19461  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drug free in the Philippines on: June 29, 2017, 02:03:30 AM
Because tens of thousands were killed, raped and violated through gangs ran by drug barons. Because hundreds of thousands of lives were destroyed through drugs misuse. Phillipinos then gave one man the mandate to fight the cancer with fire.

Why do you support drug lords and their private armies against the people of Phillipines? Why?

There are plenty of Phillipino members on this board. I hope they will educate you. You cant fight violent sociopaths with kind words. Not with paid thugs and corrupt cops standing behind them.

Sounds fair enough to me. Anyway, this campaign against the drugs and drug lords have yielded a lot of positive results, as evident from the big reduction in the crime rates. But I still want the cops to reduce the number of civilian deaths, resulting from cross-fire.
19462  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the Most Peaceful Countries? on: June 29, 2017, 01:53:56 AM
I'm amazed to read on Wikipedia that Spain is less dangerous than South Korea. My experiences are telling the opposite.
Japan's probably the safest country in the world, thanks to its aging population. Switzerland used to be fantastically peaceful, but some of its neighbors aren't and the borders are easy to cross.

Japan is the safest country because the cops there are very efficient and they prevent the crime from happening. They have one of the lowest rates of murder and rape in the world. Also, they don't import uneducated Muslim immigrants from the third world nations. That helps.
19463  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Duterte's promise to get rid of drugs 29 days left on: June 29, 2017, 01:49:22 AM
Duterte promise to the solve illegal drugs activity in 3-6 months. Can he fullfill his promise? Can he do it in this short period of time. I hope he will be successful at the end of the day. Life must go on. So live our life to the fullest. Its Philippines time so we can work together to change the Philippines for the better country.

i hope duterte can solve illegal drugs activity in its given period. As we can see in the news many drug lords and drug syndicate has been captured and crime rate decreses.

So far the signs are good. Most of the drug kingpins have either fled the country or have been apprehended. The number of drug addicts has declined, and so has the crime rate. The challenge is now to maintain these levels.
19464  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dangerous country on: June 29, 2017, 01:33:57 AM
China, as it is the largest importer of ivories and other animal related parts for it's medical and spiritual needs.

I don't know.. at least the Chinese are not directly killing the elephants for their ivory. All the killing is being done in Africa and India. But you can argue that without the demand from China, these killings would never take place. And in Russia, they are digging up pre-historic Mammoth carcasses from the permafrost, so that the tusks can be exported to China.

Hell yeah. Finally, cloning of mammoths would make an economic sense. Thats capitalism doing miracles right there.

Controversial South Korean cloning guru Professor Hwang Woo-Suk, who is working closely with Russian experts, told The Siberian Times: 'As a result of tireless joint efforts, we have achieved what we call the 'initial stage' on our way to recovering the mammoth.'

Professor Hwang said Putin's interest in his work was 'evident' and that the new World Mammoth Centre, which will include underground laboratories built in the permafrost, will bring the final cloning goal 'closer'.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3714301/Could-bring-woolly-mammoth-life-Scientists-claim-reach-milestone-efforts-clone-hairy-beast.html

To clone the mammoth, first they need to extract a well preserved corpse in which the DNA is not damaged. Such a corpse hasn't been found yet. After 10,000 years lying in the permafrost, I don't think that the DNA will remain undamaged in any condition.
19465  Other / Politics & Society / Re: “No Religion” Is Now Officially Australia’s Top Religion on: June 29, 2017, 01:30:54 AM
I don't find anything worrying about Buddhists. Better encourage more migration from countries like Vietnam and Thailand than South Asia and Middle East. East Asians in particular would make more attractive immigrants. They are almost always considered model immigrants, even having better educational and economic levels than natives.

Yes... Even in the United States and Canada, immigrants from East Asia are having better educational standards and skills when compared to the general population. The same is true even for the Hindus from South Asia.
19466  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are your perception on the leader of maute group? on: June 29, 2017, 01:27:51 AM
when their leaders are dead subordinates will take over. But for sure they will loss morale and blame each other, that will be an advantage in the military. President Duterte will keep on supporting the military to eliminate these pests of the country, there's no place for them on the planet.

That will not work for terrorists. It just happen on a movie that you watch, most terrorists are happy serving their purposes, so when they die, they've rather be thankful that their job is done and die in the time where they are serving their purposes.

The ultimate aim of these terrorists is to achieve martyrdom and 72 virgins in heaven. But at the same time, I have no doubt that their deaths will improve the morale of the army. And also, death of the experienced terrorist can go a long way in winning the battle against them.
19467  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate muslems? on: June 29, 2017, 01:18:56 AM
Some stupid question. Why should someone hate Muslims.

Ether you are a Muslim, or you are living in a region where there are no Muslims. People hate Muslims for these reasons:

1. It is impossible for non-Muslims to live with peace and dignity in Muslim majority areas. Examples:

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/chandigarh/17-yr-old-sikh-girl-kidnapped-forcibly-married-to-muslim-in-pak/articleshow/58424690.cms
http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/hindu-family-in-pakistan-says-daughter-forcibly-converted-to-islam/1/980945.html

2. Muslims always create issues wherever they are a minority:

19468  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Burger King to Accept ... on: June 29, 2017, 01:13:44 AM
Also Bitcoin is simply not made for buying street food. A $1 burger with a $1 fee, anyone?

At least until 2016, one of the major advantages with Bitcoin was that it could be used for micro-payments. But this is no longer possible due to the greed of the miners. But there is still a chance that the fees will come down, once SegWit2X could be implemented.
19469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy more bitcoin or wait for August 1st? on: June 28, 2017, 02:24:09 AM
The splitting of bitcoin cannot really guarantee that the price would go down. It might intead be on another story but your decision is not bad either anyways all is just a prediction is it is really bettef to wait

First of all, it is not clear whether there will be a split or not. Even if there is going to be a split, it is not necessary that the prices will go down. Look at what happened to Ethereum. After Ethereum Classic split from ETH, the prices of ETH actually went up.
19470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: June 28, 2017, 02:22:35 AM
This may be a dumb question - or an area that has already been covered, but do we have a date in which the segwit2x software will be available for miners to actually run, to change their smoke from "intention" to actual "signaling" that counts towards locking in segwit?

Accordingly, since BIP141 is already at about 42%, then the segwit2x portion would only need about 53% in order to add up to 95% and then to lock in segwit, right?

Seems like there is enough support.. but an ongoing problem is that there is a difference between actually running software and merely asserting intention.. .. and I know that there is some locking in, as well.. with BIP148 and also with BIP91 that requires them to actually signal segwit which will bring the segwit number close to 100%.

Somewhere I heard that the miners would have to start running the segwit2x software by July 7 in order to have enough time to lock it in before August 1 and to make BIP148 irrelevant.

Am I on the right track?

Can someone confirm this? How much support is needed for locking the SegWit? Is it 80% or 95%? I heard that support levels of more than 80% for three days will be enough to lock the SegWit. Also, are they planning to run it from July 7?
19471  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Poll] How many people on BitcoinTalk are licenced to carry firearms ? on: June 28, 2017, 02:19:37 AM
No im not licenced to carry firearms, securitas and police have firearms.
I think Finnish Police is not corrupted.
If i need to choose; mining rig or firearm. I choose mining rig.

In Finland, the crime rate is quite low, and therefore you may not need a firearm. Also, the cops are quite efficient, unlike those in the United States. That said, the situation is changing due to immigration from Somalia and Afghanistan. Look at what happened in Sweden. Please don't repeat the same mistakes in Finland.
19472  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are your perception on the leader of maute group? on: June 28, 2017, 02:17:10 AM
Apparently he's not dead yet, that's what they are saying now. These rebels will not lay down their arms though. They are using the lake to escape and bring their supplies with them (coast guard intercepted one boat). Or they'll try to dump their arms and mix with the civilians. A good terrorist is a dead terrorist.

If they mix with the general population, then it will further complicate the things. It can be detrimental in two ways. First, they will have a negative effect on the civilians, by engaging in brainwashing and radicalization. And secondly, the forces will be forced to retaliate if they take cover behind the civilians. This will result in collateral casualties.
19473  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ireland’s first gay prime minister is formally elected on: June 28, 2017, 02:15:02 AM
How can you sell a piece of yourself? After all, trafficking in people is illegal. So why is it allowed to sell unborn children yet? In addition, a woman bearing a child is inflicted enormous harm to her body which is not worth any money. In addition, such children will be weak and more likely to get sick. This is a very dirty business.

There is no evidence to prove that surrogacy is harmful either for the mother or the baby. Most of the babies are healthy and they face no long-term health complications. And in countries where the average salary is like $1,000 per year, a one time payment of $20,000 or $25,000 can go a long way in eradicating poverty.

There are negative effects, it is simply not profitable to spread information about them. In the first place, there is a psychological trauma of a mother's break with a child. At the physical level, the implantation of foreign embryos in the mother's body also has a negative effect and very often these rudiments can not take root in a foreign organism. In addition, this affects karma not in the best way. The economy needs to be improved in other ways, and not by this dirty business.

You can talk like this because most probably you hail from a developed nation and you can find a job quite easily. But think about those uneducated women in the third world countries. Most of the times, they have very few choices to earn a living. And for them, surrogacy is a better option when compared to prostitution and robbery.
19474  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the United States of America? on: June 28, 2017, 02:12:54 AM
You can't trust any other country's government mate. I even say that you can't trust your own government. Cheesy
As far as country is concerned, every country think of themselves and their own well being, everyone has their secrets and versions of Truth. Trust yourself that's all is what matters.

Nowadays the government hides a lot of the facts from its citizens. They ban the dissemination of information, saying that all that data is classified. This can be due to many reasons, but the primary reason may be to hide the unethical practices of the politicians.
19475  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Africa should be nuked, all evil originated there on: June 28, 2017, 02:11:38 AM
Well, that's really how they roll. If they can get away with it, they will. Their laws have biases against foreigners, primarily non-Muslims.

It seems some nationality only get off because of fear of diplomatic repercussions, though as we've seen in recent years, even whites are no longer safe. I remember a man and his fiance being arrested because of "adultery" - basically premarital sex. And that was in Dubai mind you, not freakin Saudi Arabia.

The last time I heard about that incident, the couple was let off and deported as a result of diplomatic intervention. If the same had happened with some unfortunate Bangladeshi or Nepali, then the individuals would have been thrown to some prison in the middle of the desert, without any contact with lawyers or relatives.
19476  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian chauvinism and Putin his Fuhrer on: June 28, 2017, 01:39:38 AM
Looks like the Azerbaijani is still butt-hurt from the beating he received from the Armenian Christians in Karabakh. Why do't you ask your ISIS brothers to help you to reconquer Nagorno Karabakh?
19477  Other / Politics & Society / Re: “No Religion” Is Now Officially Australia’s Top Religion on: June 28, 2017, 01:34:38 AM
There are two main reasons for this. First, as the education levels increase, the religiosity declines in general. This has been seen in Western Europe and North America as well. And secondly, a large part of the migration to Australia comes from East Asian nations such as China and Vietnam, were most of the people are either atheist or non-religious.
19478  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate muslems? on: June 28, 2017, 01:32:09 AM
There so many religions in the world. We must not hate others religion, we cannot change the way or form of their living. All we could do is just respect, respect others religion.

There are so many religions in the world, but none of them are as aggressive as Islam. That is the problem. The expansionist mindset and intolerance is there with Christianity as well, but they don't usually engage in violence.
19479  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drug free in the Philippines on: June 28, 2017, 01:23:56 AM
yes, he can do it. but its not possible only by one man's hardwork, he needs to do change the system., i mean, from where does the drugs comes from, and how they end up on street or so., but i hear they have bigger issue like ISIS now.

I have strong suspicion that the recent ISIS flare-up in Mindanao is a desperate attempt by the drug lords to shift attention from the ongoing war on drugs. The authorities must look in to the source of weapons and funds.
19480  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia is the most aggressive country on: June 28, 2017, 01:17:14 AM

- three states Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia joined the USSR
These states were a part of the Nazi Germany. They joined USSR after the WW2.
Baltic states was occupied by USSR in 1940. Presidents of Latvia and Estonia were sent to prison in Sibir and their governments resigned. Ultimatum to Lithuania was given to join USSR, otherwise army of USSR would invade country.

Before 1940, the Baltic states were ruled by puppet rulers installed by the Nazi Germans. And each of these nations (especially Latvia and Lithuania) had a sizable ethnic German population). The Soviets were afraid that these countries will merge with Germany.
