1901  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [POLL] Pros and Cons of open publickey lists of collectibles on: May 05, 2019, 10:04:29 PM
I can see the concerns regarding transparency. I am torn here.
The thing about public addresses is, that it doesn't prevent key-theft. It just would be exposed quicker. However if the coin owners check their pub-keys themselves, a key theft would be detected quite easily, too, right?

The original discussion was based on the "dusting"-problematic that all coins with public addresses can suffer from and how to possibly prevent it from happening.

Load + sell a bunch of coins, keep the addresses private...   steal funds.. no one can verify...  great idea.
Imho the pub keys must be available to the buyer. This should be enough to verify, no?
1904  Economy / Collectibles / [POLL] Pros and Cons of open publickey lists of collectibles on: May 05, 2019, 09:28:33 PM
I had some discussions with Krogoth and a few other collectors about this topic.

There is only one benefit I see an open list has: It will be easily verifiable whether a whole batch of keys got compromised.
Is this worth exposing the public keys to everyone?

Let us know your opinion regarding publicly available (public)-key lists.

I own all of the decks and confirm they are amazing. The green deck is especially beautiful imho. It's also much rarer than the black one. Go get it!

Nice coins. Why MEC though? Was there a specific reason for choosing that alt and are there future plans to bring any other alts to MoonBits?

1 vote for Monero MoonBits
Some Monero goodness coming soon. Not chips for now, though. Tba in a few days.  Smiley

Good question. MEC is a project also associated with the devs of Bitcore and Bitsend. Megacoin has been around since 2014, so this is a little side project to celebrate this crypto and its supporters.
Some of the more famous and older cryptocurrencies from the top10/20 range are definitly coming soon and currently in preperation. Stay tuned!

If you have personal requests for your own favourite niche crypto, please contact me. It's not official now, but MoonBits aims to provide a custom service in the future.

@Kryptowerk

Approximately how much would you charge for lots of specifically designed chips sans loaded with any crypto? What I have in mind are tokens depicting caricatures of select YouTubers embracing our platform (see my sig).

Thanks in advance, bud.

Bruno

I'll send you a pm.
Depends on total mintage and some other factors.
Will talk to the manufacturer first. Thank you for your interest.

The final R-Series 0.005 BTC box left available!
Some BTX titan chips still in stock.  Smiley

50% of this BTC 0.001 T-Series already sold. Currently out of boxes - but taking pre-reservations.

Info/update from the manufacturer: Total brass finish MoonBits in future series will likely be significantly lower compared to silver and titan finish.

Today was the day I was supposed to receive them, time to track the package down as the good ol' post office decided to deliver it somewhere else. Will update with the pics once I locate it.

Edit*
Talked to the post man, it got stuck in the shoot of the mailbox.

Thank you for the update and photo. Happy delivery went well in the end!

I feel that you are worried about something that just is not the case!

People love your releases. You'd be made aware of it from multiple members if it was the contrary.

There will always be people with a critical view point, it's just how it is.
+1

I said it before and I will say it again: I am impressed by the silver coin quality AND I really enjoy the BYOB theme you build around them. Already looking forward to add a 4th one to my current collection.
Also, regarding the plagiarism concerns: Artists copy and re-build and restructure old ideas all the time. I actually believe without it, there wouldn't be any progress at all - even the greatest artists "stole" and re-processed "old" ideas constantly (somtimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously). It's a totally natural part of any creative process and anyone stating otherwise just does not know much about them - but of course that's just my personal opinion. Cheesy

That being said, don't waste too much energy on negative input - it will always be a part of life, but not worth paying too much attention to it.
