Nice news but this is not the forum for this.  I believe "Services" in the Marketplace is the proper place for this commercial discussion.  Thanks.

100K BTC were sent here if anyone noticed.  Just sitting their:

https://blockchain.info/address/1E9k79dLuhfspdEtymzP7vhaYVGFcdfsYs

That was 4 days ago and it was noticed by Spekulatius right after they moved. I see you didn't read the thread before posting. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=94675.msg1111659#msg1111659
Also, they are not sitting there. They moved 18 hrs after landing on that address, so I'll take it you also didn't open the link you posted Grin

No I didn't read tens of pages of posts and I did actually open the link.  You can see where they went below.  I was just doing a little research.   Go drink some coffee, little short on the quips today.

I am also interest but I would want to discount it more aggressively.   Verification is also required.   PM if you want to discuss terms.

Kindly,

Moderators,

Please move this to the "long-term offers" sub-section where this belongs.  Thanks
Thanks for the bump.

Nah, you're doing it wrong. You must attract the masses. It's like this :

Sorry my humor fund is already maxed out today... but it was funny.

That was not a bump so no thanks needed.  You could learn where that forum is and post in it next time, than spamming this one?

1911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The original Bitcoin client sucks. on: August 19, 2012, 08:01:20 PM
It takes forever to get started and I bet most people who are new to Bitcoin pick it up, get tired of it and move on.

Why hasn't the development team created a thin client yet?
Without the original client we would all be fucked. It is the only fully validating bitcoin node in existence.
Servers and miners can run it. Regular, dumb people like me don't care and don't want to bother with it.

If you want Bitcoin to continue to be a small, geek currency, then please keep forcing this slow, CPU-intensive software down our throats.

As for your lite clients, people who type "Bitcoin" in google never learn about them. It took me forever to find http://blockchain.info/wallet because it doesn't get the privilege of being called "official".

I am working on a solution to this problem as we speak.    I agree it doesn't need tools for a average person to get involved.

Hello!

I noticed that this thread is lacking Stefan Thomas's great loss of 7000 BTC. With this included, the new total is:

45669.33589602

I'll come clean too, I got into this when CPU mining was the way (0.2 client).   I don't want to go into details be here is the damage:

27,000 BTC

New Total:  BTC72,669.33589602

OMG I feel for you. Must suck knowing that you threw away at CEILING Half a million dollars Sad

Here... You may use my vomit bucket. Just please don't jump off a building!

Nah, I am good.  First thing I did was do a forensic data scan on the drive to look for fragments.  I only found 5BTC literally.   What it told me is that Bitcoin was getting serious and I told myself I am going to make a second go at it.    BTC were worth .002 USD at the time so I didn't pay much attention.

1914  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low before you buy in? on: August 19, 2012, 05:28:15 PM

Crazy times. I'm enjoying every moment of it.

Indeed. We all did ourselves a great disservice. This is not going to make the general public trust Bitcoin. And trust of the general public is what can drive the price into the 5-digit range. So for some puny "profits", which are bound to be the losses of someone else, we blow it.
Sorry, going to disagree with you again.

Imho bitcoin isn't ready to go mainstream yet, the basic services are still being built up, the core is being tweaked and fleshed out and, with what we're seeing now, the user base is being pruned down to a solid core.

We can all see what happened at the start of bitcoins life, when I first heard about bitcoin I saw that and walked away. Zoom out on the graph now and this is nothing more than a minor glitch, not enough to scare those away who will do some research and understand how it works and what happened here but enough to scare off those just looking for easy money that will run at the first sign of trouble.

Bitcoin is like anything new on the net, acceptance takes time, could be a year, could be 10. There is no point trying to rush things because we'll be rushing to nowhere and when it collapses under its own weight it will put folks off for good, there's competition coming. Better to build up slowly on solid foundations and beat them simply by being better.

+1  - I feel the same way.  I am currently working on projects to help build more plumbing for BTC.   I am watching the charts and will be making some purchases once I see what I am looking for.   That goodness for reading all those technical analysis books.

Many think there will be no flooding come monday, or ever.

Exactly.  And some (myself) are ready to place buy orders if prices remain at 11ish or go any lower.

I stand ready.  In the big picture, there are only 21 million of these units.    Great time to buy.
1916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin QE on: August 16, 2012, 10:35:47 PM
I believe at this point it would be wise to draw a distinction between exchange unit and wealth.   Many people believe Bitcoin to be both.   If you raised the limit you would then reduce Bitcoin's ability to be a storage medium of wealth.  The problem is that we already have many exchange mediums in circulation (Dollars, Euros, Won, etc...), what we are lacking is more mediums to store wealth.  This is one of the reasons I believe Bitcoin is so popular and has been appreciating.

As soon as you loosen the supply, it ceases to be one of the par excellence stores of wealth and you would see people not use it for this reason and likely that would open the door for another crypto-unit to fill that role, promising to never increase the supply.   We need more value storage in a time of unprecedented credit & debt expansion.

Please consider these words and let us know what you think.

I don't know what's funnier, that you spent so much time writing all of that, or that you think anyone is actually reading it.

And the intellectual acumen of the population slips another minuscule degree toward total animalistic barbarism.

So, you're advocating the intellectual acumen of the population slipping towards animalistic barbarism?

Nope, just advocating a user of this forum pointing it out in this thread.

So you're agreeing with him. Glad we came to that understanding.

Actually if you took time to read the thread, he was pointing out your comment above that quote.   Your attempt at whit actually provided material for a quite entertaining comment.

Are you really that dense?

No but you "seem" clueless on this.  Just try a little harder.
