Why RIP, I think it's quite positive - hopefully the new website and announcements are coming Keep the faith!

Really hope they will announce that partnership with Dash soon.

I decided to try Stox - Bancor based prediction market platform - the project looks pretty solid and attracted some big investors already. It's a long-term though, at least for one year. The initial price was 200 STX = 1 ETH. Looking forward to see it on bittrex.
Stox was way lower than the ico price on liqui today. I have seen it for $.89 today it might go down in that case i will buy some. Like I said, it's mostly the long-term project, not the one for instant dump. Besides, volumes on Liqui are pretty low, also there are most likely quite a few bots involved in trading there. But yes, it's a good opportunity to get some cheap STX.

When I am researching what should I look for ? I mean what points or issues etc ? what are the important factors you look for when you research before investing in a coin for long term and for short term ?
Apart for obvious "a good team", "representative website" etc. I think it's important to check the roadmap - it can be a decisive factor for short-term. Because some coins are good with decent ideas behind them and stuff, but their price is relatively static, because well, nothing much is going on, they are not moving forward (examples: Ripple, PTOY, SIA in a way), which isn't a problem for long-term but can be a bit frustrating if you trade more often.

Yes, I didn't hear much about Waves lately, except for Gazprombank deal, so it's hard to believe in a sudden 50-100x grow. How short is the term you are talking about btw?

I heard PTOY is going to perform some mooning soon apparently, they will announce the partnership with Dash soon. Rumours or true, I decided to invest in this project before.

... As for ANS/NEO, well, I'm waiting for the new website and their roadmap, but hopefully it will cost much more the next year already.
ANS/NEO is already at $400M marketcap, meaning that a x100 will put them at $40B... the current value of Bitcoin (and/or the value of a huge international industrial automotive group). x5 max for this one... best scenario. Well, the best-case scenario would be x50 i.e. $20B which is the marketcap of Ethereum now. Maybe I'm too optimistic but I think it's still possible, maybe not in 2018, but prior to 2020. As far as I can speculate, of course. Smart contract platform, Chinese market (look at Alibaba), a bright future for crypto These are some factors to consider.

Yesterday I needed to do my first withdrawal, less than 1 ETH actually. For some reasons they've asked me to verify my account. It's been hassle-free though - ID, one photo and in 5 minutes everything was sorted. Still strange though

well, the last 24 hours were good for (at least) doubling you BTC. Now it can be too late. Personally, I'm waiting for another dump below 0.2, then for another pump up to 0.5 and then I'm planning to quit this crazy coin

a bit too late, but... BCC jokes aside, I believe in Patientory and ANS/NEO. The first one can be a very good long-term investment, though we can't really predict if the Healthcare industry will accept it. As for ANS/NEO, well, I'm waiting for the new website and their roadmap, but hopefully it will cost much more the next year already.

NEO and its GAS. if you have NEO in your wallet or at binance.com, it will generate GAS. Reward calculator: https://neotogas.com/

I wouldn't mind some crash - it can be a great opportunity to multiply your altcoins and sell them later once all the drama is over.

1. First off, do your own research. 2. Read a lot of posts both here and on other crypto-related forums. 3. Check for coins that have good developer(s) and dedicated community. 4. Read their roadmaps and whitepaper to see what problems they are addressing that hasn't been addressed before and what the future may hold for the coin. Also, check to see if there are similar projects in the market and compare. 5. Check for coinmarket cap of those coins.
I often see this advice - to make a research, but honestly, aren't there quite a few altcoins which look pretty good in terms of developers, community, whitepaper etc? I mean, if it's not an obvious shitcoin, then it's promising, at least on a paper. The thing is we can't really look into the future and see which exact technology or idea will be adopted. So, I'm more with janggernaut here: You will get different result if you are asking to everyone. Personally i think investing in altcoin can be considered as gambling. We never know if the coin will be rise or down in the future but i hope all coin rises.
