1962  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum use in AIRGAPPED Computer on: February 04, 2019, 10:16:48 PM

Yes, but what's the point of such setup anyway? Your private keys never leave TREZOR (unless there is a major security issue but those are fixed relatively fast and usually require a physical access to the device). By the way, since Trezor T supports SD cards and has a built-in screen, in the future it should support offline signing (no need to use any extra software). Unfortunately, no ETA was provided by the developers on their Telegram channel. I am quite sure I have seen a github commit related to this.
1963  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to Forge a BTC transaction using Electrum and Trezor on: February 04, 2019, 09:45:11 PM
Good point but I am just dealing with one Trezor..one account in my case. Still good to know for the person who has multiple accounts

It looks like you have misunderstood me. I am not talking about using multiple TREZOR devices to sign a transaction. TREZOR allows you to create separate accounts which have a different Public Key derived from your Master Public Key. This increases your privacy since it helps you not to mix certain coins, but it's less advanced than Electrum's built-in coin control which can be also used with any TREZOR device. You can generate only up to 20 accounts per passphrase due to performance issues.
1964  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to Forge a BTC transaction using Electrum and Trezor on: February 04, 2019, 09:33:07 PM
The seventh step lacks information on adding any other account than the default one. Each account in the receive tab in TREZOR web interface displays a BIP32 path which needs to be typed in during that step.

Each account in Electrum will be saved in a separate wallet file.

1966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Questions RE: setting up Lightning Node on Raspberry Pi with Stadicus' guide on: February 04, 2019, 09:03:28 PM
After a long time, we managed to get it to work about a week ago. Actually, we have no idea how. Zap iOS didn't want to connect even though Zap desktop was working properly. However, we had to change a few things before Zap desktop started working.

Firstly, we forwarded port 10009 in the router settings and added a firewall exception (sudo ufw allow 10009).

A few changes in the config were needed (sudo nano /home/bitcoin/.lnd/lnd.conf). The following lines were added under the [Application Options] section.

tlsextraip=PUBLIC_IP
rpclisten=0.0.0.0:10009
externalip=PUBLIC_IP

After saving the file and rebooting the node, Zap desktop started to work properly while Zap iOS did not. Why? We have no idea. @Zand_ wanted to try another iOS Lightning Network wallet compatible with an external LND instance. 'Union 7' worked for us after the first try. Surprisingly, after setting up 'Union 7' wallet, Zap iOS app also started to work.

Open a channel just to make a transaction every week? I think i'll pass unless i make lots of transaction through LN or i can route lots of transaction through DarkStar_ channel Cheesy

That's how it would look like, in my opinion.

DarkStar opens a channel to one of the most well-connected nodes with a maximum amount of BTC per channel (~0.16 BTC). Participants of this campaign interested in receiving payments via the Lightning Network would have to open a channel to that node. Note that before receiving money over the Lightning Network, you have to make space for those incoming funds and that's the biggest issue here. Also, 'Sphinx' is still only a draft so every week users would have to generate an invoice and send it to DarkStar. DarkStar's channel would quickly run out of available funds.
1969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Anyone got a lightning address? on: February 03, 2019, 09:09:01 AM
Lightningnetworkstores.com will help you to find a website where you will be able to spend a few satoshis. Check out Yalls, you might find some interesting information there if you pay a small fee via the Lightning Network, of course.

It is also worth to mention that a new draft 'Sphinx' has been published. If both nodes upgrade then it is possible for them to transact with each other without having to generate an invoice. As @pooya87 pointed out, the invoice contains a lot of important information so how does Sphinx work? Detailed explanation can be found here. Sphinx won't be included in the official release anytime soon but using the Lightning Network will become more convenient in the near future.
1970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Questions RE: setting up Lightning Node on Raspberry Pi with Stadicus' guide on: January 27, 2019, 07:40:35 PM
Some people might be following this thread or might find my answer useful in the future. It turned out that zapconnect was out-of-date and had been replaced with lndconnect. Also, the installation process of Go for Raspberry Pi is a bit different. Note: the following commands are supposed to be used by user 'admin'.

cd /usr/local/ && sudo wget https://dl.google.com/go/go1.11.5.linux-armv6l.tar.gz
sudo tar -xvf go1.11.5.linux-armv6l.tar.gz
echo 'PATH="/usr/local/go/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.profile - reconnect after typing in this command

Now, it's time to build lndconnect and use it to generate the QR code needed in the Zap iOS app.

cd ~ && go get -d github.com/LN-Zap/lndconnect
cd /home/admin/src/github.com/LN-Zap/lndconnect
make
cd ~/go/bin
./lndconnect —adminmacaroonpath=/home/bitcoin/.lnd/data/chain/bitcoin/mainnet/admin.macaroon —lnddir=/home/bitcoin/.lnd/ --configfile=/home/bitcoin/.lnd/lnd.conf -j

This command should return a text which needs to be converted to a QR code. This website seems to be a fairly good one to do that.

Right now, we are facing the 'Can't connect to server' error. However, I have just provided @Zand_ a possible solution (related to LND config; port forwarding and ufw rules have been changed correctly). I will add another post once he confirms if my suggestion has worked.
1971  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X - new mobile focused hardware wallet on: January 27, 2019, 10:30:38 AM
Any cool ERC20 wallet that would be compatible on smartphone and show the same addresses than Metamask does?

I don't think if there is any Android Ethereum wallet which supports Ledger Nano S. The only app worth taking look at, in my opinion, is WallETH if you are using an Android device. Unfortunately, it looks like it supports only TREZOR devices.
1972  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor security on: January 26, 2019, 10:38:02 AM
Yes, it is a normal behavior of every TREZOR device. You can easily check it by connecting your TREZOR to your phone charger. The device automatically boots up after it receives power. For example, TREZOR T does not establish a USB connection (no data is sent to the PC) if user doesn't enter the PIN on the device. TREZOR One has to communicate with the PC right after establishing a connection because it is needed for PIN entry.
1973  Local / Polski / Re: Garść statystyk dotyczących sytemu Meritów z naszego lokalnego subforum... on: January 24, 2019, 11:14:24 AM

1974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash Mining - GTX on: January 18, 2019, 03:50:22 PM
Ethereum mining requires at least 3 GB of VRAM due to constantly growing DAG size. Unfortunately, you won't be able to mine Ethereum with those two cards. I haven't used the new NiceHash app but the older one allowed user to choose algorithm. You should be able to mine something else.
1975  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: January 17, 2019, 06:40:13 PM
TREZOR partnered with GRAY and created a new brand Corazon - a limited edition of devices built on Trezor Model T is available for pre-order. The cheapest model costs $942 SGD (~$695 USD) and the most expensive one which is limited to 100 pieces costs $2028 SGD (~$1500 USD). The only difference is that these devices are made of titanium. Functionality remains the same. More information can be found here.
1976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Questions RE: setting up Lightning Node on Raspberry Pi with Stadicus' guide on: January 17, 2019, 04:42:51 PM
Speaking of which, do you know of a way I can connect to my node from an outside network? This way I can play around with it when I have free time at work.

Yes, I do. You have to set up port forwarding on your router (this includes assigning fixed internal IP to your Raspberry Pi and then forwarding port 22 (SSH) to that IP). However, it depends on your ISP whether or not it is possible and the whole process looks different on each device. I can help you set it up but you might have to disclose some sensitive information so I would recommend you to contact me on Telegram or send me a private message/an e-mail. You might find a tutorial on-line for your router, though.
1977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Questions RE: setting up Lightning Node on Raspberry Pi with Stadicus' guide on: January 17, 2019, 02:18:49 PM
Should I delete what I have and paste your copy?

No, that will probably break something. We have to get rid of everything related to Go. Remove the following lines and save the file.

Code:
# set PATH so it includes user's private bin if it exists
if [ -d "$HOME/bin" ] ; then
    PATH="$HOME/bin:$PATH"
fi
export GOPATH=$HOME/go
PATH="$HOME/go/bin:$PATH"
export GOPATH=$HOME/go
PATH="$HOME/go/bin:$PATH"
export GOPATH=$HOME/go
PATH="$HOME/go/bin:$PATH"
export GOPATH=$HOME/go
PATH="$HOME/go/bin:$PATH"
export GOPATH=$HOME/go
PATH="$HOME/go/bin:$PATH"

Now, you can use echo 'PATH="$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin"' >> ~/.profile. Log out and try to use the command from Zap connect.
1978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Questions RE: setting up Lightning Node on Raspberry Pi with Stadicus' guide on: January 17, 2019, 08:34:06 AM
Okay, I have just tested it on my VPS and we have to do one more thing.

cd ~ && nano .profile - I assume that you have nano installed. If not then run sudo apt-get install nano

There is probably a lot of mess there. Delete everything EXCEPT the code below

Code:
# ~/.profile: executed by Bourne-compatible login shells.

if [ "$BASH" ]; then
  if [ -f ~/.bashrc ]; then
    . ~/.bashrc
  fi
fi

mesg n || true

Press CTRL+O at the same time and then enter to save the file. Press CTRL+X to leave the editor.

echo 'PATH="$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin"' >> ~/.profile - Log out after this command and try using the command from Zap connect

By the way, does snap command work for you? I am running Ubuntu 18.04 on my VPS and it suggested using sudo snap install go -classic (it would download the latest version). Give it a try if the rest doesn't work!

By the way, when I installed go the first time around with "sudo apt-get install golang" I got go version go1.7.4 linux/arm. Not sure if that helps

It proves that the package was out-of-date (1.7.4 was released at the end of 2016!).
1979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Questions RE: setting up Lightning Node on Raspberry Pi with Stadicus' guide on: January 16, 2019, 09:59:28 PM
Hey, going to try all of this when I get home. Quick question though - should I do anything to reverse the "sudo chmod -R 777 ~/go" command I entered last night? Or will that automatically happen when I reinstall Go?

It won't happen automatically since these folders were created manually by you. You don't have to change anything. Let's keep these folders with 777 permissions for now. By the way, is there anything beside LND that you run on your Raspberry Pi?
1980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Questions RE: setting up Lightning Node on Raspberry Pi with Stadicus' guide on: January 16, 2019, 10:35:29 AM
I am afraid that the package (golang) is a bit out-of-date (it's a common thing, unfortunately). Can you tell me which version of Go is currently installed? (go version) If it's lower than 1.11.1 then we will have to proceed with the manual installation again. Try the following commands anyway.

sudo apt-get remove golang* - '*' is necessary
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo rm -r /usr/local/go - just in case you accidentally moved the old version

Now, after typing in go version you should see 'Unknown command error'.

cd /usr/local/ && sudo wget https://dl.google.com/go/go1.11.4.linux-armv6l.tar.gz - not the 32 bit version as I recommended earlier but the ARM one
sudo tar -xvf go1.11.4.linux-armv6l.tar.gz
sudo rm go1.11.4.linux-armv6l.tar.gz - let's keep things clean

The $GOPATH should not change but let's make sure that it will work properly. Don't forget to log out after using the commands below.

export GOROOT=/usr/local/go
echo 'export GOPATH=$HOME/go' >> ~/.profile
echo 'PATH="$HOME/go/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.profile

Run go version and you should see go version g1.11.4 linux/arm. Run the command from Zap connect.

I don't want to hold you up from sleep so maybe take a look in the morning when you wake up. Also sent a long overdue BTC tip your way (to the address in your profile) for all the help you've provided.

I fell asleep immediately after making my previous post. Thank you for your generous tip! Now I am considering buying a Raspberry Pi for myself Wink
