Poi ci è piaciuta la notizia di una MicroStrategy che continua con il suo prezioso accumulo di btc. Personalmente però questa storia inizia a preoccuparmi un po', se non vado errato ora hanno quasi 150.000 bitcoin, sono una quantità veramente importante per essere in mano ad una sola persona/società, non mi piace troppo questa cosa, si rischia davvero una pesante manipolazione del mercato in futuro se andrà avanti così. Il problema semmai è reale. Molta gente ha comprato Microstrategy perché è considerata un proxy di Bitcoin. Ma se venisse approvato un ETF, allora questa funzione verrebbe meno. Questo significherebbe una forte pressione in vendita, con conseguente calo di prezzo dell’azione. Ora, data la struttura societaria di MSTR, questo non dovrebbe essere un problema troppo serio, dato che Micheal Saylor ha il 70% dei diritti di voto, ma comunque non sarebbe trascurabile in certo “incentivo” alla vendita. |

I thought DdmrDdmr repeated the same action again. Approx three hours ago, I got a notification from my telegram bot, and it seems I got another four more merits. I just logged in and figured out that no merits were credited. Now I am curious if it was a glitch from TryNinja's telegram bot. Is this happened only to me, or has someone else noticed the same thing? I thought it was another real spree, as he has done something similar. I am kinda upset now  I was really scared when this morning I got a bunch of notifications from @tryninja bot about other merits from @ddmrddmr. Luckily, it was sone kind of delay in the bot and not another spree! |

My review: A very small and fast one. It was by far the smallest on record but also the quickest. A ninja-style work is crushing the tx/second record. Probably he's testing how long he can break the one tx/second barrier on the forum without angering @theymos. As a consequence of bein a 3x merit spree, it also broke the record for metis/second. It is clear from their form-8k: On June 28, 2023, MicroStrategy announced that, as of June 27, 2023, MicroStrategy had issued and sold an aggregate of 1,079,170 Shares under the Sales Agreement for aggregate net proceeds to MicroStrategy (less sales commissions and expenses) of approximately $333.7 million. The holding forever intend my be genuine. MicroStrategy does however sell underlying stock to investors. (even attempting to time the market? as they did in the previous bull market when MSTR > $1k per share)Good spot. They also have roughly 95 million in cash equivalent. I suspect they will use those funds as well. |

In effetti se aumenta hashrate e dopo una settimana si aggiusta la difficolta allora ovviamente non serve molto, serve al massimo per una settimana.

Beh, comunque l'hashrate ha una funzione: rendere più sicura la rete bitcoin. So che il "security budget" è un argomento controverso, ma anche se escono blocchi ogni 10 minuti, se per farlo si deve usare 100 volte l'hardware, vuol dire che la rete sarà, grossomodo, 100 volte più sicura. |

Be warned about the risky situation of Microstrategy.
Everyone is looking at Microstrategy as an "ETF proxy".
They are buying a lot of BTC, and investors have flocked to MSTR because of that.
In case of an ETF approval, Microstrategy would lose all those investors, as the ETF is such a more efficient way of holding BTC.
In case you want to bet on ETF approval: Long GBTC, short MSTR!

There is no way for anyone to prove pizza was made by myself...
It can be made by my aunt, next door guy or custom made in pizzeria by proffesionals.
There is no way of proving it, of course, but I am sure I spotted a few professionally made pizzas in the contest. Having your auntie helping you bake a pizza is a thing, buying that and taking a picture is a different thing. Of course the pic in process help sort this kind of things, as for example professional oven should help clarify a pizza was not home baked… Wait...so that means no more lemon and potato ''pizza'' experiments?  NO Brand new, newbies and Junior members should not be allowed, but everyone else should.
You are proposing also members can vote? Well, I was trying to prevent farming accounts, but I guess farming a few Members account can be difficult as well, up to contest organisers. Of course higher ranks were always meant to vote… It's Italian thing... good thing if this year winner don't wake up one day with horse head in his bed   Who told you didn’t happen? By promotion, I mean not spamming the board but engaging the respective members of the local board to the participant's thread on the local board.
I don’t understand why you want promotion. You want an anonymous contest to avoid the pizza contest becoming a “popularity contest” or you want to put rules in the promotion because you want it to be a popularity contest? Also, I was thinking about the anonymous submissions: I have only one kitchen table, and I guess next year (unless very unrealistic price trajectory) I will be baking on the same table. This mean an astute eye will still be able to spot my pizza. Is it going to be my fault? |

Besides all above suggestions @fillippone just came up with another very interesting idea in the Italian section, which would be the anonymous submission in order to avoid people voting a certain pizza just because the user who made is "popular". I second that and I was also suggesting that the participants should take one picture with their username and one without so the winner(s) can later submit the same picture but this time with their username tag to confirm they actually made that pizza.
For the sake of clarity, when proposing that idea I also told that it could be easily gamed still, yet posing a significant burden on the contest organiser. Each choice has a trade-off. |

...ok può salire di valore, ma è sempre misurato in "coriandoli". non fornisce una serie di strumenti / vantaggi che btc può fornire e che "non hanno prezzo".
E pure quello pare difficile. Se guardi il rapporto BTC/ETH non mi pare proprio qualcosa che ha la voglia di salire. Poi certo, se lo guardi in euro, allora vale il principio: “hight tide raises all boats”, quindi quando il Bitcoin sale, allora anche ETH ne beneficia. |

Following this year's contest, which was extremely successful, with a record number of submissions, a record number of votes, probably a record number of voters, and a subsequent record level of drama, I hope next year's contest will be even more successful. As the contest hit some hard limits on the discord platform (Cyrus had to open three different voting channels) and soft limits (a Bitcointalk contest where users outside the forum are allowed to vote without even ever landing on the forum itself is a weird way to promote the forum), I think it’s time to take this contest fully back into the forum. Promoting a discord server is a very smart idea (on the Italian board, we did something similar with the Telegram Forum as well), but I think this should be done differently. Regarding the Pizza contest, I think we haven’t reinvented the wheel, as we only need to take an example from the successful contests held on the forum, namely the pie baking contest. In the Italian board, we tried to discuss a possible set of rules for the next contest. I am going to post it here as a contribution to future discussions, hoping that you might find it interesting. - Pizza must be made by yourself
- Pizza should be Bitcoin-related (you could even include a homage to bitcointalk
 ). - The definition of a pizza, per Merriam-Webster, states:
A dish made typically of flattened bread dough spread with a savoury mixture, usually including tomatoes and cheese and often other toppings and baked
- In order to be qualified, you should post
- a picture containing your homemade pie+ a piece of paper with your username and date;
- a picture of the pizza in the making
- Only one pizza per user
- Competition will be held in two phases:
- 1st Phase - From 12th May 2024 (00:00 GMT) to Bitcoin Pizza Day, 22nd of May 2024 (23:59:59 GMT): This is where all the users are free to submit their entries
- 2nd Phase - Voting process from 23rdth of May 20924 to 3rd of June 2024 (23:59:59 GMT).
- Winners shall be announced on the 5th of June 2024.
- During this phase, users are only able to vote in 1 entry from the 1st Phase but are free to edit their vote until the 2nd phase ends.
- No merit sending is allowed from nominees to users who nominated them
- No minimum entries for the contest to run - No matter the submissions that we have, the prize pool will be distributed accordingly;
