) And I agree..killing an entire wafer seems a bit silly, but then again what the hell do I know about chip development. With only 5000 chips, they'll probably only be able to fill June/July orders (assuming they get all 5000). Odds of 100% yield from the first batch of chips? > or < 5%? This makes their early order customer compensation plan seem more like forward looking damage control than anything else. I don't know too much about chip development either, but this update doesn't pass the common sense test. There's information missing or information being fabricated.

There is no way anyone sane is going to run linux under windows in a VM..
I find it extremely handy to do just that. +1 I do this daily.

I figured another delay would more than likely be the case. Maybe they'll start shipping by the end of March if "all goes well"? Has anything ever gone well for BFL? No doubt a lengthy string of really good luck is right around the corner. Seems strange that they'd delay five months and then choose to render 16% of their first batch of chips unusable to pick up a week or two(hopefully), but they're the self proclaimed experts.

Like I said Bryan, I'll leave the thread when you stop lying and leave the BFL threads. Until such time, too bad, suck it up.
Bryan Micon claims BFL is a scam, and also claims he is a "professional gambler" but is unwilling or unable to provide any evidence that BFL is a scam and is unwilling to back up his claim with a bet of any sort.
My open offer for a bet: BFL will ship the promised products within a reasonable time frame (as determined by a reputable member of this community, I propose Casascius). I offer BTC from 100 BTC to 2000 BTC. I am also willing to accept the domain name joshzerlan.com in lieu of BTC on the part of Bryan Micon. Nine months seems like a more than reasonable time frame, can we expect BFL to deliver in March 2013 then?

-snip- ..... I would love for the Avalon team to post in here and give some confirmation to how many units are confirmed as shipped and dispatched. ......
They have no time to answer emails, now what makes you think........... They're winning the race because they shipped first, and also they're Chinese, just saying.... does not make me think at all other than Avalon are doing a fantastic job at actually getting the job done. They suck at CS, but they're whooping the competition at getting units off the drawing board and onto the network.
