1922  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Impact of Bitcointalk forum in our lives on: July 24, 2023, 07:46:32 AM
In my quest of learning what writing is about, I found this forum helpful. Before I found the forum, I wasn't able to construct a good content. So, I read a book that encouraged people to write short paragraphs everyday to enhance their writing skill. I spent time reading short write ups everyday in the forum and noticed how some user's English improved enormously while posting contents here. I, once, checked a user's content, whom I won't mention for some reasons, in 2020 his sentences and word syntaxes looked very poor, but today you won't believe how good a writer he has become.

Only those who understand the value of being able to construct a writeup will remain thankful to this forum, for increasing a lot of its member's writing skills. Today, I'm happy this forum helped me improve my writing, it was never like this before I joined the forum. At least people can read and understand where my points are heading to. Thank you all the members for being strong critics on poor written threads, it's the best responses that helped improve my love for writing.
1923  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think selling your property is better than taking loan? on: July 22, 2023, 07:51:29 AM
If you are in a situation that requires some funds immediately, would you go for a loan or would you sell one of your properties to solve the problem? And which of them is a better option, to sell property or to take a loan?

Lucky me I am far from being in a situation as described. When I read the story I thought that you live in a low GDP country or in a poor environment even in a rich country.

In the situation you describe, neither of these two outcomes seems ideal to me. The best thing to do would be to try to improve your situation so that this never happens again.

Anyway, trying to put myself in the example described, I think I would choose to borrow. I prefer to have more quality of life while I can, with a fridge and a washing machine at home.

Things get red, some times, in people's life out of different reasons. But, planning also helps us to outpace such a fast approaching hard experience; running out of funds. Selling items doesn't count neither does borrowing work, as it'll fade off. They're many other ways to get through tough situations. Although not everyone has the facilities or skills that can take them through hard times. Improving situation like you said can mean improving social skills, those we see everyday are our best tools in life. Calling people who are far away for help most times dont provide immediate help compared to close friends who live in the same neighborhood, and understands, first hand, our situation. I'd also add that Op didn't help his friend because he doesn't see him. Seeing can mean love, in similar format those that we see on daily basis we tend to love, naturally. Hence, OP's friend if he has the social skills he would have taken the advantage of the people around him and ask for their help instead of calling his friend in a far place.
1924  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No social media is safe on: July 20, 2023, 06:19:50 PM
It's always similar stories of fake trading site that require the victim to pay certain amount of money to be eligible to take their earning. The growth of scam in the cryptocurrency market is becoming alarming and everyone should stay careful from con artists. When chatting with a stranger it's a good technique not to stay consistent or replying their messages often. Make out two days gap before replying their DM and you'll see how fast they'll lose interest in chatting you. Op was carried away with the chats to the extent of getting persuaded, which should have been an immediate red flag, but he found out when they've already swept his money.
1925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Days you need to work your ass at minimum wage for a BTC, by country on: July 20, 2023, 11:19:03 AM

Its ironic to read some bitcoiners who from this statistics think bitcoin won't change anything.

And what do you think will change?
Do you think people will stop working on a minimum wage, that the minimum wage will earn you a good life? Do you think there will be no poverty? We had the gold standard for a millennium, did any of those disappear while it was used?
How could BTC change this for everybody in this world?

There is never a thing that will end poverty for everyone in this world. And remember the wording “Anything" was first used before you added “everybody" that's where my point was raised from. How would it be said that bitcoin cannot change anything? Does it mean the whole innovation is a wasted effort ? Multiple amount of people got lifted from poverty through the use of cryptocurrency and bitcoin. Some traded, created contents and marketed products using bitcoin. Many were able to move ahead of their minimium wage salaries and made more profits through bitcoin. Hence aside the monetary aspect, bitcoin is digital money and is not the government that makes changes for people that decides for themselves, whether to be rich or remain poor by not advancing their skills to make more streams of income. All the questions you asked is dependent on personal decision not on bitcoin. Bitcoin has no leg or neither does it speak. So, people who wish to make 30k dollars can think outside the box for themselves and earn it, not by waiting for bitcoin to help them think. Nobody is a slave today, people are free to take steps. Stop shifting the responsibilities of the government to bitcoin, what does bitcoin has to do with increasing minimum wage? Bitcoin is here to solve monetary problems such as moving from centralized ledger to decentralize ledger that works with time. He that wish to get 1btc while alive should think of another alternative other than depending on minimum wage. How many people who depend on minimum wage invest into bitcoin?
1926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Days you need to work your ass at minimum wage for a BTC, by country on: July 20, 2023, 07:39:09 AM
Its ironic to read some bitcoiners who from this statistics think bitcoin won't change anything. Everyone wants to be rich just like in case of fiat. The statistics is situated on how long it will take a person or worker in some countries to hit 30k dollars if they depend squarely on their minimum wage. Hence, if the price of bitcoin hits 20k the duration will reduce. Since the price of bitcoin is not static the notion that it won't change anything doesn't sit right with me, because bitcoin is made for transactional purposes not to save up to 1btc. There will never come a time when people will be stopped from using the blockchain if they don't own up to 1BTC. The thread is good as time is being invested, but it should have been stated to be how long it takes to make 30k dollars not 1BTC.
1927  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever been scammed ? on: July 19, 2023, 11:37:07 AM
Scam is eating deep into the internet and people fall victim including the elites. I have countless times been scammed by vendors who take funds but fail to remit what I paid for in bitcoin. This happen regularly on telegram. Happily for quite a long time I have never lost my bitcoin to such people again, although I still send money first, but good people exist who provide genuine services to buyers. The clipboard attack scam is one of the tricky scams on the internet, ever since I read and researched about it, I've never sent money without cross checking the address. And it also thought me not to download untrusted apps into devices where I transfer btc.
1928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This time for meme coin? on: July 19, 2023, 11:25:11 AM
They'll never be a good time for memecoin, it keeps failing investors and similarly investors who lost money through memecoin wouldn't dare invest into good cryptocurrency projects like bitcoin and ethereum. Some people see memecoins as an opportunity to maximize their profits or feel like early adopters, yet they get disappointed with the results that follows memecoin. They've got no use case, which is a red flag to the durability of its price. Except that Elon musk hypes dogecoins its price wouldn't have made any advancement during the 2021 bull run. They depend on hype and that's a waste of the naive investor's money.
1929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is Gamble gain more fans than Bitcoin? on: July 19, 2023, 10:50:39 AM
Well I'd say that if the topic is rephrased to why online casino is gaining more fans than bitcoin it'll be better and comparable, because gambling generally as said by previous responses has been around for centuries, which keeps it ahead of many industries including bitcoin. Humans don't like delay, everyone wants to see immediate results; win or loss. That's why a good number of people gamble over investing money into bitcoin. Additionally, Gambling happen naturally. Without the house or event gambling will occur, even in nations where gambling is illegal, peers can be gambling privately with no traces. Unlike bitcoin with lots of barriers, citizens can be traced if they use bitcoin in a country where its banned. You'll see that bitcoin doesn't compete with gambling by any means for now, as people can easily change in future coupled with rise in gambling addiction people can begin to choose bitcoin.
1930  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lender, You Must be careful about MAFIA farming account on: July 17, 2023, 08:58:04 AM
Using the acronym MAFIA doesn't align with your post and shouldn't be used since the meaning refers to some specific people and an association. Hence if a person was into bounty hunting and later decides to cheat a lender and run away with their money, it's an Ill treatment but if the person grows an account to legendary just to borrow money and escape it makes no sense and doesn't worth it. Such thread should also be accompanied with proves not only spitting out what's going through your inner mind.
1931  Other / Meta / Re: Getting comments on my new YouTube videos on: July 17, 2023, 08:19:14 AM
It's an interesting niche you want to venture into and it requires lots of work, drafting and planning of new contents. I'm sure you already have in place the topics and written scripts for the videos. Talking about vast topics, it'll be great especially when you're doing it to keep your self busy. But if you want to rank faster, focusing on bitcoin contents alone will help you achieve the goal. Can you do this for 5 years non stop? Chasing a long term goal pays off indeed. If you must add other topics always find a means to initiate bitcoin into the video, it'll help indicate to your audience that, at your old age, you're fully into bitcoin. With those hairs your videos can go viral, maybe when the audience gets bigger in size, you can shave them off to catch their attention and as well create room for further conversation in the comment section.
1932  Economy / Economics / Re: Building a prosperous business on: July 17, 2023, 06:21:11 AM
Building a business doesn't have static rules like Op listed. Celebrating failure is also a way to boost a business, but people rarely abide by it or teach about it. Business changes and we should try lots of ideas, right he stated it, but it's always difficult to multi task without having a team. Tried it and felt completely exhausted, having proficient team members is a good method to strive for success in any industry. In addition, expanding a business real fast can negatively affect the growth of the business, we should always endeavor to focus mainly on the things or tools we need to work and neglect other irrelevant things like renting a big apartment for offices, on the long run it'll cost the company or business lots of capital that could have been used to run Ads or pay workers.
1933  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Question from a newbie - raising $100 in BTC for charity on: July 16, 2023, 12:19:29 PM
If a person should come up with such a thread that means they are not well prepared to help or render free services to help the less privilege. Even at the cause of helping the poor we shouldn't neglect ourselves too. OP, if serious about the journey, would have made up some efforts he's done so far, not asking for the help of forum members just to make it known about his intention to donate his earnings to the charity homes. It is not easy to find a good paying job online, yet with dedication he'll get a job that'll offer him $20 according to his skills. So, announcing his journey here without a reasonable update of his moves doesn't show seriousness.
1934  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to the Forums, hello everyone! on: July 16, 2023, 11:14:20 AM
but it is still difficult for me to accept that this post is not an AI generated piece.
confirmed by @lovesmayfamilis via the post above you. that what the OP published was Robot writing. not just one, but there are several that have confirmed robot writing.

AI is a technological advancement to simplify one's work. but in discussion forums, this is strongly opposed. we can see the style of language and choice of words used by the OP, if you see a beginner with a similar writing character, you can check it out.
The use of AI to deceive people that he is a quality writer should be frowned at. Because he has been using the forum for a long time, so he should be aware of his offense. Quite good he made good points in his statement, which proves that he edited the AI article real good, but people here are very smart and fast at dictating AI written threads.
1935  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Signature Campaigns on: July 15, 2023, 01:11:58 AM
Mr. Right,

I am more curious if there are companies behind it that are suitable, and in need, to advertise on my very decent traditional news and opinion website.

Indeed there are companies that sponsor the campaigns and their major section for seeking for advertisers is on the service section. So, you can open a thread there and share the details of your website; monthly visitors, niche and audience. If a company finds it suitable for their products they can hit you up.
1936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is done! Now this is what we are left with! on: July 15, 2023, 12:42:26 AM
It's not bad for a father to think about the future of his children. This thread portrays multiple similar correct answers, which not only is very useful, but helps the reader to memorize the knowledge here. Read about the halving as what will come to an end not mining, and that's just right. The creation of more bitcoin stops when it hits its limit. And it'll be hard for one person to control all the mined bitcoin, that's why its been circulated amongst a huge number of people and we are encouraged to hold. If bitcoin ends up being in the hands of few rich men, the end will be sad and the whole movement won't be a success story. Although, its almost impossible for that to happen, because lost wallets still have bitcoin in them and many traders or hodlers still won't give out their bitcoin for peanuts. Nobody can predict the future of bitcoin, the world and technology, hence no need to be bothered, it's all controlled by Men and nature.
1937  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture can save your country from recession on: July 15, 2023, 12:22:37 AM
Agriculture is commended by a good number of people because of its power to feed the nation, but only a few embark on farming crops or livestock. As a,toddler we were introduced in school about Agriculture; cultivation, shifting cultivation, irrigation etc. Similar to any business, Agriculture requires experience and knowledge for a farmer to excel and yield profits or harvest good produce. I've all read people's happiness and important contribution to agriculture, but I'm not equipped enough to venture into agriculture, similar to many other people. Nobody wants to invest into agriculture and not harvest good produce, that's why it looks like a good number of people don't Farm. Government give agric loans to farmers, they are doing their best to sustain food in the country, yet they forget to fix roads that lead to farm, reduce the price of fuel, and employ labor. These will help minimize the high cost of agricultural produces, with good roads the goods will be transported easily and cheap fuel will not only be effective for the vehicle it'll also be used on the machines used in farming.
1938  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Crisis - Improved, Worsen or still the same in your country (No Change)? on: July 14, 2023, 09:58:52 AM
Two things that are the core of any nation would be energy and food. Because those are things we are going to use one way or another, I would say water too but water could be considered in the food one if you want to. If you can be self-sufficient in these two things then you are going to be a rich nation.

Any country that wants to be self sufficient must first be able to provide for the energy needs of its citizens as well as enough locally grown and produced foods in order to feed adequately its populace. I don’t think you would be necessarily considered a rich nation if you’re self sufficient in just these areas cause they’re other factors to consider as well.
A nation that is self reliant and doesn’t rely on the resources of other countries to survive is on the path to prosperity. Although we all need each other in some capacity, a country would fare much better if they could internally source and provide sufficiently, the energy and food needs of its citizens.
Those are very essential, a country that lacks food or energy consistently will suffer her citizens and lots of people will migrate to other countries. There are other things like security and infrastructures but its quite secondary compared to food, because the security men and builders also need food to execute properly their daily duties or tasks. On the other flip to fit your response, without security, for example, the food can be hijacked by bandits or other criminals, which will cause a hike in price of food supply in the country. However where food is lacking leaves room for increase in crime and so much suffering.
1939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky reportedly arrested on: July 14, 2023, 09:03:43 AM

Full doc here:
https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/2223137celsiusnetworkorder.pdf

I assume this is in order to freeze any possible assets Celsius might have? Wild guess here!

A company like Celsius with multiple assets like mining, lending, network etc is vulnerable and difficult to control, I think that's one of the reasons they had to go bankrupt. How will they control all the assets mentioned on the doc, it's numerous, if they focused on two; lending and mining it could have been better and easier for them to withstand and trace any pipelined problem. Normally a business will grow, and sooner it'll begin to drop in value, that way Celsius would have been introducing other assets gradually other than managing all of them at a go. It's wild that, while cryptocurrency based businesses are getting penalized, the market keeps going, a sign that only a few of this businesses should be in existence. Because if SEC can't harm cryptocurrency they'll focus mainly on crypto based businesses.
1940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling Bitcoin on: July 13, 2023, 12:40:45 PM
The topic of holding bitcoin is not always left to fade easily without getting addressed. OP's research should be considered a guess work, he must have read topics like this where people talk about spending their bitcoin before concluding that everyone sell their btc. If he ventured into such a research like he pointed out he would have provided some results. However, hodling is a personal decision and ranges from one's financial capacity outside bitcoin to the kind of product they purchase with their bitcoin. If I have bitcoin and what I want is sold in bitcoin why shouldn't I purchase with the bitcoin in my wallet. What matters everywhere is that we shouldn't spend recklessly or let our wallet run dry.
