21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Gnosis on: June 09, 2017, 03:03:00 AM
Hi.

How to mining GNO or what?

It is not mineable, everything was distributted during the ICO where due to the terms of sale the majority was kept by the founders instead of the funders.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Me No to Ripple on: June 09, 2017, 03:01:31 AM
Does ripple work the same as blockchains?
I know it is a distributed ledger, but it's not a blockchain

Kind of, its like a centralised blockchain more or less controlled by ripple. It works on consensus by the nodes instead of PoW or PoS.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tell me your thoughts on STRATIS on: June 09, 2017, 02:59:44 AM
Lots of people from the community tells me to buy and store it. But I don't really trust this altcoin. The future project they claim that they will realize is just weird to me.

Well being that they are about to release a trustless bitcoin tumbler that alone makes it worth its current price in addition to everything else they are working on. I see the price rising quite a bit in the future.
24  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest your bitcoins. on: June 09, 2017, 02:58:08 AM
I would suggest investing in bittrex. I started recently and it's awesome! You can multiply your BTC in it alot... Though you must not be a noob-trader though  Undecided
I suggest that Bittrex as well. Bittrex is alright though I would check CoinMarketCap before making an investment on that website because the price of the spread could be much different than how you would see it on another Bitcoin exchange.
Other than that, Bittrex is an alright website to trade at.

I don't like the UI on bittrex but the site itself is the smoothest of all the larger exchanges and I suspect a lot of people from poloniex will flock to them during their troubles.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: i think bitcoin will not be common for small transcitions on: June 09, 2017, 02:56:02 AM
It's not going up because of the price rise. It's going up because blocks are full. If they aren't full you could pay a tiny fee and a miner would pick it up. That's why bitcoins were great. Right now we're kind of stuck until UASF comes into play.

But what are the chances of UASF actually working because as far as I know its pretty much a useless effort unless the major exchanges adopt it and they won't risk their business over bitcoin politics.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will the price of Dogecoin be by the year 2020? on: June 09, 2017, 02:48:58 AM
It's still 2017.  Who cares?  Live in the moment.  The future is not guaranteed.

Well none of us would have made big money in crypto if we didn't at least have some foresight but I get what you are saying, there are too many unknown variables especially to think so many years ahead.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cash is better than Bitcoin. on: June 08, 2017, 01:36:21 AM
Why Cash is better than Bitcoin?
Well the fact speak is cash not decreasing in price while bitcoin experience it. This is why cash is better.
Even cash decreasing its value also. I think that people might be prefer to use cash than bitcoin its because they can see it clearly and properly they can hold it and touch it. We cannot command them to do what they need to choose.
I do not think that many people will like to prefer cash because with cash they will not be able to hide them in their houses and they will need a third party like banks to hide them from robbers while for bitcoin they will not need any bank for hiding and securing them as no one can find that how much bitcoin is with a person.

For day to day spending cash is much better but you are right for sizeable savings its either a bank or some form of investment of which most of us here have chosen bitcoin. Inflation also doesn't matter for those few hundred dollars in your pocket.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I Bought 100 FCT (Factom) on: June 08, 2017, 01:34:05 AM
I have waited long enough, this thing is going to go to 1Bil Market Cap easy. I've been researching the project and it screams a top 10 coin to me. From bottom to top it is a strong entry into the crypto space. Low coin supply, innovative tech and gorgeous website. What am I missing here? I could've bought a bunch at 6$ but I didn't research.

https://medium.com/@maxmiddelman/factom-is-awesome-and-this-is-why-c3c4780211db

https://www.factom.com/

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/factom/

1 Bil marketcap would mean it going up 4 times its current price. What kind of timeframe do you see that happening in?
29  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: transaction fee so high? on: June 08, 2017, 01:32:40 AM
There are currently too many transactions for the network to handle so its meant that the only way to push your transaction through is with a high fee. It is a problem that has been well discussed and the main problem is no one can agree on which of several possible solutions to adopt.

As for now the only choice you have is to spend the high fees. Normally fees are calculated based on the number of bytes in your transaction so if you received many small amounts of btc on that address the fee will get much higher. The fees you listed sound about average for a normal transaction.
30  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What would you like to buy? on: June 08, 2017, 01:30:12 AM
I'm gonna buy some clothes and some foods like pizza.Still looking for a pizza parlor that offers pizza for bitcoins and delivers it right at your doorstep. There are also few shops that offers their products for bitcoins.Or you can convert your bitcoins to fiat money for easier shopping. Grin

After the most famous bitcoin purchase was made for pizza we still don't see bitcoin as a widely used option to buy food delivery, I get that the transaction fees are high and all but I would have thought this is exactly the type of thing most people would want to spend their bitcoins on if transacting directly.
31  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Go to Land Based Casinos? on: June 07, 2017, 02:11:40 PM
Do you gamble at land based casinos?
It is very seldom for me to gamble at land based casino. I just went there together with my friends but not alone.
Because it is much fun and better to go there with your close friends and play there in casinos.
Well, it could be boring knowing that you are playing alone and don't know any of the people there. I think you could earn a lot in a land based casino but definitely, has a higher edge and that's going to make you bankrupt if you didn't set a limit. It's more enjoyable when you are at a land-based casino instead of just clicking a mouse and hope that things would be positive.

You never "earn" in a casino, you gamble on the volatility. That being said the end result is the same whether its a landbased casino or an online one, the house always wins. So the way I see it, if I'm paying for this gambling service I want to have the best experience possible and as you say its quite boring clicking a mouse when you gamble. Going to casinos is about the experience of it, and the house edge isn't that insane on most games anyway.
32  Economy / Speculation / Re: There's nothing to worry about... Just HoDL! on: May 26, 2017, 03:47:48 AM
Just to express my opinion that the recent drop in the price of Bitcoin is nothing to worry about. It was expected, it happened, and we shall soon be moving on to new heights. I see this as a healthy growth, a bumpy uphill road to the top. See the daily chart below (you'll need to click the link for now, because I'm a newbie):

As you can see, a similar drop occurred in the first half of May. See the similarities. I guess (and hope) that the price of Bitcoin will very soon start rising again. As for me, I'm HoDLing all the way, with all my coins safely kept in cold storage, and I suggest you do the same.

Everyone thinks a bubble has crashed with every little dip. Bitcoin hasn't gone up nearly as much percentage wise as it did in previous bullruns, and those previous bullruns all had small corrections like this one. We are still only in possibly an early stage of a bubble (if it keeps rising so fast), but more likely we will see smaller gains and sideways movement for a while before the next pump.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My Portfolio on: May 26, 2017, 03:46:10 AM
My top coins are:

for stability:

Ethereum
Bitcoin

for big growth and new innovation (but volatile):

Aragon (ICO)
Stratis
Wetrust (ICO)
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins in 2020 on: May 26, 2017, 03:44:14 AM
Which altcoins do you think will see year 2020 with prosperity and why they will survive?

I think following will be there

1) Ripple / because of its application in banking use
2) Ether / because its smart contracts and scripting functionality
3) Dash / Instant send and private send

Ripple isn't really used by banks, only their blockchain is used but not the currency, so I think it will die out in the long term. I think Ether has the most potential of the three you listed, its not only the first coin with smart contracts but its already linked to multiple other tokens that were created on it which all have value.

Finally I think in 2020 coins that have not even been released will win out, the innovation in the cryptoworld will continue and while several coins we see now will be big the best and biggest ones will be the newcomers that really improve upon the world.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bubble Bursting or Just a Short Term Correction? on: May 26, 2017, 03:40:31 AM
The markets have gone up a lot but not as much as they have in the past before a crash, I think this is just a correction and a bigger crash will likely happen in a few months time. The thing is there is still so much new money flowing in to both bitcoin and alts, people are still waiting in line to pour money into exchanges who can't verify their identities. Until this flow of money dries up the crypto market will still be in long term bull mode even if there are corrections along the way.
36  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you place all your funds into bitcoin? on: May 26, 2017, 03:37:24 AM
I am thinking .. to put all my money in bitcoin what do you think? is it a good way to grow my money? or it is risky or.. ?
No it's not. Every investment that you put all of your money should be considered as risky. You can also invest in altcoins so you don't rely on one market only. Also, don't invest all of your money in investment but save most of your money either in bank/in your wallet/piggy bank.

Yeah never invest what you can't afford to lose particularly in something as volatile as bitcoin. However I disagree that you should save most of your money in the bank, you get very little from those savings and it won't help you achieve long term goals. Only save what you expect to need in the new few years invest the rest, whether that be in bitcoin or in stocks, real estate etc.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If you have now 500$ for invest? Where you invest? on: May 26, 2017, 03:35:28 AM
Invest in ICO's, look for ones with revolutionary ideas. Things like ETH, bitcoin etc have already pumped so while they may go higher in the next 1-2 years they won't go up 100x or 1000x like some of the promising ICO's will. For me in particular I like Aragon because they will revolutionize how companies operate in this globalized world.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lets see how many of you are buying this time? on: May 26, 2017, 03:29:38 AM
I buy bitcoin in chunks every so often, there is no such thing as high or low price if you are thinking for the long term. Unless you are a day trader people should stop thinking about buying low and selling high because 99% of people will just get burned by this.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Well, I've been a Segwit supporter for a while now but... on: May 26, 2017, 03:28:10 AM
Where's the effort to compromise? Sorry, but capacity is getting too high. A revamp of the HK agreement would be nice, but now I'm even leaning toward segwit+2mb proposal since core/blockstream aren't willing to budge or talk (AFAIK), or perhaps event thinking blocksize increase sans Segwit is the best way to go. This impasse is ridiculous and unnecessary. I used to think small blocks were better but after doing plenty of research I found out that the risks are way overstated. Imagine we could have bitcoin with big blocks and soon with RSK and sidechains Bitcoin will be incredible.

I couldn't agree more, segwit + 2mb would effectively quadruple the blocksize and fix the problems we are having now for the foreseeable future. A doubling of the block size isn't going to ruin bitcoin anymore than blocks from 500kb to 1mb would. I understand people are afraid of 8 mb or higher blocksizes but 2 mb is an acceptable compromise while further negotiations for more permanent solutions can be found.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: May 26, 2017, 03:25:39 AM
Do you think the richest families or personalities in the world would be interested in using bitcoins??
And if so, would that be a good thing for us small people or negative??
I mean rich people are capabale of so much things, so it makes me wonder..

I know some rich people here in our country that has interest in bitcoin, I think when wealthy people see opportunity for them to get rich they grab it. Bitcoin has great potential, And for them its $$$, so i guess is possible for some rich people to get involved in bitcoin.
what if the rich people doesnt hve the interest because its too volatile, rich people is smart and not that fool, they will have a consult with the expert

They will not invest all their money in it, all smart rich people have a diversified portfolio. Bitcoin provides diversification and having 1-5% of your billion or million dollar wealth you won't even notice the volatility, but when your traditional markets fall its likely bitcoin will increase so bitcoin acts to stabilize the losses from everything else. Many experts have said this.
