1901  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a trading strategy becomes obsolete? on: December 20, 2022, 08:21:00 AM
The reason why you thinking like this is because trading strategies are not 100% correct strategies at all. The reason why self-proclaimed gurus are going to promote them is to gain their own popularity and spread their own shitcoins. No strategy will ever be a full proof one.

The only thing that is going to help is buying low and selling high. Rest all indicators are going to only give a prediction and that too will end up 50% correct.

Eventually what I have learnt is that day trading is tough, but in long term trading, just stick to what I said, you will gradually gain profits.
1902  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Expose] Licitcoins.com Hype Project on: December 20, 2022, 08:03:54 AM
I've been reporting projects like this and it seems many more are coming especially during the holiday season,
It is not because of holidays, scam season is all year round, just that the number of such scams getting reported might be more. If you want to search out hyips you will find bucketloads of them all over the internet, some accepting fiat while others accept crypto.

What we can do is to call them out of their scamming techniques and deception so that a wise newbie does not fall for them while inciting a thinking mind to those who might be cautious but less experienced.

Reporting the domain to the registrar is another step many of us can perform.
1903  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your work. on: December 19, 2022, 03:53:49 PM
Entrepreneurship and investment have certain risks. Working for your own business or company is a great idea, but it's not easy. Entrepreneurship must have a lot of financial support, not every venture can be successful, you must have patience and persevere.
We have entrepreneurs who set up their own company and then sell it to the highest bidder, following that with another startup and selling that too, so called serial entrepreneurs. Such people are often held as "gurus" but it is mostly due to their contacts and their ability to build relationships quickly with the proper people, mostly lenders and investment bankers who are willing to invest in them. Hence finances are obviously important but again such people are also having a huge saving to rely back on if they wish to.

Doing what you love to do should be the goal. That can be a job or a business, it does not matter, but your passion should be for that. Again every type of work has its pros and cons, the latter should not drag you down.
1904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next generations on bitcoin on: December 19, 2022, 10:09:01 AM
Oh my friend, why do you make predictions so far from reality? All of us here won't be able to live another 100 years so there's no point in discussing events in the next 100 years. Work hard to earn bitcoins now and just hold it for the next 10 years, you can get big profits even become rich.
In a sense the OP is talking about alternative currencies than bitcoin. They do exist in large numbers, but their effectiveness is questionable. In so many years, a lot of things might happen so predictions are difficult and not feasible to make.

Even then I would say that during our life time we can make profits from bitcoin as much as we want to. Who knows if this world will remain inhabitable in the next few years, so why bother, just live and earn as you wish.

A bitcoin replacement may never actually appear, so just let them be.
1905  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Friends and Family members want me to invest for them, help! on: December 19, 2022, 10:02:21 AM
I think that the best thing to inform them is concerning the risk that's involve via investment, Bec their is no investment that doesn't warrant a risk measure, so if you can be able to educate them of the lost which is involved in investment, i will strictly advice to let know the implication of investment before accepting the offer to invest run an investment for them.
Taking the responsibility of some other person's investment is going to lead you into trouble, this is what I understand. There are things you can teach them and allow them to learn new things about investment but allow them to do this on their own instead of spoon feeding.

Assume they lose money, the blame will fall on your shoulders and you will have no place to escape then.

Tough situation when family members get involved. Just make sure you give the disclaimer.
1906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High Profit Projects Are Prone To Scam on: December 19, 2022, 09:52:22 AM
Unrealistic returns are always going to tempt the newcomers and the effect of that is going to be scam. This is known all across this forum but not among these newbies. They end up getting into the wrong coins at the start and they complain about not reaching profits.

High yeild projects are going to be quick fails to any average investor. The only such coin that can give a good return with time is bitcoin. Altcoins are going to worth nothing in a few years after their launch as tokens, so be cautious about them.

Being FOMOed about newly launched coins means loss for any investor.
1907  Economy / Lending / Re: Is there Any kind of Frauds Happen without collateral? on: December 18, 2022, 10:46:52 AM
So some people might give people Money by only their Bitcointalk profile. So there might be chances of Scams cause they might flee and never return crypto from whom they have gotten.
If your account has been active in many trades and has built up a reputation from providing services and work related stuff, some lender might be willing to give you a loan based on your reputation. But this is the risk that the lender is taking on their own shoulders to hope for the person to repay back in time.

For example, a reputed bounty manager on this forum ends up in a bad time and seeks a loan to pay back over the next few months, chances of them getting a loan here would be higher than average users here.

Obviously a newbie driving by the lending section dropping a loan request without a collateral but a bitcoin address posted, would never be able to get a loan.

If you want to maximize your chance of getting a loan, offer a valid collateral which is >120% of the loan value.
1908  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Celicafinance.com - Ponzi scheme on: December 18, 2022, 09:35:48 AM
120% after 1 day - LMFAO, These guys should enroll for the "I smoked too much pot last night" competition.

They are made for the greedy and ignorant chaps who think you can actually make money without any effort  Grin
It's 2022, and it's intriguing that people still get scammed by such Ponzi schemes. It's the reason why those sites keep popping up every day. It seems to be a lucrative business for scammers
They actually reduced their frequency of making threads in this forum after the introduction of the flag system since it is now very easy to mark an account with a flag and allow non-members to see that flag from outside too. Therefore the negative marketing and hence they keep to websites that pedel such HYIPs without restrictions more often.

The people visiting such shady sites which collect the newly launched HYIPs are also of the get-rich-quick mindset while the host ends up making some good affiliate commission from every signup depositing there.

1909  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Defaulted [edgycorner] on: December 18, 2022, 09:28:56 AM
I hope shasan gets their money back. The pain endured by the lender on having a borrower ghost them with an active non-collateral loan is only known by someone who has been a lender in the past. Good to see that the accused responded here, but I would keep my fingers crossed for now. Just because they responded now does not indicate they would pay back in time.

Flag supported for now, if the accused pays back the loan + interest and compensation as declared by in this thread, I would withdraw my support of the flag.
1910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters, how much you really earned in the last two years? on: December 17, 2022, 11:40:18 AM
I was attempting bounty hunting back in 2016-2017 in 20 something number of projects after which I stopped participating in them. Till date those shitcoins are in my ethereum wallet and only one of those projects have given me decent returns, that is BCDiploma token/EvidenZ (BCDT). I was able to sell a stash of them at the all time high and have been holding to the other half of the stash for even more gains in future. The second one would be Viberate (VIB) which was an additional payment on a signature campaign, but have performed much better previously after launch and then went to dumps only to reincarnate a few months back.

To be honest, these are needles in a haystack and I therefore dont recommend and neither do I myself participate in these campaigns. But I doubt any of those bounty hunters are actually going to read this and write a comment.
1911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing with your alt bags on: December 17, 2022, 11:30:41 AM
I am only holding those shitcoins that I got from some bounties long time back. The only major altcoin I own is Ethereum and I am not buying any more of it buy holding on what I already have.

With the drop in prices in many altcoins, I am sure its holders would be in a bad situation right now not being able to make the decision to buy or sell. But I am sure they were warned previously about this on this forum, that altcoins are unpredictable and can get down in the dumps in a matter of hours.

I agree that price of bitcoin might go down and this is where keeping the money for buying bitcoin comes in.
1912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Education programs should cover Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. on: December 16, 2022, 08:12:22 AM
Cybercrime and cyber awareness should be the bigger topics to introduce in the k-12 classes instead of jumping into bitcoin and blockchain. We don't want to be a cult based on books, a good example of what we don't want to be in the religious sects. Rather bitcoin is an epitome of free speech not propaganda.

Once children are primed with the knowledge of how to remain safe on the internet they can learn about their financial options and opportunities. There all types of assets should be shown to them and allowed to make free choices.

You cannot force feed people into allowing crypto currency - you have give them time to understand it's benefits over others.
1913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What is Airdrop in Crypto? on: December 16, 2022, 08:03:14 AM
I am being serious, who hunts airdrops in this time when you have so many signature campaigns to go into and bounties if you are so desperate to get some shitcoins.

Airdrops might sound like a good thing but they collect a lot of your data and sometimes even KYC data which is dangerous if it falls in the wrong hands. Being greedy will land you up in such situations where your identity might get stolen and you will be blackmailed.

So if you willing to make money, get a job in real life and join a signature campaign in this forum. You will get a decent amount of BTC to keep it running and saving.
1914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next crypto craze? on: December 16, 2022, 07:58:50 AM
Metaverse and web 3.0 seem to be the topic of discussion on this thread. These have been suggested recently so I guess that is why people are clinging onto them as the next big thing beyond initial *bleep* *bleep* offerings. Still metaverse is something that will take more development to happen in real and like social media will be a big market. Let's hope we use these for gains and not to get addictee like the youth currently on social media.

Even then web 3.0 is going to have good effect on the overall growth of the crypto ecosystem and internet.
1915  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accumulation phase is out!? on: December 15, 2022, 07:59:46 AM
With this type of market, it is hard to rely on previous pattern as the situation is different from previous years.
You can if you look at the big picture and for long term hodlers that is important.

Quote
Just consider the adoption, I believe more people are into this market today if we compare it in the last couple of years.
Logically the all time high should be shifted upwards then. More the reason to accumulate at the lower price. We have to be ready with fiat and bitcoin but our objective would be to accumulate more.

During times of positive news more and more positive news come in leading to a bull-rage. That is the time of euphoria coming in, people come to learn of bitcoin at these time but this is the wrong time to buy. Patience is what is tested at this stage.
1916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Destroy Crap Altcoins? on: December 15, 2022, 07:45:58 AM
Crap altcoins will continue to exist because someone out there will always buy and sell or use them. Bitcoin's only relation to these altcoins is that the purchase of the latter needs the former because fiat is not the trading pair for each or them.

No crypto can be literally "destroyed" it is more like being "abandoned" and nobody is using it anymore. While new ones will continue to flood the market I doubt their number will reduce anytime soon. Because of the "get-rich-quick" screaming appearance of most of these altcoins at the start, the new investors will always buy them instead of going for bitcoin.

My view on bitcoin is that it is always profitable if bought at the low price. No such thing as dividend period or stable period here. Been watching for several years now and I know that the cycles continue if you watch closely.
1917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is your local game includes in online casino ? on: December 15, 2022, 07:34:36 AM
Local games are rarely included in casinos, they are usually filled with the games that are commonly run in mainstream sports channels and are well known globally. Instead if you are into gambling on local games, this can be done inside the location by a bookie - or in other other words physically. Again local laws on gambling will start to be applicable here. A good example is how the hen-fighting games happen.

I would defenitely feel proud to see local games getting included in casinos, this will drive the people playing on the casino and bring in the locals. It might also motivate the indigenous people to continue these games as traditions and that is one thing we must all strive to keep up.
1918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just how bad is the bear market right now? on: December 14, 2022, 02:35:06 PM
the crypto market is not as bad compared to the 2018 bear run, though the bear is not yet over. It is obvious that the crypto winter continues into 2023, and there is no end in sight, just in my opinion. As I observed the movements, it looked like the bear would go for a longer time than we may have expected.
I would be expecting some changes as the year end closes in, but that is classically known to be a bear run, so I am not sure whether it will end  up being a prolonged bear market or a bullish trend, consider the fact that prices of major assets are inching upwards currently.

While every bear market is bad, comparing how bad or how good will not result in anything fruitful. Rather it is the amount of assets that you can gather during this "hunting season" what matters. Because when the bull market starts, prices will go beyond your reach for weeks and at that time everyone will sulk around saying that they dont have the asset at hand to sell and are panic buying shitcoins which might be within their reach will huge chunks from their salary, eventually leading to disastrous outcome in the next bear cycle.
1919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many chickens own BTC. Don't be a chicken, HODL! BE A LION. on: December 14, 2022, 02:25:48 PM
It’s okay because not everyone is as confident in their decision making skills as you may be. Everyone has a different goal so we need to respect that. Those who wish to hold, should continue and those who want to sell, should do as they please.
Fact is if the weak hands dont sell, the whales get nothing to buy at a discount, so as long as there are weak hands there will be whales and the speculative market will continue like usual. There is nothing about being a chicken as long as you are making a profit. I too consider people to have their own opinions and exercise them freely.

Often people are in dire need of money and they have to sell at losses, you have to blame the circumstances for that not a wronged decision. Now there are people who are selling at loss because they are sick of holding after buying at a high, these people have made a mistake in trading at the wrong price, so they learn their lesson.
1920  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are the Whales Control bitcoin price? on: December 13, 2022, 04:09:00 PM
I'll say a baseless but true feeling that I think someone or an institution is controlling the bitcoin price.
The math here goes against that statement and you are free to believe what you feel is true, but if you can't back your belief with evidence you should be skeptical about it in the first place.

Thinking that some big thing is behind your loss is a common delusion that people have but the truth is that Bitcoin is decentralised and no one address controls to anything here.

If you dwell in trading for too long without the proper mindset these thoughts come in more commonly so keep a watch on your state while you trade.
