guys i see you are all having fun with your lil slush munkey i feel i have somethin that is worth at least a reply. lemme see,
drk miner enforcement worries replies -0
drk munkey troll replies - 8

so heres it one more time,
i really dont see why enforcement shouldnt be switched on. theirs 1pool that is paying 10% for months and now they will get even more time. i worry that other pools will switch back to 10% or more drkminers decide to move to the 10% pool. Either way rc4 should have enforcement on no matter what.

thank you

Because it can go wrong? And there is no room for that? Are you fucking retarded or did you just want to hear this to stir shit? Can you not post in the testing thread where people are putting in hours and hours of work?

Spork, mate. Starts to go tits up, it can be turned off.

For what it's worth I agree, I would have switched it on long ago.

but the fact is, Darkcoin, when it's ready, will be THE best currency that exists

Barring apocalyptic meltdown, yes, it really will.  Smiley

What do you think of i2p? Monero is gonna work with them.

God I hope not for the sake of the i2p guys. It took the XMR clowns months to build a basic GUI. I put together my own DRK wallet in a about five hours, knowing jack about QT.  Tongue

To be fair, I think it's being delayed due to a proper blockchain database not existing presently, rather than simply not being able to create GUI (I mean, if crouton can do it, ANYONE can (being a Brit and all (even though he might be one of the smartest ones))).  Grin

Not sure what a blockchain database has to do with making some clickable buttons that do things instead of typed CLI commands... no, I think XMR developers cut'n'pasters are just plain clueless.  Grin

Just thinking, isn't it risky for Evan to be known publicly?

I mean, if anyone does make a successful truly anonymous coin, some state/country will want his head no?

Just fearing for my Evan

I think if the spooks find Darkcoin useful, Evan is going to be one of the most protected people on Earth.  Grin

Plus, being well known publicly makes it slightly more inconvenient to disappear you.

@salmion
I don't have anything bad to say about drk... hence not fud on drk.. just the fudding that occured this weekend by certain of them I'm asking quesiton about. note the suggestion in the thread I posted that it be posted on bct which IS fud.

Is nobody allowed to ask questions about other coins and investigate how they work, or don't, without your permission?  Roll Eyes

If someone could prove something was a non-functional scam would you rather they said nothing and just let people go on being fleeced?
1952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: August 11, 2014, 08:49:27 AM
After all that has happened people are OK with letting 400k darkcoins sit on Mintpal.

4000 btc worth people are not keeping in their wallet. Crazy. Soon that could be 8000 worth of btc Mintpal holds in dark.

If you have thousands on Mintpal why not move a few?

And I wonder how many of those accounts don't have 2FA...

Is, is, that really needed though? I mean windows is secure enough.
Why would you need 2 factor authentication?

Windows is secure? LOL hahaha! Good one!
If you don't have 2FA activated then you are crazy man.
8 year old kids will hack your shit. They get your password for your email address and use that to reset your exchange password and BOOM they have access to all your coins. 2FA stops this from happening.

Not being a lazy cretin and keeping your money on exchanges also stops this from happening.

The guys who doubt that DRK will reach its previous peak make me laugh. Anonymous currency will be a multi billion dollar market in the not too distant future. There are hundreds of billions of dollars waiting on a solution for anonymity (though the vast majority are probably not even aware of crypto at this point). To think that a functional anonymous currency couldn't exceed a 70 million dollar market cap is ludicrous. Even funnier are the ones who doubt that anonymity is desirable at all. I mean how clueless do you have to be to hold such a view? It defies belief.

Succinct and cogent. We need to make sure that the people who would benefit most from untraceable digital cash are aware of its existence. The rich by and large aren't complete fools, give them a useful tool and they will use it.

Guns are a bit like nethash - when evenly distributed, everything is (mostly) fine, but when concentrated in the hands of a few, the rest of us are fucked.

Everyone who values freedom should join the NRA. If you're in the UK, check out www.nra.org.uk and book yourself an introductory course, friendliest folk you'll meet.   Kiss   Or contact your local practical shotgun club (see four4islands.org), top fun with a boomstick, no tweed jacket required.

Not sure about the even distribution of guns being so positive - I would not like to live in central african countries where the guns are widespread, cheap and unregulated. Even when looking at western world, USA has 10x the amount of murders per capita compared to western european countries... guess why! I am not trying to push my subjective opinion here but the numbers do not lie.

There are better analogies than nethash to guns Wink

You're right. Wink

I'm not sure I agree with this...

http://www.coindesk.com/need-altcoins-can-get/

I don't see a problem really with shitcoins apart from the PR one - the worthy coins get tarnished with the crap. But crypto is evolution in a crucible, both for the tech and for the 'investors'  Grin

Pop into certain other coin threads here and you'll see that there are fools lining up to have their money taken from them, they can't get enough of empty promises, snippets of fake IRC dev chat, and silly diagrams.

While idiots continue to buy obvious garbage, scammers will keep profiting from them.

nearly 900 Masternodes

When you consider that the IQ of the average bitcointalk forum user appears to be about 80 at best, and most of them have the attention span of a headless chicken, this is really quite a staggering achievement...  Grin

To all those cryptokids spreading their negativity regarding this anon coin or another on this thread or the other: have you taken 100% of your portfolio and bet on one solution? Is that a good idea? Come on, even the staunchest supporter with half a brain knows deep down inside that it is not.

If you believe in anonymity then portfolio diversification is a good thing. Convinced that your favorite coin is the best, 100% without a doubt? That's fine. But holy bejeezus just take at least 20% of your portfolio and go buy a competitor.  This will make you a better trader/investor. You will see things more openly and be more critical of even your core holdings. Go form some positive constructive criticism for your favorite coin to help improve their product. Rather than spreading your vapid negativity go post something constructive and convince me why I should buy something you are so obviously holding. If you can't do that please just calm the fuck down and go do something more productive with your life for a while.

I said at least a thousand pages back that I'd hedge DRK if there was anything worthwhile to hedge with. There wasn't then and there isn't now.

There's cryptonote stuff that all has problems, and if the original devs can't sort them out then the shitcloners aren't going to, then there's the other crap which is pure unadulterated fuck-all. I had a read of the croak thread yesterday and it's pitiful. Half the  people there are operating on blind faith in obvious bullshit and the rest are preying on them.

I'm a fan of Darkcoin and its developers because it's actually real, it works, I can verify this myself and so can anyone else. The cloak gobblers will get what they deserve for their stupidity but there's no joy in watching them get taken.

There is no credible competition, although I have devised two separate ways of doing completely anonymous transactions that I'm holding in reserve should the need arise. Both are so fundamentally simple that it hurts... which actually becomes a problem from an economic standpoint, I need to work on that...

I think everyone has held VertCoin at one stage.  I thought NRS was going to turn out OK but it's dead now...  I keep coming back to DRK, I can't find anything out there other than BTC to add to my portfolio...

VTC seemed to be promising but even Asic resistance could not benefit it.

Yeah I went LTC (2 days) > VTC (2-3 weeks) > DRK (as soon as I heard about it to present)

X11 and inflation killed VTC...

edit: I have about £10 each worth of NXT and Ducknote.  Tongue

Anyone ever had problems sending funds to Poloniex? It never reached there, opened a ticket which has escalated, but its been 22h and no response

They're a monero shop these days, expect heel dragging for anything DRK related. In the past though just asking politely in the trollbox has got the few problems I ever had there sorted out reasonably quickly.

Apropos of nothing, a few weeks back when I was playing around with NXT assets Cryptsy took four entire days to release £10 worth of NXT to me. First, last, only time on Cryptsy...
