Hmm $11 to $12 range earlier ... Looks like it didn't crash and burn today at least ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) But dude, it will never get back to 20! NEVER! EVER! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

AllinVain for the sake of the community could you please let this thread die? I think it would be more appropriate for you to make a detailed post in the Project Development section showing proof of the hack, and then asking donations from in there. Even I will donate something if you do us the favor of closing this unpleasant thread. I feel for you, and thats why I am willing to donate, in an appropriate thread, in it's appropriate section of the forum.
See, that was the part (of many) that tipped me off. The guy just can't let this thread die - or he'd lose out on his donation 'flow' right? Just so obvious after-the-fact and all. I'd say, come clean or at the very least lock this thread - but lets be honest, he won't, because the filthy lucre overcomes any righteous 'judgements' eh? Just watch, it will sink to the bottom and maybe to page two....but....miraculously....it will be refreshed by you-know-who, lol ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

99% of them were stolen. So yes I still have some plus what I'm continuing to mine. Is this your twisted form of consoling me? That's like someone stealing $499 from your wallet and someone comes around and says "cheer up buddy, you still have $1"
It's cool, man - hey, just give in and tell us all how you snookered everyone into believing it. Clever bit of social engineering, really. I mean, how did you get the inspiration to look at the blockchain and target a high-value transfer and claim it as your own? Honestly, took balls, it did. Look what it netted you! A bunch of high-profile stories and no doubt some consolation-donations. That is the clever bit, right? Don't worry, maybe you messed up a bit liquidating this past week - but we all make mistakes. Just hold off on the rest, eh? Well, you probably figured that out when it broke below 7, lol ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Ha! You again. I really wish I sold them, but that is sadly not the case.
No, really, you can drop the facade. I mean, everyone is saying bitcoin is going to zero - it won't matter that much if you do, will it? Unless you are still getting donations, I'm not familiar as to how scams work...

maybe satoshi is selling out?
Allinvain is just liquidating the 25k he 'lost' since his social engineering experiment didn't get any donations.

I'm net positive due to some trading and my low costs basis position in bitcoin. Love the momentary selloffs, panic dips are an ideal time to add to the core position I hold.
After the Dow and S&P indexes finish committing suicide, should be a fun month as investors flee the general market.
Bitcoin isn't going anywhere, as long as the internet exists, it will be just fine.

The current Dow and S&P index implosion should provide some impetus to run the hell away from the dollar. It is going to be a fun month, for sure ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Of course, I'm assuming you aren't in equities at all.

$9.55
Where's TraderTimm?
Sorry, been busy making money after one of your pals, Bernanke, got the rug pulled out from under by Standard and Poors. If you're worried about my cost basis in bitcoin, don't be -- I got in way below parity ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Gold is going to $2,000+, mostly due to the actions of the Federal Reserve.
I believe people were calling it a 'bubble' around $1,000 an ounce, lol.

I just wish allinvain hadn't sold all his 25,000 coins in August. Good social engineering hack with this thread though, had everyone believing you ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

wait gizmodo does something beside aapl keynote coverage??
I did not know that.
Hahahaha, nice. Gizmodo has it's tongue so far up Apple's ... interface, you wonder if they are just a PR-Arm for them. Maybe it was part of the plea-bargin to keep the idiot who broke the iphone 4 story out of jail.

The Fed better print more money - Dow Jones Index is down over 600 points. But I'm sure that is only a few more trillion to get us into the green, right? (LOL.)
Gizmodo has never been 'into' bitcoin. Them declaring it dead isn't a big surprise. So I suppose every day we persist and don't go to zero means they're wrong? Easy bet to take.

Dow Jones Index: 10,838.08 -606.53 (-5.30%)
Yeah, sounds like someone has bigger problems right now -- right Forbes? Luckily all their dollars are backed by the Federal Reserve, who will no doubt print more money to make everything 'okay'.
As long as the internet exists on this planet, bitcoin is fine. Can't say the same for the U.S. Dollar, though.
What a wonderfully red crashilicious-day.

It is sad, but unfortunately the best security is a well-educated bitcoin user. That's the best thing going, so far.

Hey mods, maybe lock this thread since there is a dedicated topic stickied above?

"The Register" prides itself in being the king of snark. Every article is written with that "raised-eyebrow-sneer" that comes from an aloof and emotionally inept web 2.0 'geek' trying to be edgy. They hate most things, it seems. I wouldn't put too much stock into their coverage of bitcoin or anything else, for that matter.

The most obvious feature needed for new users:
Blockchain download progress. Many questions arise from the client not providing this information. Newbies see the mysterious number increment, but have no idea what it is or why their transactions haven't shown up yet.

Closest thing to secure remote storage is IronKey. You still have to handle the transfer steps yourself, of course.

I think educating people about personal security is more useful than foisting wallets on a centralized service right now.
