At $100/btc the entire mining industry only makes about $131 million a year. In order to justify investing spending $200 million dollars in bitcoin mining these people must believe the price will go far higher then that. Hopefully this will cause some more people to want to buy  200M to secure a confirmed portion of what might be the new financial backbone of the world? surrrre why not, got billions more Perhaps the Paypal rumour for this month is true and this guy knows it. I feel like us little are guys are really not included in the real market happenings these days. If he has a huge investment in chip capacity it would be in his interests to keep the price going up in order to sell chips.
There isn't even close to $200M on the orderbooks combined. I think he can get a little bit under 100K Bitcoin's for 200M, after slippage When I said $200, I meant he could buy enough to drive the price to $200 dollars. Not that he could buy $200mil worth. Keeping the price up would increase the value of his mining chip investment. This guy is mainly a ForEx trader. Plus, of all companies why Avalon?
they were the first ASIC producers to come to market, so proven track record also, Phoenix probably negotiated the best deal with them Also, their identities are known and they aren't massive failures like BFL. Maybe Joe Lewis is an avid reader of Phinnaeus Gage's posts! He'd be wise to do so |

Bitcoins market seems to be seasonal. My guess is this fall we will at least get near $200. By November probably.
Interesting. Any ideas why this is? Will that mean that around next April is when we might see $1000? Discounting major spikes again, I'd say no. IMO $1000 won't be stably reached until late 2014. I am perfectly fine with late 2014. i'm not, i have a small country to start up :p Sooner is better of course. Unfortunately my small stash would not be worth enough at $1000 to start a country. It would be enough to pay for my kids college though, at a private institution. That was my main goal with investing anyways. Oh, and hubby wants a new Mercedes too. it's okay you guys can live with us == My guess was "before 2013 ends" but I suppose I'm tempted to put even more of a constraint on it.
