21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you look out for first when choosing alts. Utility or hype? on: July 03, 2024, 05:52:11 AM
So, what factors do you consider most important? Let’s discuss!
Obviously you would want to consider both since we want to make profit but at the same time we need to ensure that it will be maintained and not much of a risky choice

but at the end of the day profit is still what we are aiming for so it makes sense if you just look for hype for now
22  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can online gambling compete with national lotteries? on: July 03, 2024, 05:37:43 AM
This makes me wonder if any online Casino could ever compete with these levels of gambling rewards and pots.
If governments promoted online casinos, then yes but a lot of countries have laws against online gambling, but lotteries are very accessible all over the country and the results are even televised so it will be difficult to get online casino to compete with lotteries.
Quote
What do you think? Would you buy tickets in a crypto lottery yourself? And would you prefer it over a state lottery?
Well at the end of the day, it is still just gambling but considering how good of an investment crypto is nowadays then yes I would rather buy tickets for crypto lottery

I mean imagine if I win 1 btc or something that would be dream come true Grin
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Committing mistakes helps us to become a responsible gambler. on: July 02, 2024, 01:06:50 PM
There are some mistakes that amateur gamblers will make and it be counted for them as mistake, but if an experience gambler makes such mistake, it will be silly.
We all make mistakes especially in gambling. There are some things that just cannot be avoided as easily as we want to even if we are already part of the gambling industry for a long time.
Quote
In whatever we do, as we grow along we have more experience and learn from our mistakes. But in as much as we are willing to learn from our mistakes, we should not be willing to make all the mistakes by ourselves. Most times as a gambler you need to learn from the mistake of others and even other gamblers in your neighborhood. You learn from their mistakes and avoid making such mistakes yourself in the future and that is called growth.
That is true. Try to learn as much as you can without needing to experience that mistake firsthand. I said that we all do make mistakes but ideally, we should try our very best to avoid such mistakes.
24  Other / Off-topic / Re: Great forum achievement. on: July 02, 2024, 12:40:46 PM
I think one of the benefits of being in here in the forum is talking to real people. Anyone can practice their writing skills in a lot of ways: writing essays for example. But being in this community allows you to think and reflect on what kind of information you are sharing to many people. In a way, you are responsible of how other people will perceive the information you are sharing.

If you say the wrong things, it can be harmful to your own credibility but also to other people's knowledge
25  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About betting on live events. on: July 01, 2024, 03:58:32 AM
It’s quite difficult to bet on what seems to be the better option or safer option as a lot of bets require you to finalize your bets before even the game starts. It reduces chances of people doing exactly that: knowing which direction the game is likely to go to.

Betting on live events is very risky as anything can pretty much happen that is out of your control.
26  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand to Legalize Gambling To combat Illegal gambling or.... on: July 01, 2024, 03:37:14 AM
The government can facilitate and address the problem of gambling addiction by budgeting a portion of its gambling revenue to certain departments. Because of course there are consequences, but this is the government's effort to eradicate the illegal gambling mafia which basically does not benefit the state at all. Only some government officials feel the benefits, while the state suffers the consequences.
I do think it is better than trying to eradicate the illegal ways of gambling. If you can’t beat them, just join them  Wink

But seriously though the government needs to understand that making something illegal will not erase the activity but will only promote illegal ways of doing it and this applies to everything: marijuana, abortion, and etc.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin exit forever? on: June 30, 2024, 07:56:44 AM
1. Regulatory changes or bans in various countries.
What’s really pressing about this is that this is out of anyone’s control but the government agencies. No matter how much we would want to keep using bitcoin, if our government decides to halt all operation, there’s nothing we can do about it.
Quote
2. Competition from other cryptocurrency or alternative technologies.
This is inevitable and quite frankly a good thing. It means that the road bitcoin has paved is being properly used. Crypto is being accepted in a wider range.

28  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Must we call it a mistake? on: June 30, 2024, 07:48:16 AM
A mediocre view would be to lump everything as never a mistake.   There are many situations a life may be born unwanted.   Rape, incest, drugs, not closing the doggy door, etc.    I actually witnessed a rape in progress the other day - she was running and he was trotting after her with his penis bouncing up and down.  She was fenced in but clearly did not want new life at the time.  The farmer just looked the other way.  Sad
That is really devastating.

People do not know what kind of trauma a woman can go through from that. As men, we might never fully understand how it can affect us even if we can sympathize and empathize. The physical and emotional distress a woman will carry from such a mistake she did not consensually partake in requires more consideration from other people. Imagine having a child that will constantly remind you of your traumatic experience….. Even if all children are blessings, that could not have been easy for a woman.
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you recognize a match fixing? on: June 29, 2024, 11:00:33 AM
In pro leagues for every sport, you'll rarely see them.
Yup or even if there were some match fixings, you'd barely know. It is mostly observed in local leagues or games that are held not on a large scale. Athletes do not have that much of a reputation to protect yet at that point so they allow a lot of match fixings.

With pro, money is still a huge factor but in the form of sponsors. Since their games are usually broadcasted on television or online, brands that sponsor teams or players are heavily concerned with how they perform as well as how they act even outside the sport
30  Economy / Economics / Re: We need small communities and towns to create circular Bitcoin economies on: June 28, 2024, 01:01:42 AM
That’s a fascinating idea!  I'll definitely check out the video and consider how we can support the development of these circular Bitcoin economies. Kiss
I think promoting bitcoin no matter where you are is already a step forward

this community alone that we have is enough to kickstart the mass adoption of bitcoin now what we need to do is start incorporating bitcoin into our daily lives bit by bit i think this is what can influence more people or merchants to start using bitcoin within their economies as well

it will be a bit difficult though because small businesses may not have the capacity to make use of bitcoin just yet but it is small businesses that are crucial to the adoption of bitcoin
31  Other / Off-topic / Re: AI won't take your job unless you aren't good at it on: June 28, 2024, 12:35:12 AM
those people probably think AI is some sort of magic or something.
AI is simply a storage unite that save the information and connects together via a certain pattern, it cannot create new things at all.
Exactly and many people fail to realize this

ai will always need humans first and foremost because everything they create is from humans as well they are just taking from preexisting human creation and this is why people should be more careful about sharing data online because that can be now easily used by ai for ill intent purposes
Quote
in another word if you want to be a writer or artist and have a second thought because AI will take your job then fear not, AI will not take your job and if it did then you simply weren't cut off to do it in the first place.
good point, if you can't write better than ai then you are not a writer at all
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Won $4 Million and Died… on: June 27, 2024, 04:43:58 AM
I didn't find this news here, which is now being actively published on social networks, but it can be discussed.
The news is that a man in Singapore won a four-million-dollar jackpot and suffered a heart attack after learning of the win.
Well, that is just unfortunate. You can say it was a bittersweet experience as he died of happiness. Of course it is a shame that he never got to do anything with his winnings.
Quote
Sometimes joyful events end sadly. A person who learns the news experiences stress, which causes a strong heartbeat; and adrenaline levels to increase; and if the winner’s health is not very good, misfortune can happen, as happened with the player from Singapore.
I can't imagine how the family feels. What will now happen to his winnings? Will they give it to his family or just have the entire thing void?
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your strategies of spreading bitcoin given to you to yield more. on: June 27, 2024, 04:18:39 AM
my question is that as a cryptocurrency investor and bitcoin investors what investment can you join differently that will give you more than the value of bitcoin given to you? Both in your country and any other countries you maybe?
The only investment oppurtunity I can think of that can give you the same or maybe even more profit from bitcoin is if you set up a business. Even then it might not be a complete success but with 3 bitcoin, you can venture out into anything and the chances of you being successful raises immensely.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum ETF to start trading 2nd July? on: June 26, 2024, 12:35:46 PM
What is everyone's thoughts? will this make much of a difference to current market conditions?
It’s possible that due to all these speculations it turns the market around.

Everyone remembers that bitcoin was rising because of all the rumors of etf approval and when it finally got approved, the market did not really rise as much as people expected. So it is possible that people are now more hesitant in buying as they compare bitcoin etf to that of eth.

Same here it’s about time we see some profits Wink
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Teofimo Lopez vs Steve Claggett WBO Super Lightweight Title - June 29 on: June 26, 2024, 10:49:38 AM
Based on the odds also, this could be a mismatch.

Quote
Teofimo Lopez vs Steve Claggett Odds
Fighter   Odds
Teofimo Lopez   -1100
Steve Claggett   +650
https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/news/boxing/teofimo-lopez-vs-steve-claggett-prediction-odds-how-to-watch-june-29/

Not so attractive so I'd just bet on the KO odds as shared by bisdak. Imagine betting $1100 to win $100, that's crazy, I can't risk with that kind of odds although everyone believed that Lopez are gonna win this fight, but you know, upset happened in boxing anytime.

I like the over/under as well, maybe I'm taking the under 10.5. (tailing with bisdak here).
If this is the odds? maybe I will pass betting because the interest and the excitement seems to be gone when this kind of fight .

and besides the match up is mismatch for me but lets see what can Claggett give in this bout .
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is performing just fine currently on: June 25, 2024, 12:31:51 PM
I understand that we all want Bitcoin prices to skyrocket (which it's actually doing), but that doesn't mean Bitcoin is performing poorly. A lot of people expected Bitcoin to get to $100k immediately after the halving, but by history, it's usually not so.
It’s not performing poorly however I do understand if people become a little disappointed with the rate of bitcoin going up. To be fair, I don’t think bitcoin is doing bad but we all want it to rise as quickly as possible.

Many thought that due to the halving event, the after effects would be so explosive and its stagnant price came as a surprise. Despite the disappointment I still believe bitcoin will soon rise. It’s all about time and waiting.
37  Economy / Economics / Re: The Higher the capital the higher the returns on: June 25, 2024, 12:03:14 PM
From basic economic principles, if you have a higher capital, you will certainly have higher returns compared to starting with a smaller capital. If you're just chasing returns or expecting a huge profit margin but pay slight attention to how much you use as your capital, even when you make a profit, the extent of your profit will largely depend on how much is your Capital.
That’s true but it’s not always true.

Investing huge capital is important as businesses have more chances to grow if capital is higher but it doesn’t always guarantee that your profit will be higher just because you had higher capital. There are situations where because there is so much capital, the profit needs to be extremely high as well which are not met. Thus, losses are formed.
Quote
Don't chase bigger returns, chase more capital. This is also applicable to How much you invest in Bitcoin and how much profit you can get from it.
In the context of bitcoin, higher investment means higher profit yes. But you also have to factor in how you will manage this investment and be able to extract maximum profits.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just tap on your mobile and get rich! What is the main purpose? on: June 24, 2024, 06:47:13 PM
When I open Instagram, I see many people promoting projects like Tapswap, Hamster, etc, and assuming that the audience is stupid by promising a great life and a lot of money.
While it’s kind of stupid for influencers or content creators to promote things they are not that aware of, it is also our responsibility to fact check things and make sure that any claims are true and legitimate.
Quote
Do you think it's really that easy to get rich with just a few taps?
If it was that easy and simple, everyone would have been rich by now wouldn’t we? Wink
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is easier, to quit when winning or to quit when losing? on: June 24, 2024, 11:50:51 AM
we all have different answers here because all of us has different attitude in gambling , some loves to quit when winning( and those are the one who can control their gambling activites ) while those others quits when they are completely lose.

meaning My answer is quit when Winning because I have learned my lessons already.
40  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can the world be a better place without religion? on: June 23, 2024, 05:39:08 AM
Even if the world would be a better place without religion there is no way to know whether that can be true anymore. Religion is too engrained into our history and culture that we can no longer remove it.

Removing it would be complex and create a shift in so many worlds. Many countries are led by churches and their religion, I can't possibly imagine a world that has no religion.

Even if we go back to history, a lot of what we have now wouldn't have happened without religion. Many countries back then invaded and colonized countries under the guise of spreading religion. If religion didn't exist, what would have happened back then and how could it affect the today of our world?
