Mining will always be profitable. if you have near the 600 Mhash...so, may be you wil be glad to see day`s earning in 6USD...at least the next 6-8 days... but if you have only 300... just think about long term - 15-30 days...

How is that an 'attack'? Isn't it basically just someone mining a lot of coins?
it`s an attack against all honest miners!

Just look at the graph - network total changes every morning at europe time... increase is about of 20%... if this continues we will get the 60% estimated difficulty every time... this is so bad... Botnet attaks the bitcoin net! What can we do? read this - http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/jun/22/lulzsec-rogue-suspected-of-bitcoin-hackSome of the most experienced members of the Anonymous and LulzSec hacker collectives are believed to have had "botnets" – hijacked networks of PCs – of more than 100,000 compromised computers.

So, umm, what exactly are the requirements of our new passwords?
For example, something like "mic396pip$!" is apparently not strong enough for Mt Gox. What's the deal?
use passgenerator soft...20-digit pass will fit to... something like a ........GMqojrOcjjCFeqhCNwzM......

So Magical Tux, Are you ever going to answer, what are MtGox's plans for those of us who got bitcoins stolen in the days preceding the sell off? You know, those if us that have been telling you since before the compromise was made public. It should be easy to validate our claims by comparing ip address history, as I have only logged in to your site from home, work and my phone (verizon)
You know their answer very well - correct login/pass, so they are not responce for this, It`s a very sad story...

You guys are late to the party. MtGox's whole user database was compromised.
Since the database has been leaked I will prove it to you: steve3, you are the customer #52107 Your password hash: !$1$7u9tG3ex$KkKOgkgdJTknIARmG3SBS1
The password has been hashed with FreeBSD salted MD5. It is a tough cookie but not unbreakable. The salting prevents time-memory trade off (Rainbow Tables), so a dedicated cracker should crack every each one of them individually. As long as your password is complex and long enough, it will resist cracking by bruteforcing.
Interestingly it seems that your account steve3 were locked back then. Cheers,
I`m not late, my coins were stolen at 16-40 14/06/2011

CSRF is a fake...In my opinion... I think in that way exchange covers their own impotance to prevent attacks... I didn`t use any site at 16-40 14/06/2011 during hard DDoS attack, but my 13.4 BTC were successfully stolen... So Mark says the same things everytime: "transaction was made from your account with the correct login/password, we are not responce for this" Of course with correct!!! How It could be with incorrect?
|
|
|
mtgox.com - epic fail - one by one...hug and cry You can keep my stolen 13.4BTC for doing reliable protection... PS It was a joke...
|

No, they logged in on users account using the correct login and password. We have logs showing the loggin succeed on first try.
Oh, that's good news. Thanks for keeping your site secure and staying on top of everything. You are not alone, I`m with you too... The same case - correct login/password... No exchange responsibility - no 13.4BTC Such a nice mtgox.com exchange PS MagicalTuxWell Mark, I`d like to know from which IP was made 13.4BTC transaction to fraudster wallet... Is this a open information for me?

Trust me, if we had a problem in Mt.Gox and it was actively exploited, we'd have way more than a dozen compromised accounts. are you saying that no changes were made to the site in the past 24 hours to protect against a csrf? if it wasn't broken, would you have any explanation for this claim that a hole had been fixed? http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=18709.msg235994#msg235994There was indeed a CSRF vulnerability in the "change email" and "send funds" features, however we verified the logs of the webserver and could confirm neither were ever exploited, except by the people who discovered it. Both are now fixed. You know about my case very well MARK - I`m still waiting for my stolen 13.4 BTC...

Done, read your pm

there's no way they woudn't be hashing, its a entusiast built site, not a corporation one...

Hi, Please direct issues regarding security (such as those) to admin@mtgox.comWe will enforce more secure passwords on Mt.Gox (refuse simple ones) and add the ability to set a withdraw password. Mark Well, Mark... Just tell us first what kind of "marked bitcoins" you mentioned (this is the part of your answer to my postbox at anatoliy-pravo@net.lg.ua about my stolen 13.4 btc during DDoS at 06/14/11 16:20): We have however marked your 13.4 bitcoins and will be tracking those over the network. If someone deposits those funds on Mt.Gox, we will know immediatly. Thanks, Mark
Satoshi will be suprised Do you cherish your reputation? It seems to be not...I`ll tell my friends, they`ll tell other...Lets see how long mtgox.com will go on... I`m going to make a new more interesting topic about this nice exchange...

(Moved from the tech support forum...)
My motherboard of choice for mining (ASRock 870 extreme 3) can't sustain the heat of two 5970 (~90°C).
I fried two of these already (actually, the PCIe-related capacitors somehow melt). I thought I had been unlucky with the first one, but apparently it's a weak point of the model (which is advertised for its durable capacitors, oh the irony).
Do you have a recommendation of a reliable, dual PCIe x16 motherboard?
May be MSI 790FX-GD70 Winki Edition will fit to? I have got MSI 790FX-GD70 Winki Edition / ASUS M4A79T Deluxe, the cards are inserted in the distant slots + PCI-E x16 riser - for the third card...
