1923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How IRS can seize accounts on suspicion alone! on: October 28, 2014, 05:59:38 AM
It is pretty scary that the government can just seize your money like this which could cause a world of issues for the owners.
1924  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Vs. Paypal on: October 28, 2014, 05:54:15 AM
Paypal is easier to scam than btc.

Paypal<btc

You can trace paypal if youre scammed, you cannot trace btc.

Well, actually anyone can trace btc as the ledger is public. But it is harder to tie an address with an identity especially if using mixing.
1925  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it the right time to invest on BTC on: October 28, 2014, 05:52:04 AM
The price seems to be holding fairly steady for now but hopefully we will see a rise soon. Anything could happen but I expect the value to rise over the next year.
1926  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Private Key on: October 28, 2014, 05:48:17 AM
According to BlockChain:
Quote
Is it secure? Will another mybitcoin.com situation occur again?

Yes, it is, and no, we are protected from such situations as all of your private keys are encrypted with your password before leaving your computer. We do not hold a copy of your password, and thus are unable to view or spend your Bitcoins. You retain full control of your private keys, so your wallets can never be seized or blocked and can be imported into any desktop Bitcoin client.

Of course, be sure to use a strong password and use 2-factor authentication.

Additionally, you can download your wallet data so that it can be imported should they ever go down or anything.
1927  Economy / Speculation / Re: Noticed something with charts on: October 28, 2014, 05:44:39 AM
We can only hope that the past will repeat itself and another rally will come up soon.
1928  Economy / Speculation / Re: No One Knows on: October 28, 2014, 05:41:42 AM
We speculate because people are curious and they want to guess what will happen.
1929  Economy / Economics / Re: "Apple Pay" on: October 28, 2014, 05:40:27 AM
The technology has been there for a while. I've been using it with my Mastercard for years. Most of the stores supported at launch have even had it for years. Sure, apple adopting NFC payments will help the tech, but it's success isn't their victory alone. If anything they are somewhat late to the mobile payments party.
NFC has been around for years and failed, i doubt AP is going to change anything.

They probably have more of a push to get merchant adoption up. We will have to see how it plays out in long run though.
1930  Economy / Economics / Re: What is causin Bitcoin loosing value this time? on: October 28, 2014, 05:39:09 AM
Merchants, they are selling bitcoin immediately.

Yeah many merchants are selling immediately for fiat which is bad Sad

Good choice on no obfuscation Cheesy

So I read through the last few pages to see if there was any useful updates in this thread. The answer is no. Way too many crap posts to sort through.
1934  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: who own btc address (17gH1u6VJwhVD9cWR59jfeinLMzag2GZ430) on: October 25, 2014, 07:03:27 PM
It is unlikely that anyone will be able to answer this question. If it is part of a mixing service, it is likely intended to be anonymous.
1935  Economy / Economics / Re: Buy and Hold Bitcoin untill next halving time on: October 24, 2014, 01:39:18 AM
Yeah I am curious to see how the halving will affect the price and the supply/demand for bitcoins. It will definitely have an impact on the miners so we will see some changes for sure.
1936  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will you do when BTC is 1M each on: October 24, 2014, 01:34:17 AM
Yeah this would have to be a dream. But I would quit working and have a great life!
