If we hit a block in the next day we're still fairly on schedule?
Dunno what "schedule" is with respect to mining, but we're behind in our luck, if that's what you're asking. Maybe try and convince CG to plant more tomatoes.

I will correct my dinner menu to mention the cherry tomato salad  using   avocado oil with a touch of salt , sage and fresh basil.

Maybe this will do the trick. Grin

New Jersey is to have a 1 week heat wave  started today so I will get to see how well the gear stands up to the heat.

There are a limited number of systems available at https://blackbox.cat/products/blackbox-x16-bcu1525-fpga-system-with-16x-xilinx-bcu1525-fgpas-august-batch

kjs sent me his 16 card mobo for nvidia 106 cards a few months ago .  it was a very nice piece of gear. as we all know gpus are hurting so the upgrade to

fpga's makes perfect sense

kjs sent me his test unit and I did some you tube videos and the gear was pretty much perfect gear.

kjs supplied an early model 16 nvidia card unit to me in march of 2018  as well all know the 106 is not super kind on power use but it was very stable gear.

I have some decent you tube videos on the older model

Yeah, not at all surprised by ZCash there.  As long as they have a nice fat 20% founders reward on every single block they aren't going to give a rat's ass about how those blocks are mined. :p

well the coin was once 866 usd  it is now 185 usd.

I can't help but think they believe price will go higher this way.

-snip-

I'd say those are two weak arguments because they are purely speculation without evidence. On the other hand, i have two counter-arguments that are all for bitcoin rising in value again.

1. Bitcoin is ever-improving. Scalability is being addressed, mass adoption rates are growing, and people are becoming more aware of avoiding scams.
2. Cryptocurrencies add value to services. They cut out the middleman and offer a solution for the efficient transfer of value.

Have you considered that maybe that is why "everyone" (your words) is expecting BTC to break records and get to new crazy highs? Smiley

No, those arguments are not just "speculation," at least not the first one about manipulation to get to the 20K level.  Just Google the Tether/Bitfinex story and go the paper put out by the professor in Texas.  Not his first paper about financial markets and manipulation, and qualified peers take his work seriously.  I don't think Bitcoin hits 20K this year.  I don't think it will hit "crazy new highs" this year either.

And if I am right about that, it puts a damper on most every other alt-coin as well.

Abstract
This paper investigates whether Tether, a digital currency pegged to U.S. dollars, influences Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency prices during the recent boom. Using algorithms to analyze the blockchain data, we find that purchases with Tether are timed following market downturns and result in sizable increases in Bitcoin prices. Less than 1% of hours with such heavy Tether transactions are associated with 50% of the meteoric rise in Bitcoin and 64% of other top cryptocurrencies. The flow clusters below round prices, induces asymmetric auto-correlations in Bitcoin, and suggests incomplete Tether backing before month-ends. These patterns cannot be explained by investor demand proxies but are most consistent with the supply-based hypothesis where Tether is used to provide price support and manipulate cryptocurrency prices.

Didn't realize there were actually academic articles analyzing bitcoin trading. That being said, I don't know how to feel about this. It seems like a giant FUD attempt that doesn't take into consideration the potential of crypto currencies to really change the world.
Thats no fud thats the truth, similar situation is happening now because of low volume-few people open short/long position with x50 leverage on bitmex with for example 500 btc, then that same group of people buy/sell 1-3k btc on bitfinex for example pushing the price up/down where they need it to go(ussualy arround 200-300$ in one dirrection)Even as they are losing money trading on bitfinex x50 leverage on bittmex is making them more $ then they are spending. You can check all of this on charts where you can see 1-3k btc orders are filled in seconds without any reason even when TA is signaling otherwise

yeah  it is an issue.  kind of like 3  or 4 dow jones indexes delinked on different exchanges.

unless  exchanges coordinate better these moves won't stop.

tighter margins  10 to 1  vs 50 to 1  by every exchange would cut it back a lot.

or even only 5 to 1 margins.  these restrictions have been done on stock exchanges at times and may be needed to be done with crypto coins.

at the moment. i am mostly in cash.

I am using eth pill for my 1080ti's

19733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: why do people mine crap coins? on: June 27, 2018, 03:38:09 AM
To illustrate I mined 12000 rvn coins.

I sold 7000 of them.  That sale turned a profit over power spent so much so that I now have 5000 free rvn coins and about a 50 usd profit.

So even if the coin zeros out I made 50 usd no matter what.

I listed the 5000 rvn at really high prices.

So if I catch a spike they sell for 1000 usd.

So certain 50 usd profit

Possible 1000

I did this with six other coins.

Zero proof it works.
No demos

No screenshots.

I simply ask the following proof of concept.

What can you show us?

Same Here Phill IS the most Trustworthy GUY on this entire board.  When you get one working Send one to him to test and run.  When Phil verifyies that it's true and working You WILL have more orders then you will know what to do with.  Other then doing that, having a discord and videos is all fu$king bullshit.  No one including me cares about that crap.

I offered to help them a while back.
I have been through enough grief on projects like this that I have a lot of concerns.

I also know builders
Of gear are always slow to launch.

I waited until the 26th which is 11 days past mid month.

No preorder was taken so far.

This means  op missed a date

My post was simply a reality check.

see below you mention pre orders mid june or late june

Looks interesting, do you have an aprox. order/ship date or not yet?

Mid to Late June for all orders and information. First batch ship a few weeks after.

where is the video?

David,

This is great!  Thank you for sharing your information with all of us.  I am really excited to see you develop this product and if it all looks as attractive as it does now whenever pre-ordering comes online then I'll be interested in possibly 10+ depending on performance characteristics as this is tested and developed further.

I guess the only question I have at this point is regarding the tangibility of reporting.  You said you wouldn't want to release some shoddy looking video but do you plan to release at least 'some' video that is of a reasonable quality?

Other than that, I would just like to share this little write up on M.2 slot tech.  50-650% data transfer boost is really impressive  https://www.howtogeek.com/320421/what-is-the-m.2-expansion-slot/

I’m sure we can produce a video. I’ll never understand why so many people like to watch videos online, but ok Smiley

I am reading this now

I think this may be the one

  I still don't see a product

I don't see  a way to order

I don't see the boost it gives.

I wonder if those 300,000 GPUs that were supposedly returned to Nvidia from somewhere in Asia were all mining specific GPUs? That could mean that Nvidia has to eat a significant loss on them if they can't sell them to gamers.... hmmm

that is my take. I did watch ohgoditisagirl on you tube she mentioned some cards have a hidden hdmi port.

so with a different plate it could be okay.

i wonder if they will sell them.

Well, what they are telling media outlets is that ther new model's release is pushed back to later this year because of the overage....

yeah I heard that.
19737  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [80PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 26, 2018, 03:25:39 AM
Understood. However when a group of miners hop on that doubles plus our hashrate and all is good us regular peeps don't know how long they are going to hang around...
Why does it matter?
Lets pretend you would earn 0.11BTC per month...
How do you imagine your life changing if you get:
30 payments of 0.00366667
or
15 payments of 0.00733334
or
1 payment of 0.11

0.11=0.11
Stability allows for recurring expectation of payment timing. That is all. I am not questioning size of payout. But there is a difference in getting X amount in xdays and X amount in x+?days. That's all. Not questioning the payout integrity. Sorry, this may be my OCD kicking in but I like stability for planning purposes.

well there is zero stability in that here.

we could do back to back 900% blocks    which would be 2 blocks vs 18 blocks

or we could do   back to back to belly 33% blocks  which would be 3 vs 1 block.

if you want stable f2pool is what you want.
19738  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [80PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 26, 2018, 03:18:23 AM
If you submit 253874951744 shares out of 25387495174395, then you get paid for 253874951744 shares out of 25387495174395 and it doesn't matter if the other 25133620222651 shares come from 1 miner, 1 farm, 100 miners, 100 farms, or 100000 USB sticks.
Understood. Thanks

complex as to guessing if they should be here and are helpful or harmful, but I rather have them around.

Did they help  us when they were at 200ph  not really as the luck they had was so so.

But luck is like that..

At cpgenie .

they had so so luck when they where at 200 ph.

my number dropped from 0.0400 btc to 0.0076 btc.   And I don think they hit enough blocks to make up for the drop.

not saying that is bad just saying that is what happened.

now if the had whaled  and drop us from 105% to 95% I would say cool I scored.

but all pools have this issue.  the only pools  that my t1's can mine at  with pps is f2pool and I think they charge 4% or 3%.

As for what I want the pool % to be 1% to 2% would be 400ph to 800ph  that works for me.

...Why the solo pool for the sticks? isn't finding a block with 88Gh pretty improbable? (Not arguing, just asking)...
Because you're looking at maybe $3-4 a year in earnings (profit is less than that), so your better bet is to gamble and maybe get ultra lucky (in theory, every hash has an equal chance of being a block solver).

this and the v9  does 3th vs 88gh for the sticks.

so he makes a steady amount with the v9  maybe 125 in a year after power cost.

and if he gets lucky with the sticks he does amazing.
