Quote from: Masplanc
The Super Eagles are not just lacking luck but they are lacking so many things that are bringing set back to them. Football is not all about luck sometimes, their are some certain things that are necessary for a team to possess. Super eagles needs to work very hard to be what they used to be like before.

I won't say luck because they didn't play so well that you should expect luck to play in their favour, I'm assuming you're taking about the games that lead to the world cup that's the world cup qualifiers. That was the last time I saw the Super Eagles playing badly, after then their performances so far has been very decent especially under this new coach. They're currently topping their group with the best goal difference in the whole tournament and not just their group.

They're are steadily improving and the transfer window has been favoring the Super Eagles player as they're getting good club interest. And with good playing time at club level will result to better exposure, it'll give the players more experience that they can use to dominate the domestic tournaments in Africa. We just have to give this guys times.
The situation with the Super Eagles has entirely nothing to do with luck. A lot of issues have to be fixed, we have more big players in the squad now than ever and we still find it very difficult to qualify even for the group stages playing against other African countries. How lucky do we think we can be against European countries. There has to be a constructive change, we need connection between the players and a positive spirit in the team.

Your dream to see CR7 next season with Manchester United is likely to be difficult to come true because their mega star wants to leave this summer. he wants to play in a club that has ambitions to win trophies. I hope he can join PSG in the next season. I am waiting for the two world football stars to play in one team. maybe if he manages to join PSG I think PSG will be a big enough candidate to win the UCL trophy. because messi, mbappe, ronaldo are players who have very impressive abilities on the pitch in recent seasons.
Do you think when they (messi, mbappe and ronaldo) are in one team they will be compact when playing? Because when they realize their own potential is still very good, then everyone will try to score goals individually without distributing the ball to others and that I think will be very detrimental to the club. And actually this season PSG also didn't have many shortcomings in their line of players, but it's a pity that they still didn't get the UCL trophy.
People forget its not just about individual performance, to compete and win trophies at the top level you need teamwork. These players are professionals and I believe they can blend their individual skill to complement each other's. Imo I think they will work together, Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe can form a good partnership, score goals and win trophies as a team. I really wish to witness such a team.

The rumours around Christiano Ronald possiblely leaving Manchester united during this transfer window means he's no longer comfortable with he's stay at Man United Club due to the club's poor performance Last seasons and coupled with fact that the Club only qualified for EUROPA Cup and were not able to have qualified for Champions League, So I think Ronaldo is basically aiming to play in the Champion league next season with another club after having him score 18 premier league goals in 30 appearance for the Red devil.

I believe Cristiano Ronaldo not happy his situation on Manchester United right now because his team not participants on Champion League, he ask United management try looking for and accepted new offering coming for him. Little worry have club will try get him because he has expensive salary and make difficult new team participants on UEFA Champion League will get his sign's. Need to pay transfer to Manchester United and later club have to pay higher salary will be weakness side from Cristiano Ronaldo, but if agree cut off his salary about 10% until 30% will have new team like Chelsea and Napoli are rumor getting Cristiano Ronaldo.
As I said, Ronaldo came to Manchester United to win trophies and the team put up a poor performance last season to add salt to the wound and finished 6th and missed out on the champions league football which is not good for a player like Ronaldo. He wants to play and always wants to compete so I won't blame him if he decides to leave the club this summer because the club getting better looks unlikely at the moment. I don't think it's about the money now for him, he wants to win trophies and I think he will choose the club that will give him that.
1984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: July 03, 2022, 07:13:28 PM
Sincerely, I don't see the direction Manchester united is heading. They have been very slow in their transfer dealings, Christiano Ronaldo is not seeing any sign of improvement, I wouldn't blame him if he decides to leave, he chose Manchester United above Manchester City, that should show his loyalty to Manchester United. Ronaldo came back to United to help the team and to win trophies but after a poor season and a change of manager, the club has not made any move to sign new players. It's in his own interest that he moves to another club.

Manchester United are claimed to be close to an agreement for Christian Eriksen. He is a free agent now and this deal must be much easier to complete for them. Not much time ago there were rumours like he didn't want to go to Manchester United but now things seem to have changed. They are waiting for Eriksen to accept their verbal offer now. I think Eriksen shouldn't miss this opportunity to play for a big team in the league. I know Manchester United are newly recovering but he can be helpful for them to do better.
After the incident with Erikson, talking about his heart issues during the Euros cup that made him leave Inter milan, he has not being gaining the interest of big clubs until now. He did well last season in Brentford which attracted the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and other clubs, it is a golden opportunity for him cause at his age you don't always get such opportunities in football.

Now I hear that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Youri Tielemans. If they don't have any rival left in this race to sign him then I don't expect things to go bad for Arsenal. Leicester might be a little insistent about the transfer fee maybe but I believe they can find a middle way at the end. Arsenal haven't even completed the Gabriel Jesus transfer fully but they must have quite a lot money now to be confident about this transfer too at the same time.

https://www.givemesport.com/88028478-arsenal-have-agreed-personal-terms-with-32m-target-at-the-emirates
Speculations about Youri Tielemans to Arsenal have been going on for weeks and we the fans have had our heads up and eyes open watching and waiting for the news of a done deal or hear Fabrizio say "here we go" to the deal. If it is true that personal terms between Arsenal and Liecester have being agreed then it is good news. After successfully signing Gabriel and you can get Tielemans to join that would be really wonderful and a plus to the development of the team.

It is very good for Liverpool to clarify Salah's condition in the team finally. Maybe he still had one more season before the contract extension but they must have been still worried about a possible departure. There haven't been any serious teams to sign him too these days. As of now Salah is staying for three more years which is wonderful. Mane's departure was really unfortunate too but I just hope to see Darwin Nunez performing great and satisfying the expectations of the team.
I'm also not happy that Liverpool had to lose such a devoted player, losing  a player like Sadio Mane because of wages should be shameful because I see no reason why Liverpool decided not to increase Sadio Mane's wage if they can do same for Mo Salah, this just shows they value Mane less in the team. They are lucky he didn't join a rival club. I'm glad he finally moved, he is happy at his new club.

France being "out of shape" makes no sense to me, that is not a good defense and I think it is not real at all. We should be realizing that they would be getting a lot more fit before the world cup as well, they will literally be playing both league games and also nation league games and some may even play champions league and other stuff. All which would be proof enough that they would be super ready by November comes.

Definitely it is not going to be too easy on France to win it all, I am not saying it's guaranteed, but how they are right now and how they are in November will be quite different. This is why it is important to realize they will be fit, and their chemistry will be on point for sure.

France do have a number of talented players. But nothing can be done if the team bonding is not right. And there were some ugly incidents between some of the players (Kylian Mbappé, Paul Pogba & Adrien Rabiot), which I mentioned in one of my previous posts. How can we expect this team to play with good cohesion after such incidents? The main problem with France is that their players are too selfish (this was the point made by Veronique Rabiot, the mother of Adrien Rabiot). The same can be said about Belgium as well.
That's a problem for the team, if unity is absent then there is no team work, and to win games easily and win trophies you need much team work. The world cup is bigger than any player, the manager should be able to unite this players and make them settle their differences and play as one if they want to have a chance at the World Cup come September.

I don't trust about the rumors only with Cristiano Ronaldo will play for AS Roma next season, I am waiting the expert journalist about player transfer update Fabrizio Romano, before he make announcement nothing will be possible and looks all media try to make speculative and get traffic only. What ever reason given by some people believe with Ronaldo back to Serie A and play with AS Roma I think before said by Romano not all its true. I think need time and waiting for second days will Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United training or he has take decision leaving Manchester United after playing with one season only.
So many rumours this days and I can hardly differentiate rumours from reliable and trusted news. We have heard this issue of Christiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United. There is no official statement from the Ronaldo or Manchester United concerning his departure. At this time, these are all rumours until the club releases a statement that he will be leaving Manchester United then I would say its happening.

We have seen lots of activities in the transfer window, many teams recruiting and strengthening their sides, adding fire power to their attacks, more creativity to their midfield and strength to their defence. Last season was a battle between Manchester City and Liverpool for the title but next season I see Tottenham also coming in the race for the title. We have seen and know what Conte can do and with the recent additions to his team he would compete and fight for the league next season.

According to rumors, the 1st official bid for DeLigt from Chelsea is very close.
it can happen in a day and always according to rumors it will be 70m €+bonuses, Juventus wants 100m € in value.
€100m is huge money for a center-defender although he is still 22 years old. If Chelsea is still owned by Roman Abramovich, I believe Chelsea has no problem with that amount of money. But Chelsea is no longer owned by Abramovich, I doubt Chelsea has that big money to sign a single center-back. €70m + bonuses is actually a good offer, Juventus may still try to prevent De Light by charging a high price for him. Chelsea has €70m, so needs more money (€30m) to get a deal. I think €30m isn't a little amount of money, it is still far from a "close deal".  Grin

Anyway, I heard a rumor that Chelsea found another target. They are in talks with Sevilla management to negotiate for Jules Koundé. They probably think De Light price is too expensive, Jules Koundé becomes the alternative.

We have always seen huge price tags placed on players this days, Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for an amount close to £140m, Manchester City signing Erling Haaland for £100m and Jack Grealish also. Some of this player seem to be worth the price tag though but signing a centre back for £100m is really much, how many defenders can you get if you need to sign 3 to 4 defenders especially with Chelsea which need to replace their outgoing defenders I think it wouldn't be wrong going for another alternative.

Real Madrid team looks organized at the moment, they have good players and talent as well. The same players who won the league and the champions league are still present and can compete at all levels for the club next season. Lewandoski is one hell of a player but I don't think they need Lewandowski now they have Benzema who is a replica of Lewandowski judging from his form and finishing level, what they need now is to sign 2 to 3 players to replace the outgoing players

It looks like there are four teams which are after Jesse Lingard now. With Tottenham's joining, these teams are Tottenham, Everton, West Ham and Newcastle. When we consider the qualities of these teams Tottenham are one step ahead of the others. However West Ham might get ahead in this deal too because he played for them on loan before. His performance was great then too. Lingard must be aware that he will be no more than a reserve player for Tottenham. He can play in many more games if he goes to West Ham.
Lingard had uncertain situation because so far there are no clubs who serious want him and regarding the rumours he targeted by 4 clubs it is still remain rumours even Tottenham already get Richarlison so small chance for Lingard to joining this team and for West Ham actually Moyes want to bought him because they impress to his performance during loaned but there is no further step about this news and now Everton reported watching him because they looking for the replacement of Richarlison and Everton will talk with his agent soon but this still far from an agreement
In my opinion Jessie Lingard is a good player, I like his style of play, his runs and the dedication he puts into the team and his work rate is wonderful. After a successful season at West Ham United, I expected them to sign him on a permanent deal but I'm a little disappointed with how it's going. I don't know why the deal has stalled cause I think Manchester United will be open to sell, maybe the hammers are not agreeing with his price tag or something I'm not sure but if Everton can get him on their side it will be a good addition for Frank Lampard.
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 02, 2022, 08:36:17 PM
According to early reports, Neymar's transfer speculation was sparked by Brazilian's negative reaction to Nasser Al-Khelaifi's comments. Reportedly, Al-Khelaifi said, "A possible departure of Neymar this summer? What I can tell you is that we expect all players to do a lot more than last season. A lot more! They must all be 100%. Obviously, we weren't good enough to go far."

It is clear to everyone that this message was addressed to Neymar. As the English media reports, Chelsea's new owners have already begun negotiations with Neymar for a transfer. The new owners have enough money for transfers and will do everything possible to further strengthen their team. Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel managed Neymar at PSG for three seasons, so he knows all of his strengths and weaknesses very well. In addition, the "blues" have no permanent left-winger, so Neymar would have virtually no competition there!

Are you sure about this? Maybe it was addressed to Messi who, after his transfer, had the worst season of his career? There are rumors that PSG want to get rid of both Neymar and Messi already, but I would not be sure about Messi since he is part of the promotional campaign for the World Cup held in Qatar. Perhaps after the tournament he will be sold, but not before.
I think it's hard to admit that Neymar and Messi's performances have dropped, because if that's the case I'm sure PSG won't hesitate to sell players. In this case, it seems that Neymar is the only one who gets this treatment and also, some sources say the main problem is about the amount of salary so that Neymar is no longer needed by PSG for next season. Because for me, Neymar's performance is still good but if PSG no longer need him because of his declining performance then that is a good reason to go on loan or sell him. Just can't imagine them confidently making a long-term contract for Neymar with a lot of money, but after Mbappe got a new contract Neymar seems to be no longer respected.
I can't really say much on this but you don't always see clubs extending contracts of  players who are underperforming. Neymar in recent seasons clearly have dropped in form and if PSG decide to sell or send him out on loan it will be an understandable decision from the club because you can’t be paying high wages to a player who is not playing to expection. If you want an extended contract with high wages you should earn it reference to Mo Salah at Liverpool

I think that Mohamed Salah definitely deserves his new contract. In the end he has had the biggest contribution to the successes of the team so far with his goals and assists. Maybe the deal is really huge but he is one of the greatest players right now. It is normal for him to demand a contract like this. However I agree with people who are saying that the other players who have made big contributions deserve a wage increase too. Liverpool have played very strongly as a team too in the end.
Mohammed Salah has done really well for himself and for the club, coming to the club and being so important for Liverpool. He is currently the most important player in the club which has earned him a further contract extension with an increased wages to 350,000 pounds. The fans and club will be very happy to get the deal done as they would not want to lose another one of their key players in one summer.
1997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: July 01, 2022, 08:44:08 PM
Latin American duo Brazil and Argentina are very favorites to win the Qatar world cup title this year considering they have such an extraordinary generation so it's only natural that they are the favorites in the event while for the European continent alone only France and Germany can trouble the Latin duo. without underestimating teams like England and Belgium, we can say they are the dark horse team in the 4th annual event, because they are not a team with a winning mentality like France and Germany, so it's only natural that I don't put them in the top list of winners of the 4th annual grand event. the

France and Germany are not in good shape. Remember Germany losing to North Macedonia in the World Cup qualifier? And also, France was the favorites to win the Euro cup. Then what happened? They couldn't even qualify for the quarter-finals. During the PQF stage, they got beaten by Switzerland. And after that, there was a lot of controversy. Remember the one between the parents of Paul Pogba and Adrien Rabiot? Kylian Mbappe got involved as well. In case of Belgium, they are too dependent on Lukaku.
With the world cup yet to begin in September, both teams have still have time to prepare, reshape the squad and get back to form and winning ways. Alot can be achieved in this short space before the world cup begins so I have the feeling boths teams will back to form when the tournament begins. Belgium also have a good team with great talents and I expect them to make it to the round of 16 at least .

Momo Salah has extended his contract with Liverpool, official.

Source: https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1542886431479267329

It is just great to hear that Mohamed Salah is continuing with Liverpool for more years. It seems like the new contract is going to last until June 30, 2025. He is said to earn 350k pounds per week from now on. It is really good that they have found find a middle course finally. His demand was 400k pounds per week first but he still said okay for this deal. Liverpool really need Salah currently as he is the player who makes the highest contribution. As long as they don't find the exact replacement for him they should keep him.
Quite a smart move from Liverpool to extend Salah's contract. His contribution to the club is something else and despite being one of the best players in Liverpool, he still gives room to the younger ones to improve on their game and that shows a good leader quality.
In my own opinion, I don't think Salah plays for the game or the money because looking at his contract clause and weekly pay, he's supposed to earn more, but I guess he is doing it for the love of the game.
Finally Liverpool did they needful by extending Salah contract with an improved package, he had given so much to the club and deserve a good reward in term of bumper and improved weekly pay, I hope he continues to live up to expectations next season and with the departure of Mane all eyes will be on him to deliver and produce good result for club by carrying along newly signed Darwin Nunez in the attack to ensure consistency in winning many of their matches so that the absence of Mane wouldn't be felt by the club, congratulations to him and wishing him a successful stay in Anfield.
The fans will be so glad knowing they have being able to secure the signature of their top player for a further long team deal after loosing one of their key players in same summer. They will be very delighted with this development. Mane will surely be missed for the contributions in the team. Klopp will have to get the new boys to blend in, form a good partnership and get him results as soon as the league resumes in August.

Benzema was in peak form last season. And I hope he will be able to carry on with the same form in the next season. I don’t know if Robert Lewandowski wants to prove anything like being better than Benzema but he certainly doesn't wanna stay in Bayern Munich.
Hopefully, I will also have high expectations for Benzema and also Real Madrid. Although it may not be easier for the next season because we know that Barcelona is now really struggling to improve their squad and also performance. The next season's matches will be more interesting and exciting than previously I think. Moreover if Lewandowski really comes to Barcelona, this will be more exciitng to see the comeptition right?

It will be really interesting if Robert Lewandowski comes to Barcelona but I really don’t think Barcelona should bring Robert Lewandowski in at the expense of 50 million. Because Robert Lewandowski is going to be good only for two or a maximum of three years. And that is not worth 50 million even if they win the league title twice in these years. But if Barcelona actually gets Robert Lewandowski in the team it will be really interesting to see which player does better, Benzema or Lewandowski.
Lewandowski is undoubtedly a fantastic player, not every striker scores this much goals like lewandowski these days. If Barcelona succeed in getting lewandowski on their side it will be good for the club getting a world class striker who can guarantee them 25 to 30 goals per season. The Laliga will be very interesting to watch and the El clasico rivalry will intense again having lewandowski and benzema on both sides.

Since the departure of Roman Abramovich from the club a lot has changed, we have seen some changes in the club, most of this changes which have affected the team negatively and stalled some activities. The most recent is the departure of Mariana Granovskaia, one of the club transfer master minds. Todd Boehly taking over transfers now seems not to be going the way they used to when Mariana was in charge.
