21  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: December 20, 2017, 08:21:03 PM
Too many people in crypto and in other markets don't put the time into understanding the value offered by the asset they invest in. They just blindly follow the heard and hope for the best.
If you don't understand something, don't put your money in it. Cryptos are highly profitable right now, but only if you know what you are doing.
22  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: December 20, 2017, 08:19:08 PM
Don't follow the crowd.
Investing is a simple game, but takes a lot of time and effort. So many of the worlds best investors say this again and again yet people just don't listen...

You have to understand what you are putting your money into, and you have to fully understand the value the asset holds and its future potential.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Massive Value Play - Pearl Oyster (PRL) - New Exchanges/Funding/Volume Spike on: December 20, 2017, 07:19:39 PM
The last few days shall forever be know in history as Oyster Pearls battle of the wall.

5 Major sell walls stood before us, as a community we rallied together and have all but demolished 4 as we speak.

Now stands before us the 5th and final wall. 5 million pearl or 450 Ether high, it is the most formidable yet. To victory!

What lies beyond this final blockade? Some talk of a far away land, known in tales as 'the moon'.
All I know for sure... it is a land full of riches for all those brave enough to stand in this last fight.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: December 20, 2017, 04:19:07 PM
The constant sell of the Dev Fund for funds needed and only being on EtherDelta kept this coins price low. Now the DevFund is almost all gone and it's on Kucoin which is a fairly decent exchange. Could see this being 10 cents within a couple of weeks. And $3 in one year.

I think you're being too conservative. Price is already 6.5 cents so 10 cents is more likely as soon as the sell wall is gone, not a few weeks.
As for 3$ its anyone's guess when that could happen.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: December 20, 2017, 03:35:24 PM
I have not seen anything like PRL yesterday before. The developer called and the commmunity has answered. He has put 25 mil prl up for sale on ED. He was able to pay the bounty manager, get all the needed hardware for the project and make the other 2 developers full time. Most of those PRL from the developer fund are gone by now. The sale started yesterday afternoon...

Today listing on Kucoin which is not binance but still good and as soon as the remaining pearl from the developer fund are sold the sky is the limit. Market Cap is 2 mil at this stage and the project is not some vague idea but related to the Iota tangle.

See you all on the moon with this one!

Oh very interesting, I missed that discussion.

I can say then that I am very glad this is where the volume has gone. Good to know it will be used to secure the development of the project in the near future. I can see this being a strong community around this token, considering the level involvement at such an early stage.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: December 20, 2017, 03:29:18 PM
The sell walls are being annihilated.

I know i have sitting here watching them take blow after blow, at this rate by the end of the day they'll be gone! once 0.00009 wall is gone there's no stopping this thing! Huge profits soon!

As a matter of interest does anyone have any information on who placed these 5,000,000 PRL sell walls? They are all coming from the Ether_Delta_2 address so someone had them there and set the walls a while back I presume? Maybe devs selling a portion of their coins? Maybe a big investor in the ICO taking profit?

Anyway not long left, if you want this at bargain price you've only got today left to buy.
All aboard, train is leaving the station  Grin
27  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are your goals in 2018? on: December 20, 2017, 03:09:26 PM
new goals: make money, and lots of it.... I want to set myself up with a substantial pot of quality assets with the aim to have a regular passive income stream.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: December 19, 2017, 11:24:51 PM
Looking at the EtherDelta order book there are some significant sell walls established at price steps with about 5,000,000 tokens in each.

At current pace of trading the current sell wall should be broken down within a day, then price will push higher.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: December 19, 2017, 10:14:27 PM
Trade volume growth massive today, up to an all time high of $300k. Interest in this token starting to spread suggesting the micro market cap won't last much longer.
I have purchased significant holdings and going to hodl until at least April 2018 and the planned mainnet release.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: December 18, 2017, 05:11:18 PM
Opening this discussion on Oyster Pearl.

An alternative revenue stream for websites and a decentralised data storage network.

The network is built on IOTA using smart contracts on Ether. Is this the best of both worlds?

Still very new and only on EtherDelta, predictions for 2018?
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: VEN / VeChain will moon in December on: December 18, 2017, 08:46:51 AM
I still don't understand the masternode concept. How are they distributing it, is it a separate token and when will it be released? seems like its only useful if you are an avid member of the community.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ARN 162% increase - Binance on: December 18, 2017, 08:27:58 AM
Too many people focused on 'pumps and dumps' and 'bad cryptos'.

People need to do their research on the fundamental business models behind new tokens and coins. A sound business model with genuine usecase will cause volume on the network, increasing demand for the coin and allowing price to increase.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ARN 162% increase - Binance on: December 18, 2017, 08:14:43 AM
I am in doubt with this token. They deceived the bounty team and sold their tokens on the exchange, thereby taking all the money themselves. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2451214.0
And I do not think that their technology will be used in the future and that the team is capable of contributing something new to the aviation world
That's definitely a bad sign for a coin. I guess it's mooning just because of being pumped. The 12 mil marketcap is quite a small sum. Wait.. What I don't understand about the coin is how trading volume is a lot bigger than market capitalization. I thought the volume was always lower!
As for their project - well, I don't think there's a specific coin needed for flying on planes! And the coin is mostly for pilots, I guess, and there aren't many in the world. Moreover, the idea is to make the system less corrupted, so that only eligible pilots really fly the planes. Why would the corrupted ones support this idea?

Thats not really the idea of it. Its supposed to be an indisputable ledger of all training history of pilots and of all maintenance/miles flown of planes. So that in the event of a crash every detail is public and cannot be edited to save face.
This will allow proper and true analysis of the causes of plane crashed and allow authorities and engineers to work towards improving safety levels of flights.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ARN 162% increase - Binance on: December 18, 2017, 07:54:44 AM
I like it. It is a very interesting use case and well thought out.

The only problem I see is there is such an emphasis on lobbying authorities to use the system. It may take a while for them to convince them of its value, state agencies can be notoriously unwilling to change and slow to make decisions.

But having said that at such a low market cap this seem like a steal, ill certainly be buying some.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum on: December 17, 2017, 04:24:01 PM
Bitcoin is more reliable than Ethereum but perhaps Ethereum is valued faster. As a result, both can be preferred  Smiley

How is bitcoin more reliable than ethereum?

Both have the same issues but at least ethereum has a proper roadmap plan to solve those issue with sharding.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Trading Bot on: December 17, 2017, 03:43:44 PM
Hi to all,
I know there are a lot of bot's for trading.
my questions are:

- which is in your opinion the best environmento for building bot's? (Python, C++, ...)
- which is the best exchange to do trading with bot's? (polo, bittrex,...)
- how many BTC would you risk in a BOT? (% of the total bitcoins you have)
- which coins will you consider to trade with the bot?

many thanks!

I have payed around with bot trading for Forex but i would be weary of bitcoin. You want a market that is highly stable with little volatility so you can backtest far back and be safe in the knowledge price movements are level and predictable.

Bitcoin is volatile, effected by hype and back testing would have little use.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA is the next big thing on: December 17, 2017, 03:32:48 PM
There needs to be a real world use case to prove the technology. Why do you think Ethereum began to do so well, the launching of so many succesful Dapps has been a real proving of its usefullness.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Huge Altcoin rally underway on: December 17, 2017, 03:13:59 PM
Cannot help notice how the total crypto market cap is up over $100 billion in just last two or three days.
Most coins are up big. Do not know what is the reason of this big rise now but it  feels good Smiley

The recent interest generated by bitcoin is spilling over into other digital assets.

A lot of people on this forum have over the last few days have been saying 'we are not seeing a bull market yet', absolute lies we are in the midst of one, should be good profits for all early investors.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XVG] Verge - Speculation & Discussion on: December 17, 2017, 01:57:15 PM
This is crazy. seems to be no logic in the market anymore. As some people are saying the management of this coin is all over the place yet somehow this happens. Market looks t be entering a chaos phase, hope it doesn't burst...
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SHIFT broke new ATH - $4 on: December 17, 2017, 01:30:00 PM
This one will explode: $8.5 absolute minimum before EOY.

Im not sure that it will. Currently only way to buy SHIFT is through bittrex and livecoin.

Bittrex have halted applications for new users due to huge demand which they can't keep up with.

livecoin is less trusted and therefore less people will sign up through it.

This coin needs listings on new exchanges if it is to boom.
