I would argue that decision is very dependent on the usage profile. I have no idea about percentage of people that access sinbad trough TOR, if it is small and I expect it is, I would argue that it shouldn't even be in the sig or that it should have been clearly marked as TOR link.
Just be hovering your mouse over the skull containing the TOR link, you will se the onion domain at the bottom left of your browser. Those who know what it is will understand how to open it.

My logic is that those that want to use TOR are usually expert users and will find their way to needed links while there is certainly some amount of newbies that could simply go to competition since they would think the page is not working after clicking on TOR link.
More emphasize should be put in mixing through TOR as it's a privacy boost compared to mixing via the clearnet. Ultimately, it's Sinbad's decision to decide what they feel is the best for their business model.
1922  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: August 07, 2023, 01:16:29 PM
If your wallet is empty, with zero balance  , there is no risk of using old utxo, if you don't reuse any address.

If you know how to work with your utxo , you don't even need to create a new wallet.
Mistakes can happen, and since it doesn't cost anything to create a brand-new wallet only for mixed coins to separate it from the unmixed ones, I think it's better to do that.

I am looking at the new signatures and can't help to feel that more emphasize could be given to the onion link instead of the clearnet version of Sinbad. Only the part on the far left with the skull contains the TOR link, while everything else has the clearnet link. As a compromise, perhaps the far right box (MIX NOW) could also point to the onion link. That way we would have the ends of the sig pointing to the onion link, while the center of the sig contains the clearnet link.
1923  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of Cryptoshuffler on: August 07, 2023, 01:05:39 PM
This is a different type of clipboard malware that essentially works like any other versions. You copy an address and when you paste it, it gets replaced with one that belongs to the scammers. This should be easy to spot if you are careful and pay attention to where you send your coins.

There is always a source where you copied the address from.
If someone send you the address, compare the one you have pasted into your wallet to the one in the source.
If you are sending to yourself, check and compare with your own wallet.
If you are using a hardware wallet, the address will be displayed on the hardware wallet screen.

Careful individuals shouldn't become victims of clipboard malware. The virus can't replace the address in the source, so always compare to that and stay vigilant.
1924  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [don't have such a mindset] Bitcoin accumulation/investment not a competition. on: August 07, 2023, 07:26:05 AM
Such a competition among friends isn't necessarily a bad thing if it eventually leads to more people adopting bitcoin and understanding the benefits it gives them. If can become unhealthy if you make dangerous financial decisions just to win and do better than your friends. Challenging your peers is completely fine. If you grew up with a brother or sister, you will remember that you always competed against each other, regardless if it was attention, who was faster, who was stronger, who did better in school, etc. etc.
1925  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers are getting innovative. on: August 07, 2023, 06:42:20 AM
I also saw earlier that a scammer sent me a message on Telegram asking me to create an account on a website. Then I created an account there on his request and next time he told me to deposit money there but I was not in a position to deposit at all on his words.
You should have deleted the PM your received as soon as you read it without clicking on any links to check what it's about. That alone can be dangerous and result in downloading something to your device. People need to change their mindset where they believe someone contacted them to help them with something and make their lives better. That's not going to happen. They are looking for easy victims in one way or the other. As soon as you get a DM with an unknown person saying 'Hi', delete it.

<Snip>
I agree with JeromeTash here. To avoid possible connections between mixed and unmixed coins in the future, it's better to separate them altogether by having two different wallets (not two addresses as part of the same wallet). But let me ask you this: after you have mixed your coins and decoupled their history, do you have plans to send these coins back to Coinbase in the future? Because if you do, we might be going back to the question will Coinbase ask questions why your coins are connected with mixing services, where they come from, etc.
1927  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Happy to reach 50 merit on: August 06, 2023, 06:19:01 PM
To be honest OP, this is a very confusing thread you have started.

Looking at the subject and before opening the topic, I thought it would be about you being happy for receiving 50 merits and expressing your joy. Turns out it's about you offering to review other user's posts who need merits to rank up and giving it to them if you like what was written.
1928  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Empowering youths can be the quickest route to crypto adoption on: August 06, 2023, 06:02:09 PM
This program isn't about empowering youths or making them knowledgeable, strong, independent, or anything similar. It's a marketing plot to advertise Bitget and it's services. And I dare to say, a cheap one. They are looking for people from specific countries, mostly poor countries.

1929  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: its a rumors but... on: August 06, 2023, 07:27:39 AM
It's not like bitcoin launched a never before seen crimewave once it was introduced more than a decade ago. Criminals and fraudsters always had ways to make money, bitcoin offers a new and perhaps easier way to do that. Semi-anonymity that could even be complete anonymity if used with the right tools or in connection with privacy coins. Of course it's going to be appealing for criminals and hackers to use something like that. But every nasty thing bitcoin is used for today, cash, gold, precious stones, etc. were used for in the past.
1930  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hhampuz using his position on forum to vindicate scams on: August 06, 2023, 06:31:36 AM
It's only a question of time until we see an exit scam again or fraud operator like ChipMixer.
ChipMixer didn't commit fraud nor did they cheat their customers. It was a mixing service that got shutdown and taken offline by the FBI and Interpol. Their service worked exactly as advertised. It allowed anyone to mix their coins: you, me, or hardcore fraudsters. It's partially because it was used to wipe the history from the coins that came from malicious activities that it was taken down. The bigger reason is that no government in the world want you to be private or free.
1931  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: August 06, 2023, 06:23:13 AM
Anyways, your FAQ said to NEVER send coins from a market wallet (like Coinbase) to the mixer address. I actually ended up doing that. Is this going to turn into a big deal? Will Coinbase close out my account? Or will even worse stuff happen, it's my own fault but because I'm unsure of the consequences I'd like to know if anybody else has made this mistake before.
Did Coinbase send the withdrawal to Sinbad's address? If the transaction went through, you should be OK. But for your own safety, don't do this in the future. Some centralized exchanges don't like funds being connected to services like mixers, coinjoins, or online casinos. They can freeze funds, ask for reasons you are using such services, source of your funds, etc. That's why it's recommended to use your own private and non-custodial wallet where you aren't being restricted or monitored. Better yet, don't use services that limit the ways you want to use bitcoin.
1932  Economy / Reputation / Re: Banned Accounts and their Merit Status. on: August 05, 2023, 12:35:07 PM
Frankly, I do not know during the ban period, can you send merits or not? Can anyone confirm this? Can Merits be sent during the temporary ban?
This is my personal opinion on these cases. A temporarily banned account should have the same restrictions as a permanently banned account with the only difference being that the temporarily banned person will one day return to the forum. Like you said, be it in one day or a few months. But during the temp ban, the user shouldn't have the possibility to post, send PMs, or distribute merits. All restrictions are removed once the account is fully reinstated.

Is it possible to send merits from an account whose signature has been banned?
My personal opinion again. I think it should be possible. The punishment of that person is not being able to earn money from their signature space. Everything else should work the same as with other regular members.
1933  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hhampuz using his position on forum to vindicate scams on: August 05, 2023, 12:26:30 PM
I disagree on this. Feedbacks and reputation are not things that work out in isolation. Many users give negative feedback or positive (but mostly negative) based on the proof presented by others and that's how it should work.
I agree with this, but this is different from what I was talking about. It's ok to rightly tag someone with red paint if that someone is a proven scammer as a warning to other members.

I was talking about actual cases where two users traded physical/digital goods. If I was part of such a trade with you, and I was satisfied, I would let those feelings be known using the feedback system, regardless what your other ratings say. It works the other way as well. You could have 50 positive trades, I am still going to leave you a negative if you scam me and don't fulfill your part of our agreement without thinking what the community will think of me.
Grin

1935  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammers using Exodus wallet fake email on: August 05, 2023, 07:48:44 AM
I don't know how it is now, especially when they offer a third-party built-in exchange on the wallet. I dont if its still there.
I am guessing they offer some sort of instant swaps like many other wallets that have built-in exchanges. Instant exchanges are custodial. Some services like ChangeNOW like to falsely claim they are non-custodial or "free of custody" as they say. They are not. You need to deposit your coins into their addresses, and they hold the keys. Not only that, but your crypto could get frozen, and you could be asked to undergo KYC, explain the source of funds, explain how you got them, etc., etc. If we were talking about non-custodial services, you could then recover your coins, show them the middle-finger, and go elsewhere. But you can't.

1937  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hhampuz using his position on forum to vindicate scams on: August 05, 2023, 07:27:45 AM
Following Bitcoingirl.club's feedback, 17 days later, on 18th June,  Hhampuz counters the feedback by stating "I have worked with Rollbit for well over 2 years now and have never had any issues. Great people behind the scenes and an innovative casino where I've played lots without problems."

Date of (+ve) feedback: 18th June, 2023

I think this is a clear case of Hhampuz misusing his position to counter a valid feedback. Neither he provides any reason or insight as to why the funds were seized although he claims to know the great people behind the scenes at Rollbit.
Trust feedback is supposed to show your experience dealing with a person. It shouldn't match what others say and feel about that person. So, if you had a good trade with someone or did some business with them that you feel like sharing, the feedback system is the place to do that. The same is true if your experience was negative. Hhampuz has every right to post a about his positive experience the same way those who believe they were harmed can post about their negative experience. A big mistake people do before leaving feedback is checking who else has posted and what. If it's mostly negative, I am not going to say anything positive and vice versa. That's wrong. It's your experience that matters, regardless what the community thinks of it.

2 flags were created against Rollbit and everyone supported the flag and provided reasons while Hhmpuz opposed the flag and didn't care to reason it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3178

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3194
I don't know how the support looked like the day you created this thread, but "everyone" supporting the flags is simply wrong. They currently have only BitcoinGirl.Club from the DT club that supports them together with a few non-DT members. Regarding Hhampuz's opposition of the flag. If he read and looked at the evidence and didn't agree Rollbit did anything wrong, he is correct by opposing the flag. If he opposed it just based on his previous positive encounters with the casino and its personnel without even looking at the evidence presented, I think he is in the wrong.
1938  Economy / Reputation / Re: Banned Accounts and their Merit Status. on: August 05, 2023, 06:32:32 AM
Historically merits (earned ones) can be reverted by theymos.
I know, and I remember that case. If you look back at my earlier post, I didn't say that it can't be done. I said that the earned merits shouldn't be reverted back to the senders or taken away completely. Obviously, cases of abuse are something entirely different, like the situation with the merit source who was abusing the system. In all other cases where a person gets banned or disappears of the forum, no one should be touching their merits.
1940  Economy / Reputation / Re: Banned Accounts and their Merit Status. on: August 04, 2023, 04:47:27 PM
We need to distinguish Merits and sMerits. The merits you earned should never be taken away from you, regardless of your account status (banned/not banned). Your question is about the sendable merits. Could they be extracted? Yes, but there is no point in doing it.

Quality posters with plenty of merits to give or merit sources usually know the rules and don't get banned. But even if they did and they had thousands of sMerits left, theymos can just pick other people to become merit sources. Or he could increase the supply to make up for those lost 5k of sMerits. You will rarely see a highly valuable member get banned here, whose lost sMerits are felt by the forum as a whole.
