19401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: "reject reason: high hash". How to fix? on: July 29, 2018, 11:45:25 AM
I tried to mine with one GPU - the same shit  Cry

Was worth a shot.
19402  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Collection of 18.509 found and used Brainwallets on: July 29, 2018, 11:39:37 AM
most of the ones you found  have a 0.00005460 deposit and withdrawal

ie 2 transactions.  so I would adjust the 18,509  down to under 2,000

as it is obvious those addresses where designed and used  to receive then send 0.00005460

0.0000546 seems to start at 899 and end at 18036   that is more then 17,000  where security was basically an

" I don't care do you? "  plan.   But it does interest me  that the first 899  on the list were not like that and used often.
19403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining room cooling - How much airflow for 20kW? on: July 29, 2018, 11:28:54 AM
I’d use the whole room for 80% cold/intake air - and isolate the hot side at the exhaust fan

this is the way to go.

19404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: July 29, 2018, 03:28:15 AM
I am holding 5200 rvn. Which is somewhat like 100 usd.

Maybe I should mine some more.
19405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nobody is buying 1080tis. on: July 29, 2018, 01:44:41 AM
I just bought some off ebay for about $560 after shipping.
Craigslist has a reputation of shady deals, plus there is a certain amount of security risk selling in person.
I am still making $2/day off my Tis.

Everyone is ditching their Tis thinking the 1180 is going to be a beast, and I highly doubt that.  Remember the 1180 Ti won't be out for a while, first will be the 1180, 1170, 1160,  then sometime next year they will release their Ti.  Also the 1180 will be priced much higher than the 1080.  The real question is will the % increase in price between the 1080ti and 1180 be less than the % increase in hashing power.  If not, then you are better off sticking to your 1080s.  Something else to consider is with the mining craze, I am willing to bet that Nvidia takes their warranty for the 1180 down to 1 year or less and makes it non transferrable.  Where the 1080 ti has a 3 year transferrable warranty.  I know 15% of my cards I have had to send back for RMA, and that has to cut into Nividia's bottom line.

If they cut warranty to 1 year the 1080tis will have two years left on warranty.
Would make buying the 1180ti a much harder decision
19406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: "reject reason: high hash". How to fix? on: July 29, 2018, 01:09:59 AM
try it with 1 or 2 gpu's  see if it reads high hash.
19407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: July 29, 2018, 01:08:21 AM
My father always worked in electronics/tech....  He's an RF guy.

Initially he worked for Rolm...  Then Trimble Navigation, Lockheed Martin, Cisco Systems, Hospira.....     Ive always had the ability to see big machines doing unimaginable things.

Back in ~96 my father and his friend almost put a T3 into our house so we could serve out ISDN lines.... good thing we didn't do that lol.  But back in the mid 90's, imagine what it was like to download an 8Mb video in a few seconds....  the first time I ever went with him to the main network hub to check out the setup and see what we were getting into for the hosting service he wanted to do.....   it was awesome.

Nice memories I am sure!
19408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain APW7 Electric Fire with Baikal BK X Units on: July 29, 2018, 12:19:44 AM
Thanks for info.

I won’t say if it’s not broke dont fix it.

And I won’t say fool me once shame on you,
Fool me twice shame on me.

I will ask a few questions.

Power rating for new psu is?

Power rating for old psu is?

120 or 240 volts used?

Power draw on the baikal bx k units?

19410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: July 28, 2018, 05:24:48 PM
Forgive me if this has come up, but is anyone having trouble getting items to show up in their cart on Mineority? I know there have been "issues", but it seems like every else is getting farther than I am...

I had that issue  using chrome on a mac.

try firefox  on a mac  see if it works

or try win 10  and  microsoft edge browser.

I have been working behinf the scnes trying to get a few peoples orders fixed including my own.

So far my order was fixed but the other one I have been asking was yet to be corrected.

This is very disheartening to me.
19411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nobody is buying 1080tis. on: July 28, 2018, 03:12:47 PM
Selling an 1080Ti is probably as annoying as selling a sports car on Craigslist.

You get tons of emails and a few test drives from little kids who can't afford the car in the first place.

Basically everybody wants the GPU because it's a high end card but nobody wants to pay what it's worth.

You just gotta keep trying and eventually it will get sold.

thanks for the reasonable response. i bit the bullet, and decided to list them on ebay. sold 3 already, but they eat such a large fee  Undecided better than nothing i suppose. good thing these are ROI cards. been mining ETC, but at this point, im better off just dumping the cards and throwing that cash into ETC.

you know with the eth pill  they earn a profit .  I am mining mine .
19412  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GMO miner B2: 7NM mining within reach? on: July 28, 2018, 03:02:26 PM
And Bitmain's pending announcement will most likely fall into competing for market on newest specs/efficiencies.

I would think it would , but I never saw them  trail in every single  type of miner they  were selling.

Already back to this gear it now looks like a terrible investment.

As both innosilcion and pangolin claim to work better.

and both innosilicon t2 turbo  releases sooner then OCT1

as does pangolin M10.
19413  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The Squeeze is comin! [official thread for panicking] on: July 28, 2018, 02:59:11 PM
Pretty much rebounded by now. Threads like are pointless, don't think anyone here is going to panicked by fluctuation or bear market.

Depends on when you got into this.
Depends on depth of your pockets.
Depends on what  you have on the line.

yeah early computers were pretty wild, i remember a huge TTY/paper tape terminal my dad had from his military days.

wish there were more pictures. missing was a pic of the hopper you shoveled the coal into  Grin

here is one of my actual  computer shop in while in the navy.

the guy in the photo is one of the DS  it repair techs

this photo is circa 1978  to the right is the card reader
behind him is the computer
to the left  are 2 of 4 tape drives

19416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [1080 | 1080TI] ETHlargement - The Hashrate Hardener on: July 28, 2018, 12:14:14 PM
I can't make it work with NH, I see others had similar issue.

If I only enable Daggerhashimoto, it works fine, but that kind of defeats the whole purpose of NH. So it's good for mining directly, but what am I doing wrong on NH? It crashes at every algo switch, regardless of the OC settings. Crashes with core OC too, negative OC too.

In theory the 33 to 50  boost  on a 1080ti    should be better then any switching.

I simply  set to the 1 algo  Daggerhashimoto  and take the boost.

My 1080ti's are earning 50% more and power use is  very close to the same.

here are 2x 1080ti's and a ryzen 2700  pulling 500 watts  at 12 kwatts a day at 10 cents it is $1.20 in power at 20 cents it is $2.40 in power

https://www.nicehash.com/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

so 4.20 - 1.20 = 3.00 a day profit

or 4.20 - 2.40 = 1.80  a day profit

gear is paid off  so  it is easy peasy
19417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: July 28, 2018, 11:23:32 AM
well I always like to build pc's

So I most likely will keeps the gpus I have.  I am still working on power acquisition.  I am pretty much glutted with gear that  breaks even at 10 cents and loses at 12 cent power.

Here in NJ my cheap solar if capped and buying from the power company at 18 cents is not going to happen.

I have had a nice pc go down the other day and simply fired up a spare to run my   moonlander sticks.

I have a house full of parts.   Bored is not happening  my wish would be to 40 vs 61.  Just to see the tech develop more.  I started on this machine in the Navy a long time ago

19419  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How many watts will this PSU give me on 110v on: July 28, 2018, 03:32:52 AM
I might be wrong but I think the efficiency calculation goes the other way.

1500/.92=1630

Yeah 1630 at the wall.

But they want to use some kind of kit so the ground becomes common and you don’t short the middle board.

There is photo showing how it works.
19420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: July 27, 2018, 11:31:38 PM
Zcash difficulty took a pretty big drop today. No clue why but I’m going to enjoy it while it’s here.

There are other equihash coins - might have been a shift to one of those.

Could also be some GPU miners pulling rigs due to low profitability, or shifting to other more profitable coins.

Could also be normal "luck" variation.

I suspect it's a combination of "all of the above" though.

Agree with your points. As a conspiracy theory junkie it’s more fun to think bitmain is shutting down their units after testing , in order for them to be packaged and shipped.

Don't forget the innosilicon beasts

http://www.innosilicon.com/html/news/26.html

supposed they just did a big burn in of 1000 units and packed them for sales

that is  50,000 x 1000 = 50,000,000sols  or about 70000 1080ti's

so  70,000 x 700 = 49 million worth of 1080ti's to be replaced by about 10 million in A9's

so 49-10 = 40 million drop in the value of 50,000,000 sols of hash power

most of this is on zcash developers and not having 2 or 3 forks ready to go.

Asic resistance for any new coin is pretty simple   just start an algo/new coin with 2 to 3 forks ready for action.

well to all that jumped in on the z9 or A9 good luck.

I went to the forkers  I am mining some BTG and holding my own.

I also  am hodling: BIS and RVN

I went with A9 and Z9 route and sold my Furys and 1070 Minis, only kept 60 1080 Tis. 2 A9s and 4 Z9s replaced my hash at probably 1/4 or less electricity I was using before. All are mining to a single address. All has been mining for about 2 weeks except for 1st A9 which is mining since July 9. So far all 6 have mined 43.53619192 ZECs or 60% of total invested. I am very optimistic that these will recoup initial investment in a month or two and then mine profitably at least till the end of the year.

good business move so far. I just could not buy into  z cash asics  due to the choice made by the developer he simply folded and did not try at least 1 fork.

I am down to very little gear on the gpu end.
I mostly have btc miners and some ltc miners  with  a handful of gpus. 12x 1080ti's
