19201  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you in favor of same sex marriage? on: July 13, 2017, 01:48:42 AM
Same sex marriage is an effective way to control the breeding. This will certainly decrease the number of homosexual kids.
But such couples should not be allowed to turn an adopted straight child to homosexual.

Dude, we are living in the 21st century. There are a million different methods available for controlling the population growth. We are no longer living in the 15th century, when the only available option was infanticide.
19202  Other / Off-topic / Re: punishment for rapists on: July 13, 2017, 01:46:45 AM
^^^^ Legal loopholes will always be there, but how can they pass something like this? This is not only draconian, but also barbaric and retrograde. I wonder who were the legislators who came up with this measure.
19203  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Religion is like a Penis on: July 13, 2017, 01:36:38 AM
Without religion, people might be working together to build houses and farms instead of building weapons to kill each other...

Have to agree with you there. Most of the conflicts around the world right now are being fueled by religion. Even look at the past conflicts like the one in the former Yugoslavia. People belonging to the same ethnic and racial group were killing each other on the basis of religion.
19204  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2017, Ukraine, do not miss the chance! on: July 13, 2017, 01:33:06 AM
Try it and Kiev is Russian in 2 months.

Do you think that they will be able to defend against the regular Russian army for 2 months? They were defeated by a bunch of coal  miners and farmers in Donbass. IMO, everything will be over in a day. There will be only two major battles. The battle of Kiev will be fought in the morning and the battle of Lvov will be in the evening. Ukraine will be a part of Russia within 12 to 24 hours.
19205  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: July 13, 2017, 01:29:55 AM
Taxation is not theft, because citizens have agreed to pay taxes. This is part of the “social contract,” which is a kind of agreement between citizens and the government, whereby the citizens agree to pay taxes and obey the laws, in return for the government’s protection. By using government services (such as roads, schools, and police), and remaining present in the government’s territory, you indicate that you accept the social contract.

I do not consent.

It doesn't matter whether you are consenting or not, because you are not being given a choice. That is why I argue that the taxation should be at the lowest level. It should be the villages and municipalities which collect the taxes. If someone don't want to pay taxes, then he can move to a village, where there are no taxes.
19206  Other / Politics & Society / Re: When will Religions die? on: July 13, 2017, 01:26:51 AM
The religions are already dying a natural death. Look at the western nations. A majority of the population is either atheist, agnostic or non-religious. Even in the oriental nations such as China and Japan, the situation is the same.
maybe its safe to say these are the end of days, something extra ordinary needs to happen to restore peoples faith

No. Nothing is going to happen. As the education level increases, more and more people are going to dump religion. Look at the most educated nations on the earth. They are all either atheist or secular.
19207  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who will win WW3? on: July 13, 2017, 01:25:02 AM
Russia is modernising it's equipment, and by 2020 they will have 99% of modern weapons. And if the war start, there won't be winner. You can't destroy such big countries. Russia have good rockets, USA have good rockets, planes and so on.. So it will just be stupid war.  If they use nuclear weapons, than, I think we won't find out who is winner because we can't survive that.

Fair enough. It will be next to impossible for the Americans to invade all of Russia. This is something which even Napoleon and Hitler couldn't achieve. If the Americans attempt this, then there will be tens of millions of American casualties, without any good results to speak of.
19208  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate muslems? on: July 13, 2017, 01:22:48 AM
Not EVERY man. And not EVERY religion. Check out this Fatwa -

A new fatwa from Saudi grand mufti: Men are allowed to eat their wives.

Saudi Arabia’s highest religious authority has issued a fatwa allowing a starving man to eat his wife in order to save himself. Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh, according to the report, said that the act would display the wife’s obedience to her husband ....

Recently, there have been a lot of ridiculous fatwas floating around. Actually, the various Islamic bodies seems to be engaged in a competition to see who can dish out the maximum number of fatwas. Check this one:

19209  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS Leader is dead on: July 13, 2017, 01:19:42 AM
The war over isis is not yet over even though the leader is dead we can't assured that once the leader is dead war is over againts them to be honest if US will stop supplying them high powered gun and money maybe the war will be over.

They have lost ground everywhere. The ISIS controlled territory has shrunken in size in Syria, Iraq, Libya, and Yemen. But at the same time, they are expanding in Afghanistan, and in some other countries such as the Philippines, Somalia, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
19210  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The UN voted 122-1 to ban nuclear weapons under international law on: July 13, 2017, 01:18:19 AM
Guess which country voted against banning nuclear weapons...

Take a guess... I bet you'll never guess which country wants to nuke the planet

It was the Netherlands. I would have never guessed in a million years.

Also this.

"The participants did not include any of the world’s nine nuclear-armed countries, which conspicuously boycotted the negotiations."

So this treaty has no teeth since the countries with nukes will just say make us.

What is the point in passing these resolutions, when it is clear that they will never be implemented? All of us want a nuclear free world. There is no excuse for possessing thousands of nuclear weapons, when 100 or 200 of them is more than enough to destroy the entire planet.
19211  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Top 10 "Post-Christian" Cities In America on: July 13, 2017, 01:16:04 AM
Surprised to see San Francisco in that list. With the huge Hispanic population there, I was thinking that Catholics would be a majority in that city. Also, there are a lot of Pentecostal and evangelical Christians from the former USSR living there.
19212  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Qatar is still the richest country in the world on: July 13, 2017, 01:14:06 AM
Thank you for this info.
Yes, it seems that Qatar is still no 1 in the world but it can change very quickly.
Qatar is in a very hostile environment and in political and economic blockade by neighbors.
Some predictions suggest possible violent conflict resolution and war.
In such scenario, Qatar will loose freedom and wealth.

Do you think that the Saudis have the balls to invade Qatar and loot the natural resources? Do you remember what happened to Kuwait, after the Iraqis invaded that nation? Also, there are American military bases inside Qatar, and this rules out any chance of a third party invasion.
19213  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 12, 2017, 02:26:24 AM
If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.

I would choose Bitcoin because I think Bitcoin will grow in 10 years time. Meanwhile, the price of gold is too stable so I think the profit earned from gold in 10 years is not much. Therefore, investing in Bitcoin is a bit risky and risky, but the profit made after 10 years is extremely large

You can't say that the returns from gold during the last 10 years was low. Check the historic prices. In 2007, the price of gold was $695 per oz, which went up to around $1,800 per Oz. in 2012. So it will be wrong to say that the returns from gold were low.
19214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ? on: July 12, 2017, 02:22:53 AM
Even if you invested in bitcoin in the earlier days, you would of still needed to hold on to your investment before it turned into something that most people would consider "rich".

Wallet hacks and robberies were also very common back then. During 2013, I saw a lot of threads here complaining that tens of thousands of coins were stolen by the hackers. And off course, a few people also spent their coins carelessly. Remember the BTC50,000 pizza?
19215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: Goldman Sachs says bitcoin could rise another 50% on: July 12, 2017, 02:20:08 AM
If an anti-Bitcoin cartel such as the Goldman sucks can say like this, then we can be sure that the future potential of Bitcoin is great. I am waiting for August 1. If everything goes as per the plan, then we may touch $5,000 per coin very shortly.
19216  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: July 12, 2017, 02:17:29 AM
Yes, taxes are certainly a theft. People constantly spend their money in the course of their lives to the state, but with this money, the rulers just have fun and do not want to take care of the country.

In some countries, the tax money is carefully spent. Examples are Singapore and Switzerland. But some other countries spend most of this money in importing immigrants from the third world nations, and to invade foreign countries such as Libya and Syria.
19217  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS Leader is dead on: July 12, 2017, 02:14:51 AM
Ahhh... the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). If I am not wrong the SOHR is a single Syrian immigrant operating out of his laptop from his home somewhere in the United Kingdom. That said, if Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is actually dead, then it is great news.
19218  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Religion is like a Penis on: July 12, 2017, 02:07:45 AM
Conversion to Christianity is only the beginning. If they took time off to study the New Testament for 10 years, they would find that the only conquering we Christians do is through preaching. This does not mean that we won't fight for self-protection when necessary.

Cool

There is a famous quote by the famous Hindu preacher Swami Vivekananda. It goes like this: "And then every man going out of the Hindu pale is not only a man less, but an enemy more". He made this quote more than 100 years ago. But Hindus like me are realizing it's importance only now. The two Semitic religions (Islam and Christianity) has exploited the tolerant nature of Hinduism to convert hundreds of millions of poor people.
19219  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drug free in the Philippines on: July 12, 2017, 02:03:33 AM
He disregards the sanctity of life and nullifies civil liberties in the name of what he believes to be just. He is also a massive hypocrite as he is addicted to (albeit medically prescribed) drugs himself. You are a fool if you believe drug use will not continue to exist. It will only be the vulnerable and powerless that are persecuted.

Do you think that Duterte bothers about your latest bout of verbal diarrhea? Do you have any evidence to prove that he is a drug addict himself? Sanctity of life must be there. But that shouldn't mean that the drug kingpins should be allowed to drown the Filipinos in meth and crack.

19220  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is there going to be WAR in China and India ? on: July 12, 2017, 01:59:01 AM
I highly doubt a traditional war will erupt between two world powers. It will simply be too devastating to economies which are highly interconnected in 2017. With that said, a trade war or proxy war is far more likely and just as messy often times. A trade war is where I would put my money in the future. China and India are two very similar nations I could see them feuding in the near future.

A trade war is very much possible, given that India is one of the top importers of Chinese electronics and household appliances. India can impose a tariff on the Chinese made goods, including electronics and steel.
