Lewis was born to a Jewish[1][2] family above a public house in Roman Road, Bow, London,[3] Lewis left school at 15 to help run his father's West End of London catering business Tavistock Banqueting, starting out as a waiter. When he took the reins, he quickly expanded it by selling luxury goods to American tourists, and also owned West End club the Hanover Grand, where he gave Robert Earl his first job.[3] He later sold the business in 1979 to make his initial wealth.
You sir, are what I deem a racist. Makes sense, racists are very ignorant. Let me ask you this: If this is all insider trading, and not through realizing opportunities that others do not see as the entrepreneurial spirit entails, tell me, oh tell me, what is he doing in bitcoin? What is this insider information that he is about to "thieve" a fortune from?

I actually like Joe Lewis, he's a (quiet) force of good in this world. Huge art collection, donated a ton to worthy causes, etc. I guess it is true that society cannot stand a winner. Can you tell me what he has done that you so abhorrently do not approve of?

I need medication to buy online, which is for my social anxiety. It costs $10 in which i don't have, i need this for school to calm my anxiety down. So far i have been going cold turkey because i didn't have enough money to buy it online, and i've been getting worse lately. Recently lost my part time job so i can't buy anymore bitcoins which totally sucks.
So please can anyone help me?
You don't have $10 to blow? Why are you on the interwebs then? Sell your ASIC miners, and get off your fat ass and work. Then you might get $10. I don't fucking have shit, ASIC miners require lots of PC requirements and i am not that fucking rich. Fine, ban me i don't give a fuck. It's just hard nowadays to find a damn job and i recently just got fired from my part time job. why

This is the WSJ writer Harriet Agnew's twitter page https://twitter.com/HarrietAgnewLots of activity in financial reporting. Would be real egg-on-face to have the wrong Avalon completely. Edit: two earlier crypto pieces: Harriet Agnew @HarrietAgnew 5 Jul @annairrera @tylerwinklevoss @winklevoss The crypto community is pumping up the next new thing: Litecoins http://bit.ly/16beDAD Harriet Agnew @HarrietAgnew 5 Jul Q&A with #Bitcoin backer @tylerwinklevoss: http://bit.ly/1bbQaAI @winklevoss Expand and this is her linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/harriet-agnew/1a/73/23aUniversity of Edinburgh..I highly doubt she would fuck up such a simpleton misunderstanding like Avalon Mining and Avalon Ventures

Best investment ever , is to spend your bitcoins into the economy ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) i think i'm going to buy some, looks good O_O now i have a reason to send money to virtex ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) i bought some stuff from here, the store is called Wholly Hemp and they offer some nice products. The soap is actually unreal, I use it every day. lip balm is good, they actually mailed me another one since they sent me the wrong one, at my disapproval (shipping and packaging). The hair stuff I can't recommend, but maybe that's just my stiff thick asian hair speaking. anyway, 25% of profits go to charity! they earned my business https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=247289.0ohh bitcoin shenanigans, of course. but for shits and giggles, 12 hours from the time of my post

At $100/btc the entire mining industry only makes about $131 million a year. In order to justify investing spending $200 million dollars in bitcoin mining these people must believe the price will go far higher then that. Hopefully this will cause some more people to want to buy ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) 200M to secure a confirmed portion of what might be the new financial backbone of the world? surrrre why not, got billions more Perhaps the Paypal rumour for this month is true and this guy knows it. I feel like us little are guys are really not included in the real market happenings these days. It has moved up beyond us methinks. you think bitcoin acquistions happen on the orderbooks? think again..

Also.. if you were about to drop $200Million into a mining outfit... you'd probably have dropped a massive chunk straight into buying bitcoins just before publicizing the news.
I still smell a stinking ball of incestuous journalists feeding off the same rumour. Would love to be wrong though!
No way the WSJ would publish a story like this without checking everything out. Sure, and the total bitcoin market cap is around $1 billion. This guy could personally bid it up to $200. If he has a huge investment in chip capacity it would be in his interests to keep the price going up in order to sell chips.
There isn't even close to $200M on the orderbooks combined. I think he can get a little bit under 100K Bitcoin's for 200M, after slippage When I said $200, I meant he could buy enough to drive the price to $200 dollars. Not that he could buy $200mil worth. Keeping the price up would increase the value of his mining chip investment. This guy is mainly a ForEx trader. Whatever his plan is, bravo to him for seeing opportunity where most others of similar influence did not dare to tread #entrepreneurship

I don't know, but it would be a crazy coincidence that it would be both Avalon and 200 million again.
Plus, of all companies why Avalon?
they were the first ASIC producers to come to market, so proven track record also, Phoenix probably negotiated the best deal with them Also, their identities are known and they aren't massive failures like BFL. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Maybe Joe Lewis is an avid reader of Phinnaeus Gage's posts! He'd be wise to do so ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Bitcoins market seems to be seasonal. My guess is this fall we will at least get near $200. By November probably.
Interesting. Any ideas why this is? Will that mean that around next April is when we might see $1000? Discounting major spikes again, I'd say no. IMO $1000 won't be stably reached until late 2014. I am perfectly fine with late 2014. i'm not, i have a small country to start up :p Sooner is better of course. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Unfortunately my small stash would not be worth enough at $1000 to start a country. It would be enough to pay for my kids college though, at a private institution. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) That was my main goal with investing anyways. Oh, and hubby wants a new Mercedes too. it's okay you guys can live with us ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) == My guess was "before 2013 ends" but I suppose I'm tempted to put even more of a constraint on it. "before september ends"
