It is important to compare and contrast the benefits and risks of having multiple online wallets and make a decision on what makes sense to you considering your goals. But the risks are quite significant and having multiple wallets doesn’t change the risk that can occur. If having multiple wallets but no security measures, like using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication and keeping your wallet software and devices up to date with the latest security patches, things might still go wrong.
Anything that is stored online should not be considered safe. Don't keep more than a small amount of spendable money in an online wallet. Even an experienced dev like Luke Dashjr had all his coins stolen because the wallets were online.

~snip~ Three different countries hosting the The world cup won't be bad idea as the way lots of us think. The world cup tournament is growing and the 26 world cup will be accommodating many teams, this is one of the reasons it will be hosted by three countries to make it easy and Interesting.
I think the 2030 edition of the world cup should be hosted in South America, where everything started 100 years from that day. There are doing a joint proposal, I think it's four countries that would want to host it together. It would be amazing I think. I guess they're waiting to see how the 2026 edition plays out to see if it works fine.

~snip~ Set limitations and understand all the risk that you can possibly encounter during your gambling sessions.
With those knowledge and acceptance you can save your butt in losing a lot of.
Make sure to analyze and undertand before doing anything, remember that it's your money that in stake so better to make a good
analysis before playing.
Yeah, but at the end of the day if you actually run the analysis you'll realize that the expectation is that you're going to lose money. That's what the math says. So, you could treat it as entertainment and budget it accordingly. Or you could use the math to take risks up to a certain level. I mean, it's better to have a small risk than a huge one. Some people play games that are almost impossible to win and they don't even pay a lot. That's just poor risk analysis

~snip~ In the context of an open relationship it made sense, his first reaction was to laugh it off but the joke was not anything close to polite, it was a real low blow. Personally I see no problem with his extreme objection but a slap officially counts as violence which means it wasn't really anything that could have been planned or will be repeated this year in any way but yea it was nothing that made sense at the time so I first thought it was a joke of some kind. No side bet for extreme repeat exists that Ive seen sadly :p
At the end of the day the person that loses his cool and acts violently will always lose in the eyes of the world. It doesn't really matter if they're right or wrong. If they react violently then they lose already. Chris Rock actually ended up being the winner here because he kept his cool and carried on taking the high ground. He was about to reply something but didn't because he knew it was better not to react. Will Smith reacted so poorly that he lost his whole career in that event.

~snip~ I am not sure if the experiment would be beneficial - when one country host an event they are solely responsible to take the advantage of it How would this be helping 3 nations. It is beyond my understanding.
Well, the world cup is now a massive event, actually it's probably the largest sporting event in the world. I think it's fine to have more than one country hosting it. We've had it before in Korea-Japan 2002 and it worked fine. As the number of teams increase I think it makes sense to host it in multiple countries. Also in these weird times we're living in, this also adds the ability to move matches around if things go wrong in one country, instead of cancelling the whole thing.

~snip~ for No Limit City to be honest I very rarely at this provider. because I have to use a VPN to be able to play at an NLC provider even though I really don't like gambling using a VPN.
Yeah but if you win you have to withdraw to a real bank right?, and then you won't be able to provide those details matching the VPN country. Unless I'm missing something here.

~snip~ There is no house edge in sports betting, what do you mean by it should be lower than other types of gambling? How can sports betting have a house edge when the result isn't generated through an algorithm or a program but it depends on the game being played in reality by the teams or players?
OP deserved the wins because he probably had enough knowledge and had surely done some research before placing the bets. The accuracy was perfect for him to hit the jackpot, and that's because he knew what he is doing.
The odds for payout are calculated to maximize winnings for the house. For example, if a team has double the chances to win, then the house instead of paying you 2X, they will offer to pay 1.9X for example. That means that over a long period of time, they pay you less for the amount of risk you're taking. Imaging that you're doing a coin flip and you guess what side of the coin will be selected, if you guess it right, I pay you slightly less than your bet. Over the long term you'll run out of money, because your expected return is negative.

~snip~ I am very curious to see India in the next World Cup, I think it is a unique opportunity that they have, now that there are new quotas so that some countries can go and have the opportunity to be in a World Cup for the first time, that It fills an entire country with hope, which means that if it is probable that I can go to this World Cup, the truth is that I would like my country to finally go to a World Cup, I think that the feeling of listening to the country's anthem in a World Cup is a unique feeling, it makes many cry, I do want these teams that have never been to qualify.
I'm not sure they have the skills to qualify, but who knows, in the next world cup the standards will be lowered to allow more teams qualifying. Maybe it will be possible to see them, I'm not that convinced though. There are still other teams that might grab the extra spots before them. We'll have to wait and see how they perform in the field.

~snip~ I agree, it was 100% honest reaction and not something that was planned. I still think that it made no sense at all and to react like that to a joke is beyond bonkers. I used to love Will Smith so much, he used to be like an idol to me and he talked about how hard work was the most important thing.
I love his quote "if me and you go on a threadmill together, either you are getting off first, or I am dying", it shows that there is a higher limit to humans than humans care to accept, and I agreed with that a lot. After this incident, and people started talking about other things that he did, which highlighted all his bad sides, I realized he wasn't as good of a person as I thought he might be.
Well, people are complicated. And every humans has different parts of a human inside them, they are good and evil in the same person. There's no 100% good person, or 100% bad person, each person is capable of inflicting pain to other and to love others. Judging someone for one specific action is not really that wise, although it's a popular thing to do.

~snip~ Bitcoin price fluctuations is already part of a highly volatile market as you won’t expect for bitcoin to keep on surging high without even dumping its price at some point. So it’s never a new thing for us. But for beginners, I can see that this will be a threat for them and believe that bitcoin is not a potential investment. However, for smart investors on the other hand, this will bring them another opportunity to invest while the market opens a good entry.
The thing is that if people keep thinking about fiat price of Bitcoin then they will probably miss the whole point of Bitcoin, which is to have an independent economy. At the end of the day the purchasing power of Bitcoin will increase over the long term, so focusing on short time-scales noise is not really that relevant.

~snip~ No, CIA nor the NSA did not create the BTC network but there are several projects they are running concurrently under the direct supervision of these agencies and not only them but multiple agencies around the world are running them as well and there are multiple honeypots deployed as well and these are not huge surprises.
Well, the algorithm called SHA-2 was designed by the NSA. But that doesn't mean Bitcoin was created by the NSA.

~snip~ Most gamblers do not mean all gamblers and not many gamblers can win big money. But indeed some people are very lucky in playing gambling and can get big wins like @OP, which rarely happens to many people. Let's hope we get as lucky as @OP, who earns a lot of money.
But we also must realize that gambling like that has risks and will increase according to the capital we use. And when we place many bets, we are ready for the results later.
If you think about it in mathematical terms, at the end of the day it's a losing game. Imaging having a coin toss with say 40% chances of you winning and 60% of you losing. Would you play that? That's what the casinos do in the end, they try to complicate things but show them as apparently easy to win.

Bitcoin price has dropped below $20k from the recent high of $25k in mid February. Personally I have no problem with this fluctuation because compared to altcoins and taking the bear market into consideration, Bitcoin is still reliable and the volatility is pretty reasonable. For new potential investors, is this still a good time to invest in Bitcoin ? What do you think of the recent drop of Bitcoin price ? Please share your views.
Bitcoin is an appreciating asset in long term, with high volatility in the short term. You will see the price moving up and down since the entire world is buying and selling 24/7 for many different reasons. But, at the end of the day, every roughly 4 years the new batch of Bitcoins produced is halved, so that means there's less Bitcoins moving around for the people that want it. Even assuming the same amount of people want to buy, this means the price will go up. And the thing is that over time, there's always more and more people interested in becoming free of fiat. Eventually, the price will just continue to go up over a long period of time. So, it doesn't matter too much when you start, but for how long you've been accumulating(saving) your money in Bitcoin.

~snip~ I mean honestly it's a great cover up though isn't it? Then no one would question it...
Maybe they played both sides of the coin there, maybe not, we won't ever know for sure.
I do love a good conspiracy theory, seems like many have come true as of late, particularly the ones surrounding Covid-19
I personally don't see any shred of evidence that the CIA invented Bitcoin. On the other hand, most of what I've read from the initial days points to the fact that the CIA was probably not involved whatsoever in Bitcoin. It would be interesting if there was some kind of real evidence, even a tiny one, that points in that direction, but there's just nothing.

~snip~ This has to do with gambling because this was the topic here but I don't know why they suddenly insert trading here. Since we are already here, I will just go on with the flow. Gambling and trading are not the same in terms of luck. In gambling, we only have a tiny luck but in trading, we can increase our luck percentage depending on our skill.
Complicated analyses that are mostly seen in trading can possibly be applied in gambling if the one that we are playing is sports betting. If you think you are not lucky as the OP, maybe gambling for profit is not really for you? But you can always enjoy gambling only to get entertained.
Trading is basically gambling, if you just see the prices and want to buy and sell hoping to earn money. Companies like brokers earn their money from trader's fees just like casinos earn their money from gamblers. Investing is a different thing though, where you acquire an asset you think will appreciate over time.

~snip~ I don't think that incident with Will Smith and Chris Rock was planned, so I don't expect anything like that happening this year neither. Well, at least not organized by Academy but I doubt any actor would want to follow Smith's steps considering all the consequences (10 years ban from Oscars, movies delayed) that seriously affected his career.
It was absolutely not planned at all. Chris Rock was so surprised but he managed to keep it cool. He was actually about to say a comeback but wisely stopped and said nothing. The complete opposite to Will Smith who basically exploded and ruined the rest of his career in a few minutes where he lost complete control of himself.

~snip~ A very serious delusion. FIFA = corruption. You can change people as much as you like, but if the system is created as corrupt, then the result will be corruption. Wherever there are officials who dispose of the fruits of the labor of others, there is corruption. Football is a business, business should be run by businessmen and not corrupt officials. If you build a system that does not allow corruption, then you will not have it even if there are dishonest people inside it. And what we are seeing now shows precisely the systemic problem.
Well, it's not like organizations are created out of thin air. They are created by people. If you change people to others that are not corrupt, then they would make changes to the organization, making the whole thing less prone to corruption. It's a cycle, if you have corrupt people things start to degrade, and if you have great people, things start to improve.

I like the current situation better. However, you will definitely have to pay taxes later. I don't think there can be another solution.
Where it's legal tender, that is in En Salvador and Central African Republic, there is no capital gain tax when you sell Bitcoin. Also, some countries offer exemptions, I think it's in Austria or Germany that after 1 year you don't pay capital gains tax, and in Australia you have 50% discount after a year as well. And there are other examples of this.

I dislike with FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United because this edition have three co-hosts and cut off two national team slot participants left, no doubt with added participants from 32 become 48 national team and three co-hosts have 45 national team will get place for participating in FIFA World Cup 2026.
Still controversy with added participants team in FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United and have many matches later but most advantage with commercial is FIFA, they will earn much commission from broadcast and advertising with have many matches than usually still adopt 32 national team participants.
Maybe this is the start of a new era of multi-country-hosted world cups. Already we have 3 for the next one and there's talks about having 4 in the 2030 one in South America. Given that so many teams will be able to qualify, it's not crazy to qualify immediately more than one host. We'll have to see what happens.

~snip~ That's never happened to me and I don't know what to think of the whole story either, but it's very entertaining, even if it sounds a lot like a conspiracy theory. If you meet this man there again, tell him to register here in the forum and provide some evidence as to who created bitcoin. Either way, I've read a few times that some people believe bitcoin was created by the CIA. But nobody had proof of it and it wasn't really credible either. Anyway, thanks for sharing this story with us. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Gavin Andresen went to do a talk to the CIA to do a talk about Bitcoin in 2011: http://gavinandresen.ninja/eleven-years-ago-todayIt would be a bit weird if they created it and then they're asking someone else to explain what's it all about.
