Is not a bad idea that each of us give a contibution (or include a fee as with the ewbf miner) to a developer to create a firmware update for D3 to give us the posibility to rescue our investment
Dude, they are ASIC. All they will ever do is X11. They are not FPGA's. Geeze can't you read!! The X11 algo is a combination of 11 algorithms , we dont know what is the really inside the Chip ... there is no way to change the chip structure but what if Bitmain left a small door open and also some other algos may be supported even on shit rate - and it will be the case of firmware only ? - Speculations - but hope that dream will come true... |

Is anyone in here actually have any experience in crypto ?
When I read most of the comments I got the feeling that everyone was expecting to get $100 a day for a lifetime from those machines...
I know people which stopped mining BTC few years back as they be able to mine "only" 1 BTC per day ( approx $1 at that time ) and were moaning that is not worth to switch on the PC for this "crap" .
I bought over 40 of D3 fro Nov , and now I am buying more below £1000/each on ebay - and there is only one stupid thing I done - I should keep the money and wait till now to get much more from "panty shitters" like most of you ...
Imagine you making NOW equivalent of $2 a day in DASH after elec cost .... and imagine DASH at $1000 with difficulty at the level of 50mil or DASH at $200 with difficulty 50mil and BTC at $20000 - how much your $1 from today will be worth ? What would be your ROI time from future perspective ?
Please get a good plug and close your bum hole to stop spreading the shit around , and open your mind - switch on brain - ... Or let me have it your D3's below $1000 in next few weeks...

Interesting.... I thought that taxes would only count when cashing out as a "capital gains tax"
I think that if someone gives you a physical gold bar "for free", in some cases you should pay taxes for that, even if you not sell it for money. Same for cryptocurrency "airdrops". That is insane... that would mean anything that I have ever been given "for free" in life I would have to pay taxes on..... This is the exact reason why we need cryptocurrencies..... greedy governments want their cut of something that is not theirs.... THIEVES!!! Insane, yes. The government wants you pay taxes on every source of income. Remember we're supposed to be in control of our government. If you don't like what they are doing, make sure your "representatives" are aware of your displeasure and that you vote for those people who really decrease taxes, not just those who say they do. That said, also remember there's no such thing as a "free lunch". Everything the government doles out is stolen from others. If you are a large recipient of those handouts, don't complain about the taxes unless you want the "free" stuff to disappear. For the rest of us "Peters" who are robbed to pay the "Pauls", however, sorry Paul, your days of free lunches are coming to an end. I live in the UK, and am quite happy to pay my taxes in order to fund out National Health Service, benefits for those less fortunate than myself (yes, some people do take the p*ss, but the vast majority need this assistance), investment in infrastructure (even if I may disagree on some of the choices the Government make), etc. At the end of this tax year I will be declaring my cryptocurrency investments and gains (hopefully!). As there is a lot off unknown future about the late batches of Antminer D3 , I would like to start a topic where we can share ideas about
alternative use of this hardware - different than X11 mining.
The interested aspects are:
- Can we install different OS on the machine ?
- Can D3 be reprogrammed to any different algo or X11 is the only one ?
- How the power of the machine can be used if not for mining ?
- Any interested ideas about alternative use of this equipment ?
- Any Links to sources with interested detailed information's , tech documentations , operating systems, circuit diagrams ?

Spreadcoin -- no. Helium -- yes, once it is live. M so they didn't change the algo in the end they will go with x11 for asic domination? i was hoping to mine it with my gpu My understanding is Helium will be based on the Dash coin, which means x11. M Is it true that Helium will have a mining algo which prevents mining in pools to make mining more fair ? I haven't heard anything like this... And I would think it is very unlikely. You can ask this question in the Slack #mining channel, as nobody ever mentioned this idea before. I must see that on different X11 startup then :/ |

Is this the first time that a manufacturer really UPOD (UnderPromiseOverDeliver) or what ? 16,777777% more hashing-speed, 20% less pwr consumption. What temps do you see with yours ? It seems to target for chip-temps at 70C for me. One board has crazy high hw-err but there are no X-es coming up, yet. Hashing speed is fine, too. Keeping my fingers crossed  From my calculation yesterday i think that the fans are at ~ 70% KNC Miner delivered the Titan scrypt ASIC considerably better than advertised, a little foggy on the details - it was 3 years ago. and today at this time situation repeats ... over 200 Ths just now |
