1981  Local / India / Re: P2P Scams are on the rise! Be Careful! on: June 18, 2023, 02:09:13 AM
Since crypto is not banned in India, Why not do real P2P instead of Fake P2P on CEX? I guess India has the large number of Crypto currency users, and it won't be hard for you to find a couple of buyers/sellers in your area whom you can deal with without involving 3rd parties. Of course, you have to be careful in this case as well. If you care much about your privacy, I don't think you also like CEX. Be careful when you meet buyer or seller. You can follow some tips like; Meet them on a public place and never visit the place you don't know or never visited before. I guess there are bunch of Websites in India where people sell goods and they are used to meet random people to sell their goods. You can do the same for crypto currency as well to avoid scams. Just my 2 cents!

"new" scam...a call saying that "there was an attempt to log into your account (at one of CEX), please provide credentials so we can secure it further".
beware

This is hilarious.
1983  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Stop Teaching When You Need To Learn. on: June 18, 2023, 01:40:01 AM
Or worse — sometimes we have users with zero merits trying to teach people how to make quality posts and how to earn merits the right way. Like, lmao. Every time I see those kinds of posts this is the thing that always comes to my mind:
This is hilarious. I don't have a problem if a newbie comes up with something I have never heard before or that is important to learn. Rank should not matter in this case. But, If someone is a newbie in forum rank and wants to teach others how the forum works, that's fascinating and affords to catch some merits. As I said, there are many talented people with newbie forum rank who have coding skills and other skills which may help others get rid of issues. I appreciate their help if they create a solution thread or post. BTW, where did you get this meme? I have seen this YouTuber, and he is proud of this meme. Now he got some subscribers. I hope people won't call you Bengali because you posted this.
1984  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does ranking not guarantee post quality? on: June 18, 2023, 01:31:27 AM
but if I'm honest, I found a lot of comments that have no value, they just write nonsense. Maybe I did too.
People write for their signature payment only these days. Maybe you have seen some AI writing accusations as well. People want to spend as little time as possible to post and meet the minimum requirement to get paid. Many people ranked up with airdropped merit, and they are shit posters. They are primarily active on gambling and gambling discussion threads because they get paid for writing in those sections. Unfortunately, once members join the signature campaign, they are unlikely to get kicked unless they get some tags. I saw people are still participating in signature campaigns with less than ten merits earned in the last 120 days.
1985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: June 17, 2023, 02:37:25 PM
Did you guys impressed by Nazmul Hossain Santo's performance? This guy is really trying to improve himself and it's started paying off. He got centuries in both innings and this helps him to achieve the man of the match. Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy played well in the first innings and another opener Zakir Hsana Played well in 2nd innings. The overall performance of their team was good. While batters did their job, bowlers also did their best job to restrict the Afghans from scoring lower than 300 in two innings combined. That was incredibly good from both batters and bowlers.
1986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How the casino takes money from you with a deposit bonus on: June 17, 2023, 02:20:48 PM
Most of the deposit bonus has more than 40x wager requirements in maximum casinos. Even if you play in a casino that has games with a 1% House edge, the chance to lose the amount is huge. As I said in many other threads before, there is a saying that House always wins in the long run. The idea of a deposit bonus with wager requirements is to make players play for a long time. Casinos know that the long time a player plays at a casino, the more chance they will end up losing their money. So, if you understand their motive and tried the deposit bonus. You already know how it works and you can judge it from your own experience as well.

1988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 15, 2023, 04:03:26 AM
People are saying that gambling is not good so nobody should involved themselves in it. Fathers/Mothers (parents) are shouting to their sons and sometimes beating them all because of gambling. If you are a gambler, the society sees you as a bad boy or person or a waste person in the family. Parents would be saying "look at your age mates, they are going to school and become a successful persons in the society, you are here playing gambling". They would even say, gamblers steal and thieves.

First of all, If you are underage, you shouldn't gamble. I don't think any casino allows underage players on their platform. But, most online casinos do not ask for a KYC upon sign-up. Underage people might take advantage of it. Gambling is supposed to take as entertainment. Who plays casino games all day? Why would someone gamble all day unless they are addicted? Only gamble when you are financially stable and don't care about losing a few bucks online. If you cannot afford to lose, you shouldn't gamble.

If there is an addicted gambler, he might do anything for his gambling funds including stealing money from their parents. So, the family members should care about other family members.
1989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: June 15, 2023, 03:46:16 AM
To clarify things better here is an example : if you were to deposit $1000 and win $200 in your first few games then you wouldnt be able to withdraw your winnings or even your deposits without wagering at least $5000. This means that 80% of the time, you would lose your money before reaching the required amount.
In my opinion this term is unfair.
This is not fair at all. Yes, I have seen casinos require their players to wager 50x or more if they take deposit, welcome, or other kinds of bonuses. That make sense because they won't give you something for free. You have to play there and you have to win. I also saw casinos need a wager requirement for any deposits to prevent money laundering. But, it was no more than 1x. Having five times wagering requirements on each deposit is not fair at all.

You should avoid that kind of casino at any cost. Of course, you have to read their ToS before you sign up and make a deposit. Because they may already mention this term on their ToS page. If you can make your first withdrawal from their platform, run away with your money and never look back. Those casinos are designed to steal money from users.
1990  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Bot with smart algorithm Available on: June 15, 2023, 03:24:51 AM
Since the thread is related to trading using Bots or AI, I would like to take the opportunity to ask traders if it's possible to make a profit from Bot trading. Trading with bots is available on a few platforms, But I never dare to use them because I don't want to lose my money by relying on a bot I have never used. I am curious if Bot trading really works. Suppose it works; does it always make a profit? Is it a riskless method to trade? I don't think there is any way to trade without risk.

When people talk about algorithms for trading, I feel like those are scams. If it is integrated into the platform, like Bot, it may have a good use case. But I don't trust any third-party programs.
1991  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 15, 2023, 03:17:07 AM
the more you decide to gamble more, the more you become susceptible to losing.
As I said in my previous post, this is called House always wins in the long run. No matter what game are you playing. If you play it for a long time, there is always a chance you might end up losing your capital. Constantly placing bets and calculating them is not an easy job. A player may lose many bets in a row. If he is able to control his emotion and can place bet wisely, they can recover. But it's not as easy as it sounds.

Quote
And while trading follows certain skills and strategies in the market, gambling does not have any of them. As long as you have luck, you can always gamble and end up winning or losing your capital.
While trading has some strategies, Some casino games also have strategies to beat the odds. But you have to be careful because every strategy doesn't work all the time. Sometimes pro gamblers like Drake end up losing.

1993  Other / Meta / Re: [Bitcointalk Party - Discord sv] Bitcoin Pizza bake-off contest! Enter by June 1 on: June 14, 2023, 09:51:31 AM
there is a lot of talk about freedom, the creator of the contest decided these rules (or no rules)
everyone is free to create the contest as he wants and with the rules, he deems appropriate
According to the organizer, The contest is supposed to be fun. The prize pool was minimal. Since there is money involved, people decided to take advantage of the Discord voting system (I won't say it's a cheat because there are no particular rules about voting). Yes, it would be good if the organizer decides to change the voting system since it's too controversial. However, Organizer said if they see people cheat on the contest and ruin it, they may don't see the contests anymore.

The idea of keeping the voting system on the forum will be good.

1995  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your favorite crypto;Bitcoin on: June 14, 2023, 12:40:41 AM
If you ask such a question in a Bitcoin forum, Of course, the majority of the forum member will say their favorite crypto is Bitcoin. It's not like they don't own altcoins. Most of us own altcoins and we use them for various purposes. But, when it comes to my favorite crypto, It's Bitcoin. There is a reason behind it. Bitcoin is the crypto that people trust because of its decentralization. No one will be able to manipulate the market by increasing the supply (Whales can do it by buying or selling a huge amount). Bitcoin price will increase over time. If people understand the concept of Bitcoin, they won't say they like some other coins except for Bitcoin.
1996  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 14, 2023, 12:10:51 AM
I think there is something wrong here. Huh
I'm sure you missed "trading" word in the sentence and you put too many "gambling" word.
Right. There was a mistake. I wrote gambling twice. One of them supposed to be Trading.

Quote
Gambling is supposed to be fun and for entertainment purposes.
Unfortunately, some people play gambling for money. They think gambling is a way to earn money easily.  Grin
The sad thing is most of them end up losing money. In the long run, the house wins. The casino has the edge to beat a player. Gambling is not easy money at all.

It is not as simple as you said.
We can buy coins at any time, but it is always not easy to wait for the time for selling. The pump isn't something predictable, it is even possible to have no pump if the project disappears.
I know it's not easy. The project will disappear only if you choose shitcoins to spot trade. Shit coins are good for leverage trading. But, I was talking about spot trading. You should choose some established coin for trading if you want your coin not to be disappeared from the market.

1999  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why do you still want to play fake web2 casinos? Why we choose web3 casinos on: June 13, 2023, 01:44:29 PM
It's just for now many trust those web2 based casino since majority of them already accumulated a good reputation compare to those new which claims about that fhey are web3 based casino. In matter of time this web2 reputable casino will adopt the changes if web3 technology will became more successful. But for now the same with other who stays on web2 reputable I chosento gamble with them since reputation all matters than those words.
This is not the problem here. Justbet is a platform that should focus on developing and improving its website. Instead, they are asking some questions which trigger web2 casinos. They directly accuse web2 casinos, saying those web2 casinos are unfair. I am also surprised that no casino representative has defended it yet. Or maybe did? I did not see any comment from web2 casino representatives. Justbet did not submit any proof of their claims. I have asked some questions in my previous post in this thread. Their casino representative simply choose not to answer while they was expecting answers from forum members.

We may still consider applications from prominent members or previous CM participants and as such this campaign is still considered OPEN.
