Quote
CardCash, an American online company that buys and sells discounted gift cards from thousands of national retailers, has begun to accept bitcoin payments. CardCash joins companies like Gyft and Fold that provide ways for Bitcoin users to interact with the massive gift card industry.

...

In September, CardCash expects to roll out its mobile app that will allow people with a bitcoin wallet to buy gift cards online instantly. “You’ll be able to walk into Wal-Mart, go shopping, go on the app while you’re in line, and buy a gift card right there on your phone,” said Bohm. “When you get to the checkout, you just show them the barcode.”

27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: September 03, 2015, 05:53:14 AM
I use Bitcoin for trading & shopping. From now onwards, I am planning to hold Bitcoin to build my dream home.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ban Bitcoin XT connections to my node? on: September 03, 2015, 05:49:00 AM
Is there any effective way to do this?

UPDATE. Found solution.

All paths are according to CeontOS 7. If you have different distrib, change paths.

This goes to autostart:

Code:
echo "/usr/bin/ipset create bitcoinxt iphash timeout 0" >> /etc/rc.local

This goes to /etc/cron.hourly/bitcoinxt
Code:
#!/bin/bash
/bin/grep BitcoinXT /var/log/kern.log | /usr/bin/perl -e 'while (<>) { if (/SRC=(\d+\.\d+\.\d+\.\d+)/) {print "$1\n";} }' | /bin/sort | /usr/bin/uniq -u | /usr/bin/xargs -L 1 ipset -exist add bitcoinxt

Also
Code:
# chmod 755 /etc/cron.hourly/bitcoinxt

This goes to iptables
Code:
iptables -A INPUT -m set --set bitcoinxt src -j DROP
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --dport 8333 -m string --string "Bitcoin XT" --algo bm --to 65535 -j LOG --log-prefix "BitcoinXT" --log-level 1
iptables -A OUTPUT -m set --match-set bitcoinxt dst -j DROP

Dont forget to
Code:
/etc/init.d/iptables save

Good Study and thank you very much for the information.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Barclays to start accepting bitcoin on: September 03, 2015, 05:46:36 AM
Barclays and the bitcoin startup, Safello, will build a program that would allow charities to accept bitcoin.  This appears to be the first time a big bank has directly undertaken a live experiment with the digital currency. This can improve confidence on Bitcoin Investors.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Hearn response to "An Open Letter to the Bitcoin Community" on: September 03, 2015, 05:41:15 AM
Interestingly this is his last tweet:

I'm getting a few mistaken follows due to sharing a name with a Bitcoin dev. I like Bitcoin, I wrote about it once, I don't develop for it.
31  Other / Meta / Re: Free BitcoinTalk notification extension for Chrome & Opera on: September 03, 2015, 04:23:13 AM

32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We Don't Want Democracy, We Want Consensus! on: September 03, 2015, 04:10:52 AM
The Social consensus, which we need 'discussion among developers to indicate that most people agree with a particular plan'.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen: On The Blocksize And Bitcoin’s Governance on: September 03, 2015, 03:31:15 AM

34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong time to invest in bitcoin with the confusion? on: September 02, 2015, 11:40:59 AM
This is the best time to invest in Bitcoin.  But invest in small quantities on regular intervals for a long term investment.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Win 1 BTC & Support Bitcoin Alert Service App Crowdfund - 74% funded 4 days left on: September 02, 2015, 11:16:23 AM
Unfortunately the site is down (showing '403' error) for me.  I will check it later once it fixed.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Developers support main-chain scaling as a guiding principle? on: September 02, 2015, 06:45:28 AM

"To mitigate potential existential risks, it behooves us all to take the time to evaluate proposals that have been put forward and agree on the best solutions via the consensus-building process."
Quote
"We're committed to ensuring the largest possible number of users benefit from bitcoin, without eroding these fundamental values."

According to the letter, bitcoin is a security-critical system with billions of dollars of users' assets that a mistake could compromise.
37  Economy / Exchanges / Re: who is the owner of poloniex ? on: September 02, 2015, 05:32:22 AM
Yes, the owner of Poloniex Exchange is Tristan D'Agosta. What you need from the owner of Poloniex?
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AT&T has effectively banned Bitcoin nodes by closing port 8333 via a hidden fire on: September 02, 2015, 05:30:09 AM
U-verse's authentication protocol only works with equipment provided by AT&T. Their ADSL service worked with third party modems, but their ADSL2 and VDSL don't. You can use a different router and put it into the U-verse router's DMZ though.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what kind of address is this? on: September 02, 2015, 04:41:55 AM
Very interesting Bitcoin wallet.  May be a voting address.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Going to use profit I made via BTC to raise awareness! on: September 01, 2015, 10:29:26 AM
Other than banner, why don't you use Big Round Air Balloon with Bitcoin promotional slogans on it? Air Balloon can viewed by many people than a banner.
