25  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Av reports viruses in sst file on: April 14, 2014, 02:14:52 AM
Just noticed something similar after doing a full scan with avast.  I used a couple other scanners as well but avast was the only one that picked these up.   And reading the earlier reply it seems like if I re-download the blockchain these will still appear because they aren't actually on my pc and can't affect me?  (at least that's how I understand it?)  Any ideas?

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Primecoin GPU miner: 1.2 chains (6.7 XPMs) / day on: April 02, 2014, 12:42:56 AM
So here are our reasonings regarding licenses:

We do want to get some money from selling the miner. At the same time we don't want to ruin the coin by making it non-profitable via raising the difficulty into 11-chains in a week. We are now looking for a solution that will suit both us and the our customers.

Unless you talk us out of this idea, we are going to sell a limited number of licenses for the first 1-3 months.
The number should be 1440 GPUs - we are able to produce licenses for any number of GPUs (1-6).
This way the number of chains per minute on the network would rise by 1.2 and the difficulty would rise by 35-40%.
2nd month - for 2880 GPUs, maybe 2x this amount. We go open source in 6 months.

Of course, we can't totally control the difficulty:
For example, if a more profitable GPU miner appears and we are unable to optimize ours anymore - we will go open source. This would probably pump the difficulty.

One more thing:
We've already recieved 4 suggestions to sell licenses for farms with 40-60 rigs. Selling these licences would mean that all of 1440 go to 3-4 people/organizations.
It would be very bad for the coin. So our idea is to limit 2 licences (8 GPUs max) per each buyer - at least for first 2 months. We would only sell the miner to bitcointalk'ers with a registration date prior to 25.03.2014.
If we are unable to sell this limited number of licenses within 2 weeks, we would sell the rest to farmers (alternatively - slash the price).

You comments / ideas are very welcome.
Also regarding the price - we would like to hear the voice of the community .

I'd like to see developers getting rewarded so that there is incentives for people to improve Primecoin miners. Someone will try and probably succeed in a month to reverse engineer your miner. I suggest you keep your miner and mine for a while, and at the same time make the miner working for a broader selection of GPUs, so that  you get financially compensated and more people will benefit from it once it is released. However since your miner is already out, that may not be an option any more. Another possibility is working to get developer;s fee from e.g. ypool.

+1 on this!  I don't have much but would be willing to make some sort of contribution myself!

explain to me how putting hash on a system made for hashing is a crime. explain to me what legislation this comes under. what you are referring to is money which cryptocurrencies are clearly not.

It's your job to explain it to the police how it is not a crime if ANYTHING with monetary value (be it carrots, dollars, or cryptocoins) is being taken away from someone.

last time i checked profiteering was a crime too... 10 more minutes in the corner for you.

its amazing how people look at this thread as a crime. the whole point of this thread is to stop the crime.

lol

You are a shitcoin operator who is out to eliminate your competition and that is how the law will be looking at it if you cause anyone any damages...But plz don't take my word for it i'm really just a fucktard!

I agree with this thread! There are about 150 coins that should be dead and gone!

I am sorry that I need to tell you guys that all the BTC is/was on MtGox. So I hope it can be recouped, but I fear the worst.
Marp are you serious?? FFS man, you didn't think to mention that when they halted withdrawals?? You could have still got some out via bitcoin builder or at least consulted us! Can you pm me what mine was worth?

AGREED OMFG!!!  I just want my 250 xpm back.  Could care less about the bitcoin! Would have been better off sending our funds to cryptsy than gox cmon bro WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!

Also I've pm'd you couple time over the past couple months with no response.  I've held my head up trying to not think the worst but this kinda kills it.
34  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Time to boycott coinmarketcap.com on: January 01, 2014, 01:19:04 AM
Looks like ripple must of paid off the owner of coinmarketcap to display ripple as the 2nd most popular cryptocoin .We all know this is a lie as most ripple coins we created and are owned by the company that started it.

time to swtich over to a better site that doesn't count centralized , premined or intsamined coins

http://www.cryptmarketcap.com/

(original post from "Bossman")

ridiculus to add "scam non coin " Ripple to that list in my opinion.

You should bump this daily!

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BTG BitGem 0.4.1.7 NEW UPDATE | Bitgem just 23,000 BTGs out there !!!! on: December 30, 2013, 05:36:00 AM
interesting ideas, in fact i was thinking almost the same things back when you introduced the new gemwallet with the different types of gemstones.

some random thoughts,

how easy the exchanges eg. cryptsy could implement a new sub-market only for gems?

The current bitgem balance could be considered as raw gem material.
If i want to "create" a diamond, maybe, i could send the amount of the raw material needed as a single transaction to a second "wallet"(gem bag), so i could earn a fixed higher stake for this diamond but it could only be used in the future as a whole (idk if this is actually possible).

something is bugging me, there are diamonds and emerarlds out there.
I know BTG is older than those 2 but still, something need to be done in order to not be confusing for the new gem holders.

You are correct!
BTG IS older than diamonds or emerald and undeniably more innovative!   Still holding.

Out of curiosity @Mineral what country are you from.. I can tell from the way you word things english isn't native..didn't you say Greece before?

40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: December 25, 2013, 02:31:08 PM
Hello everyone Smiley
I want to extend a big thanks to H2O, and a sincere thanks to senior members
who took the time to write about their positive experiences with this mining pool.

It's so damn easy to complain ... and that's a real shame.

It only takes a few seconds to say something positive about this pool,
and I know plenty of people have earned a LOT of money with H20's help.

So - if you've had a positive experience, then let others know.

For all the noobs out there ...
Keep the following in mind:

1. When you feel like you missed out on an opportunity elsewhere - that's not H20's fault.
2. When Cryptsy or Coinex are down and cause payment delays - that's not H20's fault.
^^When they are lagged the hell out use bter.com, coins-e, crypto-trade, or mcxNOW.com^^ (all trade resuming soon)
3. When an alt coin's value drops like a rock - that's not H20's fault either ...
4. When YOUR mining rig fails - well ... that's not H20's fault.

This should be on op ^.^  LoL!

my point is ...

50% of the posts in this forum thread, are pretty negative, and most of them
relate to the 4 points above. Wake up kids. If you think you can do better,
please try. Simply leave the pool, do your own thing and stop complaining.

If you appreciate this service, and have confidence in H20 - then say so.

Take just 20 seconds to congratulate H20 and let's inspire those Hashcows
refuges to join us with confidence.

Smiley

You're post made me LoL this morning!  Had to add to it!

Happy Holidays guys!  Smiley
