1941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would the world be if Bitcoin wasn't created on: October 19, 2022, 08:30:28 PM
Share your thought on this .. what do you think would have been situation if Bitcoin was not created
A problem was identified and it prompted the innovation of bitcoins, it means that if that problem had not been solved there is a high probability that it would still have existed today and also a probability that maybe another solution would have arised. I don't think we can say for sure or really know how the situation would have been if bitcoins were not created because bitcoins were created. Whatever is being said is just a wild guess. It may have been better, it may have been worse.

Let's see with what honesty the prizes will be distributed in the future.
Many persons to do not believe the credibility of this award and the opinion they have is that it is plagued with partiality and biasness. For instance there has been a lot of expressed dissatisfaction to the award given to Gavi, where others believed that the most eligible for that award in that category was Camavinga who was a super sub and was very influential to Real Madrid's last season success, then why was the best team Manchester city and not Real Madrid which had one of the most difficult fixtures last season in the UCL but we're still able to pull through even when they looked at a disadvantage, they showed great team spirit and should have been awarded for it.
1943  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What you need to know to avoid possible scam on: October 18, 2022, 08:53:11 PM
I appreciate your concern, but there's nothing that you've said here that is new, the only difference is that you said it in a different way.

In telegram group, when different account chat you and asking to help you then you know they are seeing a new catch or prey to eat up, run away. Admin is the only account to respond to with care because you don't have to believe everything you hear.
first thing to point out is that you cannot even trust the admin, Do not be fooled by titles . "Admin" is just a word, a title like CEO that can be answered by anyone, so you should not easily fall prey to titles or positions claimed to be occupied by individuals who want to help you.

Another way you can avoid being scammed is to delay your "intending scammer" on the information they require you to give.
Not being too much in a hurry to make a decision can also save you from scammers, apart from the fact that slow decision-making can be irritating to scammers... it can also give you time to rethink and evaluate your decisions and options so a better decision can be made.

1944  Economy / Economics / Re: Corruption Should Be Taught From Young Age on: October 18, 2022, 08:40:14 PM
However, I believe that if the problem of corruption can be addressed at a young age, every country's degree of corruption will significantly decline in the near future.
The surest way to discourage corruption is to state clearly strong punishments for defaulters and ensure that the defaulters are made to face the full penalty of the law. If an example is made out of some individuals, it can prompt change which can have a ripple effect on the mindset of other individuals. Corruption can be an effect of an environmental factor that is when everyone around you is corrupt it is difficult for you to maintain an incorruptible culture, In other words, an environment full of incorruptible people can turn a corrupt person for the better.
1945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Net Bitcoin ATMs growth drops globally for the first time ever on: October 18, 2022, 03:04:28 PM
What do you think? Will the nearly 14 crypto ATMs being installed globally per day be able to compensate for the 796 crypto ATMs that were pulled off from the global network in September?
I'd say this is highly expected, as we can see that these are really the first set of wide scale challenges that the progress of bitcoin ATMs will be facing. A reduction in the number of bitcoin ATMs does not indicate a reduction in the number of bitcoin users. In the traditional banking system we see how many times ATMs are installed and then later removed from that locations either to be put elsewhere or to be sent back into storage, it hasn't affected or stopped people from getting to the new locations to still use these ATMs. Bitcoins will still do fine even without the BATM's.
1946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 18, 2022, 02:06:35 PM
I'm really looking forward to the game between Arsenal vs Man City which is still pending.
One thing that the liverpool-manchester city game has shown us is that Manchester city are still be beatable and able to be contained with good tactics. Prior to this Liverpool game I don't think any other team that Manchester city has faced this season has really tried their defensive line the way Liverpool did. Manchester city can score yes but can they defend as much as they can score? that is the question that Liverpool has answered and many other teams like arsenal will be looking to exploit them tactically. I can't say for sure that will win Manchester city when we play but Arsenal will give them a tough time.

1947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What problem does Bitcoin solve? on: October 17, 2022, 09:34:38 PM
...people think that it will solve every problem, including poverty, lol.
This is the most motivating reason that has prompted many persons to bitcoin especially in places like Africa where the poverty rate is very high. Unfortunately sometimes these persons later get to realise that that mindset of a get-rich-quick scheme that they have about bitcoin is false especially when they witness and are affected by a decline in price. Bitcoins can make you rich but it is not a get-rich-quick scheme, a lot of persons need to know the difference.
1948  Economy / Economics / Re: Personal Flood Prevention/Sensitization Project. Any Ideas? on: October 17, 2022, 09:16:33 PM
I want to do something. And, I have been thinking real hard about how I as an individual can help ensure that this flooding doesn't recur. I do not mind writing a proposal to the government. I just need some ideas. How have you tackled flooding in your country? What works and what doesn't? Share your thoughts with me.
I'm sorry to say but your effort alone will not amount to much if a bad government is still in power. The government know exactly what to do but this again is a result of the failure on their part to complete projects. From the news,

Records indicate that Cameroon and Nigeria were  supposed to build two dams at inception, such that the Nigerian dam, known as Dasin Hausa dam which was to be in Adamawa State, would contain water released from the Lagdo Dam at any point in time.

Completion and fulfillment of the agreement to build a dam would have saved us the current situation Nigeria is currently in with the flood. if you are searching for ideas on what to do, you can consider writing an open or closed letter to them urging them to complete the agreement and finish the dam.
1949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency should be infused to academic systems on: October 17, 2022, 04:31:05 PM
Cryptocurrency should be adopted as a course of study in academic systems worldwide, from basic classes, through the higher institutions.
Cryptocurrency should be taught to little children at tender age and implemented/approved for basic transactions within academic environments to improve knowledge and usage, spread and utility of cryptocurrency to ensure safer and smarter transactions as well as to enlighten the students as kids and adults on the utility, conservation, spread and improvement of cryptocurrency.
It should also be made known that knowledge of Cryptocurrency is a form of empowerment to the young ones and adults.
While we wait for cryptocurrency to be included in our academic system which may take a while as crypto is still fighting for acceptance on a mainstream, we can first become academics to the young people around us and try to educate them about cryptocurrency just as some members of this forum have been doing for some time now. It takes little resources to arouse interest in people, and knowing that waiting for the people in charge of reviewing educational curriculum to add cryptocurrency to academics may mean waiting for a long time, we can start today to play our part before the government.

1951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Catholic Nuns Who Are Building a New Church With Bitcoin on: October 17, 2022, 10:41:20 AM
It is a good thing to read that even people with such strong religious orientation and aged background can still be open to learning and adopting bitcoin. It shows that for other people who are hiding behind religious reasons and being hostile towards bitcoin and give the excuse of their age are just looking for excuses. This story defeats the ideology that religious people are not accomodating to new ideas and innovations.
1952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 16, 2022, 09:57:14 PM
Bayern Munich 5 - 0  Freiburg
Good result for Bayern once again, Happy to see that Sadio Mane is one of the people with his name on the scoresheet with a very well comfortably finished goal. Leroy Sane is on fire this season, such great form and i hope that injuries don't keep him from continuing to play. His strike for Bayern reminded us of the likes some Legends for the club like Robben who use to score similar goals in those days from such distance.
1953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 16, 2022, 09:15:15 PM
Would you be influenced by your favourite Celebrity who you know gambles and one day happens to post the games he played, would you be influenced to play the same game?

I am bringing up this because a popular Canadian musician Drake posted the games he played today on Stake,

Many of his fans who are into gambling as well, may have played same game without thinking. As it turns out, the game did not go as predicted for him and his bet lost.
1954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 16, 2022, 04:26:45 PM
Liverpool vs Manchester City
Arsenal fans will be definitely depending on Liverpool right now to either hold Manchester city to a draw or better still get all three points. both teams have played fairly balanced football in this first half hopefully in the second half of season goals but I prefer the goals to come from Liverpool and not Manchester city.

We (arsenal) did well to soak up the pressure from Leeds United in the second half, they played so well and had so many chances in front of our goal. when the game started and I saw the way Rodrigo was playing I thought maybe he will cause a problem for about line, but the opposite happened and his mistake gave us the goal. with the introduction of Patrick bamford for Rodrigo in the second half Leeds played much better and were more threatening with those burst run through our defence. We were lucky that they missed a penalty and that the second penalty that was given was later annulled.
1955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 16, 2022, 01:43:41 PM
does anyone know why the arsenal match has not been played?
According to reports from the commentators, they are experiencing technical failure caused by power outage in the stadium so it has forced the referee to suspend the game for the now till they can get the VAR and goal line technology back up and running. This extra delay may have a toll on the players who may become nervous after having played just a few minutes. We waiting for kick off.

For the Aston villa Chelsea game Chelsea have been very lucky so far scoring with their first chance and opportunity but in truth this first half have been clearly dominated by Aston villa who have had more opportunities but Chelsea have been saved a couple of times by their goalkeeper Kepa and the Goal post.
1956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 15, 2022, 06:43:05 PM
Tottenham must give an impressive performance against Everton...
Tottenham's performance today totally outclassed Everton who did not have so many attempts on goal both in the first and second half. Conte's tactical change that saw Bissouma introduced after Richarlison's injury improved Tottenham's play and created the opportunity for the two goals that they scored. More problems now for Frank lampard's side who I think were very unresponsive in the game and failed to make changes to their play and tactics even after Tottenham made changes to theirs with Bissouma's introduction where they switched their formation to 3-5-2, and even after observing that the tactics which they entered into the game with was not given them the required or expected result.

Tottenham are currently enjoying their best start to the season under Conte, their supporters will be delighted with their current position on the EPL table.
1957  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture HODL on: October 15, 2022, 03:51:52 PM
If food shortages and price inflation hit. Agricultural HODL could become a viable business strategy.

Similar to being an early investor in bitcoin. Getting in early on agriculture HODL could be a good investment.
There is wisdom in this because even apart from inflation, a lot of other factors are contributing to food shortages including natural occurring disasters. Recently there is heavy flooding in my country and a lot of farm lands have been affected, this in the long run means that we are expecting food shortage if care is not taken. You can imagine the position that people who have stored up food produce are right now which is at an advantage and to sell at any price which they deem fit. Investment in agriculture is something to really consider especially right now. There is this popular Real Estate saying that I would like to relate to agriculture, "The best time to invest in agriculture was yesterday, the next best time is today for the future".
1958  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you name your child after a crypto?? on: October 15, 2022, 03:31:27 PM
I don't mean to sound superstitious but where I'm from we believe that names have power and have an influence on how our children will act so we always try to give our children very good names. Currently because of the very unpredictable nature of any cryptocurrency, I wouldn't consider giving my child a name after a cryptocurrency yet, I would not want my child exhibiting and unpredictable behavior.

Say in the future when bitcoin has achieved stability, the name can be considered then but not currently.
1959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 15, 2022, 03:21:01 PM
Glad to see the blues frontline players intact with their rated form. Chelsea are getting better to shape after the former Brighton coach took over. Mason Mount recording 3 assists in his last 2 games while Pierre Aubameyang having score 3 goals in his last 3 games for the club. Remarkable stats set by the duo and Graham Potter unbeaten track continue and I don't see him in a hurry to lose a game presently.
No doubt Chelsea has been doing well since Graham Potter start at the club. they have played more like the Chelsea we used to know showing resilience. but currently the biggest challenge for the coach and Chelsea will be how to adjust to play without Reece James who most likely will be out for a while due to the injury he picked up during the Milan game , Fonfana out as well and then even Mason Mount that you mentioned may not play in full form because of the Issue with his thighs that prompted him to go for a scan. I didn't even mention Kante. Big concerns for the club.
1960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you choose cryptocurrency as full time job? on: October 15, 2022, 02:03:24 PM
can you choose crypto as full time corporate job?
The concept of a full time job these days that takes up all your time is highly discouraged even if it involves cryptocurrency. The ideal is having multiple sources of income to support your lifestyle and so as not to be so affected if one is affected.

I'm not really sure how to answer this but yes you can example like working on exchange or writing some blog or making video about crypto, The other way was working as Blockchain developer on some sector like Oil, Market, Food, etc and also being a lawyer or even marketing on some blockchain-based company
These are regular jobs that you have described having a fixed agreed sum as payment for your service either monthly, weekly or even daily. It may not be affected by the uncertainties of the market. It is different from when you choose to trade crypto as a full time job on your own.
