how anon is this? better than xmr?

Someone is going to have to do some deep analysis just to define "better" in this case. V 1.3 does promise in-wallet TOR OBSF4, which will make transactions anonymous in TOR blocked and heavily censored countries. No other coin has this. Commits are happening on Spectrecoin Github now. Very exciting to be on the cutting edge, but still, no one knows about this coin!!!!

Looks like XSPEC is ready to rise again.

What is the rise signal?

no idea, this doesn't sound right anyway.

one of the main devs had to step down DURING the bitcoin altcoin uncertainty period. I dont think anyone is trying to keep the price down to consolidate coins cheaper, i think it has taken it's course organically.

the next update will be the sole force behind a price rise in xspec imo

I say that because of the recent big sell walls with descending sell orders in lame amounts that don't add up to much, squashing the spread and pushing the price down. Looks quite deliberate to me.

you could say a similar situation happened when the price got to 16k, the books seemed to be manipulated to some extent.

that being said, as long as the coin keeps moving forward then if someone is pushing the price down as you say, they won't be able to keep it up once the updates come in

If I'm right, then they won't want to keep it down. They are either A: acquiring on the bet the new release will bump the price, or B: Acquiring for a pump. Either scenario means there's a highly probable price increase around the corner.

Looks like XSPEC is ready to rise again.

We'll see if it lasts. There has definitely been an effort to keep it down and consolidate. It shouldn't legitimately rise without the new update, which they say is done, actually being released.

is this "Zero Knowledge Proof" thing not all about paranoia?  Grin
i mean is simply mixing and hiding your ip not good enough?
For me personally i don't care if it is that secure, because i'm just an investor who has nothing to hide  Grin
But i think the criminals will feel safer if they know, that the nsa or any other authority can't see what transactions were made if they get their hands on the devices by house searchings for example.

I very much disagree with the notion that there are two types of people: Those with "nothing to hide" and "criminals". Privacy is everyone's right. When you support a privacy coin, you are doing a service for everyone, not "criminals" It is criminals, in my opinion, who need to know what you are doing with all of your transactions. Those are the people who think they are magically entitled to a portion of what belongs to you. Thank you for investing in Spectrecoin, but not from a criminal, from a regular guy who values the privacy of all individuals.

Just some random thoughts:

Until cryptocurrencies hit critical mass (meaning you can go to the local hardware or grocery store, and they have posted in their front window which cryptocurrencies they accept), cryptos will behave as commodities, their value as denominated in fiat currencies rising and falling on the prevailing sentiment of speculators (a.k.a. bull and bear market cycles).  Nothing wrong with that; just stating the nature of the beast.

The entire cryptocurrency sector is in a bear market right now.  The bear market is still in its early stages, but this may well be approximately the bottom of the initial move down.

I believe this bear market, like most, will last for months, if not a year or more.  Still, in the early stages, bear markets tend to undergo deep plunges, followed by moderate rallies, lesser plunges, and so on until a trough is carved out, and the stage is set for a new bull market.

My take is that we are near the bottom of the steepest plunge now.  There may be even lower dips in the future, but right now is a good time to buy, if you believe in buying low.  There will be a rally after this plunge, and more dips after that.  Just be aware that it will be a while before another sustained bull market cycle comes along, and there may well be opportunities to buy in at even lower prices along the way.

My confidence in this coin as a sleeper coin with outsized potential remains as firm as ever.  Anonymity and untraceability will be the features that will be in highest demand as cryptocurrencies move into the mainstream, and XSPEC has that locked down in spades.

Well said!
Many of us have been warned about this looming bear market weeks in advance. I share your sentiment that we are in it's early stages.

I don't know what to say about people who play along with rumors that don't benefit them. A self fulfilling prophesy, this particular "bear market" is. You don't have to play along. You don't have to dump and drop prices and sell low just because people told you you would. This particular self imposed bear market is mass psychosis in my opinion.

I'll be only too happy to be proven wrong. I can see how my wording evoked such a reaction from you... In fact (and at the risk of sounding wishy–washy) I cringe at the thought of sheep-like "investors" who lack a focused strategy and trade on emotion and the suggestions of others.

I'm not hating on you. I just believe the future is as unpredictable as it is malleable. I think good tech is good tech and the flow of each coin should be considered individually and in timing with its own unique progress. The idea of the market being a singular force(or tied to one) doesn't feel right to me. I hope you're proven wrong too Wink BTC is hanging in there for the moment.

I think they must have gotten overlooked, because I am here often and didn't see them go by. All of them are worthy of inclusion and solid designs. I particularly like the circular ones, which would be nice to have both printed. Smiley

Austin Gorilla,

Everything you have pointed out on the website has been addressed by the devs in Slack. Have you been there? None of that has been fixed on the site because a whole new website is in the works by a community member. As far as a dev receiving btc from Livecoin: They are 100% entitled to. Mandica had complicated medical issues recently and the ICO did not yield this group anything to float on. Progress is held up precisely because there are no funds. Cashing in a little at the same time they have announced hiring a new coder, to me, does not seem fishy. Having been present for all communications within the Spectrecoin community, I am going to say your evidence doesn't sway me. EDIT: I think you're right that there's a bot. I think you're wrong about what it's doing.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XSPEC] Spectrecoin | Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor Integration on: July 07, 2017, 09:13:58 PM
Thinking out loud, I see two reasons why at this time, there are few investors in the crypto markets.
1- Bitcoin did not surpass the psychological barrier of $ 3000.
2- Your code will soon be updated, perhaps as a hard fork.
I would not try to sell at this time at any price, because buyers are simply waiting for these things.
Lowering prices is not the solution. Just wait a few days.  Smiley

So funny that 3000 is the "psychological barrier", since 2,000 was the barrier so recently. It took years to get to where we are today. What do people want?
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XSPEC] Spectrecoin | Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor Integration on: July 07, 2017, 08:29:27 PM

My only complaint is i dont think they really understand there target market .I brought up multisig and they all kinda laugh it off.I dont know how hard it would be adding a multisig option to the wallet.Since nearly all markest are going to require a multsig this day and age .It definite something they should try add are think about it at least
You can give a practical example, which is see useful for Spectrecoin, using multisig?.
I can not imagine a useful example in a truly P2P network.  Smiley

I agree with Bitman. Original comment prompted me to look a little deeper at multisig. It doesn't feel right for this coin to me, either, but I could always be missing something.

I am holding, and I am rooting for this underdog all the way. Best of luck, dev team!

Lol! You have high hopes. I have not heard anything from any devs. They are long gone. I would suggest to focus on something else. This coin is shit.

The devs have been active and communicating all along.  If you want to spread fud, maybe try Torcoin.  Their dev has actually been missing in action for about two months now, after lying to everyone for weeks about being Tor integrated.

LOL !! IT DOES NOT MATTERR!!!

THIS COIN Looks like has everything. Anon. Decentra, low volume.. blah blah. This coin should be more valuable than Monero. And still it's value is shit? LOL explain why ??

For any noobs out there: this is what it looks like when someone puts in buy orders and hits up Bitcointalk to try to shake you out. Believe me, this guy has no other motivation than to buy your coins. He gives no reasoning, because he doesn't want to undermine the long-term price, just trying to shake someone up enough to let go of some for cheap today. This happens a lot, so keep your eyes peeled for unsavory people like this. They just show up out of nowhere with nothing to add to the conversation & usually can't spell or back up their statements with facts, as evidenced above. This is a public service announcement. Let this guy take a sell order and leave his buy order alone. Hodl!
What are you talking about ? I have 50k XSPEC. I am just asking why hasn't it reached the moon ? Where are the devs? when will they deliver what they told they would 5 months back. Why don't you list some facts. And we'll see.

This coin hasn't reached whatever your "moon" is because your expectations are too high, too fast. This coin needs to mature. Join the Slack if you miss the devs being here, they are often there, where my information comes from... and chill the fud out Smiley Any reasonable person on here talking about $1 Xspec is talking about a year down the road, but anything can happen!

Its good to see people are holding and not willing to let go of this coin for too little. I think most of the people who have been acquiring XSPEC are acquiring to hold. This coin is still not well known, but for those who have researched, it is known that no other coin(no matter how they claim association with TOR) has achieved what this next update promises: Integrated TOR OBFS4 support, allowing anonymous use in TOR blocked areas.

This is serious, people.

The Android APP, following the release of V1.3 will share the same attribute. If this team can accomplish an anonymous peer-to peer remittance app that sends through obfuscated TOR in/from/to countries that seek to disrupt this very kind of thing, we're going to see a major shift in persective of XSPEC.

China, Iran, Turkey are known to block TOR and it is repeatedly proven that OBFS4 seems to work! Who may soon attempt the same measures to block TOR and already censor and practice unsavory surveillance? Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Russia, Indonesia and many more will try.

Assuming successful implementation of this technology in V1.3, we are sure to hear more about Spectrecoin in the wider world of crypto, and then, the real prize: adoption and the ability for truly anonymous transactions in internet censored countries. I am holding, and I am rooting for this underdog all the way. Best of luck, dev team!

POSv3
Native TOR implementation
TOR OBFS4 support
Dual Key signatures
Ring signatures
Stealth addresses
ZKP
Additional 'trust features' implemented in-APP

This could be a major player in the anonymous coin revolution. I say Hodl.

So in my wallet I received an incoming stake payment, but is says "Generated but not accepted". My previous incoming stakes all say "Confirmed (xxxxx confirmations)".

Is this normal? And if so, how to I "accept" the incoming stake payment?

I'm new to this wallet and coin. Thanks in advance!

I have had this issue with pos wallets before, where my internet connection was not up to snuff. I looked it up at the time and found that connectivity could be a cause.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: June 15, 2017, 09:23:33 PM
You guys are crazy.SNM tokens will be much cheaper when they will be listedd on exchange because presale investors bought them when eth was way cheaper.Wait for exchange .I bet it will be much much cheaper

There is no reason for presale investors to take anything less than what ICO investors payed, which only represents the growth they would have achieved by simply holding Ether. Why would they do that with their much smaller portion and how long could they keep the price down with it? Smart presale investors will let the ICO investors set the price.

This morning alone, a sudden influx of 37 btc has made the volume 8-10 times a daily record! Someone is taking full advantage of the dip caused by update delays and betting big on the devs to deliver! Someone has faith in this coin.

ALL ABOARD!!!
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XSPEC] Spectrecoin | Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor Integration on: May 23, 2017, 01:11:17 PM
What's the recent progress?  It's hard to hear from the dev team. And it's not clear how the project goes on and where the work locates.

It seems a long time from the late update. And they said they may have an update for solving the connection problem (e.g. for Chinese users). But there is not news after more than 1 month.

A bit disappointed, though.

According to the latest roadmap, issued just 3 weeks ago, on May 7, the Tor obfuscation you are talking about should be added by *around* June 18.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XSPEC] Spectrecoin | Untraceable Tx | Ring Signatures | Tor Integration on: May 21, 2017, 03:09:47 PM
The devs have communicated they are a few days behind on the latest updates according to the new roadmap. This is the most important update for them, as far as public perception, as they couldn't keep up with the previous roadmap. These are the first updates on the map that was made to remedy any lateness issues. Forward momentum should be apparent to all soon.
