1961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies and Financial Crime on: July 05, 2023, 08:25:58 PM
The blockchain is meant to be traced, it's more of a database of information for the money sent and receive, I'm sure the government can use that information if they see a crime is evident. We are in the digital age already, there is no room for mistakes if the regulation is serious about fighting financial crimes.

When they caught Ross of Silkroad, they also traced a lot of users thru the transactions on the blockchain. But there are more crimes using fiat money than crypto though.
I remember reading an article stating that the use of bitcoin for crime and scam activities reduced drastically, but other tokens or altcoins are still top players for scams. Even before the institution of bitcoin, crime happened on the internet, without the internet they'll be no bitcoin or online scam, why is the issue settled on bitcoin as the player? We are well aware that bitcoin is used for transaction purposes, so if a person is not genuine they should be blamed not the means of payment. This bad publicity about bitcoin has reduced the number of investors who have genuine interest on bitcoin. And the bitcoin and financial crime tag won't be removed from people's brain anytime soon.
1962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you not hodling on: July 05, 2023, 08:11:52 PM
If financial problem is the only alternative to not hodling, it is better to spend it all. There are colossal amount of reasons why people don't hodl other than financial disputes. If bitcoin is digital money then we also need to spend to make more bitcoin. The idea of money always requires money to make more money. A person that spends bitcoin today won't end up earning the amount of bitcoin he or she earns now in future. If a person gets their pay through bitcoin then what else do you expect them to eat when they don't convert to fiat. Remember we all encourage businesses to accept bitcoin in stores and online skills, they also need to sell to improve the growth of their business. I hodl more and sell some.  Grin
1963  Economy / Economics / Re: Fix the money, Fix the world. on: July 05, 2023, 07:59:04 PM
Eh, I don’t think there is dominance by rich people. They are rich because they know how to use the money to make more money and how to utilise the man power to do so. You wouldn’t believe but rich are those who are setting up their own businesses around the world, they are hiring skilled peoples, paying them the salaries and much more. Let us not make this discussion any harder.

Yes throughout the history there had been some ups and downs. But it’s mostly win win situation. Those who understood the assignment of business they fired it up and went up in the economic point of view and those who did not well they are just crying.

I think it’s all about what is our perspective when looking at money, how we earn, what we do, how much efforts we take for the same.

The rich oppress the poor, that's not new, the world is filled with oppressors. Government and citizens, men and women, Father and Child etc nobody that doesn't feel like they're oppressed especially when love is nowhere to be found. I've gone through some of the history behind the oppressed and realized that nothing solves the problem other than love; the oppressed showing love to the oppressor. As for bitcoin, it's money and can be purchased with fiat so, Op's idea is not solid since the rich can always purchase as many bitcoin as they could, if the world finance moves towards bitcoin. The rich work so hard to keep up their businesses and they use employees to execute menial jobs and take the credit when the job is completed or accomplished.  Things only gets better if everyone focus and work towards their dreams instead of thinking of the stress they're subjected to by their master or boss whatsoever.
1964  Economy / Economics / Re: How billionaires are really affecting the economy. on: July 02, 2023, 03:17:00 PM
It's funny how people will always speak positively about the billionaires and don't think about why then do people suffer? If billionaires help improve the economy why is everything going wrong on earth? Billionaires work closely with Government officials yet they don't bother about the people or citizens or even their customers who made them the billionaires. Quite ok, they pay salaries to people, but they add no extra funds to cover for their taxes knowing that the workers will be taxed by the government. Rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer, because they keep slaving for the rich. Recently, everyone is blaming Bill gates for the outbreak of malaria in Florida, if it's true, we all know how much money he'd gather for providing the vaccines used in treating ill citizens. Everyone thinks about the front and forget completely the back side of rich people. Billionaires invest more in war and crisis than in schools, employees and well being of the people. It takes a lot to become a billionaire and that shouldn't strike the thought of poor men envying the billionaires or blaming them for their condition. The world is a collective effort of people, the poor madee the rich who they're today, the average men buy their services and patronize them everyday. Hence, without the poor men they'll be no rich man. People work hours and get paid peanuts yet blamed for not being industrious or starting their own business. We must understand that satisfaction is not guaranteed, nobody get satisfied of whatever thing they've got including the billionaires that's why, they do everything possible to maintain their position. Don't forget that the billionaires can also end up poor and broke before they die, don't see them as gods or super men, one mistake and they're gone to nothing. In a nutshell, we shouldn't claim that what OP said is not happening.
It is true that there are valid concerns regarding the actions and priorities of billionaires, but it's also important to recognize that not all billionaires behave in the same manner. Some billionaires have made positive contributions to various cases, positively impacting people's lives. It is important to maintain a balanced perspective and acknowledge the complexities and varying perspectives involved in discussions about billionaires and their influence on the world.

Of course almost all positivity got negativity as well. Similarly to the billionaires who didn't make it to the Forbes list, many of them became billionaires by hurting the economy of this world through hazardous practices. The good billionaires with the interest of the people at hand deserves accolades, but I think only a few number of them exists. Since the quest for money never ends, I always expect more billionaires that causes havoc in the economy to erupt.
1965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be intimidated on: July 02, 2023, 01:06:44 PM
I don't think anybody is forced to invest into bitcoin, if a person feels pressured by the success stories of other members, they will never make the right decisions for themselves. And it could lead them to make uncalculated decisions. Hence, your advise is valuable, but will rarely make any change for a person with high fantasies for riches and believes bitcoin will take him there in a short period. It's not intimidation, I think such people impose it on themselves and were not able to control their desperation to earn big through bitcoin. Such people, after selling properties, also add bad PR to bitcoin, if their weirdest dreams didn't come through. As a good number of pressured investors don't hold for a long time.

at the end of the day, remember that it is yourself that has the final say to what you will do with your funds. you can read about other opinions and unsolicited suggestions, but you need to be firm about your decision as this may influence your financial stability if you made wrong choices.
i understand, a lot wants to earn big money on this market, however, they will soon understand that there's more to this than meets the eye in this market, once they are losing some of their investments.

For those who rushed into the market, it'll take them some time to realize the truth, especially the ones who don't research or read about the ups and down of bitcoin market. On the contrary many who found themselves in a plunging market may not take the responsibility, they'll always blame it on bitcoin, also discouraging genuine people from investing into bitcoin. Hence, the money belongs to them but they need not to feel pressured or in a hurry to utilize it in a way they're not sure about.
1966  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk; a school on its own. on: July 02, 2023, 12:41:02 PM
Bitcointalk is indeed a better place to build new networks of people and learn different things everyday in the cryptocurrency space. Do we pay a tuition fee here? I think its different from a school, the education we get here is exceptional, as we learn through individual efforts and also practice what we've learnt here, it helps to cement the ideas on our brain. The forum has histories or stories like any school, we have threads to point back and reflect on, which helps us to recall that many prominent bitcoin users once used this platform.
1967  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Board explanation for newbies on: June 30, 2023, 10:04:25 PM
I know something led to this post, Op must have seen threads where people simplified searches and inserted thread links to some specific topics that'll help newbies learn faster with no much hassles. I've seen multiple compilation of useful threads, but as a result, what OP is asking doesn't add up because the boards are simplified  and well explained already. I suggest that newbies should get familiar with the different boards; it'll help them know where to fix a post.

1969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: June 30, 2023, 07:50:33 PM
I see this as a different avenue of promoting pornography.  This is not a sport cuz it has no sensitive way of entertaining its audience publicly as such, Casinos will have no eligible means of promoting this.

I also agree that this is not a sport event, but a pornographic event. I do not agree that sex made a competition because it is very sensitive and we should not support it. I had no idea how crazy the world is now that sex that should be private would also be up for grabs, to be honest I wouldn't support it.

I really hope this event never happens and if they get permission it should be cancelled.
Something that privacy becomes public and public like it's a bit awkward too if it's on a gambling platform and think it's part of sports and people can gamble on it, we all know that they only promote pornography in the end because of course all gamblers who bet on sports betting like this or this championship of course you have to watch publicly and that's not good either.

Especially now that the gambling platform can also be accessed by minors so that something that is not suitable for public consumption is also shown to minors too, of course, but I don't think there will be any gambling platform that will add this to their site as a championship or any sport because it purely promotes pornography.  Cheesy
I see your point, however, let me push back just a bit. While I agree that gambling platforms need to be responsible, placing all blame squarely on them may not be entirely justifiable. Now, let's break this down logically:

Yes, the aspect of public vs. private is crucial here. It's awkward, as you say, to have a private act become a public spectacle. However, it's important to remember that these platforms are businesses. If there's a demand, they will supply. Sports betting, by its nature, attracts spectators. If that's paired with something explicit, it's only a consequence of that demand. It's less about "promoting pornography" and more about giving the audience what they want. Minors accessing these platforms is, indeed, a serious concern. Yet, we must remember, the responsibility to regulate such access lies not solely with the platform, but also with guardians and government bodies. Implementing effective age verification and parental controls is key. Lastly, stating that no gambling platform would promote this because it "purely promotes pornography" is a bit too sweeping. There are always outliers. Some businesses will push boundaries for profits. It's up to us, the consumers, and the regulators, to push back.

Gambling is a business and if a wider range of people develops intention of staking on the sports, gambling will move towards that aspect. Talking about minors, traditional gambling would be the first to start supporting such sports before it goes to online casinos. Minors utilize online gambling and may be scared to visit traditional casinos, they could get bounced. Gambling can be done peer to peer and nobody would even know that it occurred. Hence, anything that is tagged a competition opens an opportunity for gambling. Watched how the sports happens, the female would run then jump to the man, if her pubic area lands accurately to that of the man, they'll get extra points. It's funny how everyone got their eyes on the sport, but that's pure pornography it shouldn't be encouraged on TV.
1970  Other / Meta / Re: What does post quality really mean on: June 30, 2023, 07:24:21 PM
One good feature of this forum is that, no one specific way of justifying how the distribution of merits work. A quality post can be abandoned with no single merit, despite receiving lots of commendation from members on the comment section. The distribution is decentralized, only people with Smerit can give out merits to a post that pleases their expectations after going through the write up. If you judge it that way, OP, it means members who have over 10,000 posts and 3000 merits are sharing low quality contents in the forum, it's wrong. Every member has a particular user who awarded them the most merits, showing it's a personal expectation, but then the post is always worth the merits. Hence every quality poster suddenly gets merited and most times never thought the post will get some merits.

1972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Relationship between social media and Bitcoin on: June 28, 2023, 05:41:46 PM

The ICO guys learned all these a long time ago and they have been promoting new projects on social media sites. It's only now that regular people heard of BTC on mainstream media where BTC is now validated as a real investment. Social media serves as a platform for marketing projects.

Most probably most people heard BTC for the first time on social media, not on TV or radio. The generation today doesn't even watch or read news on news sites but on social media.

I think they're still utilising social media like Twitter to shill tokens, but what marvels me is the activities happening on the accounts. They run bots on their tweets, you can see an account of 9k followers hitting 100k likes in almost every tweet. They've taken over the #bitcoin. When I looked up bitcoin on the search bar all I could see was tweets with massive impressions, looked them up and found the accounts were fake and bots, I don't think Elon musk is eradicating bots in any way. It marvels me how these crypto projects manipulate twitter to con naive people.
1973  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I'm looking for sponsors/advertisers/blogwriters on my website on: June 28, 2023, 03:13:04 PM

A lot of disadvantages follows Google AdSense, especially for small publishers like OP. Google doesn't provide enough sponsor for small websites and also the rules are much and the publisher can lose all their money in a second for boycotting any rule or policies. When working with ad network they're more like the admin of the site, as they can influence the kind of activities they want on your website, suspicious clicks can lead to the termination of the account, and they is nobody to run to. The whole hard work ends in losses. Quite good it's a nice way yo monetize a website, but not all webmasters wants to be under a foreign control, they prefer to streamline the activities of their website gradually and grow. OP seeking for support is excellent for a growing site.

You only present the potentially negative aspects of Adsense here. Looking at it this way, it's a wonder that anyone uses AdSense as a monetization method. The reality is a little different, and in any ad network, if you use illegitimate methods for clicks, there is definitely a risk of being banned. The fact that the ad network is the admin of your site is total nonsense because it is possible to set in detail what you want to be displayed in your ad spaces.
In the end, I said that Adsense is not the only option, there are many others, almost the same, some even with a better payment rate

Of course they're multiple advantages of Adsense, but that doesn't make my response nonsense, because a site admin may not change niche or content type that is against Google's policy without getting banned. For instance, google adsense may not accept a cryptocurrency blog and Op wants to switch his contents toward crypto, if he is working with adsense would he do that without getting banned and lose already generated funds? They may not be the general admin, but the adnetwork has influence over your site, and you must abide by their rules, you are no longer the sole proprietor of what happens in the site. In addition, monetizing adsense has to do with the tier of traffic that visits your site and their CPA. If OP's visitors are from tier3 what gain is it to choose google adsense or an adnetwork as sponsors. It will take ages for the site to yield him much profits. Webmasters with Tier1 traffics are advised to use google adsense as they have higher CPA on Ads published on the page. However, the site OP is running is not yet big like I said, and it's a factor to consider, before jumping into adnetworks regardless of the company whether Adsense or PropellerAds
1974  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in English in a Local Section on: June 28, 2023, 03:01:23 PM
Recently I came across a query where I suggested that We cannot post in the "All English" language in a local board or it is not recommended at least.

Yes, i know that if the posts are a mixture of English & local language, then it is fine. Even if some posts are being done in pure English, they are ok but if a person has a post history where he only insists to speak in English on a local board, what do the rules of bitcointalk say in this regard?

Bro! English is the language of the forum. Why would you ask such a question? It doesn't matter if it is a local board, what matters is that English is a the primary language of this forum. If your community is unable to answer any questions in English then it is the problem of your local community. Either use translation apps or continue by avoiding such questions in English or reply by using a translation AI. I do understand that not everyone is good with English in the Indian subcontinent. Take your own call and if possible work around with the the possible situation. BTW, globally accepted language is English with different accents.
 .

The local boards is meant for people who are not proficient in English to ask questions in their local dialect and get answered with same dialect. Hence, if a  local board like France writes in English what is the essence of posting it in the local board when the person can share it with wider range of people in the forum. As English is the language of the forum. The concept of writing in English in some local boards doesn't add up, as it may not fetch the poster better rapport with locals in the board. Utilizing the local dialect, helps members identify that you're a citizen of their country or acquainted with their language.
1975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My bitcoin journey mistakes and moral lesson on: June 28, 2023, 02:42:34 PM

That is another. The minute you start analysing stories like this you find points that don't hold water. You don't know how true the OP's story is and what his real intention was in writing it.

While reading his story and experience, it didn't sound new to me, I have read similar complaints multiple times in the forum and nothing can be done about it, since it all belongs to the past. The story never ends with a recent action, how much they've invested so far into bitcoin since they found the truth. Or is Op not yet sure that bitcoin is a good investment? Bitcoin aside, any investment should be taken without questioning and observe them to learn. Many people lose money everyday on different things believing that it'll pay off in future. I think Op should start investing now and not regret next time.
1976  Economy / Economics / Re: After Making Money In Bitcoin, How is Black Tax Affecting You Economically? on: June 28, 2023, 02:20:02 PM
The question is both simple and complex Smiley
Let's start with taxes in general. Taxes have to be paid! Whether we like it or not, a normal state does not print money, it collects TAXES. And these are our parents' pensions, medicine, and the social obligations of the state. More precisely - the ability to fulfill them and the level of their quality.
And here we come to the so-called "black taxes". It is because the state either does not receive enough taxes, or underpays them, or does not use them effectively - we, those who can earn, and those who have a responsibility to their close relatives, are forced to pay them.

Yeah, Black tax is mainly high on countries where the Government doesn't enforce task on Citizens like OP that made money through cryptocurrency. So, the bill keeps coming from left and right, if you notice his lamentation, you'll understand that giving to family members isn't the main problem. Most times friends and acquaintance who are having some financial downside also send out black taxes to people. And that's where it gets weird, a person just work and suffer at same time, no much changes or increase in income or savings. If Op invests the money he pays on black taxes he'd be seeing higher returns that it may no longer be a torn in his flesh to send money to his family. It never gets easier, but the movement continues till it gets better. I've decided to cut cost and focus on people who actually needs this financial help, regardless if they're my family or friend. Matthew 10:36; don't get it complicated.
1977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1.7 billion people are still Unbanked; chances for bitcoin on: June 27, 2023, 06:46:16 PM
It is true that bitcoin would open a lot of doors for these people who are far from the city and do not have access to the bank and therefore to bank accounts, but there is also something that can prevent them from being beneficial, and that is that in addition to being far from the city, some sectors may not have internet as expected, so the use of it would be complicated, what's more, there may be some who don't even know that this currency exists. Older people live more in rural areas, because young people go to the city to change their lives, therefore, that would be the other factor against, older people do not know and it is difficult for them to manage these things. But in the event that they do have all these factors, it is a good alternative, which could change their lives, as long as they manage to buy and have access to it, because as some comment, bitcoin is for everyone, it is free, and It would be great if it could be used by these people.

These unbanked people are considered uneducated according to some comments on this thread and I want to ask from observation, every uneducated parent has an educated child that helps them interpret new technology and operate their phones too. That means if the educated person in their midst gets to introduce them to bitcoin they'll trust the process and give it a try, as they have a reason why they don't want to operate with banks. Although it's rare for bitcoiners to outreach 1.7billion people, but a good percentage of them will love to hold bitcoin or receive funds through bitcoin, once they confirm the legitimacy. Even the elderly people that expect funds from their children, often time they have a learned person that lives with them to carry out different errands including funds and finance.
1978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats going on with Bitcoin Cash BCH? on: June 27, 2023, 09:48:07 AM
"Bitcoin Cash Price Jumps to One-Year High Fueled by Spiking Social Interest, Exchange Support"

It's the other way around. It is not the price that is pumped because of increased social interest. Social interest is increased because of price pump. You are the perfect proof (together with this conversation). We are talking about BCH because the price has pumped.. only because that ... not new usecase, adoption etc. And the price pumped up probably due to a pump and dump event combined with a short squeeze. It will end up in a dump because BCH is dead.

What makes you think that BCH is dead, it has been holding above $100 since 2022 and now in a pump that hits $200. Even I'm sad about selling my bch portfolio a while ago. I enjoyed holding BCH for sometimes, made profits through bch. I understand that lots of bitcoin users don't like BCH, but it's just obvious that so far bitcoin price goes up bch will follow the trend. The way it's moving BCH can hit $300 before it dumps again back to $150 thereabout.

The moment you catch a glimpse of what bitcoin is about by glancing on the contents in the links presented here, your success starts and with persistency and consistency you'll learn more that means extra success. And the knowledge can be acknowledged with the merits users send to your quality posts, an insignia that your contribution is valuable to readers. Don't forget to follow rules and don't run to artificial intelligence for help. When reading any crypto article, pen down some slogans you don't understand and ask it here in the forum or research if a thread already exists about it, go through the responses, to learn easily and advance your knowledge.

The website is an independent news and opinion website with loyal followers.

It is definitely necessary to better define your site and the approximate offer you expect

I never wanted to monetize this website and not participate in GoogleAds and Affiliate programs from the "ordinary world". Principally not.

What is wrong with Google Ads or Affiliate Programs even from the ordinary world? Why do you think it is desirable to avoid it? It is a completely legitimate way to do business.
