KNCMiner Neptune 20nm: will offer 0.7 watts per GH/sec.   http://www.coindesk.com/kncminer-pre-orders-next-asic/

Actm 28nm: Estimated Chip Power Consumption: 11.136 Watts (~0.696 Watts per GH/s).   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=158806.msg2598150#msg2598150

Seems like the competition isn't really that competitive.
22  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 26, 2013, 01:39:56 PM
Honestly, Ken's silence has value. Any information that we can give our competitors gives them more foresight on how to compete. It's tough that we don't know everything that's going on, but that's just the nature of a new company in a competitive environment. Like Bargraphics says, just be patient and professional. Ken's busy, he's not sitting on a couch eating cheetos all day and reading the forums taking pride in not answering everyone's questions. I'm confident that when Ken feels it's appropriate for the information to come out, then he'll make some announcements. And he hasn't said anything other than he'll make announcements in November, and we all hoped it would have been earlier in November, but we've still got a few days til the months over.

You can speculate the possible price movements for days but never come close to what WILL happen. Who saw 0.007 coming with the eASIC news release?? It seemed an outlandish number the day before.

I'd say good luck to anyone wishing to get out at a good price, you can't blame them realistically after the long wait. But I would say not to let the long wait effect your view on the longer picture/forecast for the company. I will be holding for the divs no matter what price goes to. If the news is good price will go up yes. But remember if news is good the divs will be very rewarding.

+1

Losing site of one's initial long term strategy could prove costly if you sell too low.

Thats right. Dividends will be way more profitable than ever. You may get what you were hoping to get from the dividends alone. If ken pulls off the chip, which I strongly believe he will, we'll do excellent.

I'm going to post the same warning as I posted in the Cointerra thread.  Because Bitcoin is worth so much right now, the chances of being scammed is increased proportionately.  Start acting NOW, as I have.  Stop worshipping Ken and question him, learn what he is actually doing.  Investigate every word he says, every promise he makes, and talk to AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN who are involved with this.  Prepare yourself now as I have done.  Don't let him BFL you.

What a weirdo.

For once the word "FUD" would be accurate but no one uses it.

What is wrong with you people  Sad

For once, I agree with you. VE has done stuff like this before guys. Stop freaking out.
26  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 22, 2013, 02:43:44 AM

Let's just let this dead horse lie, Ken will do as he wants regardless of what we speculate on this thread.

i agree, this has been the consistent theme.

Ken's got it under control. He's been working really hard.

Also, not that I can see his posts, but anyone else find it interesting how crumbs hasn't really been too active since bitfunder shut down? It's almost like he was trying to crash the stock when we didn't have too much going for us, just to get more shares. That or maybe he's just crazy.

Progress is being made with Colored Coins Smiley

p2ptrade GUI screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/VlVw6cT.png

(it needs some bugfixes/improvements to work properly, though.)

What's the ETA of this colored coins implementation?

I do not know, but here is their thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=106373.280

Anyone knows if Ken is also looking at Mastercoin? It seems to me that they are both potentially good options (colored coins and Mastercoin).
Yes, Ken is aware of Mastercoin, as well as the potential for using Ripple. I think that it will be color coins, I believe this will be the best option and will be available the soonest.

There is also something new called 'bitshares'. Something similar to mastercoin it seems, except it is a new cryptocurrency based off of RAM mining, so it's very different in that regard. It's an interesting project by Invictus Innovations, I've heard the interview from Let's Talk Bitcoin. They're trying to develop a decentralized anonymous internet and a decentralized securities market. It'll probably be a while though.

I have created a dividend/company calculator. It is conservative.

I'd say that it's very likely that the model is pretty inaccurate after month 2, as it makes a lot of big assumptions.

If you'd like the file to modify parameters or double check my work, suggest a good place for me to upload it to. I know there was an active mining shareholder website that maybe lewicki made? For now, PM me your email address if you want this program.

I actually spent time on this it's dynamic and updates based off of changing the assumptions, donations are always welcome:

Why are you panicking because the price of bitcoin has risen?

It's a GOOD thing.

Negative. Now each block creates $20,000 as opposed to $2,500 so there is more incentive to mine and thus we will have even more competition.

Also its harder and harder for our shares to be worth what they used to be due to the change in value of Bitcoin. Our sales are in fiat so that links us to a fiat price. Only our mining farm can get the share price back to where they were, but where is this mining farm?

The same amount of fiat gets us the same amount of mining equipment which will get us the same amount of btc.

The only thing is that now there will be more sales, which will be more of a hashrate. This is where the money will be, in mining.

Can we have a vote to decrease divs to 30% of profits? Maximizing reinvestment, I believe this is where the other companies failed.

I agree with this completely. And in fact would propose that in the initial stages even more goes towards reinvestment. Competition will be huge, we need to use any head start we might have to go full force and outdo competition.
31  Economy / Securities / Re: Lorenzo Money Speaks on: November 18, 2013, 10:57:04 PM
MY price to you for a single lot of all my shares is 1014 bitcoin.

If all these optimistic shareholders really believed in the company they would take you up on your offer.

Instead you get crickets.

I'm sorry, fresh out of $655,000. If I had it there's no way in hell I'd invest all of it into this company at that shareprice. Lol

I have several questions regarding my order with you.

1) I noticed that you founded a company called "Virtual Mining" last year in Missouri, which was later closed by the authorities (https://www.sos.mo.gov/BusinessEntity/soskb/Corp.asp?3322736). Now there is another "Virtual Mining" company registered in Delaware, which also operates in Missouri, but with a different name (BTC Mining Corporation). Can you please shed some light on this, in particular why the authorities shut down your former "Virtual Mining" company?

Did not pay the required fee, as I did not need that company any longer.  Yes, since we are operating in Missouri, we had to file as a foreign corporation, but could not use the Virtual Mining name as it is taken.

2) On you website you state that "Fast-Hash" and "Gold Rush" are trademarks of your company. However, when checking with the US Patent and Trademark Office (http://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/) I did not find any such trademarks registered by "Virtual Mining Corporation". Can you elaborate on this?

You get a Trademark by using it, then you can registered it at the uspto.gov, then it becomes a registered trademark.

Quote
3) What happens if you cannot deliver my miner by October/November as stated on your website? Will I get a refund in this case?

Yes, we will give refunds if we can not deliver on time.

Note question 3.

I am not a troll. In 11 days all customer money is refunded.

You are correct, in 11 days customers will be able to get refunds if they want. Ken has all of the preorder money, and it will not be a problem. However, now that mining is much more profitable, I'm guessing that they won't unless they payed in bitcoin.

Also, there's no reason to believe that the miners won't be ready in the next 11 days either. Frankly, we don't know.

What we do know is that Ken usually gives us big news without any lead up and that he said there will be announcements this month.

Everyone, relax. Even if you wanted to do anything, you can't. Just accept that and go on a walk.

Fuck. Bitcoin hitting $1,000 soon. Most depressing day of my life. Haha its such a joke, we are still hashing under 1TH/s!!! What happened to the extra 3TH/s? Was that a lie?

Chill out bro. We are 10x more profitable than we were a month ago.
34  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 18, 2013, 09:55:41 PM
Jesus - the bitcoin space is blowing up…

looks like we might have a $1000 bitcoin by tomorrow.

They have basically said that not only is bitcoin legal, but they want bitcoin-related jobs in the US

That is HUGE

This is going great.

**QUESTIONS THAT KEN ISN'T GOING TO ANSWER NOW**
Just wait for the "big announcement" that Ken said is coming up and I'm sure we will get a lot more information out of Ken. Patience.

Sorry for being negative everyone. I just keep seeing the Bitcoin price rise and have major freak outs.

Smiley

I will try to be more positive. I just really want to see some TH/s online.

Just relax. You took a risk, and you have to accept the reasons you took that chance. Be patient, things will be okay or they won't, both outcomes are beyond your control. One positive note, the price rise has made mining much more profitable. People are going to start getting into mining again. They'll buy our machines, which we can use that USD to mine at a much more profitable rate. Then of the btc we mine, we will have half of it go to dividends, and the other half to go toward more mining.

I think things will be okay. If anything, the btc price rise has made active mining more likely to succeed. It increases mining profitability as well as public mining interest. We'll be selling a lot of mighty fine shovels and we'll be able to get our chips into large quantity production, making them extremely cheap. Which will great for us. Be patient, I know it sucks, but Ken is working.

Holy crap, I've played Counterstrike matches with angry 12 yearolds that didn't moan and cry anywhere near as much as some of the users in this thread, you should be embarrassed of yourselves for turning a relevant discussion thread into an almost consistently off-topic flame war.

It's a shame because some of you sound like you could actually provide valuable insight if you weren't so busy flexing your e-dicks. What's worse is it's the vocal (and now ignored) minority that are ruining it for the rest of us, please re-consider if bitching at each other is a valuable use of yours, and everyone that has to read your crap's, time.

Thanks.  Roll Eyes

This whole page shows up as 'ignored' for me. You're the only post I can actually see. Including the two that have been posted after I tried to submit this the first time...

Go outside people, there's a real world out there. Not much will happen in these threads, and it can only be good news, so there's not much to worry about. We don't have our shares, it's not like we could sell if we even wanted. Take a walk. Go get icecream with some of the satoshi dust we've gotten. Mcdonald's still gives out free kiddie cones!

A million dollar order  Shocked  not bad for a day's work!

Twist: The $1M order was Ken's order for the ActM mining operation.

That's exactly I thought.

The exact figure he posted is what the price on the website is for 6x Platinum machines. We would pay cost price wouldn't we?

Who would get the profits Matt S?

Please excuse my ignorance. I looked into Mastercoin a while ago but I couldn't figure out how exactly to receive them. Do I keep them in a bitcoin wallet? Does the wallet have to only hold mastercoins in it?

Is there a good resource with this information? Sorry again for the newbie post, I'm just not a techie and I think mastercoin is pretty neat.
