21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make your own choice in investing? on: October 21, 2017, 10:38:38 PM
I'm interesting in investing, but when I start use telegram and FB as resource of project, a lot of people start write me in PM and asking abt my plan in crypto, how much money I have, a tonnes of advertising. And I feel that they are scammers. But they are almost always people with real names and faces ( i hope so). On the other hand I have this forum without real names and faces, but also without all madness that i had in telegram and FB.

The main question is - How to make your own choice and how to avoid bad influence, and understand when you are scammed?

I'm afraid to get confused in the big flow of information with advertising and I don't know what to focus on.
and to be sure that you read all my topic ( not only a subject) i what also want to ask how much time every day you spend to find, make a research abt project, read or write on this or another forum.

Thanks to all of you!

With time you will start to learn how to filter information from all the noise. Most of the info you see in the crypto space, and I mean here in bitcointalk, slacks, reddit, twitter gurus, facebook groups, telegram channels, are from people promoting their own investments. Not people from the dev team but common people like you and me that have invested their money in a given project and from that moment they promote it even to their friends.

Those trying to scam you, I havent seen much of that because I usually close the window and move on.

I made a video about POStoken, I took a lot of time, but when I came in, the claim was stopped because people cheat too much. Sad
Is there a way for me to still be rewarded with my video?

PM us please
me too. I made the video myself and I was marked "New claim for youtube bounty will not be accepted anymore due to spamming and cheating." Meanwhile, I have to take time to do it

When there is a system in place and specially when things are given for free and with good will there will always be people trying to play smart and try to get more than what they should have.

It's a shame because there are people putting lots of effort in producing the videos and promoting Postoken for nothing. Hope something can be done about this.

My brother and I have made a couple of contributions for the DeepOnion Community. You can view the thread at the official DeepOnion forums:
https://deeponion.org/community/threads/several-new-contributions-by-impressive-and-doglover.4671/

Outstanding work! Love the theme and graphics and the way it looks so professional and fast to load. Those mascot poses are soo cute and very likable. Thanks alot for your contribution.

I love seeing new and old participants helping each other when they see something wrong with their signature or whatever so they don't miss out on the airdrop.

Makes me really happy that this is a COMMUNITY and people aren't just here to get their pockets fatter.

This community is the best in all the crypto world and those news about mixing 5 posts here in bitcointalk and 5 posts in DeepOnion community forum is awsome, because that will make us more coese in our own place as many members don't post often over there and we need more daily threads and posts, I mean there is activity there but it could be much better if everyone here posted there aswell.

regarding the payment of the signature campaign how it works ? is it like another bounty ?? since this coins make a payment for each day not in a week

You will be payed at the end of the airdrop like all the other bounties. That day count you see is just to figure how much you will get in total regarding the rank you have here in bitcointalk, depending if you are jr. member, member etc.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Artemine- First Self Mining Smart Contract 2.0 on: October 19, 2017, 07:30:02 PM
who sells wallets Artemine???

what did you mean for this questions ?
are you want to buy the genesis addres of artemine ?
i think its very risky, because the seller will always have an access to the wallet

The developer said it will be possible to trade the genesis address, I don't know how they want this to be done since noone will want to release his private keys.

I believe you wont need to transfer your actually genesis address keys but instead you transfer the genesis property from one address to another person address. So lets say i have a genesis address with 30k Artemine it will then have an option on the contract that I can activate and introduce the new address I want to transfer my supply or the genesis property so when this is done my address wont have the hability to generate more artemine and the other person will get that option.

27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to participate in ICO's? on: October 19, 2017, 05:41:42 PM
When you make an investment there is always, but always risk, and doesn't matter if someone tells you there isn't any. When we talking about ICOs the risk comes in the form of the given project never reach the expected value when it hits the exchanges and this can happen due to various factors.

Now, if you talking about the ICO being safe from the perspective of how secure your money is when you pass it to the team behind it, again, there will always be some degree of insecurity to it because we have seen in previous ICOs that got hacked or the teams disappeared with the investors money that they cannot guarantee you 100% security.

The best one can do is research the project and hope for the best.

28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeepOnion A Scam? on: October 19, 2017, 01:37:27 PM
Stay away. I am not participate in airdrop or not even interested, but just willing to take a look I download wallet file and perform some activities also ask for bounty, But unbelievable experience.

Till date no bounty payment. And when ask for bounty on their own forum no reply. Dev team is busy in airdrop, designing, promotion etc.

Seems group of people engaging poor and new users by dreaming them. But it's very harmful in coming future, when Dev dump premined coins. Many newbie and crypto enthusiast are misleading.

Anyway use own intelligence before making any financial activities, it can loss your equity.

If you reach the dev team in the community forum using the ticket system they will tell you why you haven't got your airdrop tokens. You are not the first making this type of statements but I can confirm many people I know from crypto for a long time are all receiving their tokens.

They are very strict with the rules, thats a fact and IMO a good thing to, because they have to be as there are lots of people buying accounts and trying to pass with multiple accounts to collect more than they should.

Go to the community forum and try to see why you have been rejected.

For all dutch speaking people, I've updated the thread.

Please come have a look and tell me if there are any issues.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2257436.0
Good job keep up!

We just improved the speed of DeepVault it takes now 5-10 seconds to verify and no more freeze. With new coming update you will be able use much fast and stable. Also we are implementing few more things suggested from the community soon on it.

This two posts shows exactly why I'm in love with Deeponion. It's all about the community. People like to contribute and help the project grow. And this is only possible because dev team listens to the community and tries to adapt development to the community needs.

Thank you
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to write a great Whitepaper? on: October 16, 2017, 10:43:21 PM
You should probably go the paid route and get a professional do one for your project. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't know your writting skills but if you need to ask how to create a whitepaper and you want the best for your project the best thing you could do is hire a good guy to make it. If you do it though, you should make it technical but don't over do it because a good whitepaper should pass its information and be understood by common people.

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀[ANN][PoSToken]World's First PoS Smart Contract Token[3rd ROUND AIRDROP LIVE] on: October 16, 2017, 10:09:46 PM
3rd round of airdrop started.. but there is still no info about that 'Trading bounty'. When can we expect more details about that?

Like they say, in the next days we will find out more. I'm curious about how this trading bounty will be implemented. Hope it will incentivize people to buy PoSToken from exchanges and move it to their wallets to stack because there will only be one 100% interest rate year and many people are not stacking it by letting their tokens sit on the exchange. This could make the price move quite a bit.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie question: What is an airdrop and are they worth participating in? on: October 16, 2017, 01:17:57 AM
I see people asking about airdrops all the time.

What are they and how do you figure out if one is worth participating in?

An airdrop is a token distribution model. Every project has to give its tokens/coins to the investors/community. In some projects you have ICOS where you pay a given price for every token/coin and other projects distribute them for free in what is called an airdrop.

Different rules may be applied for you to receive the tokens. Some airdrop projects only airdrop part of the tokens, others airdrop near the total supply. Some may ask you only your address to send you the tokens and others may ask you for example to do a signature campaign where you promote and support the project or any other set rules like for example the rank your bitcointalk account has.

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All coins are now dying, what do you think? on: October 15, 2017, 11:08:12 PM
The entire market is in the red. Everyone has lost money. What do you think?

If you are new to the crypto world you will soon find out that this red days on the market happen very frequently. They are momentary and short-lived though and most often tied with the rallys of Bitcoin. It's not wise, from my perspective, to sell your alts at a loss when this happen, because they will eventually come back again and if you transfer your money to btc, you not only lose it in the swing but also if btc moves downwards you will end rebuying the alts at a higher price you sold. Some alts dont come back though thats why you should go for projects you believe will be here in the future, projects with potential to grow.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: October 15, 2017, 08:44:41 PM
This is a 3 year old coin and I hope that someone could bring a new plan to the project and really consider to keep working and developing it. It's a shame that all the support it had was because of the HF but I think this is the bottom and we will now see a new rise of SpreadCoin with an expansion of team members, new vision and strategy.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Been Away From Two Years... Help? on: October 12, 2017, 06:49:53 PM
Yeah I had a bit of Bitcoin back in the day but haven't been involved in quite some time. Just saw something on the news about these ICOs and decided to check back up on everything...  WOW! I want to invest my Bitcoin into different coins... But I also need to know how this all works??? Can anyone help me out?

Be really carefull before investing your money in multiple ICOs. Do lots of research and check on the teams behind every one of them because soon you will meet people who will tell you how team X or Y run with their money.

Also, you should keep in mind that their isn't free money, many ICOs do really good and you can multiply your investment but there are many others that will fail.

Take a look on airdrops to, those projects that distribute their tokens across their community for free, some have really great communities you can check DeepOnion for example.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: deep onion sucks on: October 10, 2017, 02:25:48 PM
So the reason DeepOnion team is banning/rejecting your application is what makes this project great. They do not allow and are very strict with people that break the rules. Every project should show this type of commitment towards its community. I would not like to see people abusing the system and getting away with it.

Don't know what was the reason behind your ban, but there is one for sure, and if you drop by DeepOnion Community forum there is a specific thread where you can talk about this issues and I'm sure they will let you know what you doing wrong.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: October 10, 2017, 02:01:10 PM
Unfortunately I wasn't able to catch the snapshot for HLM. Was involved in many other things and let this one pass by. So therefore I havent been following the whole process and would like to know whats left for SPR project. Will it keep beeing developed or there are any future plans, because as I can see by the charts it wasn't completly abandoned by everyone after they got their HLM. I know most people are excited about HLM but would like to ear some opinions regarding the future of SPR.
38  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: An introduction to forks on: October 10, 2017, 01:26:06 PM

What is a fork?

In open source software development, a fork refers to the event of an independent project spinning off from the original project by copying the code base and develop in a different direction.

This happens when the community has a diverse and irreconcilable visions/plans for the future development of the project. For example, Litecoin is a fork from Bitcoin because its developers copied the code of Bitcoin and launched as a separated project.

Due to the distinctive feature of blockchain that it relies on the entire network to run the exact same protocol, there are two kinds of forks: soft fork and hard fork.

What is a soft fork?

New rules by a soft fork allow a subset of the previous valid blocks, therefore all blocks considered valid by the newer version are also valid in the old version

A soft fork is forward compatible, meaning that old versions of the protocol will recognize new blocks. If at least 51% of the hashing power shifts to the new version, the system can self-correct and maintain consensus on the blockchain. For example, the Bitcoin SegWit upgrade on 21 Aug 2017 was a soft fork when the majority of the miners agreed to shift to the new version of the Bitcoin.

What is a hard fork?

Hard forks ease block acceptance rules making previously invalid blocks valid in the new version, therefore effectively creating a new blockchain

A hard fork is not forward compatible on the contrary. Old versions of the protocol are not compatible with the new versions and therefore it requires everyone on the network to upgrade. The risk is that when a substantial amount of miners refuse to upgrade, a chain split is very likely to happen. For example, the creation of Bitcoin Cash on 1 Aug 2017 was a hard fork from Bitcoin when the Bitcoin Cash developers disagreed with SegWit and decided to move onto the new blockchain.

Understanding the nature of forks is essential to keep track of the future development of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. For example, both Bitcoin and Ethereum is going to have a hard fork soon. We will keep updating with regards to different forks, please stay tuned!

Now this is some good information for newcomers to absorve. Most just want to figure what's the next coin they should spend their money into and don't bother to learn some of the mechanisms behind the projects they support. This type of initiative can start to produce a change in the way that people initiate their journey in crypto. Well done.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: (ANN) Jetcoin (JET) - Supporting Tomorrow's Champions on: October 10, 2017, 12:24:40 PM
Great to see those questions about supply answered. In my opinion project dev team holding 95% is a bit too much, but if JETcoin institute compromises to show detailed transactions so investors can keep track of where the funds are going I don't see a problem. I really think this is a project with great potential if everything is taken with transparency at all levels.

40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO][active] AdShares - P2P market for programmatic ADS on: October 09, 2017, 07:15:40 PM
Dev team is doing work, this project should get more exposure, you could consider doing any twitter campaign or signature campaign to get more peoples attention it would be great for adshares.

I know dev team is busy as I can see in github that almost everyday there is an update, but you could update us here more frequently that would generate more interest between potential investors.

Keep up the good work!
