21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: July 23, 2013, 04:26:13 AM
Their problem was scale. They were simply a victim of their own success.

Yea but there was a better way to deal with all of the problems than what they did.   They showed that they do not care about they're customers.  They do not care about they're reputation.   They know that they will not have any real competition and that all of they're users who they screwed over will come back.  Until there are more stable and reasonably priced options out there this thing will happen more and more.

Once BTC businesses have real compititon out there they will put more emphasis on customer service.
22  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: July 21, 2013, 06:22:07 PM
I'm a former BitInstant employee.  I'm under no obligation to post this, nor is this endorsed by BitInstant.  With all the wild theories and speculation going on I feel the need to say something...

Charlie and the team there are good people.  BitInstant is one of the leading and longest running bitcoin businesses.  It's obvious the new website had some issues and the dev team is working hard to get things working properly.  There is no scam and BitInstant isn't "robbing" people.

They are doing some restructuring and likely prepping for a proper relaunch.  There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes and daily challenges within a volatile space like bitcoin.  This is a new market and there will be bumps in the road.

If you have an issue with an outstanding transaction my suggestion to you is to be patient and communicate with their support team in a calm and respectful way.  If your order has a problem then they will fix it.

BitInstant is an important part of the bitcoin community and has made it easy for so many people to get their first taste of bitcoin.  They're growing quickly and working on exciting new projects and functionality.  I know they will come back stronger then ever.

And yet they had to lay you off....they couldn't afford the salary of a customer service employee, which (no offense) couldn't have been that high.  Also no offense, but like many others you seem to have been under the Bitinstant "spell" as well.....you spent your time defending them when all the evidence pointed to a very problematic future for Mr. Shrem personally and Bitinstant as a company.  I've said this time and again, but I'll say it again: code either works or it doesn't.  It doesn't work just sometimes, and it doesn't require endless delays while people manually "push through" transactions.  The fact that some (small) transactions went through instantly, while most others instantly received "order failed" responses, shows that the code worked.  So when they had delays, it was because they had no money.

All of these were bankroll issues.  They could have easily publicly displayed how many Bitcoins they had available to sell, and stopped taking new orders that couldn't be immediately delivered, until they had more coins available.  They could have even setup an email queue that would let interested people that wanted coins know instantly when more coins were available.  But they couldn't do this, because they needed the new transaction money in order to process old transactions (aka Ponzi Scheme).  Who knows where the old transaction money went - perhaps Charlie's trips to London.  They were selling things they didn't have with the promise of immediate delivery.  They were no different than criminals that post items they don't have on eBay, collect the money, and run - except they did it on a larger scale.

+1000

Completely true.  I am almost throu with my second year of a 4 year degree in CS programming and this is so true.  There is no it works sometimes or we have push your trans through while other orders work fine.  Maybe if there is a mistake on your order but MY TWO ORDERS HAD NO MISTAKES and I had to wait 5 weeks for my $800.   This company was just stringing people along trying to get enough new money in to pay for old orders (aka Ponzi scheme).

To give the benifits of doubt maybe ursay doesn't really know what's going on at BI (doubtful) but to anyone who looks at it without they're BTC blinders on can see this company is a scam.   Even more proof of this is how long it took them to take the site down.   They had hundreds of complaints , people threatening this and that, and yet they still took weeks longer to shut the site down.

To all you newbies who dont read one post before you post some dumb shit like

Quote
Hi  I understand that my first bitcoin purchase from you guys is limited to $25.00..  I am just wondering  ...how long do I have to wait too make my second purchase, also is there a limit on how much I can buy the second time around?   really looking forward to working with you guys this is a fantastic  site

You deserve what you get.  Hopefully the amount BI screws you for is small and you learn from the experience.
23  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: July 21, 2013, 06:10:10 PM
And I don't care how many previous trans BI successfully completed, I used them many times too without a problem.  But this shows how they handle business when there are problems.

I did two sell BTC for USD ($800 total) There were no mistakes in my order yet for some reason it didn't go through and BI would not respond to me for OVER A MONTH!  Nothing not one response.  I never got nasty with them and was way way way more patient than I should have been.

Finally about 5 weeks later they write me and tell me they are sending me a check via priority mail and would email me a tracking number.  Well they can't even get that right.  Turns out they had bill.com send me a check via regular mail.

So in all I got my money back but I would NEVER use BI again.   I advise everyone else to never use the, again either.

WTF is wrong with you people?  Don't you guys realize the site is down and BI is not in business right now?

No wonder BI got so many people.

25  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GPU mining profit vs. ebay depreciation on: July 20, 2013, 09:44:50 PM
What I don't understand is why people still mine BTCs with GPUs?

Mining LTCs is almost twice as profitable.  I have had all my rigs mining LTCs for a while now.  If you don't want anything to do with LTCs you could always just trade them in for BTCs.  And you would get almost twice the amount of BTCs.

I have 13 7950s between three rigs right now.   I'm still way way way way profitable.

How I wish this thread was not in the newbie section.
27  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyone have any idea how to control a Win 8 rig from another room? Wireless KVM? on: July 18, 2013, 05:07:16 PM
Wireless keyboard, mouse and VGA?

I will look this up.   It does look like some of the ones I have saw before that only work line of sight.
28  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyone have any idea how to control a Win 8 rig from another room? Wireless KVM? on: July 18, 2013, 04:50:36 PM
Drill the wall

Seriously.

I really don't understand what seems so hard about just plugging everything in with longer cables...

I don't understand why you are even bringing virtualization into the mix. You don't need a separate session do you? You don't need someone to be in the other room using the computer at the same time as you, do you? You aren't looking to control more than that one machine from that single set of keyboard/mouse/monitor, are you?
If not, then you are looking at solutions for problems you don't have.

Because I have a nice big house and don't want to run 50-60 ft VGA/DVI or drill holes in walls.  Plus the way my house is setup I would have to go through like 3 walls to get to my living room.  And then have cable laying here and there.  Or I would have to run it through the attic and have a cable to going up into my 16 ft ceilings in my living room. Smiley
29  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyone have any idea how to control a Win 8 rig from another room? Wireless KVM? on: July 16, 2013, 05:14:34 PM
No I dont think i was clear.

I want to put my rig (tower) in the other room.  I want to control it from my living room where there wouldn't be any computer.  Just a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

I saw this working one time at a job I was doing.  They had a tower in one room and were controlling it through what they said was a wireless KVM.  Tower in one room.  Monitor, keyboard, and mouse in another.

If you look at the item I linked to in my OP you will see it says it will work for this but the reviews are not so good.
30  Bitcoin / Mining / Anyone have any idea how to control a Win 8 rig from another room? Wireless KVM? on: July 14, 2013, 10:32:30 PM
I have my BAMT rigs in another room because of the noise and heat.  I would like to put my Windows 8 rig in the other room also.  But I use my Windows 8 rig sometimes so I would like to be able to control it from a different room.

Anyone know how to do this?  Maybe a wireless KVM or something?  I did find something that appears to work but the reviews are not good.

What I found is this.  http://www.cables4computer.com/USB_and_FireWire/Display-Dock-set_DisplayDock_Wireless_USB_Docking_Station_with_Video_for_PC.html

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Don't listen to crazylikeafox. He's one of those people that likes to bad mouth businesses without much proof. Sites like bitinstantscam.com are also not proof since most of the people there likely did not follow procedure to get their orders processed. ANY problem I had with bitinstant was solved within 24 hours as I followed proper procedure and did not clog up their system with support tickets like most people tend to do. They were an excellent company to buy bitcoins from but it looks like they need to sort things out for themselves. Hopefully another company will rise up in their place.

Yea what makes it worse is people talking shit when they have no idea what they are talking about.  I had two trans with NO MISTAKES that took over A MONTH to get a response from BI.   Cmpoetely they're fault a d they couldn't even respond to tell me what's going on.
32  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: July 13, 2013, 03:41:05 AM
Well they took BitInstant down.   All of you who called it in this thread got it right.  Look at they're site
33  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: July 09, 2013, 11:09:47 PM
You guys are bitching about 24 hours, how about read the last few pages of this thread before posting.

I'm on day 17.

As with all things BTC read up before using a service.  Even if you have used it before.

When will support for Canada be added?

Hopefully after support for they're customers who have been waiting weeks for they're money.

I have a paid for Eset subscription.  I have used almost every mining program known to man and have never had Eset say anything was suspicious.

I just logged into Dwolla too so wtf are you talking about?

He means that Dwolla is no longer processing BSInstant transactions.  And you can pretty much infer from the fact that they have simply gone quiet that their current status is....up the river without a paddle.  The 40% decline in BTC prices over the last month should have helped them out, but it's fairly obvious now that they don't even have a few hundred dollars in the bank to pay employees, much less to cover hundreds of thousands of dollars in undelivered transactions at any price.  I have a feeling the rapid price decline in BTC has something to do with BSInstant's inability to buy BTC anymore, since they were a major buyer.

They managed to somehow keep order flow coming for a lot longer than I thought they could after they first started lying about technical problems several months ago, but I'm afraid the ship has finally sunk.

Oh man I hope not.  Stuff like this has happened before when everyone thought BI had went scammer.  But they always came out of it.  I hope this time is the same.

37  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: July 01, 2013, 08:33:38 PM
I can say from first hand today they are handling tickets. I'd say they're probably sifting through a bunch of problems that were the cause of the customer, an error such as mine. They resolved my issue and manually sent my coins. Hope you guys have better luck!

There were no mistakes on my two orders.   I dunno what they're issue is.
38  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: July 01, 2013, 01:24:34 AM
Dude if it was 2 weeks I would be demanding a refund from Zip Zap. If they haven't paid you your Bitcoins in 2 weeks, and I assume it was for a large amount as mine was meager, but after reading all of these posts, I'm already flipping out. I'd be marching into their office if I could, because everything on my end has checked out. I messaged the Ursay guy. Let's see if he does anything.

I dont think Zip Zap has anything to do with my orders.  I did two sell BTC for USD via ACH transfer.

Ifiled a support ticket almost two weeks ago.

No one from BI is even posting on this thread anymore.  And ursay removed the BI logo from under his user name.

Something seems to be going on but I really hope not.  I got a good bit of money tied up in this crap.
39  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: June 30, 2013, 08:09:37 PM
Getting a failed transaction notice is one thing, not getting a response from customer service in 2 days is absurd. Bitinstant you need to get your customer service in check. You need to let those with failed transactions know what is going on. You need to stop messing around with our money. You need to get it together. I can handle a delay, however a delay without any follow up response besides your copy and paste message is unacceptable and you have a lot to answer for. This is going to gain attention and you had a potential good thing going here and you're ruining it. GIVE ME MY BITCOINS!!!!!!!

Michael    Embarrassed

2 days?  Get comfortable.   I am almost at 2 weeks.   Not a word from BI.

I really hope they have not turned scammers.  I have recommended BI to all of my friends starting about 2 years ago when they first came out.  I hope they don't make me look like an idiot.  They have always came throug in the past when there was an issue but I have never saw anything like this.

I have been patiently waiting.  Not threatning them and they can't even give me any kind of word.
40  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Official Newbie BitInstant Support Thread (Active Customer Support) on: June 28, 2013, 08:43:06 PM
Most of the people who were complaining never posted again, which is typical. People only go out of their way to make public statements to provide negative feedback. Only a few of them posted again to confirm that they had received their BTC, albeit without the fee reimbursement they were promised... BUT they were told to resubmit a new support ticket if they wanted to claim their reimbursement, so those who wish to do so have to wait for their company to authorize that claim as a separate matter. It's all a lot of messy technical crap, but unfortunately they have to follow the company's protocol and handle each case separately and with whatever information they have available to them at the time. Bitcoin is still a pretty new currency and its popularity has been on the rise so its no surprise that a slight technical glitch here and there can cause a trainwreck of backlogs. Anyway, I'm waiting patiently for my Coinapult email. I believe that it will make it eventually...

Yea but most of those people posted bitching about transactions they just made or made in the last day or so.  So hiw can they be taken care of before all of us who are patiently waiting?

That's what I was saying.   They are picking and choosing.

I am going on two weeks.  And both of my orders were correct no mistakes.
