1961  Other / Meta / Re: We can not discuss if 'ChipMixer is a honeypot or not' outside their own thread? on: December 10, 2022, 02:44:14 PM
Update: Thread seems to have been unlocked since I made this post here.
Maybe the Bot, TryNinja (Who else are here?) try something which will keep track of which topics are being locked and unlocked LOL

No one is trying to hide anything, and the moderator who handles the report only acted on the report (I personally reported it) with a link to an already existing discussion, and if he closed the thread, he did it completely logically, because it makes no sense to have the same discussion in two different boards. Someone from the administration (global mod or admin) obviously had a different opinion even after seeing this thread and canceled the previous decision.
Okay it proves, the topic was locked. But the reaction from OP was unnecessary. He is defiantly angry and don't like Chipmixer at all.
1962  Other / Meta / Re: The long waited Nickname has been given (The Sceptical Chymist) on: December 10, 2022, 02:37:16 PM
Just few days ago I was talking about The Skeptical Chemist on bitcointalk as a keyword and using it as example to make a point of how keywords works for search engines. I thought TP was asking for a Chemist not Chymist LOL. But I see it was a cleaver idea from former TP 😉

Quote from: Chymist Definition
Obsolete spelling of chemist.
As a non-native English speaker, I had no idea.
I think it's how you pronounce it.
Chemist will start with "K"
Chymist no doubt is starting with "Ch"
1963  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk forum vs OpenAI - ChatGPT on: December 10, 2022, 02:17:50 PM
Oh I just noticed the answer to your question "Who is BitcoinGirl.Club?" is different from the answer to "Who's LoyceV?"

Based on your username it perfectly deduced
1. That it could be a website
2. It could be a group
3. It could be a username
Fuck it, I am relaxed now LOL
I thought it will bring up my personal details (unlikely) 🤣
Well to be honest I was expecting it to bring some forum posts that I made and things like that because that's what they will get if they want to connect anything with the handle. It does not even have any clue of my original username.
Eventually I realize there are no intelligence. The program was written in some way to create words and sentences and make them meaningful before showing it to you. Additionally, they are scrapping texts from all websites the same as a search engine does and giving your pointless information. However, as a human you get a clue of the topic you are searching and able to create your own writing.

I don't think they're making any money off of this service, it's not like the rest of the OpenAI services where you have to pay money to get API credits. I haven't seen anything like that on the site otherwise they would have been marketing those figures by now.
Money are the data they are taking from you. Not everyone is creating account with throwaway details even if this is a email address.

Shit Bot was supper fast 🤣. I was you in mind while I was writing the response to OP suggesting to keep it longer than 1 second. Long ago I read somewhere that a safe zone is to have 1 second delay between queries.

Edit: Now TryNinja too LOL
1965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambing Halal or Haram According to Jewish Or Christian Faith? on: December 10, 2022, 01:27:45 PM
I know that this is very silly and religious question but I think that this should be Discussed.
According to me, As I am Muslim, Gambling is Haram and there are very reasons behind this. And also I do not much about another religions. But if someone has knowledge about that if Gambling is allowed or prohibited in Jewish or Christ Faith. And I think many people have many mind sets.
I do not want to hurt someone's feeling by talking about Religious Comments.

It is a very sensitive question you are asking in a place where most of the people have no knowledge about religion. And when you have a discussion with ignorant people you find yourself taking garbage knowledge and filling up your brain with those garbage. In most of the case, all of them are wrong information.

If you are really interested to know religious things then find a religious forum or reach out the religious leaders of the religion you follow. They will give you better knowledge and suggestions.

Someone messaged me about the prizes so here's a reminder of what we're still playing for:

1st 0.1
2nd 0.05
3rd 0.04
4th 0.03
5th 0.02
6th 0.01
7th 0.01
8th 0.01
9th 0.01
10th 0.01
Have some consolation prize for the members who are topping from the bottom, I will not miss it 😉

In the Brazil vs Croatia match, Brazil was not playing their game from the beginning of the match. No speedy attack, trying to spend all the time in the midfield, waiting for gap to get in, spending to much time in their own box, keeper was not even shooting the ball in the midfield. They played a very slow match. On the other hand, Croatia was controlling their game, and waiting for the extra time then penalty shoots. Although Brazil was able to create so many chances but Croatian keeper was the great wall of China.

The entire match was a good execution of Croatian plan and their keeper played a major role. A team like Brazil should not even take their game to extra time. It was a boring day for me yesterday, F**k Brazil.

Anyway, big match at the evening. It's hard to pick a winner between France and England.
1967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Scale up your CASINO business with COMMUNITY tournaments! on: December 08, 2022, 08:55:30 PM
I think this would be a good way for the casino to scale up, and fun for the players.
I see no business but waste of money for casinos. May be it will bring them some sign ups but all these sign ups will not make them money. The real gamblers do not look for peanuts to waste their time. They look for casinos who have high bankroll. It assures their big wins to get paid out without hassle.
1968  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk forum vs OpenAI - ChatGPT on: December 08, 2022, 08:34:31 PM
It's one of the what the fuck moments for me. These days AI are that much advanced? It seems they are scrapping all data from all web including deep and dark. It does not matter what you put where, they will take a snapshot. Scary as fuck.

but anyone with half a brain can come up with it on their own, so there's no point in reading it.
At the same time you can not deny that one can really get at least some idea of any topic they ask from it. You won't understand AI. Bot and AI functions differently 😉

To be honest, I didn't know who is the MicG. I think "El Duderino_" is the MicG. Because, I saw thread about changing username from [..removed for privacy..] to El duderino_. And El Duderino_ uses MicG as a pseudonym in his messages.
Damn you passed!
I can not remember you to be seen in Wall Observer though but whether it's from your memory or you spent a lot of time to search, you done a good job. My type of person only give information from memory. When something is too old to find then most of the time I fail to search it LOL.

By the way, do you mind to remove his full username from your post?
1970  Other / Meta / Re: What happen when two person report the same post on: December 08, 2022, 11:53:03 AM
I'm sure Flying Hellfish was the last mod added as the process that led to their employment was advertised. I guess that should be in 2019 or so, can't be sure of the date any more. I ain't sure mole0815 or Welsh got in after 2019. Well, sadly I don't know what became of the user. I haven't seen more of them online. I just checked their profile now and the dude was last active on July 13, 2021.
Flying Hellfish was or is moderator for longer than Welsh, I have no doubt about it. In my mind Welsh was the latest addition.

I made a small investigation with the elements I have at disposal (Staff section).

Flying Hellfish was mod before Welsh who appeared in ~July 2018 (like me, but I think I was appointed mod after Welsh).
Mole0815 appears in January 2020. And no new mods since.
But where I think there is confusion is that Welsh was first appointed mod for the Altcoins sections, then he replaced the former mod of the spanish section (and that must have been after Mole0815 was appointed).
So if we come from oldest to newest then:
[...there are many...], Flaying Hellfish, [...there are many...], Welsh or you, and Mole0815.

In any case Mole is the latest addition which can be told clearly. For some reason I had Welsh in mind as our latest mod.

OP is not an experienced internet user. My guess is, he is a very old person who is excited to use a computer or smartphone but completely unaware that the world gone far away from his age LOL

LOL, no! I think you are wrong about that. Look at his post history.

OP is actually a very experienced dev and Linux/FreeBSD sysadmin. He may be older than many of us because I personally don't know a single young developer who knows FreeBSD, but that doesn't mean he's any less of an experienced internet user. He probably knows the technical side of the internet better than most users here.  Smiley
He seems technically sound, I missed that, I just had a look on his post history. But technically sound does not mean he know the online guru and fake marketing system very well. It's a totally separate area. My assumption is from the reaction and fear OP is showing in the thread. Someone who is regularly receiving extortion emails, offer emails like making you rich, emails from hot girls in craigslist, attention emails that your exchange is hacked, emails to receive free gifts and many more spams, will never react such way.
1972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 08, 2022, 11:39:53 AM
Morocco vs Portugal: May be the world cup for Morocco will come to an end. Portugal will not be another Spain. They will play the similar game like they did yesterday against Switzerland.
Most likely, Morocco will park once again their bus in front of their goal.  Cheesy
In general, Morocco has a great defensive, they have conceded only one goal against Canada in group stage (while Morocco was still winning that game) and I don't expect it will be easy for Portugal to score.

The best chance for Portugal is to score a goal in the first half. If not, Morocco is likely to speculate for a penalty shootout once again.
And Morocco can still be dangerous four counterattacks. A long-lasting 0-0 will make it very difficult for Portugal, similar as against Spain.
Their keeper is one of the best so far. I can't believe he saved 3 constitutive penalty shots. In penalty it's basically a gambling for both shooter and keeper but the Moroccan keeper made it an art of being a great wall.

Portugal are better than Spain in attack. One of the main reason for Spain to finish their last match with 0 - 0 was their defensive mindset. The game Portugal played against Switzerland, I don't think they will change it against Morocco.

We underestimate the Moroccon side but half of their players are playing in Premier League,Bundesliga and even in PSG where plays Hakimi which also played for Real Madrid and was always a key man for the games played.
They never had the pressure because of being underdog. But since they are in quarters now, they will feel pressure. Time to see how they handle it.
1973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much initial startup to Start Cryptocurrency Casino? on: December 07, 2022, 05:39:54 PM
I think that 100k dollars initial capital would be enough to satrt a better casino. Cause we have to promote and also do other such promotions.
So what are your thoughts?
$100k for marketing and promotions is fine. May be for the next 6 months but for a Casino the most important thing that they need is to have enough Bankroll. There are crazy people who will join your casino and put thousands of dollars. Most of the time they will not win but if they win big then you need enough backup money to pay them. I can not put a number but I will say something over $1M. The higher the better.

the 100k initial capital OP is saying is probably just putting a casino up and running. getting it to be successful is the most challenging for it needs more funds.
Let's say $2k weekly budget for bitcointalk signature campaign. That's $8k per month. With $100k it's only one years budget. How about others. The main source of traffic are the advertising networks where you will need to spend a lot of money. Affiliates will bring your clients but without massive advertising from the company itself, affiliates will not show interest too.
1974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 07, 2022, 05:29:42 PM
I think the fruits of this Enrique experiment we are going to see no sooner than the other World Cup although I hope even in the Euro they will be a great show and not like this one.
I don't feel any emotion for them as always a boring team. But Germany should have qualified. They are 100 times better than Spain. It's their bad luck that even after playing such a good match in the last group match, they have to leave without anything from the group stage.

Let's look at the future matches.
Croatia vs Brazil: Easy win for Brazil.
Netherlands vs Argentina: Argentina will have real test in the match. But in case if they win then it will be a great match between Brazil and Argentina in the semi.

Morocco vs Portugal: May be the world cup for Morocco will come to an end. Portugal will not be another Spain. They will play the similar game like they did yesterday against Switzerland.
England vs France: This will be my match to watch. No idea who will win.

I would like to thank them (@satoshi @theymos @admin @sirius @PowerGlove @LoyceV @Welsh @EFS @hilariousandco @mprep @Ratimov @eaLiTy @actmyname @GazetaBitcoin @TryNinja @fillippone @icopress @dannybrown @Kalemder @Yatsan @NotATether ) for their contribution to the forum, their efforts and being a part of the history of bitcointalk.
It seems I have not made any impact at all, you laterally kicked me out with others who were not mentioned here. For your punishment, no merit from me 😂

I couldn't even make an estimated guess on merit deployment Grin
How could you forget the most impactful event of the forum history 😉

Thanks to my weak memory, I can never pass this test.

you can pass this test by searching mate.
If anyone search for the result then they are always newbie. Someone with even spending 6+ months will be knowing a lot of things about the forum.

Let me see how well you know the community.
Who is MicG?

Find it 😉
1976  Other / Meta / Re: *END* Post history review offer on: December 07, 2022, 04:08:39 PM
If you are looking to find out the thread that he started making clear his rules for the post history for merits then it's here and after some time it was locked by him.He started the thread to tell memeber they can PM him for post history review but you see how the situation have gone bad because he is out of smerits now.
Thanks to bring it for me.
The thread of course looks like that he is still offering the review (Current title: Rules for my post history review offer to the community). None of these merit hunter read anything else than read the OP and go for it. Changing the title of the thread will do the work 99%.

Well they should give sources more smerits when they ask for it, no harm in that. If a source misuses their smerits it would become known and they can either remove them or give them less.
And if they are not giving you more maybe it's because they don't like the way you merit people, I'm not them, so can't say for sure which is it.
Would you mind signing an old bitcoin address please. An address posted before August 2018 will help.
1977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's FIFA World Cup 22 Prediction Pool Discussion thread on: December 07, 2022, 02:43:40 PM
Considering that the Spanish media laughed so much at the German team for their elimination in the group stage, their own exit happened pretty quickly too. Out in the round of 16. Not their best performance, tbh haha.
Spanish team deserves to be kicked out. They are boring. When you are stronger in pen and paper including real strength in the ground, you play football, you attack and take advantage. The way Spain played yesterday it felt like Morocco was a team with the same strength as them. All the time they were busy controlling the mid field and defense. The attacks were weak. At some point they were waiting for the extra time and in the extra time they were waiting for penalty shootout. They were basically following the same strategy as Morocco.
1978  Other / Meta / Re: *END* Post history review offer on: December 07, 2022, 02:29:07 PM
Calm down brother.
I'm calm as a mizzafizzin' cucumber.  But I'll tell ya, you wouldn't believe how many new requests I get even after that other thread in Meta has been locked for a while.  Members keep saying they came across it and are requesting reviews which I'm just unable to keep up with, and it's frustrating.
I could not find the thread, I guess my type of guys are too ignorant to find archives. Consider to update the thread title, update the OP of the thread too. Some people will still try to take their chance but in that case just ignore the PMs. You may feel you are being rude but sometimes it helps to ignore unwanted stress.
1979  Other / Meta / Re: *END* Post history review offer on: December 07, 2022, 01:33:50 PM
I've simply had too many requests and too few sMerits.  I seriously considered quitting the merit source position as a FUCK YOU to Theymos, but that would just be an emotional reaction which ultimately wouldn't help the forum.  But I'd still like to state it, and I think I just did.
I see you are doing everything to get the attention of the main man but he is doing well to ignoring everything that are coming from you LOL

Quote
I'll leave this thread open for a few hours if anyone wants to comment, but I'm not going to be answering questions about whether individual members are going to still have their posts reviewed, because as of right now I have to go back and check all my PMs.
Calm down brother. You do not need to take all responsibility on your shoulder. You can just close the merit thread and update the status. People will start realizing it's closed and will not PM you. I don't receive many emails requesting for post review. I am sure a lot of others too don't receive PMs.

Duplicate reports for all posts reported 2 or more times or do the moderators also check the reason for reporting? If I report a post for one reason, but then I realize it's wrong or might not be good enough to get the post deleted, I might find a second rule violation why the post could be deleted. If I report that post a second time, but explaining this other reason and maybe mentioning why the first report isn't sufficient, will my report still be marked as bad?
I think let's not put too much attention to a bad or good reports. If you are like me then I don't even care to report. I like my time here. But if you are like some huge reporters then the bad reports will be just a drop of the ocean.
