No problem I think you have an ok strategy, I personally have a bunch of 0.05 BTC paperwallets which I can import to my Myselium when I need to new funds to spend. The idea about storing you funds in paper wallets is really the safest way, given that the paperwallets are generated in a safe manner. When you import a private key into blockchain.info wallet, then will the blockchain wallet be able to spend any funds associated with that private key. Therefore is these funds "less" safe than before you exposed your private key to the internet. So only transfer the coins you are planning to spend to blockchain.info, if you want to maintain maximum security.

I presume that your "main wallet" is Bitcoin Core, Mycelium, Amory etc.
When you "add" the content of your paper wallet into your "main" wallet, what really happen is that you import the private key. This will allow your main wallet to "spend" from content of your paper wallet.
In order to give more technical details, then would it be helpful to know what software your "main" wallet is.

Not sure exact how Ebay search engine work, but you might miss a few who search on "Casascius".

Salty, I have one of those 1 Oz Silver Philharmonics myself, I snipped it close to spot price. Does it have any numismatic value or do you just consider it as a silver bulion?
Philharmonics don't necessarily have numismatic value, unless its a semi collectable year, but all coins have a minting premium. Finding minted silver at spot is near impossible, because the spot price doesn't factor in machining costs, electrical costs, and mint employee salaries and such. Philharmonics are in a similar boat as US Silver Eagles and Canadian Maples, they carry a higher premium than generic bullion, as they are a quality coin from a recognized mint, but unless its graded, its not going to be a "collector's coin" Thanks. Only thing I find a bit unusual about the coin is that the facevalue is €, but I agree with you. Good luck with the sales

one of these days, I might just take 0.01BTC and figure out how to write a script to dust every single casascius address made, redeemed and unredeemed. That would end the debate. Would you guys hate me?
*We* might not hate you, but historians 100 years from now will probably think you're an asshole. It only takes a $15 baseball bat to wreck a car dealership, and yet people manage to not do it. Ruminate on this for a bit. Reminds me of Herostratus, a greek guy who burned the temple of Artemis for the sole purpose of becoming (in)famous. After being executed, they actually made it forbidden to speak his name upon penalty of death in order to deprive him of his goal. Perhaps its better i be known as the original casascius / physical coin historian myself I would not be surprised if someone one day dusted all the cas coins, just to be the guy who did it. Funny thing is that my rational opinion is that it does not matter = free bitcoins. But I must admit, I think it beautiful to see that 1 single transaction from Mike and the ballance is 1.00000000 BTC. Anyway, if someone transfered 1 Satoshi to my coins and tagged the tx "Herostratus was here", I would properly find it amusing and a piece of history.

Nice set you got there Blazzed. Please correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't the 10 BTC be included to be a complete 2013 silver set?

Another donation campaign? I don't think anyone is going to do that. They have lost lot of money already. This is not the way to go. Community is already broken. i don't know why is this coin popular, nothing innovations, just stunt, mintpal.com is a shit irresponsible exchange already.. Thanks! ...and good luck to both of you too! We can always use more positivity! Sorry but this coin is about to die. There is 300 dollar volume that says everything about it. No one is interested. Well, I still have all my mintcoins, honestly I just enjoy minting. I will keep doing that even if the trade volume is zero and the buy price is 1 litetoshi.

Great offer! Hope someone will scoop these up!

I agree - nothing wrong at all with collecting redeemed coins. I am tempted to pick up a redeemed 25 BTC coin as I definitely can't afford a funded one right now So can anybody tell me what a spent Bitcoin goes for? Be it a 1 BTC piece of a 25 BTC piece, what can one expect to pay? Thanks! Anywhere from .05 to 1BTC I think miffman is right about the price range (unless it is one of the two redeemed 1000 BTC -then would the price be much much higher). There is definitely a market for redeemed coins, but don't see them up for sale to often, bitguy101 had a graded redeemed 25 BTC for sale lately: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=707825.msg7996406#msg7996406I recommend to make a thread "[WTB] Redeemed Casascious coin", then will the offers come in (unless you are lucky one of the Grand collectors read this thread).

Oh man, I thought one could carefully peel the sticker and spend it and make it look like new. I don't have the BTC to spend on a loaded coin but I would love to have one physical Bitcoin to look at. Lol, I know that goes against what Bitcoin stands for but I still would love to have one.
Nothing wrong with collecting redeemed coins (imo). I don't see how his is against what bitcoin stands for. A redeemed coin has lost its face value, but it still have the value of the metal and a numismatic value, of cause the numismatic value is reduced when the coin is redeemed, but still have some value.

Wafdawg is selling a low priced Silver 1 BTC MS64 right now: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=747124.msg8454117#msg8454117The coin is graded, which means it has been evaluated by ANACS for its condition, it has MS64*. I do not know if you are looking for an graded coin, but it is always nice to have the coin in a slap since it protect and preserve the coin. *MS64 A coin graded MS-64 has at least average luster and strike for the type. Several small contact marks in groups, as well as one or two moderately heavy marks may be present. One or two small patches of hairlines may show. Noticeable light scuff marks or defects might be seen within the design or in the field. Overall quality is attractive, with a pleasing eye appeal. If copper, the coin may be slightly dull. Color should be designated.

I am interested to hear how the special edition is priced, now that they are sold out?
(They where originally dirt cheap when bought direct from CryptoImperator)
Love the coin by the way, CryptoImperator did a great job.

Would ANACS grade a coin with "Do it your self" Pkey + hologram? How flexible are they with the writing on the slap, would they e.g. write the full public key there?
I would also recommend making sure anyone who does handle the coin to wear gloves. You'd be surprised at how many non collectors do not realize they shouldn't be handling it. I agree to this. Some people buy coins for 1000's of dollars, but do not spend $10 on a pair unbleached cotton gloves. I would never handle ANY of my coins without gloves. Btw. Nice gold plated coin you made, really impressive Have you considered making a funded coin in the future, even though I know its not your thing?
