1981  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price with a 4 year cycle? on: June 10, 2022, 08:27:16 AM
I experienced twice the trend, namely in 2014 and 2018, if in 2022 it repeats again then I think it will be difficult Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies can rise again, I hope Bitcoin is not dropped significantly like the previous 4 years, now the market has dropped more than 50%, and I hope Can go up again to $ 40K or $ 50k, making us optimistic that the future of cryptocurrencies is still brilliant.
Bitcoin all-time-high was $69000, now at $30000, the fall is even more than 50% already, that is even for bitcoin, altcoins had fallen more than 70% or 80% or more. As bitcoin had fallen like 2x like you daid, most altcoins has fallen over 5x or more. The bear market is this year just like 2018, nothing is changing that, there is more bear market coming.

Final capitulation might be around 85% from last all time high and it could go down as low as the previous all time high of $19k in 2017. So that is a big fall, nevertheless this kind of drop is needed to sort of shake the market again and then grow as big as its previous runs in the next bull run. So yeah, nothing has change, maybe just the numbers or how much it will grow in 2024-2025.
1982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 10, 2022, 07:51:14 AM
I see Kobe on him and he really improve thru this season. Their duo together with brown really improve Celtics and their actions not to trade their young cores is really give them good result today and for sure they have huge chance to take this season out on GSW and the game 4 will be another exciting chapter to see. But also knowing Warriors they became more better team once they are defeated and it just Wiggins and Klay is not consistent today and Curry only make them alive this game maybe in next game they are in full revenge mode that's why we can provably see more exciting head to head match between Celtics.
You too?  Wink
He is not that far anymore, as I said in my previous posts, this kid just needs to stay confident with his game. Sometimes, he loses it and that's why the team is being dragged by it. Thankfully, many players on the Celtics team know how to step up their game and the leadership of Marcus Smart might have something to contribute to that.
Even though he had a bad Game 1 and 2 on the offensive side, he might get that MVP if the Celtics will be able to snatch this from the former champions. Because he didn't stop at just scoring, he did assists and rebounds to help.

I guess we have been praising him and even compare him to Kobe in this thread so I'm not surprised. And yes, it will be an accomplishment for him at this young age to win the NBA trophy and then the Finals MVP. He has improved in defense as well. He lock down Durant in the first round, we haven't seen Durant having difficulty to execute his jump shots and Tatum was part of that big defensive plays and swept the Nets.
1983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will algorithmic stablecoins have a future? on: June 10, 2022, 06:42:53 AM
Terra has already tainted 'algorithmic' stable coins, so I doubt that it will have a future. Nevertheless projects can start with this new take on this and then see how it goes. Just maybe a few tweaks here and there and we it might evolved to a new trend in the market. So let's give hope for them, if another project fails, then it could really be the end and it will not work and really be unstable. And they should really be back 1:1 by fiat, a collateral, to ensure it will not de-pegged.
1984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Trends For 2022 on: June 10, 2022, 06:08:39 AM
We love what an online casinos can offer and indeed they are making a lot of improvements in this industry. And they took advantage of the pandemic, pushing for more games, more tables, and the our favorite, slot games. So the statistics might be true to some degree, but with big land base casinos opening this half of the year, this numbers might change at the end of the year. Because gamblers might be longing for the traditional casinos with live music, the sound of a bonus in a slot machines and then the interaction with people you know.
1985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Length of Time Before You Learn All These Gambling Terms Or Jargons on: June 10, 2022, 12:49:17 AM
To be honest, for an average gamblers that are not inclined to technology, maybe this terms are not important. But let say you are s smart gambler and the first time you wanted to try online gambling, then you will want to know how fair they are. So you will do and research it yourself, read their terms and conditions and maybe see this one or two terms under. And with that, it might be different for every individuals. Maybe in just one try and user experience they will have the grasp of it. But for the majority maybe it will take sometime to be familiarized with these jargons.
1986  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holding my horses for now on: June 09, 2022, 11:06:21 AM
How do you guys know if this is a good level to buy or not? The answer is you don't so it's better to be involved, even if it's not the bottom yet, then not be involved at all and miss the opportunity.

No one knows, everyone has his/her own wild and educated guesses. So It's better to just buy if the price is below $30k'ish in my opinion. So could be the one of the easiest buying opportunity to all of us.

Also, nobody knows where the price is going to be, especially people who give their predictions in the media.
I'll just give you guys a few predictions from early 2018 and you can decide if these guys are some financial gurus or full of shit taking numbers out of thin air.
Tim draper $250k by 2022
Ronnie Moas $28k peak in 2018
Fran Strajnar $200k in 2019
Tom Lee $91k by March 2020
Michael Novogratz $50k in 2018
Spencer Bogart $50k in 2018
Trace Mayer $27k in 2018

Tim Draper's prediction though seems to be exaggerate in my opinion. But we under stand where he is coming from.  Same with Michael Novogratz, and it's funny that those predictions are in 2018 majority, wherein we suffered a huge downward trend.
1987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC domination meets resistance so will we have another altcoin season on: June 09, 2022, 09:43:35 AM
I thought that bitcoin and altcoin market is correlated.

if we go on this premise, then if bitcoin goes down, majority of the altcoins will also decrease? And as you have said, we are still in the bear market so crypto is going to bled.

And as far as bitcoin's dominance, not sure if this is also a good indicator, just saying.
1988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 09, 2022, 09:11:37 AM
For me the fight will be interesting, because obviously Crawford is very anxious for it to happen, regardless of Crawford's previous fights I think he is preparing a lot for this one, but I would not underestimate Spence, I think this fighter is something of an analyst and he may figure it out Crawford's intention quickly, if it were Spence I would say that Crawford would seek to have a quick knockout so that he does not prolong it, and I think he is preparing for it, however the boxers who are preparing to give possible knockouts have to take into account that that's like a turbo, if they don't achieve it quickly then they would be very tired and would have to resist a lot, then it could be something dangerous.

It's too obvious that both boxers are fully preparing for this match and will put all of their effort to win. It's a fight that everyone is waiting for and in fact, these 2  boxers have no choice but to fight each other since it's about title unification. I have noticed that Crawford talks too much recently and it's not just about between him and Spence but also to other boxer like Jemmel Charlo. I don't understand why all of a sudden Crawford becomes like that and full of confidence.

Spence is currently dangerous at the point of his career. Crawford on the other hand was seen slowing down in his previous match. Facing Spence, that slow performance by Crawford should not happen again, or else, he will kiss the canvass.

I think he just wanted to get a good fight. When he was still with Top Rank, he was criticized for picking up easy opponents. Now that he is a free agent, he wants everyone from 147-154 including Charlo. So he won't simply back down from Spence as well.

Not sure how you find Crawford slowing down when he knock out a great fighter in Shawn Porter when Spence was not able to do that. Heck he went in war with Porter while Crawford dominated him.
1989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 09, 2022, 08:33:04 AM
Well I should have listen to my guts in this game, I have a feeling that the Celtics are going to win, but I wanted to see the Warriors as well as I'm a fan.

Nevertheless, we still have a lot of incoming games, I don't think that the Celtics jobs is done here. They have to win the next game. And that is very important because they will have a commanding lead by them. But I will still go with the Warriors in game 4, their backs is on the wall and they should win that to stay away from a 3-1 deficit.
1990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 09, 2022, 08:03:05 AM
The Game 3 and Game 4 are going to be very critical for both teams. If one of these teams manage to win two times in a row, I won't be expecting the other team to make a comeback in the series anymore. These games are this much important to me because of that. Celtics really have a huge advantage as they have the home court advantage indeed. However I can't trust them fully for both games. I'm confident about one of the games but it's not the same for the other. I would love to see them winning both games actually.

Yeah, the results of these games will be very important for both teams. In the meantime, the Celtics are clearly dominating in Game 3. As the guys said above, Jaylen Brown had a great performance in the first quarter, while the Warriors clearly have offensive and defensive problems. So the Celtics are clearly determined to win this time, although they still have two more quarters to play, and it means that the Warriors still have time to make a comeback.

Yeah, and it seems that the Warriors are in the fence right now, they've are caught again napping in defense in the first quarter and they don't have enough fire power to cover in a the quarter where they are good at, 3rd.

So now this will be a big blow to the Warriors in the finals, next to Lebron winning against them after a huge 3-1 lead. The Celtics are the underdog in this series and no one see that they are going to the lead right now. It might be over for the Warriors if they lost again in game 4.
1991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: June 08, 2022, 03:16:16 AM
Game 2 was a very decent one for Warriors undoubtedly. They just crushed Celtics by a big point difference and something went really wrong with Celtics defense in this game. It wasn't solid as it was in the first game. It looks like Warriors found a good solution for this and destroyed them literally. For Game 3, I'm not sure about the result. It is very hard to predict now as maybe Warriors would catch Celtics by surprise in away court like Celtics did to them in Game 1. Or maybe Celtics will have their revenge on them. In any case, I believe that it will end up by a little gap.
We can expect a very close game-scoring started the game 3. I was supposed to think about the homecourt advantage that put Celtics has a huge odds of winning. But yes, we can't really underestimate these small players (GSW) as they are good in 3 points shooting that could outplay Celtics as they did in Game 2. Poole, Cury, Thompson - these guys have scoring gameplay that gives surprise to the Celtic's big players.

There really isn't anything as home court in this playoffs, If the Celtics can take game 1 away from Boston, so there is also every possibility of Warriors winning either game 3 or 4, perhaps both.

I'd be leaning towards the Warriors for game 3, most especially because of their offense, they've really got so many special players and can take the game away from you, just in a split second.

And the series against the Bucks and the Heat, Boston lost some home games too, so yeah, it might be good to play at home but definitely can't  be seen as a sure win, sort of.

If Warriors will have a solid offensive contribution from Steph again, and then Poole and Klay added to the picture as well, it's going to be very hard for Celtics unless their trio of Tatum, Smart and Brown produce similar numbers (they are focus on defense). So I'm also thinking of betting for the Warriors as the underdog in game 3.
1992  Economy / Speculation / Re: Between $24K and $27K on: June 08, 2022, 02:27:31 AM
No one among us wants to see bitcoin at these prices but how often we have seen the market surprises us.

The range of 24-27K is not out of the question, even though bitcoin has gone above 30K once again. I feel that in normal circumstances bitcoin should move up from these ranges but in case of any bad news (Like a prolonged war between Ukraine and Russia, bitcoin can again test these 20ish levels.
There are some people who see 38-41k period and see the 28k-31k period as the same and worry that the price could go down because of this. I believe that it will not be like that and I believe that we are going to end up with a high price, but unfortunately not everyone feels the same way.

I know that we are going to go up, and feel like it is just about time, we could reach to like 40k+ at least within the next 3 months give or take, and that is a good return if you invest right now. Hopefully people will not be too late and everyone joins in before it goes up too much and they miss out. In the end, people who take the risk and invest when its low, will be the ones who will profit when it's high.

I'm not sure about the bounce to $40,000 in the next 3 months mate, I think that is short amount of time to really see the price rally from <$30,000 currently to highs of $40,000. It's simply hard assuming that we are in a bear market already.

Yes, it's a risky investment right now, but we should be aiming for a long term in this bear market. Try to accumulate as many as you can. I know it's going to be tough mentally, but this what separates a wise investors to newbies. Bear market is the right time to re-invest.

Of course, every crypto investment is risky, but bitcoin though is relatively not like that as compare to let's say altcoin markets.

Just like what we've seen in the last 24 hours, the price suddenly went down below $30k again after almost hitting $32k. But then again, we've made a bounce and recovery to $31k. So it's very volatile and the best thing so that we should not worry about this fluctuations is to HODL.
1993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: June 08, 2022, 01:56:28 AM
So Inoue has really improved a lot from their last fight. The punch are very heavy and it has intent to knock out anyone in its path. So Inoue has almost clean the division, maybe Butler or Casimero but I don't think this 2 has a chance against the Monster.

The dangerous part is that he is not yet on his prime, so there's a lot of legroom for him to improved and be in the p4p list top 5. Donaire should retire because if he continues to fight the next time, he might get knock out again.
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 08, 2022, 01:13:08 AM
Canelo's image now is not that good anymore because Bivol really did some scratch on his record, after being the pound-for-pound king and an undisputed boxer, he lost by a UD.

Not that totally damaged but Canelo can still regain that status. He is still in his prime years after all.

After the Canelo vs GGG trilogy, it was reported that he will go to Bivol next for the rematch. Unfortunately, Bivol seems not interested in the rematch as he claimed he want more title than a rematch. Hopefully, if Canelo will able to win against GGG, that might push Bivol to consider a rematch with Canelo.

But before that, Canelo needs to settle first the chapter between him and GGG. A chapter that until now, no clear winner that's why a trilogy is necessary.

I agree, he is not a damage good, it's just that we don't see him losing the fight against Bivol. But Bivol is too much for him in a weight that he is not used to.

And remember that Canelo is one of the best and for sure these kind of boxers have the mentality to bounce back again, like Manny Pacquiao. I think there is still fire inside of Canelo to finished this trilogy with GGG and settled the discussion between these 2 legendary boxers. And it's good that Canelo experienced his second lost, so that he will have to improved and not being too much self-satisfying, in my opinion.
1995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Luna 2.0 keeps falling on: June 08, 2022, 12:39:37 AM
I think it's obvious, investors are not going or willing to risk their hard earn money again to this scammers. And as much as we feel sorry for those who lost a lot of money here, I don't think they can recover it back by investing on Luna 2.0.

so I doubt that even if we are in a bull run, they can regain the trust and reputation. Sure there could be occasional pump, but it will be due to the manipulation behind and not investors putting their money because they believed on the project itself. Those days are gone now and we might say that they will become another shitcoin in the congested altcoin market.
1996  Economy / Speculation / Re: It goes same way people never learn btc 30k on: June 07, 2022, 03:04:26 AM
everyone 's analysis is different , so there are many perceptions , so convincing yourself with your own analysis is better . with a price of 30k I think it's safe to enter btc, even though it's still down to 29k for me it's still safe to survive
I agree with you because at least if we use our own analysis, we can certainly learn and gain experience that will be useful for us in the future. Maybe we will be wrong in analyzing, but it will make us continue to learn more in analyzing market movements to improve our skills in analyzing the market. At $30k a while ago, it was a good time to buy bitcoin, but for now, it seems better to wait a bit to see where the bitcoin price will go.

That's why TA is there for us, to see what others can't see and then take it positively or negatively and try to go around with it.

So it's up to individual preferences, but we all know that there are newbies here that don't know what TA is and just look around for advise, so at least we should learn from investors. See what they are saying, like it's a good time to buy right now, and maybe we can follow them and see how it goes, specially if bitcoin goes up in the future and making 2x at least in our investments.
1997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: June 07, 2022, 02:27:21 AM

I just learned that the winner of this rematch between Naoya Inoue and Nonito Donaire might face the new WBO Champion, Paul Butler.

Yes, because they want to unify all the belts and Butler happen to have the WBO, (in which Casimero used to hold).

I thought Inoue will move up weight now if ever he will beat Donaire at their rematch and won't bother to unify the title that Butler holds. I believed I encounter an article regarding that Naoya Inoue's plan.

Well then, moving forward, it's already expected that we can see decent odds for Nonito Donaire to win the match. I'm also considering placing a bet for him to support the Filipino Flash. It's good that while supporting someone, we are also enjoying good odds as a bettor.

Time flies really fast. It looks like the match was just recently announced and now only a few days of waiting before we can see them clash again. All the advantages including the home arena were on Inoue's side. This is really a big upset if Donaire will beat the Japanese monster. It will send some shockwave news around the boxing community world.

Yeah, just hours ago from now, Inoue can't squeeze that frame of his in that body, it was evident in the weigh-in that he is the bigger guy and maybe he will move up in weight class after this fight specially if he will win it.

Donaire, huge underdog, but I have bet on the fight going into distance or over 7.5 rounds. Good and very attractive odds.
1998  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin fall below $30k on: June 05, 2022, 01:21:21 AM
I guess by now we know that the price might be trending in the $20k-$30k and that is bear market for us. And what others have pointed out, we might want to see this kind of movement, but we are in the bear market and learn how to accept it and play. I know it's hard specially if you wanted to day trade because of the huge risk. So what others do, specially those who don't have to trade, it just fill your bags with BTC and look for long term investment.
Hmmm? Really?

Let's see .. we are still on an attempt to break the $32k to $33k , im pretty sure once we get through that range, we are no longer in bearish trend.
Nearly $31k now and yet swinging ...
Good time to scalping and get some quick cash in short term though.

The bearish period anyway is a subjective one because it depends on your point of reference.
Some may look this time as bearish but if you compare it to the period where btc was like in the 17-25k, how can you identify this 30k level?
On the other hand, everyone is free to take this opportunity to possibly accumulate their btc stash.
The 30k range won't be forever, sooner or later, we may be hitting the 40k level again.

Right, that's why others maybe attempting to buy at this price as per preev: 29,690.

So we are still nowhere $32k-$35k price level wherein we will take as a good sign that we might be on the road to recovery. But then again, based on its past history, when we are in bear market, those kind of increased are not going to last. So possible that $30k might be the baseline price for this year as far.
1999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: taking out a loan for a sports bet on: June 05, 2022, 12:35:57 AM
I will echo the sentiments here, maybe a loan of $100 might be something that a gambler can take. But $100k? damn, that's too big a money to gamble and take the risk. And it's either you go to the bank or a loan shark, still the big question is what if didn't turn out to be as plan? It can totally ruin you unless you have something to pay or have a big collateral. This is the worst idea in gambling. As what we have said here, just gamble what you can afford to lose.
2000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good time for alts on: June 04, 2022, 06:58:15 AM
When the market is in a downward mood and nobody believes in rising, it is the best time to buy. At least for long term investing you can start buying ecosystem projects now. Even if bitcoin falls to 20k, it will be a good opportunity to buy good coins even cheaper. But now many coins are worth as much as in March 2020.

Right, that is what we are saying, bear market doesn't feel good for a trader and investor. Nevertheless this is the best time to buy, first, the price is very cheap. Second, once you buy those discounted altcoins, stick to it, hold and wait when it's going to rise up and then sell at the right time to max out your profits. It's just that this strategy is hard to execute because all you have is to have capital. And maybe some of us doesn't have the money right now that we have profited from last year's bull run (at least in my case).
