21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta has bn hacked on: December 21, 2017, 09:51:30 PM
So how did this all pan out? Safe again? Glad I was away during this, hopefully I wasn't affected!

Still not over yet and even when EtherDelta is up and running again they will have to put a lot of effort into convincing people that it's safe to trade there.

They do have the advantage that there isn't really anywhere else for people to trade such a variety of ERC20 tokens but security should be the priority. And now everyone should know that they must only trade on EtherDelta if they are using either MetaMask or the even safer option of BLUE chrome extension.

Either of those options would have prevented user's private keys being compromised even if the user had attempted trading on the fake EtherDelta site.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Facebook About To Integrate Litecoin As A Payment System...? on: December 21, 2017, 06:57:11 PM
Mark, the owner of facebook has said a lot of times that he doesn't like anything who is related to cryptocurrencies, so i really doubt that he would really integrate litecoin as a payment system in there.

They are only accepting credit cards and paypal if i am not wrong, and yes, bankwire transfers too.

Maybe Zuckerberg has been reading into Amazon's interest in cryptos and doesn't want to be outmanoeuvred by a rival tech company. It just takes one of them to blink first and then the others will be forced to look at how it can improve their businesses. Even if this Litecoin story isn't true the issue is still relevant and will be one to watch in 2018.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta has bn hacked on: December 21, 2017, 06:51:40 PM
i lost all my ethereum in my etherdelta account i dont know what to do now Angry this will affect very badly on crypto world

Oh my, I hope is not a lot! I have just a little bit and did not use it today but is scary. Etherdelta was the one exchange that let you hold keys but even that is not enouhg

I am also very upset. It seemed to me that this is the most reliable exchange. But now I do not know which exchanger to trust. Etherdelta should now improve its security

As crypto investors we have to take personal responsibility for our security. This is proven by the latest EtherDelta hack as well as many other exchange/wallet hacks before this.

We simply cannot rely on exchanges alone to protect us.

For example, nobody should be leaving their funds on EtherDelta but after this hack it has become apparent that many people are still doing this.

Anyone who went through the simple process of setting up either MetaMask or the BLUE chrome extension would have kept their tokens safe from these ED hackers. We need to promote education and personal responsibility otherwise fear of getting hacked will keep mainstream money away from crypto.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta has bn hacked on: December 21, 2017, 06:43:41 PM
It is a very responsible move by our community members to immediately share the news of the hack. There are unfortunate few who have lost their coins. But many were saved thanks to the active spreading about the hacking.

Please keep yourself safe from logging into etherdelta. Why even enter when there is a serious, clear and confirmed threat? There are people who feel that the threat would have been abated by now since its been quite a while. But that would be most foolish. Until the website officially confirms that the threat and hacker has been countered, please do not access the site. Further, please wait for any other safety measure that the site announces for its members. To leave the site untouched for some days will be the wisest act. Curiosity kills the cat, remember.

This is a serious problem that we face in the crypto world. A solid protection should be provided for our wallets. As far as etherdelta is concerned, the ones who lost coins have been put to great misery. We need to further build our measures. We also.need to find ways to trace these hackers. Not only here but until things get streamlined, which might take few years from now, let us be extremely careful and cautious with all crypto sites and wallets.

Ethereum BLUE goes a lot further than any other security project to address the issues you've raised. I am an investor in their coin (but not a team member or dev) and I think they are going to be the future of Crypto security.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is Facebook About To Integrate Litecoin As A Payment System...? on: December 21, 2017, 06:37:42 PM
This is a very speculative article but the argument does make sense. There's also some good commentary in the Reddit thread.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-21/why-charlie-lee-sold-his-litecoin

https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/7l9ebm/rumor_zerohedge_is_calling_the_surprise_facebook/

Firstly, we all know that Litecoin is a much better option for fast, cheap, everyday transactions when compared to BTC.

Secondly, crypto is becoming too big to ignore and at some point one of the biggest companies on the planet will make the first move and offer some form of crypto integration into their products and services.

The ZeroHedge article suggests that Charlie Lee cashing out his LTC holdings would be a pre-requisite to Facebook partnering with them and this also makes perfect sense.

Also, as one Redditor points out, FB could save a huge amount on transaction fees by using LTC as opposed to USD.

Either way, it's never been a better time to be an LTC hodler!
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta has bn hacked on: December 21, 2017, 06:20:00 PM
and guys is it finished now? when can i get my tokens out of ether delta?

You can move your tokens out of EtherDelta but don't attempt to log into the site as it isn't safe yet.

I would recommend joining the Ethereum Blue Telegram group and reading their pinned post which gives step-by-step instructions on how to move your tokens out of EtherDelta. The admins and members are really helpful and you'll learn a lot about crypto security.

https://t.co/RoxhCbc3ku (BLUE Telegram link)

I would also strongly suggest using either MetaMask or the BLUE chrome extension in conjunction with EtherDelta in future as they will both prevent your private key from being exposed to EtherDelta and protect you from situations such as this ED hack.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening Now! Etherdelta, Youbit got hacked! My All money gone? on: December 21, 2017, 06:07:57 PM
We really are not safe and these guys dashed out with a whole lot of funds. A lot of people who did not quickly get the news ended up being a victim and over $6000 worth of hard earned tokens and some Ether went into some scammers account. Really a sorry and devastating case.

I feel sorry for the ones who may have done a quick bit of buying/selling on ED yesterday, not realised they've been phished and then set off on journeys to be with family over Christmas and New Year. They might not have the intention to come online for several days so imagine their reaction when they find out.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening Now! Etherdelta, Youbit got hacked! My All money gone? on: December 21, 2017, 06:03:28 PM
Does it mean we lost our tokens that on on ED wallets? Is there any update? Or it just DNS got hacked not wallets?

DNS got hacked which means the hackers were able to put up a fake ED site on the real ED domain. Anyone who was trading without MetaMask or BLUE chrome extension would have entered their private key into the fake site and the hackers would then be able to steal everything in that wallet.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening Now! Etherdelta, Youbit got hacked! My All money gone? on: December 21, 2017, 06:00:16 PM
Does it mean we lost our tokens that on on ED wallets? Is there any update? Or it just DNS got hacked not wallets?

If you are using MetaMask or the BLUE chrome extension then you will be ok. If you are using MyEtherWallet or entering your private keys directly into EtherDelta then your funds are at risk so you need to get them off EtherDelta as soon as possible BUT DO NOT LOG IN TO ETHERDELTA!

You can get step-by-step instructions on how to move your funds without logging into EtherDelta by joining the Ethereum Blue Telegram group:

https://t.co/RoxhCbc3ku

So far they have given the best advice on how to deal with the EtherDelta hack and they've already helped lots of people to safely move their funds out of ED.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: etherdelta.com DNS hacked, do not use it!! on: December 21, 2017, 05:35:57 PM
They just stated that DNS server is hacked, not sure that the database was stolen or not. Anyway if you use Metamask I assume that your private keys are secured. Hope ED will recove from this attack, there's no alternative for selling tokens by contact address.

I've been looking forward to IDEX launching as it has better technology than EtherDelta but it would be interesting to know if it gives you the ability to trade contract addresses. I'll send them an email and see what they say.

Etherdelta has bn hacked... If you have your fund there... Do not attempt to remove them... The attackers will gain access into your wallet.. And steal all your funds

To check your current holdings on ED use https://deltabalances.github.io

Hackers wallet getting filled up

https://etherscan.io/address/0x3f8a37bde9b15b65c82f9cdd00192e0ba36cc5fc

Watch this video tutorial on how to withdraw your funds from etherdelta without going into the site
https://youtu.be/slru097RrfM

I think this is an unusual case, with his hack Etherdelta has so many people who lost their coin. thanks for sharing information and hopefully our coin balance in Etherdelta is not stolen

What's really unusual is that rather than just throwing up a fake site, these hackers have managed to get access to the EtherDelta DNS servers and put a phishing site on the real EtherDelta domain. Think about that for a minute.

Tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands of people may have logged on in that time without being able to tell the difference and ended up handing over their private keys to the hackers.

You are entitled to think that if you use ED through a bookmarked link that you've always used then you'll be safe but even that wouldn't protect you in this instance.

Also, etherscan.io seems to be having some SSL issues so please avoid for now.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Etherdelta my favourite on: December 21, 2017, 05:06:10 PM
Guys, EtherDelta has been hacked as of yesterday. Their DNS servers were hacked so the scammers put up a fake site and stole the private keys of people who sign into EtherDelta directly.

This is worse than the usual fake sites because this time the fake site was published on the real EtherDelta.com domain. So even if you visited the site from a bookmark which you thought was safe, you may still be affected.

Nobody should log into the ED site until it has been given the all clear and even then you may need to take additional steps to ensure your tokens don't get stolen. Please see my signature for more info (I'm a supporter of BLUE, not a member of the team).
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / EtherDelta Hack. What To Do If You Have Funds On ED. on: December 21, 2017, 04:56:27 PM
For those who aren't yet aware, EtherDelta's DNS servers were hacked yesterday (20th December 2017). This means that hackers were able to put up a fake site on the real etherdelta.com domain so anyone who used the site in that time (even those who only visit the site from a bookmarked link) may have given their private keys to the hackers, who have then gone on to empty those wallets.

If you use MetaMask or the BLUE Chrome extension then your tokens are safe.

But if you use EtherDelta or MEW without MetaMask or the BLUE Chrome Extension by entering your private key directly then you need to take action as soon as possible.

PLEASE DO NOT LOG INTO ETHERDELTA AS THE SITE IS STILL VULNERABLE. ETHERSCAN.IO IS ALSO HAVING SSL ISSUES SO PROBABLY BEST TO AVOID IT

Right now the best thing you can do is to join the Telegram group for Ethereum Blue at this link:

https://t.co/RoxhCbc3ku

Once you enter, you will find a pinned post which has step-by-step instructions on how to move your funds out of EtherDelta without logging in to the site. The devs and admins in that group have stated that they are ready to help every single person who has funds stuck in EtherDelta.

There's no charge for this and there are some genuinely helpful people in that group so you can ask questions if you are unsure about anything. I'm also happy to answer questions in this thread and will try my best to provide updates on the situation.

Full Disclosure: I am NOT a developer or admin in that group but I am an investor in the BLUE token. I'm sure there are many people who may have funds in EtherDelta which will come in useful over the Christmas/New Year period so please help to spread the word to people who need help with this EtherDelta hack. It won't cost them anything and hopefully we can all learn some lessons going forward.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta has bn hacked on: December 21, 2017, 03:13:01 PM
I never thought it could happen. I think etherdelta has good security so it can not be hacked. some users who keep altcoins there experience a loss of coin. I hope etherdelta be fine.

Etherdelta will be fine and maybe they're already up and secured today, who knows!
Developers won't let that happen because Cryptocurrencies are totally secure and safe and so as cryptocurrency exchange like Etherdelta.

Probably best to wait for official confirmation before logging in though. It will be interesting to see how they manage their reputation after this because people will want to know how this happened.

This could also be a great opportunity for up and coming decentralised exchanges such as IDEX.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta has bn hacked on: December 21, 2017, 03:10:33 PM
Wait a minute, are people really not getting this news already? Last time I checked that account was filled with a worth of $1000 plus ERC20 tokens and now it is over $6000 and those are just stolen tokens, let alone ETH. This is getting crazy and I hope something is done urgently.

I don't think it's been 24 hours yet so there must be a lot of people who aren't active on Twitter or maybe they're just hodling and don't feel like checking into EtherDelta every day.

Also, the timing of the hack means that loads of people will be travelling to be with family for Christmas so they might not be aware even for another few days yet.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta has bn hacked on: December 21, 2017, 02:44:20 PM
Stay away from Ether Delta though. There is something funny about those dudes in charge anyway. I seen them list coins on their exchange that are clear scams meant to confuse and manipulate people. A respectable exchange wouldn't list those coins.

I don't think the maintainers should be gatekeepers on a decentralized exchange. Because then you turn it into a centralized exchange. Maybe not technically, but in terms of power.

Yes, agreed. If we want true decentralisation and all the associated benefits then we have to accept exposure to shitcoins and hope the market treats them accordingly. Although that will depend on investor education and having trusted institutions to call out scam coins when they see them (Ethereum Blue does exactly that so please feel free to check them out)
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ⚽ XFCCOIN ▐ Fantasy Football Manager Revolution!▐ In-Game Maket is open ⚽ on: December 20, 2017, 12:26:30 AM
The upgrade of the gaming platform will take a little bit longer but we are confident that everything will be in place before the end of Q1 of 2018.

So it'll be ready by march 31, 2018? Ugh You guys really need to put some of that btc to use, hire some competent developers and just get this done already.

" At this point we are ready with the blockchain implementation, with the SPV wallet for XFC (for the assets the SPV wallet will be only ready in the first quarter of 2018), the in-game wallets are ready including the assets part. We are waiting that the blockchain, that is integrated both in the game and in the exchange, is delivered to us, together with the DigitalTokens exchange.
The upgrade of the gaming platform will take a little bit longer but we are confident that everything will be in place before the end of Q1 of 2018. I can tell you the new team is doing a great job and the improvements will take your breath away.
The Android mobile app will also be ready before the end of Q1 "

That's the full paragraph from Octa.

The majority of what is he talking about with regard to the end of Q1 is to do with gameplay. SPV wallet for in-game assets, Android mobile app and upgrading the gaming platform.

This isn't a big issue because the game is already enjoyable and works fine.

The new blockchain and internal exchange should be ready much sooner. It's obvious that ANX are taking longer than expected but there's not much more that FootballCoin devs can do about that other than keep asking them for updates.

Which is the same us investors have been doing to the FootballCoin devs.

It's also important to note that Octa says external exchanges have already been applied for so at least that process is underway and will allow trading of XFC.

I don't think we're going to get one specific day where every single part of this project is launched at the same time and we all become instant millionaires.

It looks like the blockchain and exchange will be released first, followed by listing on external exchanges, and eventually upgraded gameplay.

Hopefully we will see a gradual increase in the value of XFC as these goals are met.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ELITE] Ethereum Lite | FIRST ETHEREUM CURRENCY | LOW SUPPLY | YOBIT | CMC on: December 19, 2017, 11:55:04 PM
wow this thread is still active, knowing that this was a scam and dev used a fast exit strategy...

hope people did not get burned a lot ><"

What's even worse is that people are still mistakenly buying this coin instead of ELYTE. This is mainly because ELYTE hasn't been listed on EtherDelta yet whereas the scam coin ELITE is still listed there.

Hopefully soon EtherDelta will listen to the community and delete ELITE so more people don't accidentally buy it.

ELYTE can be traded on EtherDelta already by using the contract address:

https://etherdelta.com/#0x05d379b48a8622ae4018309e116420db4a38a225-ETH

Once it is officially listed in the next few days, we will be able to find ELYTE in the dropdown menu of EtherDelta.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ELITE] Ethereum Lite | FIRST ETHEREUM CURRENCY | LOW SUPPLY | YOBIT | CMC on: December 18, 2017, 03:32:44 PM
I think it wasn't cool that enough time wasn't given for ELITE holders to be able to join the swap, now they're gonna be saying we should go buy ELYT and if it turns out another scam then we're the losers?  Undecided

People were given one week to claim their ELYTE. That isn't a huge amount of time but it's reasonable to expect that most people would check this thread at least once in 7 days when you consider that it was such a critical time in the future of ELITE. Many posts had already been made so people would have had plenty of opportunity to know that they should keep an eye on this thread before the deadline was even announced.

The deadline was necessary so that there could be an end point for ELITE and a starting point for ELYTE.

ELYTE is still very cheap to buy as it hasn't been listed on CoinMarketCap yet and is still unofficially listed on EtherDelta (this means the name doesn't appear in the dropdown menu yet but you can still trade it via the smart contract address below)

https://etherdelta.com/#0x05d379b48a8622ae4018309e116420db4a38a225-ETH

You can check out the ELYTE whitepaper at www.elyte.biz where you'll see visible team profiles (unlike the scammers of ELITE) so you can be confident that this project will last and you can invest in it.

Welcome,
does anyone want to join me? I'm about to prepare lawsuit against footballcoin. I invested 10 BTC into that coin and after almost half a year they still keep repeating the same mantra "soon".  My patience is over. They didn't even add exchange. I changed my 10 BTC into useless shitcoin, that i can't even sell, because there is no exchange and those guys're probably swimming on panama for my money. It's pure scam, like onecoin

Did you read the last few pages of this thread before you posted?

Your frustration would be understandable a week ago but in the last few days we've had a lot of new information which shows that FootballCoin isn't a scam.

We've confirmed that the majority of ICO funds are still in place (other than what was spent on building a new blockchain), the website has been updated, we've seen glimpses of the new internal exchange and Octa has confirmed which external exchanges have been applied for.

I would urge you to read the last 3 pages of this thread to get yourself up to date.
