21  Economy / Gambling / Re: GBBG Bitcoin Fund on: April 25, 2013, 12:16:42 PM
I was just in the member area and down the bottom corner I found this

GBBG Fund
NAV/Share

0.26124492 BTC
$18.55 USD

Remember each share costs 0.25 BTC
I spose just because I didn't know about NAV, doesn't mean GBBG didn't.

It is down in the footer which I don't normally look that far down so others may have missed it as well. Not sure how long it has been there.
Oh how convenient! Cheesy

And is entirely made up, because most of the 0.25 BTC goes to pay affiliates anyway.

Really, you must be talking about some other program because NONE of the 0.25 goes to pay affiliates.

Just goes to show how your mind works. In a ponzi it probably would but that is all you can think of. This is a fund, there are no commissions to anyone, GBBG charge 2% on shares purchased, 0% on Shares sold.

Then why do people have referral links Smiley

You have not taken any notice of what the whole concept is have you...The GBBG Fund is one part of a bigger network. The referral link is to do with the bigger network, but all members can take part in the GBBG Fund. So you would just have to apply for membership then you could take part. It does not cost anything to do that. Obviously it costs to get shares in the fund though.

110 bitcoins in fund if worth $160 each with them charging 2% for deposits nets the fund = $352
Assuming twice that has gone in and half withdrawn = $700 in deposit fee income

So where do they make money? Donations?
Not too mention having some fund hold your bitcoin investments
22  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase cancellation issues are NOT resolved. on: April 24, 2013, 01:34:17 PM
Since they cancelled by April 19th order today (deliver day) with no reason given yet I hope they do eventually come thru and fill my order like I have seen the do for others posting here in the forum.
23  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Coinbase Warning !!! (Revisited, Somewhat Resolved) on: April 24, 2013, 01:31:59 PM
My April 19th order for 2 BTC was supposed to deliver today but checking on status by logging in I now find it cancelled. Never got an email from this about cancelling my order. No reason yet. I emailed them and awaiting an answer. This is first transaction after being verified.
24  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinbase Canceled My Order: Price jumped $28 - $48 (SOLVED: COINBASE HONORABLE) on: April 24, 2013, 01:25:15 PM
Sorry for bumping an old thread, but has anyone else had this happen to them?  I recently bought quite a few BTC when the price bottomed out a few days ago and right when I was expecting to get my coins deposited, I received the same email the OP got.  I've sent their customer service an email letting them know about their mistake and that there's no risk (given what BTC are currently going for, it'd be crazy of me to want to reverse the transaction), but no response yet.  How long does it normally take for the Coinbase people to respond to emails, and is there any chance my order actually will go through at the original price?

Thanks!

Placed an order for 2 BTC April 19th with deliver expected today. Did not get an email. Logged in to check on status and find

"You purchased 2.00 BTC   show   Canceled   Apr 19, 2013"

Cancelled!? Why? Because price went up? I emailed them and waiting to here back. Geez

We need to see what we can do to protect ourselves from bitcoin sites shutting down.

28  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Offering PayPal for Bitcoin? You're likely to be labeled a scammer - Read why on: April 21, 2013, 11:30:55 AM
2 weeks ago I was able to buy my first bitcoin with PayPal from an ad on https://localbitcoins.com/
I had to have a FUNDED and confirmed PayPal account.
I went to Walmart and got a MoneyPak (fee) and deposited into PayPal.
It was a little confusing but got my bitcoin same day.
Now I need to see how much it actually cost me over exchange rate.

I had to Google why I could not reply here and NOW I know I need to log 4 hours reading first, or post to newbie threads. But this forum sure appears to be THE place for discussing bitcoin.
