I had a list of reasons to refine not re-launch, but I think the Cryptsy thing trumps everything including that some of us own some of the current coin. BitcoinNational said, "42 is not just a number it is a Holy name." He is right. The holy name is the foundation of my vision. Some points for my vision:- Stop marketing the 42 as rare. Build it as the currency of the cynical/enlighted/rebellious/comedic spender.
- Get Terry Jones to sing a song about it. If neither he nor John Cleese are available, I'll find someone else.
- Make an effort to get cooperation from the owners of the intellectual property of Douglas Adams (PBUH). We likely have little funding BUT cryptocurrency and this cryptocurrency in particular mesh neatly with the ideas Douglas put forth so long ago. The man was a prophet.
- Revamp that graphical wallets based on the previous items.
- Change the algorithm. Previously in this thread, I was introduced to Proof of Stake. I now lean that way. I am not sympathetic to miners even though I am one. Currencies do not exist to enrich the printers or mints. They exist to earn a place in the hearts of many people.
- GET THE 42 INTO THE NEWS. DISCLAIMER: I do NOT mean use it to finance hit jobs on various politicians/celebrities; that's Hollywood's job.
- Innovate a bit. This will require lots of input/discourse. I'm thinking of preventing deflation.
- Entice Vendors. Should be easy with the 42.
- Recast the 42 as a religion not a cryptocurrency

If it's exchanging for $ with different rate then I disagree. Some people will buy NXT coins just to issue assets. Some people will buy them just to prepay for secure messaging. If you buy into cryptocoins with the intention of selling them at a later point, again, I stand by what I said, that is the same as loan. You are "loaning" your money to the market or an investor with the intention of making that money back with interest in the future. Whether your funds go to one party (developer) and are returned through another (market) makes no difference in this argument.

Everything about money. They just copy&paste cuz to create good stable coin with good futures need invest.. and sorry but 90% of this crappy coins here are made only for money..... There is as well a lot of groups now which are making new coins per week... including devs graphic websmasters etc... I know personally 2 groups and they have made min 3 coins now.. 1 with premine 2nd with instamine and 3rd with Hidden premine atm all this 3coins are dead.... but there is problem in community. Why? 90% users here are only mining at start 1-3days to get some fast coins and thats all usually after max 1 week net hash rate drops more than 50%, there is no effort from community ( no social piublic, ) You guys donīt even know how much help us when You click Vote, Like, Follow, Share.... You can say " apff itīs only my person which donīt click this but there is 80% people like You.... and if all this person want success for coin than why not support???

This is something what WE need in AltCoins!!! I told about some restrictions XXX times... Why We need this? - 0 Activity post and New coin with SUPER EXTRA HYPER ALGO ble ble ble... and inside wallet suprise virus.exe - Investors loosing money here 0.1 btc here 0.1 etc etc. - Exchanges full of shit coins with 0.00001 BTC volume - Coins which You can not trade for BTC ( cuz of amount) - Why this will not help? - People wil lmake accounts earlier make some posts ( usually ANTY OTHER COIN r. Spreading FUD) - They will buy users accounts - They will rent users to creat accounts My idea: - New altcoin owner should explain and show Moderator/Admin his BTC or Fiat balance - This should prevent NO INVEST COINs... ( i mean coins which are 100% copy&paste) Where is problem? We donīt know who is behind... and if there is 1 group behind most of this coins? If They are woners of some exchanges? or if They are working together? ( Like MT.gox bot?) What if "POS" coins are fakes? and We are mining another coins and we get paid less? In the early days of Nxt, there was at least instance where someone modified the Nxt binaries to transmit the passphrase to their own website, uploaded the modified binaries to a download site, and persuaded some people to use this. At least 3-4 people lost their coins because of this.
A Virus Total link from the dev would be ideal. https://www.virustotal.com/I doubt that would have caught the issue that I described, but a signed file hash from the developer would have. The SHA256 result is the first tidbit a file scan will reveal. most miners are in one (usually unlucky) pool this is not so good * one pool to DDOS and difficulty is down.. i really don't understand people with >100MH/s not mining solo in this difficulty... Has anyone checked to see if the stratum hashpower exploits work with this pool ? Look around.. the x11 coins are littered with these 200-500 mhash whales. GPUS MY ASS !! |

In the early days of Nxt, there was at least instance where someone modified the Nxt binaries to transmit the passphrase to their own website, uploaded the modified binaries to a download site, and persuaded some people to use this. At least 3-4 people lost their coins because of this. As mega.co.nz links don't work for everyone (e.g. servers using curl/wget), direct download mirror links will be offered, and we need a way to verify these. The Nxt team put in a couple of measures to stop this, which I think work well: - Every download has a SHA256 hash - Every important message from the developer (especially those which include a download URL) is signed - The first post links to the signed post with the download link Could you please do something similar?
