Hello all, so I've been away the last 2 days and just came home to see that POG officially started. I read all 10 pages of new posts in this thread, then read the POG beginner guide, updated my wallet to 1186 and added "tithe=1" and a nickname to the config. The wallet starts fine and I see the POG stats etc., but please help me understand these problems: 1. current titheinfo: {

}The guide says "maximum difficulty = 65535" and "maximum tithe per day approx. 100k". So how come both these values are way out of specification (and why does the wallet report "tithe_cap 50694"? 2. Up to today I did not cap my utxoamount. Does that mean that probably my current coin age is 0 for all my balance and I cannot receive POG payments (as of now) for 2 months?? 3. Why does "exec bankroll x y" always return "Signing transaction failed", no matter which values for x and y I try (even tried 1 1)? On #1, Ill modify the guide - maximum diff is infinity, but diff > 65535 has the same hardness up to infinity. On #2, Yes, no aged coins. On #3, Wallet must be unlocked first. |

diff 166k? total tithe over 50k? wasnt max 50k? Updated guide. This just means over the last 40 blocks, the tithes exceeded the extrapolated 205 block budget, but this evens itself out over time (as diff drops back down over the next 20 blocks). |

LOL, wow min coin age dropped to 1.5 day then spiked back up to 60 day.
There are chances for newcomers to participate currently as this is still new system. But what happens when the participants increase over time where min coin age remain at min coin age 30 day to 60 days? This is obviously a good problem to have (meaning there is good adoption for PoG), but newcomers will find it more difficult to participate if their BBP have to marinate for 30 or more days. Is this a necessary evil and better than other mining algorithms like PoW or PoS?

On participating, I was just discussing this with MIP, and I don't think there is anything to worry about overall, as I believe what will happen is the difficulty floor per 24 hours will rise (IE it might never drop below 32000), meaning that every user in our network will require > 14 day coin age (this is just an example), so yes, we could have 900 new users that will need to sit for 14 days per tithe, yes its possible, but yes I think that still solves the problem (of solo mining, pow and bitcoin) as whatever that age is, one user is guaranteed to have a stake in biblepay in N number of days, and thats an improvement over solo mining and does not require a web-pool to solve the problem. First of all, you hijacked a fraudulent copy of the client. That prayer was not signed and is not in the chain. You basically took a client and created your own data. POBH isn't something that would be cracked or not cracked. Its just like X11, you dont crack X11. If a farm attacks us with a 51% attack its just like attacking bitcoin. We have a couple extra shields to protect us from 51% attacks however, so no, I don't believe this thread is credible. No one from nicehash has anything on us nor do they want to as we didn't do anything nefarious. Your evil posts against us show that the devil is working through you to try to destroy us but the devil is not going to win against the prayers of the saints. Lets pray that biblepay is a net good for the orphans we sponsor and that we have a bonafide place to exist in the Kingdom. |

That assumption is not correct because it makes the assumption that difficulty does not change. If I am a new user, and I buy 50,000 bbp and break it into 10 notes, I can tithe as soon as difficulty drops below 2000 or so within a couple days. See the difficulty chart. |

For new user is important to set up wallet as simple as possible and start mining (means get first reward) as soon as possible. From this point of view there are two questions: 1. How he can get first coins after he install wallet? To have some coins in the wallet is basic condition for POG am i right? 2. After he get first coins somehow in his wallet how long it will take to get first reward in consideration with actual coin age condition? exactly. some real examples with numbers would help. how can we motivate at least some users to join? 1. User does need to have coins to participate - Remember difficulty does drop at various times of the day. (It was just at 1200 in prod which is easy right now, surprisingly). 2. User can buy coins on SouthXchange. Or they can get some from a faucet. Right now the faucet only offers 2bbp, but we can have a campaign when we are ready to promote this (and when we are in a more professional state). 3. The coins can be used for tithing as long as they meet the difficulty level. See the POG beginners guide, see the table for POG Difficulty. |

To try to cut down on our internal support for this, let me explain it - and then I will modify the code slightly for the next version to simplify this: values for 'tithe=n' in config: tithe=0 - Auto tithing is off tithe=1 - Tithing is automatic - use the network frequency of 4 hours tithe=n (values can now be 2,3,4,5+) - Tithe every n minutes Note the system will not tithe if it finds no applicable coins. The contention in 1.1.8.6 was the value of "2" really was only evaluated to be 120 seconds, but the miner will only tithe when it has been > 120 seconds (This is the point of confusion) - I removed this for simplicity to now match the above table; This change is a leisure and will be in the next version. |

i think we are stuck on pog payment block edit: noo, it works )) it takes eternity to count payouts but we passed 10060 whoaa  I was looking at all kinds of things last night during that block solve period - and I came to the conclusion it was the diff of the block (4100) but not any internal errors on the network. |

Maybe we should have an example config file for doing POG Thanks Kostas One way to look at it is you can leave everything as-is from PODC and just change/add the following lines: tithe=10 genproclimit=1 (or higher) gen=1 Yes the gen and genproclimit are on by default, but some people have them in their file. It's tithe (not tithing). I think POG looks complicated the first week or so but it does offer easy entry with defaults and I think the only thing making it appear complicated is all the extra RPC commands we added; we can deal with all this relatively easily though and the miners will pick up on it pretty fast. It is just a matter of understanding the bar placed on aged coins (IE the getdimensional balance) aspect of POG. |
