I don't have a single UPS on any of my rigs. If I did they would only last 1-2 minutes. Getting UPS that can do more than 900 watts is really expensive. You can get them used on ebay and craigslist but I don't think it is worth it. My strategy is to setup my rigs to auto boot and run the mining software...
1 - Set your motherboard to power on when it gets power (in the bios)
2 - Windows to do the following...
a. apply your overclocks using Overdrive
b. run your miner software
The only UPS I use for mining is when I am setting up a new rig and I am flashing video card bios...
Oh really, thats giving me bit chill, Thats nice setting to turn on from bios, Where you live? Would there any harm if i keep using without ups? Still ups are huge expensive, i mean what would those do who have 20+ rigs.. Hi guys,
I need your opinion,
Im not new miner but not rich miner,
Till now it was fine, saved hard earned to buy a new gpu,
But I saw that my ups is overloaded ,
Im mining with 4 gtx 1070, right now i have 1.1kva apc ups,
Saved somehow to buy another gpu in fud session, but now i see i need to spend on ups,
Hows you guys doing with your large rig?
I would listen Indian opinions too because i live in India they are more familiar with electricity in india..
Would kill my all gpu and hardware if i dont use big ups? Can i relay upon a Surge protectors?
Please have a honest suggestion..

hi,
im getting this issue im not able to mine..
[2018-01-30 10:39:17] API open locally in full access mode on port 4068
[2018-01-30 10:39:47] ...retry after 30 seconds
i can only mine equahash but when neoscript or ccminer comes i see this msg,
please help me...
does it happen with all ccminer algos? if using profit miner, go edit profit profile to only enable ccMiner, then at Miner's tab on main window, right click miner -> Diagnostics... This would give a more detailed output as to where the mining process encountered the error, post it here (feel free to edit out your username/wallet address) so ppl can help pinpoint the issue. yes, every miner same issue except equahash, this is what i got in diagnostics report, sir please help me, really need help.. Not an expert on this but seems you are having kind of timeout issue, are you using the online services/profit switching settings? as well as latest AwesomeMiner v4.4? Cause the default profit switching port is defined as 17012 for algo switching, the neoscrypt pool on MPH is old and I think only has FTC, which makes it far less profitable than other coins in the same algo as well at least on paper. also make sure no firewall is blocking ccMiner Thank you sir for support, I just checked firewall there is no exception. Yes im using latest awesomeminer with profit switching. I still no able to figure what the issue is... Please help. |

im not being able to use auto switch algo, if i do only equahash works,
ethash,ccminer,neoscript,lyra,etc none is working for me, i tried other pool that was working but not miningpoolhub,
please fix issue...

thanks for alerting, you are doing well job, how to be safe? any antivirus or reinstall windows? when i started learning about wakeonlan i had lot of problem because it wasnt working then i added some rules on firewall,and port forward on router,etc this is i remember but not clearly, is this can be issue? im not saying you wrong, im just not hiding my steps, if pc still in danger, how can i fix it sir?  |

I actually ordered pcie extention cable, waiting 20 days to reach my location, after that fool seller sent me cpu to pcie concerter wire, it looks like Y one side cpu and other 2 x 6 pin pcie,
I always ask before action, so i ask here,
Is it safe to use that converter?
maybe but I am not sure what you want to do. are you looking to extend an 8 pin pcie to an 8 pin pcie? are you looking to extend a 6 pin pcie to a 6 pin pcie? Im using two power supply of 650 watts, both have 2 8pin wires Using it on 2 gtx 1070 and one gtx 1060, One cable to power gtx 1060 is too small so i ordered extention cable but he sent me cpu to pcie cable. Dont know if it is safe or not. Edit. This is what i got. but current mining zcash, getting 5.8-6 usd per day,
wanted to start btg too but have anyone here tried it? how much your getting?
i tried to mine BTG,about 1160sol/s and at calculator revenue was showing about 7 usd but when i converted to bitcoin it became 5 usd in changelly.
i think nicehash or zcash is still earning more, what about you?

What is difference between powered and unpowered riser, which i should take care about,
The cheap ones should be fine, the description looks a bit off, these ribbon risers are supposed to be x16 to x16, thats the whole point of them. Get them from aliexpress, get the ones with the best rating there. I also build and offer complete mining rigs, you can drop me a mail at deadsix@gmail.com. Is alixpress safe? You can try using 16 x 16 ribbon risers for the two 1070's but they are not powered and definitely not recommended

Put the 1070's in the physical slots on the motherboard, that way they get 8x -16x pcie lanes and will run in SLI.
Use the remaining slots to connect GTX 1060's with 1x to 16x risers. The 1070's may block some of the slots, so you may need to use an m.2 to pcie adapter plugged into the m.2 slot to get the 3rd 1060 running.
First of all thanks for your reply, thats means lot for me, I agree what you said but if i put them into mobo it create heat and temp goes 15c higher, At open temp remains between 65-66 but if i add two cards then temp goes to 85+ Im confused. |
