21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Top 3 Reasons To DUMP Binance Coin (BNB) on: May 31, 2019, 12:12:30 PM
1. It is centralized

BNB is centralized.

It's minted by a single guy sitting in a cubicle somewhere.

It is nothing at all of what makes cryptocurrencies special.

2. If Binance goes down, so does BNB

This stems from point 1.

If Binance is hacked (?) again like they were a couple weeks ago, BNB goes to shit. All it takes is one issue with Binance and BNB goes kaput.

BNB depends 100% on a central institution which can be the next Bitconnect

3. Exchanges are commodities

There are TENS of large exchanges and hundreds of smaller ones.

You can shapeshift any crypto into any other crypto any time you want.

Being part of an exchange does not make BNB special at all. Getting listed on large exchanges is a matter of making a $$ deposit. Any serious crypto can afford to be listed on top exchanges.

So that's it my friends. Don't believe the hype. Look at fundamentals always.

Most top 10 coins do nothing.

BTC and ETH actually have a purpose. The others are either vaporware or 100% hype.

Ahoy!
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I Turned My Rigs Off... on: May 30, 2019, 12:45:36 PM
Damn.

OP was paying 0,06 for kw and still wasn't profitable.

Back when I was mining in 2013 or so I paid 0,25 or more, with extra fee for excess consumption.

And was profitable for a while! Especially since I held until 2017.

I hope the mining scene recovers soon.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better ICO, STO Or IEO ? on: May 30, 2019, 11:26:10 AM
They're all the same thing underneath: crowdfunding events using cryptos.

Personally I think IEO's are the most dynamic of them all these days since you won't have to wait for your token to be listed anywhere - it already is. Also exchanges will likely vet the projects, so the scams should be a lot fewer.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON to soon displace ETHEREUM? on: May 30, 2019, 10:57:03 AM
No chance Tron can take out Ethereum.

Per Metcalfe's law, a platform's worth is given by the number of users.

This is intuitive: since each network user communicates with at least one other, the number of pairs interacting make the network valuable. The total number of pairs possible is N to square power where N is number of participants.

So: Ethereum has like Nx more users than Tron. Which means its network value is N^2 that of Tron. Until this logic reverses, Ethereum will continue to rule.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alts to invest. on: May 30, 2019, 10:53:10 AM
I have ETH and BNB

But right now I'm filling the bags with BAT. I think it's one of the best crypto projects out there. Constant software delivery, great team and great application of the token. Online ads is hot.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet bot? on: May 29, 2019, 11:58:10 PM
The telegram bots can disappear without leaving any traces.

This is the right answer.

If folks haven't learned from moolah and Dogecoin and other such bots disappearing, then you deserve to lose your cyrptos.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get Ready For Cocos-BCX Public Beta Testing on: May 29, 2019, 11:18:36 AM
For those of us who can't get to Beijing, what are the official websites where we can get more infos?

You should probably include your official website and email/telegram on every communication. Just my 2 cents. Thanks.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If a whale is buying Bitcoin then I too will buy Bitcoin. on: May 28, 2019, 12:24:39 PM
They often place spoofed offers and pump/dump to fool anyone trying to shadow them.

This is a risky strategy that'll bite you eventually. Don't do it.

Invest only based on your own research and analysis. Make sure you got some unique idea or else you'll lose cryptos. Remember trading is a zero sum game. If you're winning it means someone is losing the same amount.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STO vs ICO - security on: May 28, 2019, 12:23:01 PM
Hi,

I've compared a few ICOs and STOs.

In my opinion, they are nothing different when it comes to security.

What do you think?

Are you serious?

They're not different when it comes to technical security, they are different in the fact that one is a security and the other isn't. And that "security" is not related to being secure or not.

See this https://www.thestreet.com/topic/47042/securities.html
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to check if ICO is scam or not? on: May 27, 2019, 11:41:44 AM
An ICO is simply a crowdfunding event which uses crypto instead of fiat money.

The same rules that apply to startup funding apply to ICO's.

Is the project good? Is the team good? Do you know the team? Why should you trust the project? Does the product have a market? Is there demand? Can the team really build the product/service?

When you invest in ICO you're simply becoming a partner in a startup. If the startup wouldn't work using fiat money funding, it won't work with crypto ICO either.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be safe on: May 27, 2019, 11:39:49 AM
Think twice, or three times, before using any kind of wallet that uses the browser.

Even though the software itself may be safe (e.g. myetherwallet), your browser could be compromised.

Browsers are dirty and vulnerable. Extensions can read anything inside your browser. Your favorite extension may auto-update and inject malware into your browser, even accidentally. It has happened before with large javascript projects, why not with extensions?

So do not trust your browser. Only run native wallets with open source code.

32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin G. a scam? on: May 26, 2019, 10:28:01 PM
No one remember successful Double Spend/51% attack on Bitcoin Gold where an exchange suffer huge losses? Aside whether it's scam/not, it's clear that :
1. The network is less secure against other major cryptocurrency
2. The developer "pre-mine" lots of BTG

I'd avoid BTG if i were you

Not to mention the reason for forking it was absolute BS and it was dumped hard soon after forking.  BTG is simply a way for folks to double their Bitcoin but it failed since it got dumped so hard.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ADA Coin is sleeping deeply. When to wake up ? on: May 26, 2019, 10:23:20 PM
I think ADA is too high already. Why is it a top 10 coin anyway?

ADA is vaporware. It's not decentralized. Staking it will pay next to nothing. Its funding ends next year and they haven't even entered phase 2 of the roadmap.

Why should ADA be a top 10 even?
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2019-05-25] Discussion On Ethereum’s Next Hard Fork Begins on: May 26, 2019, 12:27:52 PM
What I think is going to happen:

A dissident group will remain in old Ethereum and will call it Ethereum Vitalik Vision EVV.

Holders of ETH will instantly own EVV with the fork.

The EVV developers will pump it using the media and soon it'll join the top 20 coins with a market cap of a few hundred million.

Boom, millions of U$ invented out of ether (pun intended).
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Is someone really behind the Bitcoin SV pump? on: May 24, 2019, 09:43:02 PM
A Reddit user suggested there may be someone behind the Bitcoin SV pump.

Personally...IMO this does look a bit coincidental... I think 99% agree there was someone behind it but I've heard as many names as there are Bitcoin SV supporters so....

Is there someone behind the SV pump? And do you think it'll fly?
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Does a cross-chain DEX exist? on: May 24, 2019, 03:35:51 PM
I just went through several pages about DEX'es here on bitcointalk.

My question is: does ta truly cross-chain DEX exist? If so, can you point me to where I can read more about them?

How do they exchange cryptos from different blockchains under one smart contract?
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wich coin is next? on: May 24, 2019, 12:20:22 PM
BSV price increase because it is hugely manipulated by a group of people.

I agree 100% with this.

Obvious, obvious manipulation is obvious.

Remember november 2017? When some folks attempted the flippening?

It's the same thing all over again IMO.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: sick of high fees Ive moved over to alts on: May 24, 2019, 12:18:29 PM
I used to be in the bitcoin core crowd but after still paying ridiculous fees recently Ive moved over to bch and SV, I Guess this is kind of a rant, but I dont understand who the hell wants to pay high fees to send money to someone.

Naturally, if transaction costs are high, that is due to a large queue and the price of bitcoin is now increasing. You may use other altcoins to transact like Monero or XRP. I also often do as you do when you feel high transaction costs.

That's an interesting take.

So if Ethereum had the same transaction volume as Bitcoin do you think their gas price would also be proportional to Bitcoin?

This implies that there aren't cheaper alternatives, just lower volume ones. Correct?
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's Your Top Altcoin List? on: May 24, 2019, 12:10:02 PM
Right now I think BAT has the greatest potential.

Why?

* Top notch developers and project leader (B. Eich)
* Active software production, not vaporware like some top 10 coins.
* A great use case. Online advertising.
* A working product. Brave Browser
* Fastest growing web browser out there.
* Ads will be purchased in BAT so there'll be enormous demand for the token.
* Great team. Try it: they're great. The CEO replies instantly on Twitter.
* Security and support history. Issues have been reported and dealt with in minutes via Twitter.

Overall I think BAT has the greatest potential to move from top 50 to top 10 soon. Just gotta catch people's attention.
40  Economy / Economics / Re: Securitization and tokenization on: May 24, 2019, 11:17:08 AM
I don't know who coined those terms first, but I believe that a securitization is just a form of tokenization. Essentially you tokenize your share/security so that you can trade/store it on the blockchain instead of doing it the old way.

They're different things.

Securitization is the bureaucratic process of legally making it so something represents a security.

Tokenization is what you referred to, getting some "real world thing" to be traded using crypto methods.
