I'm officially being screwed over right now. The goddamn interest rates on Bitfinex for borrowing BTC are practically 0 while you have to pay some monstrous rate to borrow USD, the price is going up, and I cant do shit. WTF do I do now. I have already lost like 2 BTC if I buy right now.
lol margin also, 0.16%/day isn't the worst

funny how many things you miss when you step away from bitcoin for even only a few days we already took this in and digested it. didn't like how full of bs it was so we spit it back up
So true, lol. This ban is interesting tho, I hope they don't lift it. The ban creates an interesting test case for what happens when a country attempts to restrict bitcoin, it should tell us allot about its long term viability when larger scale action is inevitably taken should bitcoin truly take off. We concluded that Thailand did not officially ban bitcoin, but at the advice of a few members of the Bank of Thailand, that it might be illegal since Thailand law didn't cover it. No where did they publicly state that it was indeed illegal. So there was a huge amount of controversy since the initial guy who spread the "news" created a bunch of FUD that ended up on countless media outlets

Why is this thread like a magnet for fools/trolls lol...
Sweet irony at last. It's really one of the best things cognition ever offered us, so beautiful :')

Read my replies.
I have read your replies and reached the conclusion that you are a fool that doesn't understand how Bitcoin works nor what irony is yet try to explain it to other people. Now this is ironic, in that you think you're the smarter man but manage to make yourself look even more foolish

not surprised by this weekends action. i like it, its like there's an unwritten rule among whales, no big moves on weekends...
At least til Sunday night/Monday morning. Always darkest before dawn As in, no one ever sees it coming The biggest moves always happen when i'm at work (where my computer usage is monitored by Stalin himself), or when i'm sitting down having breakfast about to leave for work. One or the other. What time zone are you in? I'm -5 GMT gmt+1 Seems to correspond decently well. My 2-5 am is like your 8-11am

^this was my ballpark deduction. I agree with your range oda 1. 11.5M bitcoins 2. probably around 0.5-5M in active circulation 3. prices around 96 leads me to believe that bitcoin isn't as widely adopted as some might think it is. Though it assuredly is increasing. Speculation doesn't seem to be over the top, pretty healthy considering the future ramifications of this tech and what it would mean to hold BTC were Bitcoin to become a success IMO.
Assume market cap is an accurate way to measure actual market cap 11.5MBTC*$96= $1104M Conservative guess, if only 100,000 different people hold bitcoins, each person might've put in $11040 to support the price and the average person would have 115BTC. But we know this isn't true. Say half the total coins outstanding aren't even on the market (Satoshi's and hold-BTC-til-USD-dies-hoarders' wallets for instance). Say 5M bitcoins were actively circulated. Price should be accordingly high assuming the total sum of USD inflow is the same, or conversely, the amount of USD that people that hold bitcoins have put in are lower, supported by more hands holding. My guess is that the number of people who hold bitcoins is higher though. 2% of all bitcoin users donating to wikileaks seems to be a bit too high.
[see quote origin for numbers about wikileaks]

For points that would support the theory: re. paypal rumor:
a) You have to trust someone that breaks trust of company he works for and likely confidentiality obligations. And for what?
b) How is a company like PayPal going to "accept" business in bitcoin currently? Paypal has to consider the legal ramifications of doing this in every country in the world where it operates, and where the legality of bitcoin is not yet certain.
c) It would be much safer for PayPal to invest money in a company like BitPay to hedge its bets going forward but to separate its current business from a speculative investment in a 'currency' of questionable legality.
d) Do people really believe random rumors posted on internet message boards? Use your head!

Hahaha! This. I can't wrap my head around how PayPal could integrate Bitcoin. I could see them employing a team of DARPA-types to dream up a PayPal controlled cryptocurrency. Getting max ROI on their investment of licensing as a MSB in most of the world.. Seriously, sounds like a no-brainer to me. Seems pretty easy to implement honestly

hehe you tell me about me about the transits! I don't have the birth info and can't be bothered to look toooo deep into Bitcoin's charts, especially since they're not certain (originating location), but, they're fun I got this from Jonathan Cainer for general Capricorns btw

typically anxiety is an emotion felt when you're faced with something you need to address the root cause of, a feeling very easy to just push back or try to numb yourself from
