1981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 09, 2023, 02:10:21 PM

I think Inter Milan is going to try disabling Haaland for this match because they are aware of his powers and if they don't put Haaland under pressure one opportunity can be enough for him to change the game.

Yes, you’re right. Obviously, they would want to try and guard tightly Haaland who is known and good at suddenly opening up to receive passes/crosses and being able to finish off beautifully. Inter Milan knows he’s a danger man and would try to keep him closely marked at all times.
But I doubt that would make any difference in the game as Manchester City doesn’t depend wholly on the abilities of Haaland as there are other players who, when with the ball are equally dangerous and capable of scoring goals as well. Inter Milan do need to be prepared to face a tough competition.
I think Manchester City's other opponents were also well aware of Haaland. Leipzig, Bayern, Real Madrid could do nothing against Manchester City. I don't think Inter can find the right key. After all, you not only have to stop the attack but also try to break down the defence to try and score a goal. We have to admit that Manchester City are unbeaten this season.
No one is in doubt that Manchester city are clear favorite in securing the title and their team is obviously more balance and stronger than inter Milan but a fact still remains that its a game of football and everything and anything is possible so I would do what most gamblers don't do which is not to totally write out this inter Milan team and their capability.
1982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 09, 2023, 02:04:02 PM
So far He (ETH) has taken Man United in the right direction, won Man United the cup, brought Man United to the FA cup final, Europa quarter and 3rd place in the EPL league. This is an amazing feat for ETH in its first season. he really took Man United over that line. This man is different from Sir Alex and Man United's management needs to support him to build Man United stronger in the next season.

Overall, Ten Hag deserves to be praised. He took a big risk by coming to Man United. That second season was when he really started to apply his style. But if he doesn't have his new players in before pre-season it becomes much more difficult.
The Glazers are currently negotiating the final amounts for the club. The fans are thrilled with Manchester United's current enhanced development; there is no reason for concern, and they are also improving in league games. Erik Ten's future at Old Trafford seems promising and he's always ready to offer assistance the club with pressing issues. Erik Ten Hag is an appropriate selection for Manchester United, and he has big ideas for the club. This season, the Red Devils finished in the top four, preparing for UCL action next season.
Indeed ten hag is a man of vision and he has proven that by securing Manchester united the capital one Cup and also qualifying for the champion league next season and in overall, the most exciting thing is that the team performance and player cooperation has increased to some extent that Manchester united fans can now watch games in their stadium and also outside their stadium without fear of bad performance from the guys in the red jerseys.
1983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guilty of promising not to gamble for specific days but back next day on: June 09, 2023, 01:58:16 PM
I did it many times back when my addiction is very high, I promise not to gamble after I lose a big amount I even swear that I will not, but the following day I'm back even promising to be better and not lose a big amount again.

How many of us are guilty of this?
Well buddy, if only other people will just say the truth as you did then we will find out that its not only you that have walk down this road because as far as I know it, gambling has a very strong spirit and only if you are discipline enough can you be able to stop this reoccurrence of  quitting and resuming the next day.

I had a similar topic like this once which say NOT QUITTING ONLY TAKING A BREAK as I believed most gamblers who claim to have stopped the act only took a break on it for a little while.
1984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 09, 2023, 10:04:10 AM
I’ve turned $1,000 into $100,000
I’ve turned $6,000 into $80,000
I’ve turned $11,000 into $550,000
and recently I’ve turned $4,000 into $90,000

With nothing to show for it…I’m a sharp sports bettor, but I always end up going all in. I can never be satisfied until it’s too late. I always need to go all in.

I’ve been reading comments from my last post (turning $4,000 into $90,000 and losing the entire $90,000), and I can’t help but feel like shit.

How do I get over the countless failures? I’ve been chasing the $1,000,000 dream for years.
Well although your digits are quite big compare to most other little gambler but one thing is certain in both which is the ability not to control yourself to stop whenever you have not reach your goal. and this problem is not experienced by only you and most certainly all type of gamblers. The ability to wait and pause when gambling seem to be very hard and it's always land the gambler in situation where he would be regretting why he hadn't done so.
1985  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: It would have been worse without Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general. on: June 09, 2023, 12:53:41 AM
You know, mate, since I started using Bitcoin, I have used it to make so many payments across five or more countries now, of which, if it were through a centralized system, the fee would be high and there would be no privacy because those authorities that would process the transaction would know who the money was coming from and where it was going, but with Bitcoin, no one would even know that I had carried out any transactions apart from me and the receiver. Although the transaction can be recorded on the blockchain, no one would know it was me who carried out the transaction. So, Bitcoin has really been a good technology in terms of investment and decentralized payment. Yes, every Bitcoiner is aware of the millionaires and billionaires that have emerged through Bitcoin investment, it may not have been easy for some people to make the money they have without Bitcoin in the picture. Bitcoin will still make some people Wealth.
I agree with you, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have served as a good alternative to fiat for trances border transactions unlike before when it take days to weeks to send money from one country to another,  with all it risks of losing privacy and high fees but now with Bitcoin one can send ten of thousand of dollars to love one without delay and haven't to break the bank for that, with just few dollars fees, and if you think that bitcoin network is too congested or feel is high you can chose from other stable cryptocurrencies with cheaper fees and faster transaction time which are all better alternative to Bitcoin.

But in most cases, bitcoin is being used for trances border transactions due to its popularity and stability among others.
Bitcoin is simply just the perfect money, I remember some years back when I was still in school and my uncle in the Netherlands had to send me some cash from there to me in Africa, my God it was really stressful to redeem this money I had to go through many process and at end of it all sometimes I end not using the money for it sole purpose or I will up some stacks of mine to complete it because of all the different charges the money might have enquired on its way to me. But if I had known or he himself had been using BTC as the payment means to me it would have been a lot more easier and faster and with lesser fee if not for the shitcoins that are currently flooding the bitcoin block chain making the fee rate increase by some margin.
1986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: June 08, 2023, 01:12:53 PM
Al Ittihad is known as the best team in the Saudi Professional League. But Karim Benzema has taken a stronger form since he was brought into the team. Meanwhile, since Cristiano Ronaldo came to Saudi Arabia, many stars are now turning to Saudi clubs. It is impossible to get offers of such huge sums of money from anywhere else, which is why Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have arrived. And (Lionel Messi is rumored to come to Saudi clubs) but if all these stars are in Saudi clubs, Saudi clubs will definitely have more success. Because a good teacher can teach the game to other players because these are the best players in the world today.

I agree, christaino Ronaldo has pave the way for Saudi football to be more fun to watch and also gamble on different sport books and with the new addition of famous players to league, it will also make things more interesting and I can't wait to supposedly see lio messi in the this league. But my only concern about this current trend of player moving to the Saudi league is that football these days is now look on the financial aspect instead of the joy that comes in playing the game.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 08, 2023, 09:42:59 AM
I saw this online and thought maybe i should bring on to bitcointalk for discussion.

If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?

if that you went home with the little balance left in your pocket there is no way you would have entirely lose everything, and also often happened to those who are after chasing lose.

Keep trying to make a single win and ended up losing everything ever earn, that is why at any given time you strike a winning do not continue to gamble thinking another cool opportunity would come again.
But the truth is that almost all gamblers find it hard to walk out with little money in your  hand after you might have lost a lot of cash while gambling instead they will prefer to lose everything and be content with the fact that everything is gone than go home with a small portion of the cash you used in gambling because that little cash in your hands can make you feel regret of why ever going to play in the first place. But notwithstanding it is unwise to lose everything at once because they say "HE WHO FIGHTS AND RUNS AWAY, LIVES TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY
1988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Committed Suicide After Losing School fees, And That Of Friend To Betting.. on: June 08, 2023, 09:34:33 AM
It is really very sad but it is not good to take loan from a friend for betting because no one can guarantee whether you will win in gambling. It totally depends on luck. Many people will choose this road again if they are at risk if they can't win. Suicide is never the right solution to anything youngsters are very emotional, so first learn to control them and then bet. So this event can be seen as a small effort to lighten someone's misery rather than placing a bet or taking a risk for a friend learn more about gambling first then move on.
suicide is not an option but most people don't know this and they indulge themselves in this abominable act of taking your own life over a depth owed. As a gambler who fully understand that the game is a win and lose affair, you will have the understanding that gambling with other people funds is very dangerous and can lead you to destruction and if you know this you can avoid so many troubles that comes with gambling with the wrong money.
1989  Other / Archival / Re: [Merit] Help newbies and those who have a little left to the next rank on: June 08, 2023, 09:28:29 AM
Hey man, I think you have already gotten your junior member rank unlocked and the specification of merits on this thread doesn't fit the exact number of merits you are having and beside your next rank is probably member rank and your activity too is still low to achieve this rank plus your merits for qualification in this thread is 5, of which you have only 3 so I would suggest you just keep posting and making good posts and you will definitely get the merits and maybe some other times sir RATIMOV can boost you if the situation fits for him to do so.

Welcome to the forum mate,

Well I can see some members have already given great tips to start up your stay here in the community and if you want to grow and also improve your skills in bitcoin technology and the forum here you probably best follow those instruction and guidelines given to you.

I also want to add up an important advice for you as a newbie although I don't how you got to find out about the forum but if you stumbled upon here by yourself it will be a little bit confusing seeing everything so broad and wide so I would advice for you to patiently take your time to surf through the forum and do more reading before ever engaging in any discussion before its better to equipt and learn first before suggesting anything because you can't actually offer what you don't know and this will help you a lot to reduce supposed spam that most newbie here do.
1991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 07, 2023, 08:21:54 PM
I wouldn’t say I feel remorse after gambling, particularly when I win, but there are definitely times I wish I wouldn’t have bet. For example, when I don’t win. LOL. It isn’t always just about winning or losing though. There have been plenty of times where I lost a bet but the entertainment value I received was worth the price.
Really, it's LOL. We are happy when we win, especially when we really want to bet, but on the other hand when we really want to win but instead lose, regret will definitely come. This is a habit where we are not responsible for the bets we play, obviously this is only temporary before we continue with a new session.

Winning and losing is normal and it is temporary for everyone. It is possible to have fun at gambling, but the average person expecting to make a lot of money will really regret it.
Every gambler who expects to always get lots of cash from gambling will eventually experience this feeling of remorse because his or her expectation is always high and that could lead to disappointment and remorse anytime these expectations are not meet which is the winnings on his bet. I was once that type of gambler who expects winning always in every bet that I placed and it really affected me because I totally forgot the part of losing because the loss is unavoidable.
1992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 07, 2023, 07:27:29 PM
I don't think anyone would feel remorse after hitting a big win so this feeling is only attributed to huge loses and depends on the type of gambler too. We feel all kind of different emotions when we gamble but for a feeling of remorse, it can be only when we have lost and to some extent all hard core must have experience this feeling of remorse because of the way they take their gambling act as they don't gamble simply for fun only.
1993  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Established members and newbies on: June 07, 2023, 07:20:11 PM
Don't worry OP, everyone has been were you are today as the forum is design for everybody to actually past this newbie stage so you don't need to feel you are been snub by anybody or any established member as you would put it.

To rank up in the forum is pretty easy if you are actually willing to improve yourself, firstly I would advice you to stop thinking about the merits and start contributing more to discussion here and creating valuable posts and the merits will start hunting you and you hunting for it.
1994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: June 06, 2023, 08:49:18 PM
By the negative relationship between Binance and SEC Bitcoin prices drop significantly since yesterday. The price has fallen by 8.3 percent in the last seven days, 4.5 percent price drop in 24 hours. But such a situation is not new in crypto. Almost same situation like this happens and will happen in the future too but only those who take advantage of that opportunity can join the list of real gainers. This is an opportunity for those who are waiting to buy from the dip. And those who know how to capitalize on opportunities will also be successful in Bitcoin holdings.
Yes I think now is the right time to buy our bitcoins. I had previously bought bitcoins at a high price and now I am thinking of buying again with some money. Because now I can buy these bitcoins at a much lower price than what I bought them before.  I will sell after the month after the price increases. Then I can make a lot of money. It is the right time. Whoever can use this time can make money by investing.

You are lost rojan.

We are not talking about trading in this thread...

good luck with your dumbass trading plan, and go talk about it somewhere else, in some other thread that would be on your short-term profit trading topic (to the extent any of that is even a good plan).
Grin Grin "Dumbass trading plan", I think that will really clear him on the actually issue that is discussed here , I mean its not so hard to miss @Buy the DIP, and HODL!. Bitcoin is volatile no doubt but thats why its all fun and profitable and also a perfect means for an investment plan and more preferably a long term investment. Over the years bitcoin has proven its efficiency when compared to other altcoins who always tend to disappoint after their planned pump rise by major market influencers that deceive folks that are impatient to actually hodl their bitcoin and so diverse to other means to get the profits more quicker which I know is probably more risky.

Holding for a short term and trading have been one of these means but everyone or maybe I think its ways too risky and prefer to hodl my BTC till the markets looks favourable for me to sell off and that would probably be during another ATH but only time knows when and with knowing this, the curiosity to sell actually dies down too. So trading my coins for some cheap profits is totally off the question for me but I don't about any other bitcoin enthusiast but I will definitely prefer to Buy the DIP, and HODL!.
1995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers understood the game on: June 06, 2023, 08:32:24 PM
How many times have you successfully invited some gamblers to online casino? What is your experience doing so? I know many will find this hard to believe but I kinda prefer bringing in gamblers than investors into crypto, why? They understood the risk already, there is no talk and talk over again, there is no dealing with someone fear and confidence..

I have successfully brought in four people into crypto gambling, and it was the easiest thing ever, they came asking if it's possible to use crypto for gambling and I said yes, but I told them that I am not ready to introduce any platform for anyone, but these guys then showed me there past gambles on a local website that only accept Fiat, that's when I got soft with them and I showed them the websites I use for gambling.

The thing is, they are small time winners and big time losers, I mean they lose more than winning, it's been two weeks and two of them tell me about their loss and gains, but they make it feel normal, to them it really is, not like the crypto investors today, always in hurry to double their money, some are even scared of investing in Bitcoin, which is the safest of them all.
Your point may be of essence but it's still an inevitable fact that you just can't compare or even pair gambling with investment. The two doesn't sit well together in the life of anyone, you just got to pick one.  People has always mistaken gambling to be like investment, investment takes so long to produce profit but most gambling doesn't even take an hour to produce profit or loss.

Differently put, just because gamblers understand the feeling of loss doesn't mean they may all have the luxury of patience to wait so long in months even years to probably start seeing profit or a win, patience differentiate the gambler from crypto investor. They may withstand the loss but would they be able to withstand the waiting period of investment?

For sure no gambler and I mean "no gambler" who has experience a massive win that gave him/her big profits in just some minutes could be able to wait  for an investment to yield profits for them, knowing how long investment take to actually yeild tangible profits. Gambling and investment are totally two different means of making profits, one has to do with a split second loss and also same time frame when its comes to profits to earned while the other requires discipline and patience which most gamblers fail to posses.
1996  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial education or 1million dollars on: June 06, 2023, 08:19:15 PM
Financial education or 1million dollars

I will take the $1 million, then use some to aquire financial education and how to expand the money through business, Bitcoin investment and other investment. It's as simple as that.
Literally majority of people would prefer taking the 1 million dollars instead of financial education, but in a real sense if one do not have financial education, I wonder how he or she will be able to manage such an amount of money without getting it squandered and still go broke in the end, Despite the fact that we will prefer taking the 1 million ,however knowledge is key to whatever thing that you do. someone with proper financial knowledge can grow a $1000 into becoming 1 million dollars and even more.
Hmm, I guess now that you put it in that way is somehow clear to reason because I know of few of my friends who have had the opportunity to hold huge funds of about 12k to 15k$ but at the long run of everything they just end up squandering the whole money and this just show how financially unready he was because only a financially educated person could be able to hold, control and use that kind effectively to result a positive outcome.
1997  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: June 05, 2023, 11:36:26 PM
BUT if we're lucky enough, I would suggest that you keep that you're HODLing Bitcoin only to yourself, not even your relatives and close friends should know. Believe me, wealth doesn't entirely change the person who made the wealth. It changes those people around the person because they know he/she has made wealth.

In my personal experience the "wealth change" wasn't that much during last ATH, but if Bitcoin surges to $1 billion, I probably should go into hiding.
Indeed, it's not just Bitcoin that we need to keep secretive. We don't know who is who, and we also don't know who those that are close to us are; we just have to play it safe first before we think about praising ourselves. That's why in this forum, privacy protection is among the things that's highly advisable to holders.

Even if it's not Bitcoin holdings, it's important to always note that there are levels of wealth that we might be in possession of that we don't need to disclose to anyone. Because betrayal comes from envy, jealousy, and greed, if someone who is close to you knows that you are holding a huge amount of Bitcoin or some level of wealth, they can turn out to be the unknown enemy that we have been hearing about. If they can't harm you themselves, they will discuss you with the next person who will. Sometimes they won't do it because they want to take away all that you have, but because they just don't want you to have it.
One thing is acquire wealth and another is to maintain or should I say preserve this wealth, like you said the world is filled with evil minds so keeping your holdings secret will probably do you more good than harm because it also saves you the stress of not having to answer to the excessive request of wants and favors  from every fucking person around. More wealth results to more burden and more insecurity only if you exposed the secret of yours about your assets be it crypto or any other kind.

But I believe no good investor that might have started this bitcoin journey here in the forum that won't have the knowledge or even the basics about crypto and how vital it is to keep it all secretive but I guess some people just let that feeling of knowing their are massive owner of a significant amount of bitcoin get to them.

I don't know why you feel some kind of need to keep throwing out the vague term of "crypto" DaNNy001 when this is a bitcoin thread.

Do you believe that using the term crypto makes you look smarter in terms of your desire to include shitcoins into your discussion of what a bitcoin holder might be holding and might be keeping secret?

Yes.. maybe try writing your post over and specifying what you mean.

If you want to say that a person might hold a lot of variety of wealth that includes bitcoin and various other kinds of crypto (or shitcoins) or maybe some other kinds of assets that s/he would like to not disclose or to keep them secret, then maybe that is a potentially valid question, that might possibly be somehow related to this thread, even though we should be trying to focus on bitcoin here rather than throwing out vague concepts in regards to crypto and not even really specifying what is supposed to be meant by such term... in terms of what kinds of shitcoins that any of us might be holding in the future (besides holding bitcoin) and the extent to which there is any need to talk about that kind of a vagueness in this thread.

Don't get me wrong, it is likely not completely off topic, but it still seems important to me to focus on bitcoin first, and then if you feel that there is some kind of a need to refer to shitcoins (or crypto - presuming non-bitcoin digital assets or something like that), then sure maybe it would be ok. to mention that, but it mostly seems to me that you were just being sloppy in your choice of language (whether inadvertent or not).
I actually meant the use of that word to be bitcoin itself but actually used crypto instead of being specific @bitcoin, knowing fully well that crypto covers all range of coins including the recent shitcoins project that are currently streaming the bitcoin blockchain causing some much price hike in terms of fees. I agree with you that am being sloppy in terms of choice of language used and as you have corrected today, I think I will be more careful and direct when choosing the right word to relate to the discussion involved.

Well this is no lie as it is not only in the football sector, but the corruption has eaten so deeply that the improvement of these leagues just seem to be a dream that might never be accomplished.

But as a football fan and also a preacher of positive thought I don't believe the improvement of African football is an impossible feat to achieve, it just all depends on the mindset of those in place to set things In order.
