1921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A friendly reminder on: December 12, 2020, 10:28:12 PM
I guess the best advice is to always save your bitcoin, since thinking about it there was really no reason for the bitcoin value to not increase in the future.

Personally, I have an Electrum wallet where I save my bitcoin for a long term and then still have bitcoin in Binance for trading purposes, supply and demand wise you could already assume that in the future market price of bitcoin will increase but still risky because something could always happen and maybe new technology could be created that is more superior than cryptocurrency.

But still, it is more like a high risk and high reward thing so always save your bitcoin for long-term investment.

What a sad news coming from coins.ph, but still pwede parin tayo mag hodl sa ibang mga multiwallet companies like binance na supported ang mga smart contract addresses. And sana magkaroon na rin sila ng support in the future.

1925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin FAILED? on: December 11, 2020, 05:26:47 PM
We have all heard the story of the pizza guy getting paid in BTC, yet some 10 years after Bitcoin was made, hardly any shops accept BTC in the great scheme of things.

It started off as a project that would enable the regular guy with a modest pc to mine BTC, now you need a huge farm to be able to mine effectively.

Bitcoin is getting further and further away from the guy in the street, and is now some rich hedgefunds 1% elite plaything.

What is the future of Bitcoin in your view, will it render itself useless and be taken over/killed by a better suited cryptoproject, or are we stuck with it??

Totally bitcoin has not failed to its purpose because bitcoin is still under a process of adaption and it is still growing in the past and coming years.

Maybe bitcoin is not really great when it comes to spending at this point since the market price is so volatile so it would really make sense just investing bitcoin instead of using it in buying things in a store.

But still, I wouldn't say it's a failure since the process is not yet over and in the coming years, it might succeed as a digital currency that you could spend.

1927  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Scammers BTC addresses at iba pa on: December 10, 2020, 05:00:27 PM

1928  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can 2FA be Hacked? on: December 09, 2020, 12:23:44 PM
Recently my Facebook Account was Hacked which was protected by 2FA. I was thinking that 2FA was very advance security. But I was Wrong. My Account was hacked and hacker change all my email and Phone Number. Has anyone faced same problem please reply in post. If someone has recovered hacked account please reply with information.

Hacker could pretty much hack or bypass 2FA authenticator.

The hacker could use emails in order to get in on your computer and then make it look like a deal or beta testing of any application which is a pretty common way for a hacker to get into a computer.

If the hacker is already inside your computer, they could perform a spoof attack where the hacker is going to clone your browser or your IP address so that when you need to open a 2FA authentication it will be bypass thinking that the one who log-in is still you since it is using your IP address.

Hackers could easily target your emailsince everything is connected in your email address and they could change your password in almost every website just using your email.

1930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A free land for bitcoin on: December 08, 2020, 01:15:34 PM
Is there any chance that we can find a place like Africa or island in pacific ocean to make bitcoin a totally legal currency?no shit from government.

Bitcoin is already free and you could totally use it or buy bitcoin and in most of the countries around the world except for those of the countries where bitcoin is banned.

There are so many countries where bitcoin is totally legal but the government is always there to watch how the bitcoin could perform, If we could make our own country that would operate with bitcoin, it only need to have the bitcoin as its own currency without having fiat money in its country.

If the people in that country only used that currency it would totally work without any problem since anyone could just spend their bitcoin at any physical store without any other fiat options.
1931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World Map of Bitcoin Legality on: December 07, 2020, 05:24:50 PM
I mean the majority of the country is legal so most of the country is probably not against bitcoin technology which is a good thing since they are not banning it.

Also, they could still access bitcoin if they want to since it was just the internet, if you have the resources countries cant really banned it from you. 129 Countries is already a good number and surely gonna increase in the coming years.

Most of the countries would not agree with bitcoin technology because it's a decentralized system so we could expect some countries to ban it and there nothing really we could do about it.
1932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government don't accept Bitcoin. on: December 06, 2020, 10:35:08 PM
Our country government don't accept bitcoin. If anyone use bitcoin and know it state police Caught him and give punishment. But i like bitcoin. How can i use it? And I want to explain that bitcoin is not bad for me. How can i successfully explain?

I think you could still buy bitcoin even though your country does not support or accept bitcoin, if the government would punish you for using bitcoin or buying bitcoin it might be banned or illegal in your country.

But I think even though in some countries where bitcoin is banned you could still used bitcoin, what I mean is they cannot really fully banned bitcoin because it is just in the Internet thing.

They cannot really block everything that is related to this bitcoin or cryptocurrency and at the end of the day you could always used a VPN to access it from other countries.
1933  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Crypto Valley of Asia Itinatayo sa Pilipinas on: December 06, 2020, 10:14:20 PM

Fast forward to 3 years, nakipag-partner ang CEZA sa Northern Star Gaming & Resorts Inc. upang magtayo ng isang crypto at fintech hub--Crypto Valley of Asia--sa Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport. This is “part of the government’s bid to foster a fintech ecosystem [to] attract international blockchain companies to set up shop in the country.”

The government's support for crypto is becoming increasingly obvious. I think crypto is past the point of no return at least in our country at this stage.

1934  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake electrum on: December 06, 2020, 07:48:13 PM

~

I guess this is already the job of a lot of scammers online making a scam Android application that they can publish in the google play store.

Since it's easy to upload your application in the Google Play store I think scammer is taking advantage of that creating of scam Application that is a mobile copy of a legitimate bitcoin or cryptocurrency wallet.

Even though some of the wallets do not have its mobile version they develop a sloppy one to fool people in order to scam people's Electrum wallet putting their private key and password in the App.
1935  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Misleading headline ng mga media on: December 06, 2020, 04:57:06 PM
Yes, medyo masakit isipin na puro halos news about crypto currency is bad news. But most of the time puro negative news lang ang lagi nilang binabalita, And because of that more people will definitely not engage na pumasok sa crypto.

1936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: 2 new Metamask phishing site thru Google Ads on: December 05, 2020, 08:29:58 PM

And then if you either create a new wallet or import seed, you fall for the trick.

I'm familiar with this one and I'm sure its use in a lot of platforms where metamask is used, I fall into this phishing scam by putting my private key in the textbox without even thinking.

But the wallet doesn't have any amount so I don't really care, A lot of people in telegram and discord will pm you that has this interface, thinking that it might be a free giveaway or something.

It's pretty convincing since they are trying to copy 1 layer of UI of a website trying to make it look like a legitimate website and then when you enter this screen will appear.
1937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chances of BTC surpassing the value of Fiat Money on: December 05, 2020, 04:08:24 PM
Sorry if the topic sounds logically flawed I didn't dig much deeper into the financial fantasies of such.

I'm wondering what if one day Bitcoin goes so high up in value that it causes somewhat a fiat crisis? I mean imagine, you've Bitcoins but there isn't much cash available in the market to buy your BTC, or simply put people can't afford it? Will bitcoin be of any value then?

Bitcoin undoubtedly has a very high market price in the market and high value than fiat money. But fiat money is just the main currency that can be used in a country.

It might not cause any impact since the market price could always continue to increase, and if you want to spend it the best thing to do is convert it first to a fiat since bitcoin was not yet accepted in some countries or stores. So the value of the fiat would just depend on the country that is why different fiat currency has a different value.

In the future, it might be a digital transaction that could be our future or could even be crypto but I guess it was just an improved version of fiat money.
1938  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Philippine central bank embraces digital tokens on: December 05, 2020, 03:11:56 PM

1939  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is best wallet for using and store the bitcoin? on: December 04, 2020, 05:28:31 PM
Mate, you've been here since 2019 and you're asking this just now?

But anyway. In my opinion:

BlueWallet[1] for bitcoin that currently doesn't amount to more than $500; or Electrum[2] if you prefer a desktop wallet(though I'd mostly suggest using a mobile wallet instead).

If were talking about upwards of $500, then either a Ledger[3], Trezor[4], or a Coldcard[5] hardware wallet.

[1] https://bluewallet.io/
[2] https://electrum.org/
[3] https://ledger.com/
[4] https://trezor.io/
[5] https://coldcardwallet.com/

Try any of this wallet especially for investing in bitcoin, but if your planning to trade I guess it more convenient to use exchanges wallet like Binance.

Since you could easily buy and sell altcoins in the exchanger, meaning you could easily earn profit and at the same time you could easily manage them.

I personally use Electrum as a bitcoin wallet and never encounter and issue using it, but I there is some wallet that could be more convenient depending on your country especially in cashing in and cashing out your funds.
1940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will all countries accept crypto as currency? on: December 04, 2020, 05:05:17 PM
there are still many countries that cannot accept crypto in their country, why?  do you know  for example in the country of Indonesia crypto has not been legalized because it is considered gambling and money laundering, what about your countries?

Different countries also have different views on cryptocurrency or bitcoin so some countries would not allow cryptocurrency and banned it in their country because they don't trust it.

Cryptocurrency is not something that my country or the government here supports but it's not banned here in the country, and the government also giving warning to the people of what is the risk of cryptocurrency.

So it's still legal here, but a lot of people use cryptocurrency or bitcoin in a lot of scams so I guess people just don't have the trust in it here because of this scams in the news.
