Granted i'm very green still to the mining side. If you're correct, then what exactly is this? Seems a lot like a "banking" style fee. Would appreciate figuring out if i'm just dumb, or something is going on.

Mind sharing the TX ID or your public BTC address? These don't look like transactions from Kano's pool at all.

Are you sending mining proceeds to a 3rd party wallet that then sends you 0.01 BTC once you've accumulated that much from mining?

Never stated that it was from Kano pool. I don't want to share the txid/add for obvious reasons.

Its a simple payout threshold on slush. It doesn't appear I'm paying those fees, but I have no idea what that is. The excel doc is generated through trezors interface.

All this mystery aside, I would still love to see a payout threshold on kano to avoid having to consolidate as often. Luckily right now fees are more or less negligible but down the road this could proof to be more than just a minor nuisance. I still argue that development to make the website and UI more user friendly is a very worthwhile venture for the future of this pool.

Kano, what is the status on setting a minimum payout threshold?

I want to come back, but paying the fees for all those small transactions add up fast. Having a payout minimum setting would help the miners out a lot

Consolidating a bunch of small transactions into one large transaction is simple and cheap these days.

Was just going through my trezor wallet mining payments. I had my pool settings for .01 payouts, and have been paying an average of .002-.003 per payout. Multiply this by smaller, more often payouts from kano pool and this will be very significant. These are client side(yes you don't pay for the tx on the mining end but you do on the wallet side, and unavoidable as far as I know of.

5 month lead time vs 2(at time of initial purchase) 3 months per s9 mid/late jan to april is roughly .08btc
Underperforming and Less efficient(big deal)
Only capable of mining on two pools(last minute surprise, effects customers choice)

I'm sure theres more. I wouldn't be pleased with the stats considering the lead time and excessive electric use. Running a 1600 watt psu at 100% capacity is not really the best idea either.
26  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: April 14, 2018, 04:31:01 AM
Hmmmm

Is there any reason why the halong youtube demo in Nov 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftA_q4arSPY  showed 1460 watts on the watt meter @ 16.2 TH then?

Technically you can't be sure the miner shown is the one they showed on slush. Would be super shady, but very easy.
27  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Installing 10x dedicated 50amp outlets - $8000 reasonable ? on: April 13, 2018, 09:56:45 PM
I need to get this done at a new location in WA. This was a quote from my first electrician. The outlets are installed within 10-15 feet from the breaker box. Electrician provides conduits, wiring, breakers and labor. I bought the outlets and outlet boxes myself

Job Description: $7,350.00 + sales tax = $8000

Provide labor and materials to install (10) dedicated 50 amp circuits to the upstairs space from the
panel to dedicated outlets. All work will be in 3/4 inch and 1/2 EMT surface mounted to the sheet
rock. Owner will provide the outlets.

has anyone done something similar at this price ? or should i continue shopping around ? $8000 seems a tad high considering parts would not even reach $500

Thanks!!

That is a RIPOFF for anywhere outside of Manhattan (NYC).

Get more quotes.

30 amp outlets make sense because most PDUs are designed to run from a 30 amp outlet.

Gotcha. I also agree that pricing is insane. 30amps only lets you run 3 s9s/equiv while 40 lets you run four. I've found a fair few pdus that can handle that load. TO be fair, I've not weighed out the cost of the different outlets etc, and it may make more sense to run more with less optimal setup than less outlets with better "efficiency" outlet wise.

If anyone running 2 s9s wants to share some numbers for the past 30 days with me to compare with slush let me know. Kano pool had a banging march, and I'd like to compare that vs. the tortoise that is slush.

Minergain has the numbers you are looking for.  Just take his Coins per Day (CPD) numbers and multiply it by your total TH/s for each pool and you will see all! Cheesy

https://www.minergain.com/

Minergains numbers are often very wrong. I'm well aware of the website.

I'm sure he'll be grateful if you help point out the errors made.

FWIW my last 15 days (10 S9's, fully ramped up) come to 0.22084325 15 day total, 0.01472288333 per day average, or 0.001472288334 for 1 S9

For the past 30 days I've been ramping up - so the numbers come up to : 0.41858057 30 day total, 0.01395268567 per day average, 0.001395268567 for 1 S9

All my S9's are the 13.5TH/s model

Quoting to save for later and fully comment; this is good information.

As to minergain being off, I would help where I could, but I don't know why his numbers are often incorrect. My guess is that he uses a very small snapshot to make the calculations and that throws things off quite a bit.

Can I ask why you went with 30 amp outlets? 30 just seems like a bad number to use, I'm curious if there is something I don't know.

Bahaha.

I HATE MYSELF!!!!!

I did the math, and I would have made about .05096272008 BTC  MORE here than at that other place that starts with the same letter as Snake!

With 6 S9's here, would have been .0085 per day, and at the Snake place was .00637655 per day ( Real numbers )  Feb 25 to Mar 21

Please forgive me.. I doubted the system.  I just couldn't handle the long February.   Sad  Its over now!

One good month and one bad month =?

Do the math my friend! If it always is expected to be 100% than the math difference in earnings should be roughly 1.1%(fee diff) over time, with consistency in favor of the other guys.
34  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Has Bitcoin mining ever been so unprofitable? on: March 20, 2018, 05:22:09 PM
The best way to calculate for me, seems to be to take btc invested to purchase equipment and use that to find your ROI based on total btc. Many miners use btc to buy their equipment so its fairly simple to go back and look at btc bought vs. earned. If you spent .5 btc on equip, when will you reach that to ROI? Its a bit more easy and fair imo, than to use pricing as that fluctuates so much and a hundred dollars last year is a tenth of what it is this year.
35  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Has Bitcoin mining ever been so unprofitable? on: March 19, 2018, 09:56:56 PM
Math seems to check out, except ROI on a new miner is impossible now. New people don't realize this.
36  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2+ EH] Slush Pool (slushpool.com); World's First Mining Pool on: March 19, 2018, 11:26:35 AM

ok, so around 16h after the last block that brang you to 100% fill bar ( but you have to know it ! ) seems to be the only way.

Well no, you could be at 99% and have all 99% confirmed.

But 16h after you hit 100% is the longest it could take.
37  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Sourcing lowest electric prices on: March 19, 2018, 12:43:04 AM
Anyone know how to look up where has the lowest prices for electric? I've found a few sites, but nothing that seemed concrete. Looking to set up a bigger farm nearby, and want to suss out the best locations.

Cheers.
38  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2+ EH] Slush Pool (slushpool.com); World's First Mining Pool on: March 18, 2018, 09:15:24 PM
Its not that complex.

100 confirmations and something goes to confirmed. If you are below the threshhold you need to wait till 100 confs. It even says how long left on the website. I'm not following where it is confusing in any way.

YYYYYEEESSSSSS!!! BBBBBLLLLOOOOOCCKKKK!!!

Thanks, Romark!

(2nd place announcement)

P.S. - 130+% feels like forever

Wait till you have a 600+ block and it takes you three weeks of sub 100% blocks to make up for it.

I mine at a profit, I will mine at a loss.  I mine period. Why do I mine Bitcoin? Why would I mine Bitcoin even at a loss? The Fundamentals, Fundamentals, Fundamentals. Unless those change, I MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!!! If you are watching each price drop or price increase, if you are calculating Profit and Loss for each block, you are looking at the trees and not the FOREST!! Critically thinking about Bitcoin is required to understand a few things but the primary thing to understand is? Bitcoin is THE Crypto Currency that all others are compared to, has a very small total amount to ever exist AND all other Cryto's pale in comparison to the $$$ invested in it. Don't be a fool, always, always, always, FOLLOW THE MONEY!!! Mine On With KANO-SAN!! The Best Bitcoin Mining Pool on Earth!! BTCBTC Come on Luck!!

Mining is a busisness. To treat it in any other way is foolish.

The maths are simple. You either make money or you lose money. When you’re losing money you e failed and you close shop.
